Great food and excellent service! We are here on a Friday night, and even though the place is packed everything was wonderful! We really appreciated our server offering a free sampling of one of the wines I wasn’t familiar with. Although busy, service is upbeat, attentive and friendly.

Driving by and stopped in for dinner. I had the best pork carnitas tacos. I would definitely come back just for those. 2 tacos and I am full. Great prices and Shawna knew the menu well and explained everything before we asked. Thanks Shawna we really appreciate it and you were right about the tacos. Very delicious.

I thought this place was better than average. The décor is nice, dark wood, vaulted ceilings so it’s airy. The menu is typical and a huge selection of beer. Our server was very nice and had quite a few tables but it didn’t affect the good service. He knew a lot about the beers available. It was crowded for a Wednesday night at 7pm. A steady stream of customers and nearly every table was full but there wasn’t a wait to be seated. We had the ahi burger, carnitas and ahi tacos, and the pretzel appetizer. Everything was very good. Would I seek this place out next time I return to the area? Maybe not but its nice to know its there.

Great for watching games and drinking bear. They had a hazelnut Stout that I loved.

Pretty OK beer selection and one of the better late night drink options in that area if you consider 10pm late night and don’t want to go clubbing.

A Tuesday lunch. We had been here previously and I had ordered the chicken street tacos. They were great so was planning on another round. This time, however, not so good. Watery and rather tasteless. There were only three to four other parties in the restaurant area — with two servers — but ours didn’t seem that attentive. I would try it again but would likely order something different.

I’m very disappointed in the turnover in staff. The place is not the same without Erica. Almost all new faces is going to hurt their biz. I was in there the other night and things were slow and everyone was trying to figure it out. The vibe is different I am way less pumped bout my local spot. Update. Food seems to have gone down hill. Even with the increase in pricing the quality of the ahi was not good tonight. I used to say five stars, but now it’s just another tourist trap here on the central coast.

This place is amazing!!! My husband and I love to try restaurant all over the state and I must say this makes the the top five. The food is very creative delicious and the Decour is beautiful weather you sit inside or outside! Don’t get me started on the price they are so reasonable specially for the quality of the food! Also they have a great variety of beers and will let you sample before you choose

This is a must if you are in the Shell Beach area. We came in as a party of nine on a Saturday afternoon, with no reservation and were seated with a smile! Atmosphere is «gastro pub». The ahi poke is to die for. Our server was attentive and spot on. The beer selection had something for every one. And food is fresh and creative .If you can find room on the patio there is some imaginative people watching in a very relaxed atmosphere

I never felt satisfaction in a burger like I did tonight. I had the fat back burger and it was the most amazing burger I’ve ever had. The brew house is a family friendly place, and the service was great. The place gets pretty packed at night. My family and i had a wonderful time. Now that I’ve tried this place it will be hard to keep me away. I have to say i definitely fell in love all over again tonight.

Must try: Caribbean Jerk buffalo wings! When we first ordered it we asked half and half of maple chipotle and caribbean jerk, but the latter was so savory that we asked for a second plate. They serve it w/blue cheese but w/o any celery. We also liked their tacos w/have unique variety like ahi tuna and korean beef.

We stopped by for happy hour and I’ve gotta tell ya we were happy indeed. Good inexpensive stiff margaritas. There was an appetizers deal that if you ordered two you’d get a third free, we only ordered one but it was delicious. Great entrée selections, we enjoyed everything we ordered but the best part of Shell Beach Brewhouse is the service. Shawn was our server and he was great, he was very attentive and made sure we never ran dry during our stay and I appreciate that. We had a blast and we will absolutely be back.

My wife and I tried Shell Beach Brewhouse for the first time while renting a cottage nearby. We both enjoyed our experience, and will for sure go back next time we visit Pismo Beach. We decided to make an early dinner on a recent weeknight as we learned they have a happy hour from 4−6pm. They weren’t too busy when we got there, just a few folks in the bar. The crowd did pick up as it got more into traditional dinner time, but was not at any point«busy». As is our custom, we sat in the bar. Beer and wine selection both quite good. The bartender knew all the beers and wines, and was able to make recommendations based on what we like. They do have a full bar, but neither of us felt like having mixed drinks. From the time we sat down to the time we left, both bartenders were very attentive and made sure our glasses never got empty. For dinner we decided to take advantage of the buy-two-get-one-free starters, and we had the house made potato chips(broadstreet style), the buffalo wings, and the pretzel sticks. The home made chips were okay, but I’d probably not order again. The wings and the pretzel sticks were both very tasty, and those I’d recommend to anyone. Unfortunately the appetizers filled us up, so did not try any of the burgers, sandwiches, or dinners. Will have to get past the appetizers next visit. The location is good, right on Shell Beach road(turns into Price street in Pismo). We were staying close enough that we walked to the Brewhouse, but if you are driving then the parking might require finding a place on the street. There was a small parking lot adjacent, but didn’t look like it would hold enough cars if this place was really full. The atmosphere is «gastropub», nice and at same time casual. There is a small patio in the front, and this was actually getting decent use by other happy-hour patrons while we were there.

I’m going to share a story about a hair and a manager who didn’t care. Been to the brewhouse about a dozen times, it WAS our go to spot to take our guests, however our recent experience will have us taking our business elsewhere. My friend discovered a hair in her brussel spouts towards the end of eating them. We get it, these things happen. We brought our waiter over and showed him and he told us he needed to show his manager. A simple conversation and apology is what we expected we’d get, as that is pretty standard, however the«manager» came over, didnt say a word to us, put our check on the table, and said«here’s this», and walked away. Excuse you! What customer service training did you go to as a manager? When I emailed the brewhouse about this situation, and another recent customer service issue we had had with a server, I received a response from a managing partner who apologized and asked that we come to the brewhouse to discuss the issue, as she was SO «concerned» of losing customers. I replied back with a potential date and time to discuss these issues and almost 10 days later have heard nothing back. Guess you really dont want those important customers back after all. So long Shell Beach Brewhouse, hello Figueroa Mtn Taproom!

I’ve been here a couple times, and honestly I come here for the wings… I enjoy them, but I prefer getting them dry with the sauce on the side. Their full pound order came with about 8 pieces. I leaned toward the Spicy Carribean jerk sauce and also the Garlic Balsamic – delicious! Also the Ono Kettle Chips are just that… Ono! Especially with the truffle garlic! I would like to come back and try their Chocolate Espresso Mud Pie… sounds Amazing!

First time in the Pismo Beach, San Luis Obispo area and we decided to check out a brew house. This brew house wasn’t too bad. A very chill place that was good for the family. Service was good and the food was tasty. I had the blue shroom burger which hit the spot, but I feel there was too much Gorgonzola cheese in my burger, that took away from the flavor of the shitaki mushrooms. The wife had the ahi tuna burger which she enjoyed and said it was bigger than she was expecting it to be. My side dish was their Brussel sprouts and green apples… very tasty and I actually would have ate more or ordered more if I wasn’t so full. Overall was a nice experience, ambiance wasn’t too loud and excellent choices in beer ranging from local and throughout the state. I would give the A 3.5 but you can’t give ½ stars.

Love Shellbeach Brewhouse! Full bar… good cocktails and selection of beer and wine. Food is so good! Korean beef tacos are one of my favorites. Pretty good service most of the time and a great atmosphere.

This historic and recently renovated building was a great place to handle our large party of about 15 people! It was evening when my family arrived here and I noticed right off that this place was probably a part of the Shell Beach community for many, many years. But the Brewhouse restaurant and sports bar is a fairly new establishment. My uncle brought us here so we could have a nice family dinner together. It also helps that since this a brew house that serves a multitude of beer selections, the beer connoisseurs and winos amongst us will no doubt be happily satisfied! The place was very busy and buzzing with a large crowd of customers, along with the many TV’s located all around the dining room and lounge. They keep the lighting dim both inside and out, so I wouldn’t suggest that this type of atmosphere be a place to spend a romantic evening with someone! However, I did like the subdued lighting to have dinner by. We didn’t have to wait very long as the staff put several tables side by side in an elongated fashion accommodating us to sit together banquet style. When we received the menus, I was pleasantly surprised at the many delicious looking selections that were available for just about any appetite and even a few dietary restricted options. But I would say the majority of the dishes were comfort foods galore! Our waiter Scott was very kind and patient as he took each and every one of our orders — some easy, others complicated. It seemed like everyone was ordering something different from the menu. I had the Baja Street Salad which consisted of mixed greens, oaxoacan cheese, diced tomato, diced onion, avocado, cilantro, tortilla shards and a red ranch dressing. The salad was huge and seemed more like of a pile of lettuce when it first arrived. As I slowly worked my way into the mound, I discovered that most of the other ingredients were hidden below. The salad was very good, but the dressing a little too spicy. Other than that, I did enjoy the salad and everyone else seemed to like their food as well. The food, the great selections of beer & wine and the wait staff did an awesome job of taking care of our loud and boisterous party! It looked like we blended in well with all the other patrons in the restaurant. I’m sure they are trained to handle the rowdy, beach town, sports bar crowd like this on a daily basis! I guess that’s why my aunt and uncle like this place!
