What a place! Onion loaf, baby back ribs, baked potato and dessert for $ 25. You can get all ribs, all BBQ chicken Ora combo of both. Can’t beat it. Tons of sports memorabilia on the walls you could spend an hours just looking at that. Our server was Antonelle who had perfect control of our table and others. She was great, in perfect time of our table mood. Ask for her! Was this helpful???

I have been coming to Bobby’s since I was a young Boy. A legendary rib & Chicken joint in the area for many years. It is definitely a time capsule from the 1970’s inside & out. Not a bad thing but exactly the way I remember it was when I came as a young boy many years ago. Nothing has changed except the Hand Dryer in the wash room it seems. It’s a big place with plenty of room for large groups and a bar area that was jammed packed with a much older crowd. The meal was good this visit. Make sure you go online to check the daily specials prior to coming as some may have changed since this review. Thursday is all you can eat Ribs special. If you like Ribs and can eat a few racks + then this is your spot on a Thursday.

Still a great place for ribs after 40 years. I don’t recommend coming on Saturday night. The place is jammed and crazy. It is an older crowd mostly. But the service is very good and food is excellent. The chicken is is amazingly tender.

Just average not the best but not the worst and ive had some great ribs before. After going to this place i went to Flanigan’s and their steak and ribs was much better!

Went here for dinner last night as we were told the ribs were fantastic and they ran a nightly special, 2 for $ 25. Well, you have a limited choice on that, ribs or chicken. My wife wanted the prime rib so the special was out. We started with the onion, mushroom, zucchini loaf. Meh. It was bland, the mushrooms were good, the onions ok, the zucchini not so good. She liked her prime rib. My bbq ribs were very dry. I ordered 1&½ racks, the half rack had a funky taste so I only ate that first rib. The other rack was not even close to «fall off the bone». I didn’t eat half of that rack. I enjoyed the bread, the drinks, and the waitress was attentive. There are too many good restaurants in the area for us to return.

Service was good. Chicken was so dry I couldn’t eat it, and the BBQ sauce on the ribs was sickeningly sweet.

I don’t know if any one aspect of this place warrants four stars, but the package is so complete that the experience is certainly worth it. Food– ribs are great. Definitely oven baked and grill finished(as opposed to smoked like most BBQ joints). Onion loaf– very good if a smidge bland. Baked potato– it’s a baked potato, what can go wrong? Baked beans– definitely«traditional”– not super meaty or super sweet but tasty(think VandeKamps but slightly less sweet). Key lime pie– spot on. Drinks– we had well and have no complaints. Atmosphere– like others have alluded to, it is a total time warp to the late 70s or early 80s, but it is in pristine condition. Old casino-style carpet, turned wood spindle chairs, the best of the Sears catalog cowboy artwork on the walls. And the parakeet aviary– completely random but a great way to distract the kids in the place. Ambiance– they had a lounge singer going, who was everything you expect… White jacket, Barry Manilow style singing, off-key everything. Very friendly servers who checked in on us for every round. The perfect place to take your grandparents when they visit, but we’ll be back on our own anyway. The 2-for-$ 25 dinner special pretty well seals the deal(you can download the coupon off their website, or just show it to your server off your phone). The whole package was too entertaining and the food was tasty!

I don’t recall the last time I was at this restaurant but it certainly has been a few years. I don’t often go up to that area anymore but we were going to a movie house nearby and I had seen a coupon«DINNERFORTWO $ 25». It consisted of one appetizer: Onion Loaf. There are 2 choices selecting from Baby Back Ribs or a half BBQ Chicken or BBO Chicken and Ribs with each coming with a side. Last but not least there was a choice of ONE of the following: Key Lime Pie, Ice Cream or Chocolate Cake. It sounded like a good deal so after the movie we went to Bobby Rubino’s. Our server Katelyn – yes she has heard all the jokes so we didn’t say anything! – said we could have one of the other many appetizers and $ 4 would be taken off that price but we decided to stay with the onion loaf which turned out to be a good choice. It wasn’t too oily and had a good coating. I had the BBQ chicken and ribs while Allen had the half BBQ chicken and we both ordered a side of crazy rice. I liked my chicken and ribs though the sauce was a bit too sweet while I found the rice too lumpy as if it had been cooked much too long. Allen disagreed liking his but he is not a lover of BBQ(what does he know?) but did a good job on the chicken. We shared the piece of a fudge like chocolate cake equally! :O) It turned out that in very small print was«Each dinner must include the purchase of a beverage» so we each had a diet cola adding $ 5.50 to the check. With the addition of $ 1.83 tax the check came to $ 32.33. Attached to it was a check showing what it would have cost without the coupon it came to $ 50+ and I like that as the server should be tipped on that bill, not the reduced one! Katelyn did a great job as a server whether refilling drinks before we had to ask, bringing extra napkins and wet naps, keeping the table clean and just all around being pleasant. You know Bobby Rubino’s has been in business awhile – over 30 years at this location – as they still believe in serving a hot loaf of bread with your meal! BOBBYRUBINO’S RESTAURANTSLIDESHOW

Hey, for only 20 bucks for 2 dinners what do ya expect? and even better — tonight is $ 5 half rack at the bar! Bada boom bada bang! The 1970s interior is a flashback in time… Like Bobby is still in the kitchen grillin’ the chicken and ribs! So how do they taste? Well, let’s just say I’ve had MUCH better ribs at Flanigans, Jack’s on Oakland Blvd and even Smokey Bones. The BBQ sauce tastes like canned sauce from Walmart — they really need to step it up. And the ribs were from a midget’s cage — TINY rack of ribs. Sweet potato? Cooked just right with butter and brown sugar. Onion loaf is a classic yum. All in all, we’ve been coming here for 15+ years so it’s like a tradition — decent food at bargain basement prices with a timeless 1970s décor. A rare gem in southeast Florida nonetheless.

Service is the major portion of any restaurant. Our ribs took way too long to come out! I watched many patrons seated after us and they were served in a timely manner. My date ordered a side of wings and the wings were small and burnt. For the amount we were doing pay it was laughable. We spoke the manager and he tried to rectify the problem but I was slightly yo angry. We were ignored, ribs came out burnt and skimpy and I was surprised by the famous bobby that this is what he offered. He comped our wings and ribs and we left. Hadn’t been back since. Maybe one day.

Visiting that restaurant was a horrible experience! I don’t recommend it to no one. I totally lost my appetite… When the juices came, I asked my friend to cancel the rest of the order. The rules on this restaurant and the unethical behavior of the server are just disgusting! P. S. my cup was not well washed, and the juice had a strange flavor. I regret to have spent any of my money in that terrible awful racist restaurant!

We had a few good meals here. The all you can eat ribs is a good deal. Very tasty too. The service we have had has been great. Decent steaks.

Just was in Pompano for the day on the way back to Philadelphia from the DR. Nice to get back in the states and we made a good choice stopping at Bobby Rubino’s and expect to come back again. Lynda, our waitress was as good as it gets. We had the chicken and the ribs and both were excellent. Try the baked sweet potato. We started off with the Zucchini loaft that was lightly breaded and tasty, came with a horseradish mayo(excellent) and some french looking mayo that I did not taste. Lynda made sure that we worked through that portion before she put in the main order. Ended up with the chocolate cake that was good but not very sweet. The bathroom looked and smelled very clean. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and as we walked out. It’s a pretty big facility. We came at 3 in the afternoon(Tuesday) and the place had a few tables gong on. A large bar was also present with a few patrons. A winner all the way. PS — Don’t forget the exotic birds.

Bobby Rubino’s has probably the best ribs in Florida if not the world. They have great onion loaf and wonderful barbecue chicken. They are very friendly. Also, they have really good prices and terrific specials. Their desserts are fantastic. I only wish they had a location closer to Boca.

Ok, we’ve been here enough times to know what good food tastes like and we had anything but great food on this recent visit. We were using the two dinners for $ 20 coupon from the Showtime section of the Sun-Sentinel and I was left wondering if they don’t have special food for customers using it. My husband and I ordered the same dinner, the dinner portion of ribs and a quarter chicken. We opted for the upcharge to white meat for the chicken. The onion loaf appetizer is free and it’s hard to mess up an onion when it’s breaded and deep-fried so we were satisfied with that. Now, it was on to our entrees. The ribs looked like they might’ve been cut in half they were so small but they weren’t overcooked. The chicken was another thing. It was visibly overcooked when you cut into the breast meat, so much so that it was necessary to drench it in bbq sauce. I should’ve sent it back but I was so hungry I ate it anyway. We also got dessert that came with the coupon and we chose the chocolate cake. It wasn’t too bad. It had a fudge-y section and a cake-y section and the cake section was moist. I’m not giving up on this place and next time will give some push back on the chicken if it comes out dry again.

Bobby Rubino’s gets five stars because it is 1. best ribs in Broward and 2. it’s f’ing Bobby Rubino’s. Come here for the best ribs. Do not pass go, do not pay whatever ridiculous prices other places charge for overpriced ribs. Stay for the old school ambiance. Leave knowing you ate at a true Florida landmark. Here’s what you need to know about this place: it was opened in approximately the 70s and it has not been updated décor-wise since then – a very hard shock from today’s contemporary, minimalist appearance. If the initial impression puts you off, turn around and go up the street to Flanigan’s so you can have the cheeky South Florida experience you obviously want. Otherwise, grab a drink at the bar and hopefully you’ll see some fun karaōke or live music. Order the ribs and nothing but the ribs. They probably have other stuff; I don’t know. Sides are ancillary and nondescript. My husband began coming here for his birthday many years ago and even now, they’ll offer either a free birthday meal or the cost of a free birthday meal off of your bill(you have to ask and show proof of birth date) – a good deal since my husband orders the Steel City portion, plus an extra side of ribs, and whatever I don’t eat from my plate. We’ve had large party dinners that rolled their eyes at first impression and ended up having a great family-style time. Don’t judge up front – let them prove themselves, and they will.

Here is an honest rundown of Bobby Rubino’s… Yes, this place is in need of a facelift at least 10 — 15 years overdue… However, the food is always up to par(exceeds my expectations) and it’s clean. This place always had a steady fan following — especially with locals. This is a restaurant where people come strictly for the excellent consistent ribs and laid back atmosphere. I give it 4 stars as this really needs an upgrade — especially when you’re spending on average $ 25 — $ 30 a plate.

Bobby Rubino’s has delicious ribs and BBQ chicken. I love their BBQ sauce. For $ 20.00 you get a full meal for two people. The $ 20.00 deal includes: For an appetizer their onion loaf. The entrée is two orders of baby back ribs, BBQ chicken, or a combination of ribs and chicken, and one side dish each. For dessert you get key lime pie, chocolate cake, or ice cream to share. White meat chicken is an extra $ 1.00. To get this deal for two you have to order two drinks. You need to bring a coupon which you can usually find in the weekend section of the Friday Sun Sentinel, or you can print it from their web page. My husband and I ate there this evening. We shared the onion loaf which was pretty big. It’s like onion rings shaped into a loaf. It came with a tangy dipping sauce. Then I had the ribs and BBQ chicken. For my side I had a baked potato. My husband had the ribs with a side of rice. We shared a delicious piece of key lime pie for dessert. Since we had to order drinks, we would have anyway, I had pink lemonade and my husband had a coke. Oh, I almost forgot, a nice basket of warm bread came with the meal. All this cost $ 25.00 plus tax and tip.($ 20 plus $ 5 for the two drinks.)

This restaurant caters to an older clientele, the restaurant is very dated including the carpet, wood, wallpaper, and to top it off the bar area is dark and its closed in by a low hanging wood panel accent. With all that said, the food is pretty descent, specially the ribs, prime rib and I love their french onion soup. Mixed drinks are inexpensive but weak, but they do serve full glasses of wine They usually have coupons on their website for dinner deals. Service is friendly but on the slow side. This location would do great if they gave the place a full make-over and tried to attract clientele under 85.
