Nice place clean rooms and friendly reception the bar is small but the bar tenders are vary nice lady’s

Enjoyed our stay.
The staff was friendly, rooms were clean, the hotel was quiet and the breakfast was good.
On a side note we stayed here after spending the day in Lake Placid (rooms were booked) It is a 45 minute drive but worth it if you want to stay close to Lake Placid but see other amenities.
Ausable Chasm is on the way (a must see) as well as scenic drives and many stops. Plattsburgh as a city has quite a bit offer as well.

Why were comfort and Hampton sold out?
Because this place is old and awful. Ac was like a old fan, except it didn’t cool.
Wi fi, didn’t reach my room. Totally frustrating when I have hours of web
based work to do
Road noise from the highway, awful, newer hotels have thicker windows if facing a highway.
$ 120 per night, I would have been better off at econo lodge or microtel.

Mr. P is a fan and comes to this Holiday Inn pretty regularly for business. My stay with Mr. P was fairly good. Overall this hotel was new and clean. We had a microwave and a fridge in our room. The room was set up nicely. Wifi very strong. TV nice with several channels.
I do have a few complaints:
We couldn’t use the pool because it was being painted. This would have been nice to know during booking online.
The breakfast is «eh.» croissants, bagels, fruit and that is about it. If you want anything beyond that you have to pay extra.
I didn’t even know this place had a restaurant but apparently they do. I do not recommend it seeming I didn’t see a kitchen or anything… plus the food was way overpriced.
We asked for an extra blanket and it had crusty «chocolate» or «poop» on it… not sure which one it was and I was not going to go any farther to figure out which one it was.
Front staff… though helpful was not very courteous and did not go out of their way to nice or friendly.
The place is in a very convenient location, right next to the highway. It does have a lot of choices for restaurants and shopping in the area. My opinion of my stay was just an «ok.»

It was an amazing stay. I used priceline deal, and paid $ 70 to stay a night. Very clean, staffs are real nice and kind. Recommended.

I did not know how a Holiday Inn could earn ⁴⁄₅ stars, but I now realize why they are worthy of ⁴⁄₅ stars after my stay. Everything was immaculately clean, space was simple with decorations, yet they laid it out well and optimized the use of space. Service — muy bueno and accommodating.
Everything is nearby — shopping, b’fast, parks, Canada. This was our «halfway» mark to Quebec, but only moments away from the Canadian border. And for the price we paid, it was well worth it to get a great night’s sleep before continuing our lil road trip.

While they are doing renovations, they are keeping it out of plain view. I sleep during the day (yes I am a vampire) when I saw that were drilling during the day, I asked to be moved to a part of the hotel where no work was being done. The girl at the front desk was very compliant and switched me even though I had used the other room, very minimally though (no dueces dropped). any way they have a nice welcome bag for priority club guests, and although I didn’t try the food, they did have continental breakfast and offered 3 dollars off to p club guest for hot items. This is probably the best hotel in the area, with very affordable rates… also bring your hdmi equipment of here for extended amounts of time, cause they have flat screens with hdmi! What a mistake I made not bringing my PS3.

I stayed here in 2005 for a few days and was quite impressed. This hotel has been around for as long as I can remember (c. 1974) and has withstood the test of time. When I stayed it appeared the hotel had been renovated within the past few years or so, or else just very well kept. Sadly, the place was empty on this particular April weekend, which does not speak well for the local economy. Nonetheless, I had an enjoyable stay. I cannot remember if they had free wifi at the time. I will definitely stay here again if I’m ever in the area.
