I grew up on Lubys. Used to really like it up until a couple years ago. Food is just not good every time I go there. I give up now. Also this location is super ghetto and I witnessed some unsanitary things last visit. For some odd reason I still purchased my meal. Waste of money. Last time going there

Horrible service rude people working the line. They have an attitude wen asking what you want no common courtesy. Will not be coming back not just because of that but I got the potatoes and one was rotten that’s disgusting.

I decided to cheat this Thanksgiving and get my turkey and a few sides from Lubys. My fried Turkey was awesome and the yams okay but the cornbread stuffing was so salty it was inedible and the mac and cheese were like butter noodles with no cheese. I guess that’s what I get for cheating. I’ll definitely make own sides and stuffing next year.

This is the first and last time we will visit this place. Very disappointing. The overall cleanliness was subpar, my cloth napkin was even dirty. My meal consisted of fried fish, green beans and squash. All of the food ranged from barely warm to cold. The edges of the roll were hard and dried out. Everything was tasteless. Very disappointing. A customer gave an employee back a plate of food that was already on his tray. He decided he didn’t want the rice on his plate, he wanted another vegetable. The employee scraped the rice from his plate, which had other food on it, back into the serving container on the pass-through. The next person who wanted rice would be getting his returned serving that was contaiminated with fluids from the other food on his plate. Just nasty. Not good at all.

People underrate this place. I think it’s because of the cafeteria-style atmosphere. However, it’s great food. Good flavors. Tastes like home cooking. Great alternative when you don’t want to cook at home. And you don’t have to wait for your food to be prepared.

It’s a hit or miss with this location although most of the time it’s a hit. Fried fish, cabbage, mac & cheese are my usual. Best time to visit is around or before 5pm as to assure you get hot, fresh food and not leftovers that’s been sitting out. Service provided is quick & friendly. Take is out is pretty quick also.

If you like Luby’s their food here has the same flavor and options as all the other locations. Why write a review on this particular location? Well because I am so fond of the new look and feel of the place! The fact that it is new I’m sure is part of the reason but the décor and layout seems almost as if you are dining at a much nicer restaurant rather than at a «cafeteria». I didn’t need the wait staff as we stopped by just for lunch and had everything we needed but our waiter was very attentive and followed up in a timely manner should we need refills or anything else. I had 3 kids with me so it was a bit slower for us getting all of the food ordered however the food line staff seemed very patient and friendly. I would recommend this location. We came at a time that was not very busy(Saturday 12pm).

Let me start off with saying that this will not be a good review. Last night was my first and probably last visit to Pearland’s Luby’s. The food and service was very disappointing. We arrived and got in line at 7pm on a Wednesday. From the time we got in line to the time we sat down to eat, thirty minutes had passed. There were only three servers available to put food on the dish for customers. One stood behind the salad case while the other two covered everything else. There was food scattered outside the dishes that held each item, as if they had been working fast to get the food to guests — which I assure you, was not the case. The young lady that was in charge of dishing up the main course did not know the name of a fried food. I thought it was fried eggplant. She said it was tomato something; which we determined was fried green tomatoes. There was only one serving utensil between the fried okra, fries and fried tomatoes. AND there was only one spoon for the three containers of Mac-n-cheese. So one server had to wait to serve me my Mac-n-cheese while someone else took the spoon from her, not only once, but twice to serve from another Mac-n-cheese. The whole ordeal was quite ridiculous. When I got to the desserts, none of them were identified. I wanted to get one to-go, and when I asked the lady behind the glass what the one I pointed to was… she shrugged and said she didn’t know. Food — My fried fish seemed to be sitting in oil on my plate. The Mac-n-cheese was alright(usually my favorite part) and my fried okra was pieces that were drenched in grease. The wheat roll was dry. I know I sound very critical. I am being critical because I love Luby’s and their okra/Mac-n-cheese was the best. My mother mentioned that when it was time to get up and leave, her shoes stuck to the floor and that the chairs were sticky when she went to push it in. Overall — I won’t won’t be going back to our Pearland Luby’s. I’ll find another one with better service and food.

This is one of the nicest Luby’s that I’ve ever been to visit. It is clean and the restrooms are nice which is important to me. I really like the blackened tilapia and good variety of vegetable choices. I can eat here and feel like I’ve had a healthy meal or on the days I want to splurge I can eat fried everything! Their dessert are always good. My daughter had the chicken pot pie and was not pleased. The top crust was beautifully browned and flaky, but there wasn’t enough of it since there was no bottom crust. The inside was runny and more like a chicken soup than the creamy filling you expect in a chicken pot pie. Table service is a little spotty. Sometimes we have someone who goes above and beyond, then others we can’t seem to even get a refill of drinks.

Wow this has to be the worst meal I’ve ever had, I’m giving 2 stars because the wait staff tried their best to make things right but the damage was done, spaghetti was thick and tasted bland, the sides were even worse, never had sides that tasted like they came out of a can. I’ll never come here again…

This Luby’s is the best I’ve been to. I really like the fried chicken as it is usually jucy inside and crispy on the outside. I dig the square fish too!

It’s been a minute since I’ve been to Luby’s. I was craving some fried fish and just overall comfort food so I decided to stop by and pick up an order to go. The parking lot was packed, but they have plenty of to go parking spots. The to go area is right next to the dining room so I caught a glimpse. It’s definitely a lot nicer than other Luby’s that I have dined at. I pretty much knew what I was going to order, but still wanted to browse the menu. They didn’t have a menu board displayed above the cashier which was disappointing. They did have the menu on an 8.5×11 size display right in front of the register as well as trifold menus that you could take with you. I got my usual(The LuAnn with fried fish, fried okra, and new potatoes). It also came with a roll(I opted for whole wheat) and tartar sauce per request. The service was incredibly fast! From the time I parked until the time I walked back to my car, I think the entire process took between 5 – 8 minutes(definitely less than 10 minutes). The young woman at the cashier was very friendly. She showed me my food once it was boxed up to make sure everything was correct. Once I got home, I devoured it! I probably should have gotten the combo meal instead of the LuAnn. The fried fish was as good as I remember it being and the tartar sauce was delicious! The okra was good. It wasn’t overly salted, however it could have been a little bit more crispy. The new potatoes were really good. I could taste some salt on them, but it wasn’t overkill. The dinner roll was nice and soft. All in all, a damn good meal. The price was a little bit more than I was expecting($ 8 and some change), but I expected it to be at least $ 6 given the fact that it’s a «home cooked» meal, not fast food. I really need to try some of their other dishes but I’m such a creature of habit. Whenever I need my comfort food fix, I know where I will be going.

This Luby’s stays super busy and I’m guessing because it’s such an easy area for people to get to. However the food is okay, sometimes hit or mess, the sweet tea is always HIT! I’ll return back but only if I’m in the area.

The fellow at the salad bar and the cashier were friendly. Food display looked good. Décor is nice. Ordered the baked fish. Did not taste fresh. I grew up on Gulf Coast. I know fresh seafood. Fried orca very salty. Rest of the employees were rather unconcerned. I’ll come back someday. Just won’t eat that fish again.

I liked coming here because the food is great, but yesterday was a shock. As I walked in looking for a table to sit I noticed most booths were covered with plates. The tables were dirty and no one seemed to care about clean off the mess. I stood there looking around and saw no one in a hurry to clean this mess up. I saw the servers walk back and forth but nothing. In the corner of the restaurant I can see about four servers sitting having there lunch and laughing and talking, that’s fine but four at the same time? my wife got her food first and she ate. This side of the restaurant was a little better but I can see the server didn’t bother wiping the tables that good. At least the dishes were picked up. We moved tables because some guy was smoking in the booth next to us. I didn’t notice there was smoking allowed here or not cause there is no sign. The other side was the one that still had dishes piled up since we got there. I then went to get my food, the girls at the counter were great at getting my food but the girl at the register was playing around with other servers, so I had to wait till she was done so she can ring me up. We sat there looking and waiting to see how long it would take for them to clean off the tables. I could not believe it was an hour already and about five tables still had the same dirty dishes. Server came by just to tell me she would be our server but never came around again. Well the manager should be fired by now, guess they didn’t have one on duty, a male server was keeping HIS area clean but still left the same tables with the dishes piled up. I was very surprised at how lazy and dirty the employees are. I know it might not be the tables you are working but don’t leave the mess just sitting there. Well I know nobody deserves a tip around here if you only come by just to tell us your name, so we just left.

I went in for lunch with my children. While eating my salad I noticed a couple of baby white spiders. The table server quickly tried to resolve the situation. The manager took about 20 minutes to give me a 60 cent credit which is the difference between a side and a salad. The manager didn’t even bother to come by the table. I felt sorry for the server for having to bring back the receipt.

They always run out of food way before closing. Its very irritating, this had happened on 3 different occasions.

I love that kids eat free Wednesday evening and all day Saturday!!! As far as cafeteria food goes, you really cannot do worse than Luby’s. I suppose that is my way of saying that the food is pretty good.

DANG!!! This Luby’s puts my location to shame! Took my baby boo-thang to lunch here last week. This place is really nice and everything is new. I loved the layout. Food is pretty consistent with other locations but they did have a hiccup with my food. I ordered the chicken strips for my baby and they weren’t ready so we got a number. 25+minutes later– still no chicken. By now I am done and my son has eaten his other food so I decide to cancel my order. I asked the waiter to take care of it– minutes later he comes back with my chicken strips, a slice of cheesecake AND my money. Talk about covering their bases! I left happy! *smiley face*
