Came here for my baby cousins 20th birthday. We were a large party(15 – 20) so they said we wouldn’t be able to all sit at one table because their only long one was already being used. We were seated in 3 separate booths and began ordering drinks. About 10 – 15 minutes after being seated we were told by our waitress that we could move to the center of the restaurant where we could pull 3 tables so we could all sit together. So we picked up our belongings and moved. We were in the middle of ordering when a man working in the restaurant came to the table and aggressively started yelling about the tables being moved. When we attempted to explain that the waitress had given us permission he stated«if you’re going to argue you can leave. You don’t have to eat here.» We were taken aback but said we weren’t arguing but explaining. He went on to say that the restaurant was his home and he wouldn’t come to our home and move furniture. We told him that this wasn’t a home but he should check with his waitress. By this time we had already moved the table back. We pointed out we’d moved the table but he just shouted«I’ll take care of your drinks and you can leave» I asked the waitress what his name was and she informed me his name was Steve and he was a manager. However, when he approached the table he introduced himself as a co-owner. Although we asked for contact for the corporate office we did not receive it. We then asked who was above Steve and we were not given that information either. While attempting to leave we were stopped by another customer who overheard us discussing the incident. He informed us that we were wrong. Steve was not having a bad day but he was this way all the time with ethnic customers. Which is why he will not sit in his area. So at the end of this we still are unsure if Steve is part owner, server, or kitchen worker(based on his clothes). We ended up going to Cheddars across the lot. The seated our large party and were attentive and respectful. Will go back to Cheddars but FD can take solace in the fact that we will be taking their advice. We DONOTHAVETOEATTHERE… so we won’t. Our business will go where we can be treated as paying customers should.

We came here for a birthday dinner with about 20 people we asked to all sit together and they said they didn’t have the tables for it so they sat us at different booths. Fine, it’s all good. We ordered drinks and they came out. Minutes later the waitress says we can move and they’ll push tables together. They gave us 4 tables but only pushed 3 together so I pushed the other one together. I kid you not a guy named Steve comes up and says«we can’t be pushing tables together» I replied with«but our waitress said we could, we we’re moved here by her». As I’m moving the table back to where it was he says«if y’all don’t like our dining arrangement you don’t have to eat here» I said«the table is back, thank you» He starts going off about you don’t move furniture at someone’s house you visit so why would you do it here, y’all can leave, and keeps repeating you don’t have to eat here. We keep trying to explain we were moved here and they(FDs) pushed the tables together but he wasn’t hearing it. He then says«you guys need to leave, I’ll pay for your drinks» Mind you we’ve got 20 folks trying to celebrate a birthday, hundreds of dollars coming their way. We got up to leave and as we’re walking out someone tells my sister he’s like that with all«ethnic» people and doesn’t like them eating there. My thing is THEY are the ones who moved us and pushed the tables together. Not only that as soon as he said it was a problem WEMOVEDITBACK. Please please don’t tell me it’s really cause we’re «ethnic». I’m 26 and I’ve never been discriminated against until today. You see this happening on the news and social media but it’s an eye opener when it happens to you. We packed up and went across to Cheddars, not where we wanted to be but they went above and beyond for us.

A nice place with great selection, at a good price. The peach tea could rival a certain pasta place. I ordered steak and blackened shrimp, and a side of sweet potatoes, I ordered the steak rare, which it came, the steak was relatively juicy and had a good taste. The blackened shrimp was very good, a bit of a bite with some buttery flavor. The sweet potatoes was great! It came with roasted marsh mellows. I tasted my mother’s spinach dip pasta, it’s flavors started out well but then flattens out. This place has a lot going for it, but the service could be improved, Dylan. C was not a bad waiter but was far from good. I asked if they had Lea&Perrin’s, his response was I don’t know, not let me go check for you, he had this dumbfounded look like I asked him to recite the preamble of the constitution. he was fairly attentive in the beginning but disappeared for time to which point. I asked another waiter to ask him to bring another tea. At first I wanted to chop it up to him being a millennial, but then I thought he could be taught to do better. He was the scratch in a beautiful paint job. But I believe in you Dylan, Otherwise a great dinning experience.

The server was very attentive. The food came out reasonably quick and hot. The blackened catfish was excellent. The grilled salmon was excellent. The crab cake was very good, need a better sauce to go with it. The grilled shrimp were excellent. The fried shrimp were very good. The cold slaw was excellent. The red beans was good.

Many years ago I was a waiter, I can and will lavish complements for good food and attentive service. This is not one of those times. It took about five(5) minutes for the waiter to arrive at our table and take our drink order. Five more minutes for us to receive our drinks, at which time we insisted on placing our food order. From the time that we ordered our food to the time we were able to start eating, 30 minutes. The grilled shrimp overcooked and rubbery, the salmon, overcooked and dry, the Crawfish Ettouffee was nondescript at best. The only positive spin I have is the service we received wasn’t the worst at that time. The table next to us had eight people in the party, the first two received their food and started eating, the other six received their food 25 minutes later. I am sure I will never return.

They changed their name to FD. Nikki was my server-bartender. Great service and keeps her area clean. Would ask for her next time. Had the chicken tenders and grilled shrimp. The salad had nuts and a delicious dressing. Loaded bake potato.

Now known as FD’s Grillhouse, inside the menu and the décor is the same Fish Daddy’s with a touch more upscale. The prices are affordable for what you get and there is much to choose from. Personally, I wish they’d tone down the green and red chopped peppers that seem to frequent some of my favorite choices like the gumbo and the teriyaki chicken but I am always satisfied when I leave. They can accommodate large parties and I’ve always had helpful wait staff. What always strikes me is the good value you get for what you order. Other similar places will charge you $ 5 more per item so I am willing to let slide some minor inconveniences. Overall, if you are looking for a good seafood/steak place with reasonable prices, FD’s should fit your wallet and your taste buds.

Luxurious interior design, best services and great flavor foods with very economic prices. Personally, grilled shrimp and crawfish ettuoffee is my favorite. If you do not like salty taste, you need to ask not put too much salt. Fried catfish is so tender, very good. My secrete question to retrieve password in the web«What is your favorite restaurant ? «Fish Daddy» You will not regret family time or with your friends.

I used to love this place, they changed everything and removed all of the good stuff; stuffed shrimp and crab dip because of this I will never go to this restaurant again. There’s no reason to its a shame because it sure was good

Fish Daddy’s was like any other slightly«upscale» chain restaurant from a professional restaurant company. Very well decorated, very well staffed. I had fried catfish and shrimp with red beans and rice and matchstick veggies. The fry-job was great! I really, really enjoyed my main. The veggies were more julienne than matchstick, and covered in butter. There was a hint of garlic that I appreciated, but they were pretty bland. I had one piece of sausage in my red beans and rice, but they tasted good and weren’t glue-y. The best part was that all of my food came out to less than $ 15, and the restaurant wasn’t crazy busy. I would go here again, it was perfect for a working lunch with coworkers.

Super good and pretty cheap for the quality and quantity of food you get! I got the lunch portion of the tilapia and my boyfriend got the salmon and they were both very delicious. The inside of this place looks like an upscale(in a way) restaurant. And the food is great! I would come here again.

AMAZINGCUSTOMERSERVICE We came here with my vegan friend on a limb hoping there would be something other than a house salad for him. Unfortunately there was, we were on our way out the door when Steve asked us why we’re leaving. We told him why and he assured us he would make us something different that wasn’t on the menu. He checked with my friend multiple times so he would be satisfied. We haven’t been here for a few years and don’t know why we stopped, this place was great with a great staff and great food! The spinach dip pasta was amazing! THANKYOUSOMUCHSTEVE

We really like this place. Always great and fresh and love that there are actually some from-scratch items. Which is rare for a chain! Service varies depending on who you get, like most chains. But normally servers on hand have it together.

Just left the restaurant and couldn’t wait to write a review! Holy cow, what a great place. The food selection is amazing and the service is way above par! Personal thanks to Steve for greeting us and walking us through the menu right as we walked in. My wife is on a pretty specific diet so it’s often hard for us to find places we can sit down and eat for such a great price. And the service/attitude we received from the staff was really invaluable, I would pay more to eat here!

They’ve remodeled and changed their name to FD’s Grillhouse. I dig it. The interior looks great. The menu is abbreviated, but I was still able to get my Mahi Mahi Alexander and the house salad with apples and candied walnuts. My husband and I split the plate with a baked potato and vegetables, as well as the two salads for $ 25. They have a lunch menu with good looking options in the $ 7 range; I’ll come back during lunch time for sure. Robbie was our server and he was great. Always prompt and you could see he was constantly working. Very efficient– we were in and out in under 30 minutes, though it wasn’t crowded. My only complaint is that there isn’t one south.

The Grilled Trout with shrimp on top was great as were the match-stick vegetables and cole slaw… One bummer was they no longer do take out… it’s become a dine in only restaurant so I couldn’t order a take out for my wife. Ken

It’s not Fish Daddys! It’s call FDs Grill! It suppose to be chic… upscale! It’s too noisy, certain drinks have gone up, use to get a big margarita for only $ 4 now it is smaller and $ 5. Everything is not on the menu like before, you have to ask for it. Glad the waitress is nice and friendly. The bar is crowded, people cursing, and talking above normal… music blasting. I will not bring any kids here from now on. Doubt if I will be making the trip from Killeen now. The blackened catfish wasn’t cook long enough and the carrots in the rice was hard!!! I wished the margarita was in another type of glass! Pictures to follow!

I had never been here in all my years in Austin. I finally took my wife and baby boy here because we had the taste for some good seafood and it’s not always easy to find that here in Austin. We had to wait a few minutes, but thankfully for a Friday evening it was not as jam-packed and busy like all the other restaurants in Austin! I liked the overall appearance of the place, and it’s kind of a decent place to have a romantic dinner, but the noise of people’s conversations and waiting services is about as loud as your typical Chili’s or Olive Garden. I do know my wife had a margarita that was made very well, one of the best she’s had in any of the restaurants we’ve ate at in this city. I think they could have seasoned the broccoli I ordered a lot better, but other than that, the amount of food for the price is phenomenal. The plates and portions are pretty big for a seafood restaurant. Neither of us could eat everything so we had to take some to go. I would go here again with my wife.

prices VERY reasonable! We each had a glass of wine, we had an appetizer and two entrees, and the bill topped out at $ 32. You can’t beat that. Date had fried catfish, tasty with very generous portions. The gumbo and salad were pretty good as well. It was neither loud nor crowded when we were there. It’s not exactly a foodie place, but it’s good value for money and the food is decent.

I came by for lunch with my boyfriend on a Friday afternoon and everything was great! We both ordered the catfish lunch plate, which was a really big serving, and got the firecracker shrimp as an appetizer. Everything we ordered tasted great, and all the food came out in under five minutes! The best part was that lunch for two with an appetizer was only $ 20! We will definitely come back for some more yummy fried catfish!

We had a pretty good experience here on Saturday night, wasn’t very crowded and upon entering the restaurant, you are greeted by a giant fish tank. The hostess wasn’t there at first but didn’t take too long to greet us. We were seated by the bar, which seemed to have more people hanging out there because the drinks are pretty cheap! I got a giant margarita for $ 4, they also have run of the mill beer and wine selections. Looked like the other mixed drinks were decent as well. We were not that hungry so I just got a half order of fish tacos and a salad. Honey got the shrimp and Tilapia. My house salad was pretty good, I liked the lemon vinaigrette dressing… their croutons are a little weird though, they are sweet. My fish tacos were pretty large for a half hour and came with a delightful dipping sauce, some kind of chipotle aioli. The fries were good as well. My honey’s shrimp were a bit overcooked but had a good flavor, the rice and beans were good and the broccoli was also standard(but they did put cheese on them for us at the waitress’s recommendation). Service was great and the bill was the best part, for my drink and two dinners it was only $ 24. We will definitely be back, not the best not the worst but close to home and easy on the wallet!

I love fish. Raw, baked, grilled, fried, call me. Stopped in here for some salmon and fried shrimp. I got the grilled salmon with buttered corn and cole slaw. I expected good food. We got MEH to sub-par. Big disappointment. First of all the shrimp looked anorexic and appeared as though someone sliced their scrawny asses in half. More breading than shrimp. Ain’t nobody got no time for this! My salmon was another freaking flop. The salmon was served on a bed of seasoned rice and for my two sides I chose buttered corn and slaw. While the salmon looked like it was cooked right it tasted like it was over cooked. It was strange tasting. No salmon flavor at all and very salty. Not a good piece of salmon. Definitely won’t do that again. As for the buttered corn. Sheesh! It was more like corned butter. Soo much butter it was nauseating. The slaw was another flop, but, just what you’d expect in a place like this I reckon. Probably the salad was the only decent dish. Mixed greens, candied walnuts, and, a pearl tomato. It was supposed to include apple slices. Guess they forgot those. Nah. Nothing warrants a return visit here. Definitely not a place for my fish fix! One star for friendly service. NASTY!
