Food wasn’t the Best, but the service was excellent. kinda disappointed that the only Italian food place in our town closed its door, because Owner /manager wants to explore other options.

Just had Mother’s Day dinner at Torino’s. Had the wait staff try to steal $ 200 plus the included tip on 13 seats. That would have been close to 300 dollars stolen on our check. Had a very similar thing happen at Bricks. Be careful of any business’s owned by these people. The business’s are Bricks, Cascada, and Torino’s in downtown Placerville. Just a fair warning.

My boyfriend and I came in on a Saturday night. I had the tortellini mama rosa and my boyfriend had a burger. From sitting down to leaving the service was great. Our waiter would come check on us in a timely manner but was not too overbearing or annoying and not to mention the food was really good! Once we were seated they let us know their prime rib was not up to their standards, which I thought was super nice! I will be coming back to try many more menu items!

My wife and I stopped in for dinner on a whim. We had a glass of wine at the bar and then sat down at our table. I had the steak sandwich and it was very good. The service was excellent and in particular our waiter Brian. The food and the ambience were good, but our waiter in particular Brian, as my wife put it, was extremely good looking and very efficient. We will definitely return!!!

Our first meal was last evening. Got there @7:30 not a problem getting seated. Very attentive staff. Their wine list is great, lots of local labels blended with Napa/Sonoma. My Cesar salad was very tasty. Had the scampi. Cooked in a nice light sauce. Vegetables were all fresh and pan fried. Nice. We will be back. Nice addition to Downtown Placerville.

My second time at Torino, first was before the menu change. It no longer has an Italian focus. I had the ahi salad which was almost inedible because the ahi was not fresh. Although seared appropriately and nicely plated, the fishy smell and taste couldn’t be disguised, even with extra sesame dressing. Also, the manager checked in too many times — felt like hovering. During dessert he told me I should have been in last week, when the Black Forest Cake was delicious… I was eating German Chocolate cake to flush the fish taste out of my mouth. My cake was dry, but had extra whipped cream… maybe to cover up the day-old problem. Torino is the 3rd restaurant on Main St for this family. Cascada and Bricks are better.

First time here. GREAT food, friendly family service. I had the muscles and the misses had an amazing maple bacon pork chop. Cheesecake and espresso for dessert. Every dish was amazing! Our new favorite resteraunt!

I had lunch here with a girlfriend. Nice atmosphere and good service. I had the ahi salad which I found very pedestrian. I ordered the ahi rare and it was just about cooked through. I wish I had ordered something else. My friend had the crab sandwich which she liked, so I may give it another try.

The waitstaff was very nice, but things kept going wrong. One of our party didn’t get her dinner, and finally it was discovered it hadn’t been ordered from the kitchen. Then I was charged twice, once for half of the dinner(which was split) and again for the whole meal. When I called the following week to get my money refunded, I was told a manager would call me back to take care of the error. This never happened. Such a bummer. It looks like a nice place and everyone is very freindly the food was pretty good. But the experinece was pretty terrible, and costly!

Our first time here and it will be the last. We started with calamari and it was ‘pretty good’…my words exactly as I blurted it out to my husband. Then our main course came and it went downhill from there. I had the pork tenderloin saltimbocca– very bland — yet, the outer coating was quite salty; topped with what I refer to as ‘grease’ sauce. The potatoes were also overcooked, dry and once again, greasy. My husband ordered veal and his exact words were, ‘don’t order pass the appetizers’ We both have strong back grounds in food and are quite the foodies eating from 5 star-rated restaurants to hole-in-the-wall establishments; so trust me when I say that I’ve had a more satisfying experience with the Italian sandwich at Burger King…

Places is too loud for me to think. Not that I went out to eat for that reason, but would love to hear the convo at my table. Food was… Okay

After trying Torino’s when they first opened, I owed it to them and myself to see if they have worked out the kinks. I am pleased to say that YES they have. My wife and I were very pleased with both the service and food tonight. We weren’t familiar with a draft beer on the menu, so Brian brought us a sample to try. A little too strong for our taste so we both ordered Stella’s which were brought promptly and with the frosty glass I missed so much from our first visit. We ordered the deep fried prosciutto wrapped mozzarella sticks with marinara and really enjoyed this decadent appetizer. My wife’s entrée was the Tortellini Mama Rosa which has a beautiful tomato and basil vodka cream sauce. I ordered the Lasagna and found the portion to be HUGE! It was surprisingly light and delicate however and I appreciated being full but not stuffed. To complement the meal we were brought absolutely tasty garlic cheese bread which made everything just that much better. This time our experience was truly wonderful and we look forward to enjoying other items of interest on their extensive menu. We also noticed how there were no smokers out on Main Street blowing smoke into the restaurant like our previous visit. Main Street has so much charm and having a great Italian place that’s family friendly just adds to that charm. Kudos to staff and management for recognizing a few short comings and working hard to correct them.

Ambiance: Excellent décor, clean, well-lit, beautifully painted. Extraordinarily loud due to high ceilings and hardwood floors. No booths. Full bar, off to the side, very pretty. Service: Been here three times, it’s been consistently quite good. Food: Really, just ok. The dishes are a mix of some of the most predictable Italian meals(lasagna, spaghetti & meatballs, etc) and some others that are American-Italian and unconventional. There are very few light choices. The pastas are a little overcooked and covered in cheese or cream sauce. Their red sauce is too salty and bland and has been cooked so long it has no fresh tomato flavor. Really, everything I’ve had has been salty and bland. They use a depressingly inadequate amount of garlic. Italian restaurants are supposed to smell like garlic when you walk in — this one doesn’t. There are no(or very few) fish dishes, and my absolute favorite Italian dishes — pasta del mar and cioppino — are both missing from the menu. You can get pasta in a clam sauce, but the clams are clearly canned and the sauce is runny. The PROSCIUTTOMOZZARELLASTICKS were excellent the first few times but then extremely overcooked the last time. Portions are huge, which helps make up for the price, but I’d rather have something that tastes really good. I’ve been here three times now and quite frankly I’ve had much better food at the Olive Garden for half the price.

I took my family here on the night of the beer feast in July. We were in th area dr the feat as my elderly mother wanted to see placer vile as we were in the are for a wedding. Nice. Décor good location, but that was all it had going for it. I had the crispy calimari salad. It was a plank of over breaded gummy calimari steak n a bed of soggy salad greens with an insipid dressing. I was expecting crispy… nope. And salad was use broadly here i would not have expected it to bee made from the greens used to sop up part of the grease from the deep fried thing they laid on it. My parent had a pasta with peas prosciutto and chicken. He comment .the chicken tasted water like it was boiled and the sauce was very salty. she made allowance for the prosciutto in her assessment. My lounger daughter had a capers e salad which was okay in her book except the vinegar was not a balsamic but tasted like cheap wine vinegar. Her risotto she said was glue and tasteless which is hard to do if you used the wild mushrooms they advertised. My elder daughter had as she put it something that had little resemblance to food. Her comment was it tasted like A trader joes dinner. My mother liked her chicken but was ill later. Basically not as good as Olive Garden much at a much higher price. Avoid this place. The pasta at the yardhouse in roseville was far superior in every way…

Placerville finally has an Italian restaurant, and it appears to be a winner! I had tonight’s special Parmesan-crusted Alaskan halibut with spinach and asparagus risotto and it was delicious! I heard the Cheesy Garlic Bread, Chicken Marsala, pesto prawns, Spaghetti with meatballs, and the Eggplant were also good! Matt was our server. He was courteous, friendly, and prompt. We got there pretty early for a Sunday(4:30pm) and it wasn’t busy. There were a few people at the full bar and we were seated right away. There is street parking and public city lot right next door. All five of us plan on returning to try other dishes.

Nice looking restaurant, but a little loud. Server was nice food came out fairly quickly. I had the beef tips mama rosa with tortellini and my girlfriend had the chicken Alfredo. The pasta tasted like your usual frozen stuff, beef an chicken were ok. Took quite a while to get our check. Definitely not worth the price. Will probably not come back.

Like all of their other restaurants, I was really excited to try out this one. Main Street has not had a good Italian restaurant in quite some time and this owner’s food is always top-notch. As far as service goes, it was perfect. Angie is wonderful and our server was prompt. In terms of the food it was very blah. The bread deserves 1 star and that instantly killed it for me. Italian restaurants should have great bread and it should come before the meal. At Torino’s they serve it with the meal, unless otherwise requested, and it is cold, dry, and bland rye-like bread. When going to an Italian I expect warm, garlic, cheese, herbs, etc. on my bread. If they were to revamp the bread it would feel a lot more authentic and welcoming. I had the caprese Panini for lunch and it was not the best. Again, the bread wasn’t right on it and there was too much cheese and usually, I could never have enough cheese. It needed more flavor so I added pesto, and it helped it out. But! The fries were very good and had a lot of flavor. As far as décor, it was absolutely beautiful! I loved the deep blue theme and low lighting. It was very romantic and comfortable.

I am SO excited that P’ville finally has an Italian Restaurant. Loved, Louisa, she was an OUTSTANDING cook… but that’s another story. We went the first week Torino’s was open. Friendly staff, and good food. I only have a few suggestions… The olive oil balsamic w/pepper flakes was great, but I could have bought better bread at Save Mart. I think most people would agree, Italian restaurants should have great bread. Hopefully this will change. Another thing, this might sound weird, but the chairs are really uncomfortable. I’m not sure if it’s because the table was too short or the chairs were too small, but I just didn’t want to hang out there. We are not huge people, but there were huge people there and it was almost funny to watch them sit and try to adjust, where do I put my knees? Where do I put my elbows? Oh, Mom told me not to do that. Anyway, I’m excited to see the Bricks, Casada and Colonia people put together another restaurant people want in Placerville, but I hope they make it more comfortable. When we go out to dinner, we want to relax and enjoy ourselves, I don’t want to feel like I’m balancing on a stool. We will come back, we’re not ones to give up on a new place as I know they a lot to figure out. They could use a few booths.

Any place that gets calamari right has my vote. We had lunch there today and the crispy calamari salad was fantastic. Fresh spring greens, tomatoes and thinly sliced red onions dressed in a delicious vinaigrette, all topped with a perfectly cooked calamari steak. The calamari was tender and coated with a crisp, flavorful breading. The truffle oil fries are delicious. My husband had the gourmet panini and raved about it. The vegetable panini got equal accolades from my mom. I can’t wait to go back and sample their pasta! It’s a lovely space, with tasteful décor. The tables aren’t crammed together, which is nice. The service is great, attentive without hovering. I have a new favorite place!

Arugula and Fennel Salad was perfect. Black Truffle Fries were thin and flavorful. Wine selection is fun and delicious. Pork Tenderloin was delicious and Veal Piccata was very well done. Flourless Chocolate Cake was decent. Limoncello was a first for me, and I was super impressed. Some improvements need to be made, perhaps plating design and lighting in dining room, but overall we were very impressed with this new addition to Placerville.
