In case you haven’t heard the steak tips are pretty good… All kidding aside the steak tips are fantastic the best I’ve ever had at first sight they are big I thought they would’ve been chewy and gross but boy was I wrong soft almost like a filet migon… The dinner plate comes with a salad great creamy Italian dressing. Great dive bar feel…

Not sure if you’ve heard but the steak tips are probably the best I’ve ever had. I would venture a guess that they are the best in the North Shore, maybe even New England — and if anyone knows any that are even better, let me know because I’d love to see how they get better than this. That said, the service wasn’t stellar. I believe it COULD be – the staff here seems like my kind of people; I love to-the-point, watering hole service at a place that I can make my own. I think they were just spread too thin the night we went. We waited a long time for a table to free up, and she wasn’t eager to 1) take our order 2) offer drinks 3) fill our water, ever. I would give it another shot, though. Bar consisted of a lot of liquor on top of an industrial fridge. This place is no-frills, but it doesn’t pretend to be anything but, so I can appreciate that. The salad was good, the dressing was good, the bread was fine. If you just want good steak and good food, this place will definitely do it.

Champions by far has the best grill steak tips I have ever tried. All of the food off of the grille there tastes amazing and I thoroughly recommend that everybody tries this place. You will not be disappointed. The service is great, and the crowd of people is usually pretty chill too, but the food here is out of this world!!!

We only come here for the Steak Tips so I can’t speak for the rest of the menu but I can say the tips are the best. Try them out you won’t be disappointed.

Best steak tips in the world. What else is there to say? Mai Tai Thursday once a month is a nice addition. Best Mai tai’s around. If you don’t get the tip dinner try the cheesesteak with cooked onions. Mind blowing. Their burger is also really good. No frills. Good roll and a big patty. You better pack your patience if you go when they’re busy though. Small grill with one cook. They do remarkably well considering their set up. Their new parking lot next door helps a lot. No more getting towed for parking across the street.

I used to LOVE this place! I hadn’t stopped in for about 6 months after going there for years. It’s always been the best local place for steak tips & steak fries! I was shocked when I went in for dinner a few nights ago. We saw the HUGE increase in the menu prices & walked out! An increase of almost $ 5.00 for the steak tip dinner is OUTRAGEOUS! Paying that price for a nice restaurant is one thing, but not for a small neighborhood bar, who’s prices had always been very reasonable. It was one of my favorite places to go when I wanted the best steak tips around but since they charge $ 18.00 for the steak tips now, sadly I’m going elsewhere! :(

This isn’t exactly a revelation, but the steak tips are very good. A recommendation of them was the reason I sought this place out. They’re just sweet enough(pineapple juice in the marinade, maybe?)and cook up crispy and come served with a salad and bread and your choice of a side. Very unassuming from the outside, I’m pretty sure I dismissed this place as a dive bar on the other occasions when I was in the area. Jam packed full of Peabody locals on a Thursday afternoon, clearly this place has a good rep. Very diner-ish atmosphere. Alcohol selection on par with most any neighborhood bar in greater Boston area. Reasonable prices.

Champions has the best steak tips on the planet. They’re just crispy enough on the outside, they melt in your mouth and the marinade is the nectar of gods. I normally write more detailed reviews, but nothing more needs to be said. Go to Champions and get steaktips.(Sage, yet obvious advice.)

I thought the steak tips were huge tasty but not of a great texture. Fries were fries and the side dish salad was ok. Service was accommodating. But not 4 star awesome food. Worth another visit tho.

Steak tip sub and the skinny fries are the way to go! Cocktails come strong in a 16 ounce glass… A place to go in sweat pants nothing fancy! Perfect dive bar…

Just ordered take out and I’m taking off a star(that’s being generous). The fried haddock was BAD. I mean smell, taste and it was soggy. I’m lucky if I don’t get sick. The lettuce in my salad was all brown(every single piece) and tomato(YES, SINGULAR) mushy. That’s what I get apparently for ordering anything other than the steak tips(which ARE the best in the area), first AND last time. And when you bring it to their attention they laugh in your face by encouraging you to go elsewhere. This at one time was my go-to place but when Champions is basically giving their customers the middle finger. here’s one right back. And IF I was to return, it would be dine in only & stick to what they know best — steak tips. That way, I know what I’m getting myself into. Good food, good portions, good prices and a strong drink to enjoy while I wait 40 minutes to an hour for my food with a crappy waitress/waiter who could give two sh-ts about you.

Amazing steak tips. The best there is. That is the only thing my husband and I will order from here. We get it to go, because the restaurant itself is cold and the service is subpar. I’ve had the fried shrimp, but always keep going back to the steak tips. Fries and onion rings are ok.

Best steak tips around. The portions are huge, quality of tips are amazing, marinade is to die for, the prices are as good as it gets. This place is a no brainer. Drinks are great too. People that complain about the ambiance, have fun going to Boston and paying 2x as much for ½ the quality. I hope this place never changes. I love that people complain that the sea food is bad. You come here for steak tips. Your the same type of people that would order chicken parm at a mexican place and expect it to be good. Also, if you want good service, go to the Capital Grill.

I grew up in the neighborhood, and champions is the place for steak tips! Now with that said… DONOTDINEIN!!! Service is absolutely horrible! Dined there last night with my girlfriend and I do not think we will be back anytime soon. We had two waitresses a blonde and a brunette and both were terrible at their jobs. They cared more about conversing with the patrons at the bar and each other at the register then their patrons at the tables looking to dine. We arrived and we were able to find a table right off the bat. We sat ourselves and with in a few minutes the brunette waitress came by and took our drink order. She came back with in minutes and served us our beverages. The brunette waitress took our orders which was; a tip dinner, tip salad and jalapeño poppers as a app. Then she was gone. Roughly 15min later the blonde waitress dropped of my salad and walked away, then another 15min later dropped off our dinners and walked away. She did not ask if we needed our drinks refreshed OR if everything was fine. We did not get our apps nor did my girlfriend get dressing for her tip salad that she had asked for. It took me 10 min to flag down any hostess to get the dressing and by that time we were done with the entire place. We requested boxes and the check. Again she dropped them off and ran off. So after several minutes I had to finally hunt her down to pay my bill. As a customer I should not have to hunt you down in a place as small as champions. The atmosphere was terrible. They had only a few tvs on and most of them turned off and there was a group of drunk woman cackling and yelling over each other, it was the worse dinning experience I have had in any of the down town Peabody dive bars!!! I give them 2 stars for tips alone! If the tips were not as good the place would get negative stars and from the other reviews I read on here, maybe the owners would want to hire waitresses that can do their job, but again it’s a dive bar in Peabody so they don’t care. To bad, really a shame!!!
