Awesome diner! Had the best eggs Benedict, definitely some of the best hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had.

This is an old school diner like you see in the movies. Small, quaint and cozy. You can sit at the bar and watch the guy cook in front of you. I wasn’t born then but it reminds me of the 60’s, lol. I’ve been there for breakfast two times and it was very good both times. I recommend«The Sean» platter. This place will be a must stop for me whenever I am in town.

This is the best, sweetest little place with delicious food, attentive staff, good prices, and true community spirit. I live over a half hour away, but my husband and I LOVE to drive down here for breakfast!

One of the last of a disappering breed of homey, cozy places serving great anything. Best NE Clam chowder and homemade corned beef hash. Actually anything made by this cheerful crew is delicious and worth the drive.

OMGDELICIOUSNESS! ! We all had the Sean and we all fell in love with the butter cream pancakes. Folks ate super friendly, old diner was made from old rail cars. Quaint, cute and full of fun. Food was fantastic.

Perfect classic diner experience! Nice people, great simple food. I had eggs and meat over hard, with hash browns(not shaved eggs!) Pancake for my son and an omelette with fresh Veges for my wife.‘ We learned about the diner’s 90 year history too.

Tiny, cute, friendly little diner recommended by our hosts during a visit. We had lunch, and the specials were a salmon blt and a Guinness-infused brat in a pretzel bun– pretty ambitious for a diner. So we had both along with the onion soup. And coconut cream pie, which is my favorite. Cuz ya gotta have pie at a diner. It was a cute little place, a good value and worth a visit. Diner food would normally rate only one star on my scale, so nice job. I hear it’s a local favorite and the community rallied behind them after a recent flood.

Drove 52 miles for breakfast!!! It was great. had the Sean. Wife had lunch. Chicken salad sandwich… only fair… We both enjoyed the staff and the friendly atmosphere… The old fashion railroad car. And décor was neat. Thanks to other reviews. … We were prepared for the«dumpy» exterior and true to the reviews the place was clean! And cute inside

I came in for a to go order on a Monday afternoon. Got the big Steve(biscuit and gravy over potatoes) and a chicken sandwich and they did not disappoint. I was very content with the big Steve. Although I’d like to try something else next time, maybe a burger. The staff are very friendly. It’s everything you’d liker in a small local dinner.

This is a great little place! The Wagner across the street gets the crowds, but I prefer the Penn Yan Diner. Tiny, adorable dining car style joint with a friendly staff. This morning our omelets were perfect. Hers was with tasty home fries, mine was with a side of great, home made corned beef hash. Wow. Fresh veggies and cheese in a soft eggy envelope. Somebody in this kitchen really knows what they’re doing. I’ve only had breakfast here, but I owe it to my stomach to try more on the menu. Please try the Penn Yan Diner, but keep it a secret.

Charming local diner with really great food! I had the biscuits and gravy with home fries and scrambled eggs. Generous servings and friendly quick service but hands down those were the best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had! Yummy!

I love this place… have been there many times and never a bad experience. Food is always fresh and very well made. The soups always taste homemade, the breakfasts are outstanding. Sandwiches are always well done. Service is great, the place is clean and very inviting. If it’s busy it can be a bit cramped, and unfortunately they no longer serve dinner. For breakfast and lunch though, I don’t think you’ll find a better place in Penn Yan. HIGHLY recommend!

Delivered on the diner experience! This has been closed or sold but now is back and humming… so wanted to check it out having once seen it years ago traveling through. It seemed to have authenticity on its side and something my shoe, schnauzer, or top-hat would have stopped at between Atlantic Ave. and passing Go… just to make a call to a bookie and grabbing some eggs over easy and a package of Kents as TW might say. Came for breakfast on a Tuesday morn. The gals running the place were friendly, efficient, and kept the Java flowing. My eggs, ham, and toast puyfecto… the pancake bites I borrowed were good too!(Buckwheat and not too sweet). The homefries were on the greasy side for my taste but the way most expect ‘em from a breakfast grill. Altogether thumbs up in my book.(The breakfast book, i assume)
