I’ve loved this place for years. Chicken tender box for the win! Lately though, the last few times I’ve been the chicken has been really skimpy. I feel trying to keep food cost down, but I got some super tiny chicken strips on more than one occasion. Still a decent spot to go to once every few months. If they upped their portion game up itd be a whole lot better.

I’m from Orange county and we have nothing like Donaho’s Golden Chicken. When ever I come to Pomonai stop by and fill my trunk up with chicken. It’s very good fried chicken, not the best but darn close, and defiantly better than Kentucky Fried Cr#p.

Definitely legit ordered the chicken strips combo w/fries & mash potato well worth it. Always feel satisfied to support smaller establishments… Like I tell my kids don’t support the big businesses they don’t need your money…

This place is awesome. The chicken tenders are everything and paired with their fries, their combo makes for dreams to come true. Definitely a spot worth trying if you’re in that area even during a commute. Besides the flavorful taste factor, the food is fresh and hot.

Yes, this place is a hole in the wall. But this place has the best fried chicken and gizzards. I’m ok without the rolls or steak fries. The coleslaw and mac salad are not bad. My kids loved the chicken strips. Next time I may not get the combos. I still give 5 stars for the chicken and gizzards… so good!

So here’s the deal; Any place that has a giant fiberglass chicken on top of their sign is okay by me. That being said, let’s talk about Donahoo’s. This is as basic as you can get. This is no-frills, honest-to-goodness deep deep fried chicken. I mean, it’s strictly business … no booths or table, no chairs to sit in, just a counter that opens up to the kitchen where you can watch mounds of poultry getting a oil bath. The chicken? It’s awesome … it’s got a crunchy crust and is tender and moist inside. One thing I like about Donahoo’s is you can have chicken strips or regular chicken on the bone. Either way, you will not be disappointed. So at this point you may asking, Gee Dan, if you like it so much, why only 4 stars? One of my pet peeves about any type of store front is when they let things fade and look … well, shabby. Like honestly, they could pay someone $ 50 to go up and give the chicken on the sign a fresh coat of paint, and give the outside a fresh coat of whitewash for heaven’s sake. Especially since the inside is so utilitarian, make the exterior look more inviting. Look, I know it’s picky, but I have issues. All that aside, you really do need to go and get a box of this chicken. Can you find cheaper chicken elsewhere? Yes, but you won’t find any that’s more delicious than Donanhoo’s!

The place is a complete dive. You get your chicken in box and it’s a to go only place(no inside seating). The fried chicken is crispy and juicy and it is good but not super delicious. It is not amazing fried chicken. I was surprised by the coleslaw. The coleslaw has raisins in it and tastes kinda sweet. It is one of the best coleslaw I’ve ever had. I would say the bread rolls are good too. I decided to reward Danhoo’s an extra star for the cole slaw. In my opinion, the fried chicken is good but not worth a 44 mile drive. It is a CASH only place.

We’ve been told by a few people to try out this place and after reading the reviews, we decided to try it out. The place itself is very deceiving. It looks big from the outside but when you go inside it’s literally just a counter to place your order and a couple benches to sit on and wait. As for the food… Their chicken is very good and very tasty. It’s definitely worth a try.

Not bad. Picked up a 3-piece chicken tender combo(comes with steak fries, 1 side, 1 dipping sauce, and a giant roll) on Saturday for lunch. No seating area, so must take it to go, which is fine. For about $ 6, it’s more than enough food, and I couldn’t finish the box. If you’ve got 2 people, definitely get the 6-piece combo for just $ 2 – 3 more. The chicken was just a tad dry(would’ve been harder to eat without the dipping sauce). I liked my mashed potatoes and the fries(nice and salty), but my fiancé thought they were too salty and my cousin thought they were stale, so it’s really up to preference I guess. The roll is HUGE and we realized afterwards we should’ve made a little chicken sandwich! I would continue to come here to support the small family-owned business whenever I felt like some fried chicken :)

Donahoo’s has always been right down the block from me so I decided to try it for the first time today. Despite all these 5-star reviews, I thought it was quite lacking. I got the 3 piece chicken wing combo with a side of mashed potatoes. The chicken was bland, I’ve had more savory chicken at KFC. Some of my fries were undercooked as they were quite soggy The only reason why this is 2-stars and not 1 is because of the mashed potatoes. You can’t really go wrong with mashed potatoes. How this place got so many 4 – 5 stars confuses me. Maybe I got an old box or something.

The fried chicken is delicious. The skin is crunchy and the meat is moist. It’s one of the better fried chickens I’ve ever had. The roll that came with the meal was large and fluffy. There’s already some butter in it but just only in the middle. We were definitely stuffed from getting one of the specials(2 piece chicken special). There’s so much fries that we cannot finish it ourselves. I personally thought the sides were all okay. Whenever I come here with a friend, I always recommend their chicken because it’s really good. The strips, I thought, were good but it’s what I can get at other places. Daily, they have a special on the drinks making them only $ 2. They got the meal out really quick in boxes. I’d just come back to the fried chicken only. There’s a parking lot right next to the building too.

Soooooooo good!!! We’ve had it twice but don’t live anywhere near here so it’s not easy to come by. My boyfriends best friend lives a couple miles away and we’ve only had it at his house which makes NFL Sunday and birthdays that much more exciting, or should I say flavorful! This stuff is soooo good and I’m not a big fan of meat of any kind or even poultry but it must be some of the best fried chicken I’ve had in a long time! The fries are also really good. I’ve had chicken pieces and chicken strips. I wasn’t impressed with the rolls although they are massive. I can’t wait to actually pay the place a visit one day. The only reason I’m not giving 5STARS is the tiny little fact that I haven’t visited them in person but if this is how good take out taste you cannot go wrong here! Delish!

been meaning to try this place for years! my coworkers rave about this place. ordered: *2 piece fried chicken combo. which comes with a bread roll and steak cut fries. with potato, mashed potato, or macaroni salad.$ 6+ overall, the best thing about donahoo is the fried chicken. the skin is nice and crispy and flavorful! i’m not a fan of steak cut fries or the bread. but all the coworkers love the bread. states that you gotta eat it right away before it gets cold. they put butter inside already just fyi. if you’re a fan of steak cut fries than it’ll taste good to you. i tasted a small piece of the chicken tenders and wasn’t a huge fan of it as the fried chicken. i really felt like donahoo was a bit overpriced for what’s it worth. it’s definitely A-OK to this Unilocaler! i would however recommend the fried chicken to everyone because it is that good! tips: *cash only. *they have an atm. *takes orders by phone as well. *small parking lot. *charges for sauces. *no restroom for customers. *no sit in dining. *sells boba and thai tea.

Been wanting to get some grub here for the past 3 years but after getting a haircut at Ralph’s and tasting some of there leftovers, it was time for lunch! The store is on a busy street. Parking in the side. I was split on getting the chicken tenders or the liver. I figured the chicken would be more fresh so I chose that. The chicken was good but not amazing. It wasn’t crispy and almost more on the soggy side but still delicious. The fries were pretty crispy and the coleslaw was amazing! Even better the biscuit with the melted butter inside mmmMmmmMm. The biscuit and fries were almost better than the chicken. The cashier was rude and was asking for a ticket to watch pound town filmed and directed by me but my stomach had an appointment with the food fairy. 4 stars for the food. –1 star for the shitty attitude. 3 stars total… Will come again!

Dona who??? Donahoo! And if you don’t know, NOW you know. This chicken right here! It’s soooo good it’ll make you wanna smack yo mama! You will walk in and think for a second though. The restaurant is an Asian owned business when you’re expecting black owners, but don’t let that fool you one bit. The chicken here is really really good. Smells great and tastes even better. The seasoning, the crispness, THEJUICINESS! Right when you take your first bite, you literally have the juices oozing out. They have endless options with combos and party orders. Options are posted over literally every wall and even right in your face as you order at the cashier’s register. I just settled for the most popular meal combo which cost less that $ 8. It’s the 3pc. Chicken tenders/strips meal with one side. It also comes with a dinner roll the size of my hand which is good. The sides range from potato salad to cole slaw in which everything is made in house with their own sauces and special sauces so they all race about it. I just went with the macaroni salad and the flavor was good. Only downfall about their sides is that it’s literally two bites haha. They serve it in a little sauce container. But they sure make up for that everywhere else. The chicken primarily. Secondly the potato wedges seen endless. You can probably split this combo into two meals. I know I sure did. The service is good and quick. I promise you I had my food in a bag in my hand before I even paid. THATSQUICK.

Ehhh. I came here because a friend had told me about them a long time ago and he said it was great. I happened to be right down the street from this location so we had lunch here over the weekend. I was unaware that there were multiple locations, had I known the one in Ontario was«nicer» I would have driven out of my way to go there. You cannot eat here. Order at the counter, pay(cash only) and your food will be up in less than a minute. We asked for sauce and were told we needed to pay 70 cents for it. Come on. We took the boxes out to our car and decided to just eat there. After a couple bites we had a guy with tattoos all over his face, at our window with a little kid, asking us for money. I don’t advise eating in this parking lot. We moved the car to another place to eat. The food wasn’t that great. The bread/biscuit was delish, the fries had okay flavor, but were mushy and seemed old, the mashed potatoes were too dense and I didn’t care for the flavor of the gravy. My man had potato salad and it was pretty good. The chicken strips were not very good, the breading didn’t stick to the chicken very well and I didn’t think the seasoning was all that great. The chicken wasn’t crisp. I would go to Church’s or Popeye’s over this place any day.

Should have listened to my cousin, Maggie C. *sigh* Food smells good, but everything else was just a disaster. Chicken — very salty, greasy, and no flavor Fries — super soggy Mashed Potatoes — taste worse than KFC Bread — very yeasty the box the food came in with was super greasy and seeped through and got my car all oily. also, when we got our food, my friend was puzzled because there was no ketchup. she was annoyed because she didn’t want to go back in and ask for it. NOTE: there’s no seating in here, so it’s a pick up and go type of place. also, CASHONLY.

Chicken done right up in here. The chicken is perfectly seasoned with flour, salt, pepper and a little pinch of attitude from the staff. Not the friendliest bunch, it’s a cultural thing but hopefully they’ll read this review and take that as some constructive criticism. Regardless I’m coming back. The place is a dive but that’s part of its charm.
