We went there today to celebrate my son’s birthday. We had a large party of ~15 and they did a good job working with separate checks. They provided free chips and salsa as many of the Mexican restaurants do. The salsa was very mild which was great for my wife but I would lean towards something with more pop. The service was very good as they came around often to keep the tea and water glasses full. I had shrimp quesadilla and it was very good. This place is located in a strip mall and is not fancy but the food is good and not expensive. Both my wife and I enjoyed the visit and said we would eat here again.

Went for lunch there today because it’s close and some coworkers had been and liked it. The waiter was very nice, and service was fast. The chips and salsa had issues– first, no salt on the chips. ALWAYSSALTFRIEDFOODS! Second, the salsa was bland, almost Pace-like, and had zero heat. Not what I want in a salsa. Maybe for some, but not for this gringo. I had to request Tabasco. :( There are lunch specials for $ 6.95. Cheap enough. I had the 2 beef taco plate. Decent enough, but I could’ve just as soon went to Taco Bueno and got about the same meal. Rice and beans were average Tex-Mex. Décor was fine, seemed clean enough, and servers were peppy and lots of smiles.

I was craving for some seafood so my boyfriend and I we decided to go to las palmas as our first time… But at the end we were really disappointed first when we got there we sat on a table and it took at least 5 minutes for the waiter to give us the menu and he wasn’t that busy only 3 tables with customers. When we got the salsa and chips the salsa was horrible it had like a fake taste to it. I order a chicken fajita with shrimp because I didn’t found anything interesting that had to do with 100% real seafood… When I got my chicken and shrimp fajita I just wanted to get up and live the fajita came with only some few sliced chicken and guess how many shrimps only 3SHRIMPS for $ 14.99 are they kidding or what… Oh well but for sure I will never be back to this place

Nice Mexican Food, though the Salsa is a little thin for my taste. Beams and rice are palatable, enchiladas are good, food is generally fresh and hot. Tortillas are great. Service and cleanliness are top notch. This place is worth the stop if you are thinking Mexican. Or in Mexican. Spanish? Catalan? I don’t know whats happening either.

We are still eating at Las Palmas and they are still cooking excellent food. The food is still prepared while you wait. But, not to worry, the chips are yummy and we don’t think any place can beat the salsa. Give it a try — it’s quiet, no problem parking and it’s very affordable!

Worst cerviche ever! Me and my husband went to try the cerviche and i don’t even think they know what it is. They came out with a dish of warm fish in tomato sauce with some avocados on top. Being pregnant and needing my craving i started to cry. For those of u who don’t know what cerviche truly is: white fish with tomatoes, onions, cilantro, in lime juice topped with avocados. What they brought me was not cerviche it was lies and false hope. Never going back

My wife and I went there on a Friday evening at 6ish or so. I was fighting off a cold but still hungry and my wife was pretty hungry as well. It was about ½ full or so in the little hole in the wall establishment tucked in the middle of a largely Latino section of east Plano. We were greeted and shown to a table and our drink orders were taken. While taking our drink orders I asked the server for Ceviche and he stated something about a cocktail, but I could not understand him and just agreed. I like ceviche but my wife has never had it so I wanted to have her try it. When it arrived, it looked like a shrimp cocktail with whitefish instead of shrimp. It did not taste bad it was just not what I expected. I was really looking forward to the kind you ate on tostadas. My wife actually enjoyed it and helped me finish it. The waited did something I have never seen before. He allowed us to actually finish the appetizer before getting our food order. In a way that was nice but it made the wait for the food that much longer. It was an odd transition. I ordered the Shrimp Quesadilla and my wife ordered the Fajita Burrito. She is picky about her sides, not liking pico or guacamole but loves good beans. To her surprise the beans appeared to be home made, something we have not seen much, if any in the area. My wife makes her own homemade refried beans and she stated that Las Palmas had better beans than her’s. Pluses — — — Great tasting food Reasonable prices Home made refried beans Good portion sizes of entrees Polite service Minuses — — — – Service was slow considering the time of day and volume of customers Portion size of the pico, guacanmole, and sour cream was very small Upcharge for sour cream and cheese to be added to order($ 1 per item) I personally had trouble tasting anything due to my cold but my wife raved about the taste of it all.

My lease is up at the end of this month, so I’ve been living around the corner from Las Palmas for almost a year now. That being said, I think I’ve eaten here almost 50 times now… sooooo, I guess you could say I like this place. It’s a tiny hole in the wall, and I almost alway prefer those kinds of places over«upscale Tex-Mex», which I find to be kind of a joke. The meal I’ve ordered the most is #31, the«Saltillo», which is two cheese and onion enchiladas, topped with sour cream, pico de gallo, and fajita meat(beef or chicken). On the weekends, I’ll get the brisket taco plate. The lunch menu is cheap, with a daily special, and they get the food out quick as long as you’re ordering from the lunch menu. The chips are a little greasy, but always hot and fresh with a good salsa. The guacamole and chile con queso aren’t my favorite in the whole world, but I still usually order one or the other with my meal. It’s also a good place to watch the big boxing matches(if you’re into that), although it gets pretty crowded. I suggest getting a bucket if you’re drinking beer(5 for the price of 4) on those nights, as they go through the Dos Equis pretty quick. On Friday, they have $ 2.50 margaritas all day — on the rocks, frozen, swirl(frozen swirled with sangria), strawberry, and mango.

My man and I went there for an early supper. I had the chicken fajitas. They were real good. It came with a side of guac, sour cream, and pico de gallo, and beans & rice. What I did notice was that they were frugal with the guac, pico, a sour cream! It was still very filling. My boyfriend had the beef/chicken fajita rancheras with a side of beans & rice. he thought they were real good. The service was very good. It really is a hole in the wall but regardless its a hidden treasure. I would totally recommend it! Our bill came out to be about $ 27 with a $ 10 tip! We try to be exceptional tippers!

Its located in a Strip Mall but dont understimate this hidden treasure. Its always a pleasure when you see ethnic locals patronize an establishment. It had a pretty deep menu. I went for the Tilapia whole fish Deep fried with salad and avocados. My friend had the Camarones with rice and beans and a side of avocados. The food was delish that we even ordered a Sopapilla and i even managed to watch Chelsea Defeat Arsenal. The Margaritas were very affordable and nice. Will definitely be back when in Plano to try them out again.

This is a hole in the wall restaurant. I am not a Tex-Mex«chain» type of girl, so I was thrilled when we pulled into the strip mall, and everything around was written in Spanish. The hot sauce is so fresh, and their nachos are individually topped with loads of cheese, sour cream & guac. I took a co-worker there, and now almost each time I go for lunch I run into people from work! We are all addicts! The owner is always so sweet, and they have great lunch specials. margaritas are $ 1.50 all day on Friday too!
