This was my first visit and I am happy to say I thoroughly enjoyed not on, y the food but the down home atmosphere and friendly waitresses. Almost makes me want to not rave about them because I am afraid Georges will become well known and difficult to get into. Went for breakfast and it was wonderful. Great pancakes, huge portions, excellent breakfast meats. Can’t wait to try them for lunch or dinner.

This is the greatest diner on earth. Cherish every meal you’re able to spend at George’s like it’s your last. Life if fleeting and not many things give me the amount of joy that a turkey wrap from Georges does. The staff is filled with gods and goddesses. The cooks are absolute legends. I’d rather eat here than a 5 star restaurant any day.

Good old diner cooking. I feel like I’m at my grandmas diner in Queens when I come here. Bring cash there’s no cards accepted

My new favorite place. How could I have lived in Suffolk county my whole life and never went here. I’ve been here 3 times this week already. Lunch specials are out of this would. Cream of broccoli soup, lentil soup and breaded pork chop are out of this would. And the milk shakes ohhhh yeah they have cotton candy ice cream.

There is a war in Patchogue. It’s not in the sense of violence or blood shed. It’s about choice. Peter’s or George’s, which is the better diner! Well I am here to end that battle once and for all! It’s George’s Luncheonette, I am here to explain why. When I pulled up to the diner the vibe I got was positive. Not because I felt something in my bones, it’s because the parking lot was packed! I knew something good was going on inside George’s. We walked into the diner, they had a short wait but the waitresses were very pleasant asking if we wanted to wait at the bar for a table. I really felt like they cared. Looking around George’s I see they renovated because everything looked new inside; fresh walls, new seats, and nice clean tables. When we finally got seated we had the luck to have Dawn as our waitress. First impressions matter and Dawn delivered perfectly for the business. Dawn was engaged with us and friendly while we picked our order. Dawn even promoted future deals at George’s without trying to sound pushy, A+ for effort Dawn! I got a omelette with cheese, of course, sausage, bacon, home fries, and wheat toast, of course wheat, I eat healthy. They offer coffee or OJ with the meal complementary of George’s. Five stars all around just for the free OJ. I began eating the food and had to step back for a minute while I drifted off into my childhood. I felt comfort and safety in the well known taste of the eggs and sausage like my mother use to make. It felt like Sunday morning still under my blanket with my toes sticking out with every bite. All under the umbrella of great people around complimenting the place. The food was perfect, the waitress Dawn was perfect the entire visit was perfect. I normally have to at least include one negative with my visit, it brings balance to the force, the only one thing I would say is they don’t take credit cards. That’s normal in Patchogue so I knew to ask. But that’s not enough to keep me out. I feel like everyone here makes you feel like family. This One great visit sets the bar high for all dining for me. If I enter another diner in the future the first thing I will think now is…“will that waitress be great like Dawn?” I have been to both places Peter’s and George’s and there is no competition! To sum it all up, It’s like comparing the NFL and PAL Football. George’s is the pro’s and Peter’s still hasn’t entered the draft.

Went for breakfast this morning. Unsatisified. First, the coffee… blech. Burnt and bitter. Three spoons of sugar and I couldn’t even taste the sweet. Bacon is oven cooked, which is ok, but it’s the cheap bacon, Farmland brand from Restaurant Depot. I’d rather have two or three slices of Boar’s Head then 5 – 6 slices of cheap stuff. My eggs were ok, they’re eggs. Potatoes had no flavor. The butter, on cheap toast, looked odd. My daughters(chocolate chip) and husbands(plain) pancakes had no flavor. When chocolate chips have no flavor, there’s something wrong or missing. My friends french toast and butter tasted«like the way(his) fathers body shop smelled.» The butter also never melted on his food. It was strange, butter should melt. And he said it tasted weird. Servers were friendly, why 2 stars instead of 1, but I’ll never return.

Came to this establishment because of reviews on Unilocal. Let me start by saying that the breakfast was good, plentiful and priced very reasonably. So why am I giving it three stars? Because halfway through the French Toast my husband stops and pulls a 8″ long blond hair from his mouth. YUCK! French Toast now pushed off to the side, he shook of the grossed out feeling and continued to eat his eggs and bacon on the other plate. Not more then a minute into it he stops dead and pulls another 8“Blond hair from his mouth. That’s it, we are done… check please. So my advice to the cook staff or waitresses. .TIEUPYOURHAIR! What started as a delightful breakfast turned into a stomach turning experience, which is too back because the food really was good, plentiful and reasonable. I’m writing this review not to be critical but in hopes«George«sees it and takes measures to eliminate the possibility of this happening again. Most eateries has one chance to make a good impression and obtain a loyal customer. Hair in your food can lose you business, and I think you food is too good to lose customers over because of hair

My wife and I come here for breakfeast all the time. I work crazy hours and they never have a problem with making dinner entrees at breakfast and it’s always good. We tried the dinner special at dinner time and it’s excellent and a great deal. Friendly staff in the morning and at night.

I love the people here; the breakfast crew knows us and it’s like setting family when we come. I love the breakfast menu, & tonight it’s one of those nights where nobody feels like cooking so we’re here for dinner. Never disappointed. Keep making great meals!!!

One of my favorite diners on Long Island. These guys pump out breakfast like its their job… Well… You know what I mean. You place an order and within mins the order is fulfilled. Real friendly staff. Clean place. The man behind the counter John(who does the egg slinging) will impress you. It’s almost like watching Hells Kitchen but live. This guy does not stop moving! When you don’t feel like making breakfast in the morning, you come here and they’ll take care of it. **ADVISORY** This establishment only takes cash!

I am a big fan of George’s — for breakfast or dinner. Not fancy, Just good, hot food with large portions. Go early for weekend breakfast, the lines can be long. Love the corned beef hash, love a George’s Omelette, love the French toast. For dinner — great burgers, surprisingly good lasagna, a nice homey, comforting meatloaf. Great staff, especially Chrissy and Val who make me feel like family whenever I am there. Challenge: try to find a day and time the Miguel is not working ! It cannot be done. Always there, working hard and smiling.

Best breakfast in the area hands down, the service is good and friendly, the coffee is a step above usual diner fare, even dare I say slightly better than Dunkin! The prices are more than reasonable with ample portions. My favorite is their French toast, that they make with Texas toast!

With horrible experience a day before with another restaurant, I purposely checked another nearby restaurant on Unilocal. It was a toss between this and Peter’s but chose this one. Like others said, it was very nice overall. Food was nice, service was nice and the restaurant, though humble and simple, was kept nice and clean. The waitress was on top of everything going on with everyone dined there and I was very impressed. She knew what each of customers seem to need and bring it right over before asked. What a service!

Bring cash and stand in line by the front door to wait for a table. Service is fast. Food is good. Prices are very reasonable. I’ve only eaten breakfast here. Omelets are better than average. Coffee is hot and refills are frequent. Absolutely worth a trip here if you are hungry, not afraid of good old fashioned diner food and don’t want to spend a fortune.

I visited this restaurant while in my mothers hometown area of Patchogue, LI. The service was great and portions huge! I had Pancakes with egg whites and the pastrami hash-everything was delicious. The prices are just as good as the food. I definitely could not finish everything. This will definitely be my go to spot whenever in the area visiting.

I’ll get it out of the way first: George’s beats Pete’s. The times I go to Pete’s I think of how I could be at George’s instead. The restaurant is located in a small strip of stores on Montauk Highway and is easy to miss, but parking is plentiful if you drive through the lot to the back. If it’s not busy, you can seat yourself. The food is great, coffee always filled, and their breakfast potatoes are outstanding. The portions are more than filling, I never finish and I feel bad not doing so. I always get their western omelet with some American cheese on top and it’s delicious. A lot of seniors frequent the place, and I appreciate their loyalty to this place — but it’s not hard to be loyal when their food is great! As another reviewer said, I have occasionally had to wait for the check, but that’s okay because I like to talk. Staff is friendly, and don’t get in the way which is something I like. Something else I like, is the price. Cheap, good food, why not try it? Go to George’s.
