I really enjoyed eating here! I had never tried a Mr. Pickles eatery before, and I found it pleasurable. The kid meals are huge. I had the BLT on sourdough roll, and I thought the roll was slightly chewy… but I ate every bite!

I don’t profess to traveling the world and stopping at every deli I come across, but I do occasionally crave a good sandwich. Enter Mr. Pickle’s. Yes, it’s a chain. Yes, it’s a… unique name. However, they pretty much blow everyone else out of the water.
I’m working my way through almost every item on the menu. Then perhaps the owner Darin and his team will name a «sandwich of the month» after me or something? My only wish is that there was one closer to my house.
Bottom line: if you haven’t been, go. If you’ve been, go back.

Consistency is lacking, at least at this location. By that I mean both the customer service and the food. Some times I go and the food is delicious, other times it just so-​so. Though, even on the so-​so days it still beats subway. If you go through the drive-​thru, go before noon or else you’ll be waiting a LONG time.

My family was heading up the hill recently and we stopped by Mr. Pickles in Placerville. We’d been there before, but were not impressed. After hearing it was under new ownership we thought we’d give it another try. Wow, what a difference! Fantastic, large, fresh sandwiches. I just read a review by Jeremiah N. in which he suggested the staff used to be friendly. Friendly? Really? He must have been mistaking «high on drugs» for friendly. Regardless, congrats to the new owner for cleaning the place up and bringing it back to the Mr. Pickles standard I expect!

Not impressed with new ownership. They cleared out old, friendly staff and replaced with Folsom transplants. I went in yesterday and people were cold and unwelcoming. I ordered my sandwich and when I went to pay the young kid was on his phone taking an obviously social call. Didn’t acknowledge me at all. Pretty disappointing. Bring back the old employees!

I had never been to a Mr. Pickles, but we had just moved to the area and thought I would give them a try. IT was one of the best sandwiches I had ever eaten. Everything was fresh and made to your liking. I will go there again (and again and again)

Here’s my Mr. pickles Turkey beacon sandwich! Or should I say Turkey sandwich what a joke! For the price no way it it worth it i’m shocked that they would send something out like that! where’s the beacon?

Normally Mr. Pickles it’s my favorite, but I went the other day and they made my sandwich wrong. I understand they were busy but that is my biggest pet peeve especially since I’ve worked in the fast food industry. Accuracy is always better than speed.

If I could give zero stars I would. We like Mr Pickles (prefer Gallardis) and we sometimes like to grab some on the way home. Every single time we’ve come here they are closed. I seriously don’t understand how they are still in business.

11 – 3 on Sunday?! Really? This is the last time I’ll be swinging by only to be disappointed. Even your employees are at a loss for why you aren’t open longer. I receive an embarrassed apology every time I come. I’d love to give you business, but just can’t anymore. Fail.

Pastrami on marbled rye oh how I love thee! I am a sandwich fanatic! I think about this amazing sandwich all the time. The bread is fresh, sliced thick, and texture perfect. The pastrami is piled high with Swiss on top. It is that quality deli-​licious flavorful non fatty meat. This is the kind of sandwich where no words are exchanged the whole time we are eating, because it is too good to put down! We stop here anytime we travel from Tahoe. Of course we try and hit up all our favorites when we leave the hill, because we are deprived. Although a beautiful place, good food selection is not something you will find in South Lake. Also served with fresh hot chocolate chip cookie. Love you guys! See you soon :)

I have eaten here before when they first opened so came back today and was told we are closing in 15 minutes and all we have left is one roll… so I left disappointed and still hungry.
Review update: Returned again, months later and earlier in the day for a sandwich — better results this time, had my choice of breads and fixin’s. Sandwich is generous and a good value for the price. The staff just don’t seem to engage with the customers, which I understand that the majority of the customers drop in and order a sandwich then leave, but I have never felt really ‘welcome’ here, more like I am interrupting their conversations and bothering them.

How do i describe this place… as a kid i thought it was amazing but now its very average and thus deserves a 2.5−3 stars.
I always get the chicken salad with cranberry sauce. which is the reason i like this place a lot more than place like subway… im a cranberry guy… got a problem with it!
But I pride myself on my honesty in reviewing places… there is nothing special nor evil about this place. Perhaps a little overpriced… but guess what at least they dont pretend to have a five dollar footlong sandwich that is actually 8 dollars.
They got some yummy dutch crunch bread… and uh… how much more is there to say about a sandwich place.
THE VERDICT: do you like sandwiches? no… dont go here. yes… try it out see if there is a sandwich you like. but please please please do not go out of your way to eat here.

Another GREAT sandwich from Mr. Pickels! Always fresh and tasty! My favorite is the Hang Loose with everything on it plus jalepenos! Have it made on Dutch Crunch bread and there’s not a better sandwich in town. Great service, clean restaurant. If you haven’t tried them yet, what are you waiting for???
