I have to say after a long day, this restaurant definitely improved my night. My coworkers and I came here with empty stomachs, and were not disappointed. I’ve been to hibachi places, and while not phenomenal, our chef was very good at what he did. The food was very tasty, and the restaurant was very clean. Our server also did a very good job checking in with us to make sure we were OK and taken care of. If I had one critique of this place, it would be that the food and beverages is a little pricey, but considering our company picked up the tab, I can’t complain too much. Overall this is a great place to dine out!

This place never fails me. Whether I’m ordering drinks or a couple of rolls(OMG, obi, crunch are some favs!), they always provide great service.

Really good food & service! We’ve been here several times & we’ve never had to wait. Our kids love this place as well!

Almost all of my friends used to work here and it’s my go to place to eat, everything is pricey but delicious, then I moved out of state. I thought it was still good and I took my bf from Cali here, it was embarrassing!!! Now it has poor customer service, the place seems to be ran by teenagers. The waiter completely messed up my order from beginning to end. (I ordered a scallop dinner, two beef fried rice, and some sushi rolls… the hibachi chef almost made me a salmon dinner but I stopped him and requested scallop, also I receive two plain fried rice! No beef! And the sushi was just OKAY) honestly, I would not come here ever again

Delicious food, little wait, great service . Ordered: Hawaii sushi roll — one of my new favorites, really liked the banana in it. Would definitely visit again.

This is their newest location and a great addition to the port arthur and mid county area. There are locations nearby that tried to copy their menu but as far as quality and service Tokyo leads by far. You will find the same menu as the locations in Beaumont along with the same quality and service. A definant must if you are having japanese cruisine!

Love their sushi, however the staff is pretty horrible. Today I came in for dinner and had three different people coming to our table. One to find out was the manager. So rude, don’t know how she made it as far as she had, must be related to someone higher. If she wasn’t the manager she would have been reported. I also observed her giving her coworker«the finger». So very professional. She stands back behind the screens the entire time talking to her coworkers and on her phone. Something needs to happen to her. She must go. Oh, and she drinks with her friend at the bar. Winning.

We have numerous Japanese places in San Diego. This place combines an excellent array of sushi rolls with the Hibachi Steakhouse«Benihana» style of Japanese Steakhouse cooking. First time I have seen these combined. My Cajun Shrimp Sushi Roll and Filet Mignon plate with Vegetables and great fried rice was a feast. Loved it!

Not impressed at all, fried rice was soggy, I had two different sushi rolls and the freshness just wasn’t there like it should be with good sushi.

Against my better judgment I visited this establishment tonight. I ordered miso soup, three different sushi hand rolls, and one specialty roll. The miso was too salty, the hand rolls had soggy rice, and the specialty roll was also dripping with moisture. Overall the taste seemed quite bland, lacking in that fresh deliciousness that I crave when eating sushi. Service was good, prompt, and Friendly. However I won’t be going back. Sorry.

We eat sushi every town we visit, so a lot for comparison. Maybe for Port Ar. this is good, for us not so much. Sat at sushi bar, service by waitress very, very slow had to ask\wait for beer each time. Out of 6 rolls only 1 or 2 we thought were good, not terrible, but just sort of bland and uninteresting. Lacking a variety of appetizer choices too. Not understanding all the glowing reviews for this place.

Dinner was extraordinary. I sat at the sushi bar and had Saki tempura and an Armadillo roll. This was the most unique roll I have ever tasted. Spicy cheesy meaty goodness.

I was not impressed. Our waiter was not even Asian, and didn’t have the same level of experience. We found our self looking over at the next grill watching there chef do amazing tricks while ours struggled to cook the food correctly let alone do anything special. The food as decent, nothing special. I would much rather Sake right down the road.

I was in town for business alone, so I thought I would eat at Tokyo so I wouldn’t feel awkward sitting alone. Many of these hibachi places have a vegetarian dinner, but this is the first one I’ve been to that added tofu to that. It was very tasty too, Bonus for me! The service was excellent and prompt.

Great food that fresh and prepared properly. I am proud to admit that Port Arthur needed a good dining experience and a variety for the taste buds and palate. I have eaten at many Japanese restaurants in the US, Europe, and of course Japan. Having fresh food prepared professionally was a great experience for this hard working area. Most recently I was in during the Holiday’s and New Years, and wanted to celebrate in style with Sushi, Sashimi, and all the accouterments of a dining experience for my family; so I chose Tokyo. I specifically chose a teppan grill table(it is a table in which they cook in front of you) so that my daughters could get a «show» along with my family. Without concern, they fulfilled the task with all the standard dazzle of twanging knives, colorful flames, egg juggling with the spatula’s, humorous tricks, and of course the flaming onion volcano. Personally, I have seen this enough, but as mentioned: the kids and some of my down to earth family have not; it was worth it. For this area, the menu was filled with a very large variety of Seaside Sushi & Sashimi selections… I dare to not name them all, but to mention a few… If you are craving eel, sesame seared tuna, octopus, or the average California roll. they have it all. You can get your Sushi in «cut» or «roll» form. Just remember the difference: cut is cut in pieces, roll is for better terms shaped in a taco pouch style. On the land loving side they naturally offer chicken, vegetables, and varieties of beef for the meals. I will say that they have a good price option for Kobe Beef, it was running at $ 60 for a 12oz portion. Don’t flinch at the price, if you have not had Kobe Beef. try it at least once for that special occasion, and please DON’T get it seared well-done like some do. Let it melt in your mouth with flavor. after all, thats why you pay the high price for it. The soups were very well done. We had a great onion soup in a beef broth, and a very clean & fresh tasting Miso(soybean) Tofu soup that was great. * As a note or two: I went during the lunch time(it just happened to be when we were all available), so the prices were more affordable. If you are wishing to «try it out» that may be the best time, in the event you don’t like Sushi, etc. you wont hurt in the wallet. Also, I am not sure what the concerns are about prices on the menu, with respect they are posted on the menu numerically under the description of each item.* All in all, the menu is great, the service was spot on excellent(I never had an dirty empty plate or bowl in front [they cleared it fast], and my glass was always full with a drink). I truly appreciate he culinary culture of Southeast Texas broadening its taste buds and palate. So if you have a special night planned or just want to impress a client at lunch, go down to Tokyo Steakhouse & Sushi Bar… I am sure you will all be impressed.

Great food. Amazing service. Friendly, helpful staff. Good location. In Port Arthur on business and staying near the Central Mall. This place is in a brand new building with a fresh and excited staff. The food is great and the prices are average.
