Passed the deadly dozen wing challenge, didn’t get anything saying I did it, or recognition on the web like they said I would. They did give me and my buddy a bud light prize pack and comped our drinks which was cool but I didn’t do the challenge for a bud light prize pack I want proof of completion! I usually get the Buffalo insane wings or the garlic parm sauce less wings, good draught beer selection. I’d give them 4 stars but I’m upset about not getting that certificate of completion of the deadly dozen wing challenge!

I don’t know, this place seems to be overrated by the locals. Like most other reviews, the service is mediocre at best. They have their own sauce which is sold in stores, so you’d think their wings would be the best ever. But unlike other people on here, I just don’t see it. Their portions are too small to match the prices. The wings are good, sure, nothing I’d come back exclusively for, though. The environment is good, but the setup is poor, especially if you want to come for Sunday football. A lot of awkward tv placements. In all, it’s a bar known for its wings with prices that are too high for what that is.

I visited the Plainville Sliders location back on a Sunday night, 2⁄7. Anytime I have a less than positive experience, I wait before reviewing so I can provide a more accurate, level-headed review. The food is really good, but the service did us in. Being older now and with a young daughter, we were curious about checking out the Plainville location, since there seemed to be an effort to be more accomodating to families. Although I live in Plainville, I’ve been at the Plantsville and Berlin locations a lot more often, so we gave it a try. There were only a few people at the bar, so it appeared to be a quiet night. First off, we end up being seated very close to the bar. This is just recipe for disaster on a busy night. Seeing that it was slow, no big deal. I looked around, and noticed two other customers with children, so I thought this would be great for my wife and 8-year old daughter. Until the very inebriated woman sitting at the bar started with the extremely loud foul language. This started as soon as our food came out, and escalated for the next 10 – 15 minutes. During this time, our waiter checks on us. My wife makes a comment. Our waiter just smiles, and walks away. When he came around again, I asked for the check and a few boxes and we took our food to go. The entire experience really bothered me, we felt unwelcome, so we left. The most bothersome part for me is that our waiter did nothing. No apology for someone acting that way. If a patron is that inebriated, why is she still being served? There is a sign that reads«family friendly». No way. I’ll simply skip this location and look for other options in the future.

I always love it here. The food is always good. I love this kind of chill atmosphere. I always go for buffalo wings. Sandwiches are good. Fries are good. Fresh celery. Friendly staff.

The best tasting wings in CT!!! Great variety and superb flavors… Pretty good beer selection al well! What more can one ask for? I’ve tried their burgers as well and was never disappointed! Their wings are so good I always crave this place!!!

FORNOREASON I had never been here before this past Sunday. How is this possible??? Hubby decided he was craving wings and other comfort food for dinner so we ended up getting the sweet and spicy wings, grilled cheese bites with tomato soup and the soft pretzel with honey mustard dipping sauce. One word: GLORY. The wings were some of the best I’ve had if not THE best. The grilled cheese bites with tomato soup was genius! I could have eaten that entire app by myself but I was trying to control the binge. The soft pretzel was also delightful! Since this place has been so close to me for years, I find it appalling on my part that I never indulged in it’s goodness before now… but mark my words, I WILLBEBACK!!!

Great place. Good food. Great wings. Friendly staff. Awesome happy hour. Wings have gotten smaller over the years but that is ok cause my belly needs to get smaller too. Still a great deal overall. I do miss the pool tables and other«bar sports» good place to catch the game and kid friendly in the back area/restaurant side.

I been coming here for years, and the food isn’t anywhere close as good as it used to be. The wings and portions gets smaller every time I go. I have to order and pay for xtra sauce, and extra celeries to have a decent meal. It’s not my favorite spot in plainville anymore. J. Timothy’s I ll see you next time.

Incredibly disappointed. Stopped In to get some wings and a chicken sandwich. The sandwich was cold and the wings had almost no sauce. When you build your reputation on one product it should be easy to consistently deliver a good product. One of my favorite bars, but not tonight.

Very nice place, great service and the food was really exceptional for a sports bar. Was the day of the ACC Championship game(Clemson won) We had onion rings, Pretzels, Nachos, burgers, fries, and lots of liquid refreshments. Everything was good and came to the table spiffy quick! I would have given a 5 star rating but our waitress seemed to keep trying to turn the table over(i.e. get us to get our checks and get out) we were drinking, we kept ordering food, and she kept want to know if we wanted anything else. We told her we were here for the game. Which we ended up leaving at half time.

Went to the Plainville location last night to watch Alabama game then Clemson game. I have never been to a Sliders and I was very happy with my whole experience. For a Saturday night service was EXCELLENT! Food and drinks were delivered quickly every time. I even watched service at other tables and they were getting the same good service. We were a table of 7 there for 3 hours and they never rushed us, the server was checking on us constantly. We will definitely be back!

Sports on TV, bar TV trivia, decent bar food, good local crowd all week, friendly staff. … But the real reason to come to Sliders: if you are between the age of 40 and 50 the music in this place is the soundtrack of your life.

I last wrote about Sliders back in 2012, and since then, they have continued to evolve. Some changes for the better, some for worse. One of the biggest changes over the last few years is that there are simply more options now than there were before, and experiences like last night could very easily keep me from returning. A friend and I went around 8:30 at night and the place was moderately filled. The front has a «please seat yourself» sign up, which I never like seeing and I’m assuming contributed to our experience. We sat in a very open section in the back and sat down to wait. And wait. And wait… And wait… After more than 20 minutes of waiting, no fewer than four employees walked past our table and no one said a word. Not a «someone will be with you in just a minute.» Not a «hello.» Not nothing! Three servers huddled together near their cash register and occasionally glanced over at our table, only to look away when one of us managed to make eye contact with them. A manger came over and cleaned a table in front of ours and didn’t seem to notice us sitting there drinkless and scanning the room for someone. Now, you may ask, why didn’t you just yell out to someone for service instead of just sitting there? To that, I would say that it isn’t my job to flag someone down just to get service, especially when three servers could clearly see us sitting at a table with nothing to eat and drink. And Sliders food isn’t THAT good that I would absolutely need to eat there, so we got up and left. My guess is that we probably sat down in a dead area that didn’t fall into one of those three server’s table section, but how would we know that if that was the case? That’s the problem with the seat yourself style. Also curiously, even though there was a seat yourself sign, there was still a hostess at the front of the store which seems sort of unnecessary if you’re having customers seat themselves. Oh well, another place in the area that I don’t need to go back to! So why 2 stars instead of 1? Their buffalo blue cheese wings are still one of my favorite wing flavors ever, even if they now skimp on the amount of wing sauce they use.

This is the best restaurant I have ever been to. The food is amazing and the customer service is always stellar. With all original sauce recipes the wings are the best in CT. Would not pick anywhere else to eat in the area. Definitely recommend if you’re in the mood for a good dinner and a drink!!!

This is an excellent establishment. The beer was great and the bartenders are pro. Food was tasty, and the Italian bartender poured excellent Connecticut river waters

Oh Sliders how you disappoint me… Wings: 4.5 stars. Really good. I had the medium buffalo. They were crispy and the sauce is great. Service: 4 stars. Good both servers were very nice and we didn’t have to wait long for anything. Neither were spectacular. Burger: 1 Star. It was beef. it was cheese. it was bread… it was awful. I was surprised that the burger was this bad. I mean really shocked. It was the most bland burger I had ever had. I threw salt and pepper on it… nothing. Lesson learned. Environment: 0 stars or maybe even negative stars. This is no longer a bar anymore. It is geared toward families. There is big sign that says«Family Fun» in the bar area. Nothing I love more than being a father to two young children and getting a moment away to go to a bar and seeing families right next to the bar area. I went to the bar to get away from kids. This was once rated the 5th best sports bar by ESPN magazine. It didn’t deserve that ranking then and REALLY doesn’t deserve now. I first went to J Timothy’s but they were packed so we came here. I really enjoyed my wings. I just feel bad for coming here looking for a bar experience. Try Jersey Joe’s in Southington(wings might even be better) or of course J Tims for a better experience.

So it’s almost about a year since writing a pretty lengthy description of a questionable experience, and I am happy to report so great changes that have been made at this establishment. One noticeable thing when we decided to return to give it a second chance was the turnaround with the employees. 90% of the staff was new! The manager in question was gone, as well as the waitstaff. I think the bartenders are the same. Menus have been revised and apparently are getting another revision as we speak. The craft beer selection has picked up its game with two managers choice taps on rotation at all times(should be increased). Wings have been good, but we had an order of some that were mediocre this go around and we let Steve the current manager know. They have also really scaled back on the amount of sauce they use, which I’d disappointing because as you can see from the picture, we had to ask for more sauce and then was charged extra. I am not a fan of a poorly sauced wing. This needs to be changed. The sauce is everything!!! Over all, happy to see the changes and we now are back and happy.

We have been long time semi-regulars that are definitely going to start coming less. If you not eating wings the food quality seems to keep going down as they grow. Just had the buffalo chicken dip w rock hard pitas that were so hard(stale) that we had to bit with our back teeth, asked for replacement ones which came out the same and then had them bring us regular chips instead that kept breaking while dipping. I think they are starting to get to big for their britches and losing that attention to detail like the cheap plastic cups for things like salsa, its getting tacky… a shame, J Tims is getting more of our business now

BIG fan of sliders. I was a J Tims wing girl but converted to Sliders. Mostly because it’s cheaper, better happy hour, more flavors and can order boneless. My favorite wing flavors are buffalo Bleu and teriyaki. The original buffalo is great as well. I like how they let you try the flavors if you ask. I was stuck between a few and letting me try the flavors was key in figuring out what I liked and didn’t like. Great happy hour, love the huge soft baked pretzel. Wings are cheaper during HH and it’s great bang for your buck.

Very disappointed tonight. We waited so long for the wings we had to get them to go. When we got home, they were dry and flavorless. The chef should be ashamed of himself and the manager of this place even more ashamed for allowing food like this to come out. Soda was flat, and the nachos were made with zero effort. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I will never go back to this place.
