Food is decent… Cleanliness leaves a bit to be desired… The chili is almost identical to Hubba’s…

I had 2 weeks vacation and decided to take a friend on a hot dog tour of the northeast. This is stop #2. We only went to places we’ve never been before. This place had a pretty big menu on the wall with pictures. They had some breakfast items like eggs with chili, etc. I got chili dog with mustard and onions. I also opted for a side of chili. I didn’t see the sizes on the wall, otherwise I wouldn’t have ordered it, because I have a lot of stops on my road trip to visit. It was pretty big and a great value for $ 5. Good for two people if you ask me. The dogs are split in half and then fried. Bread toasted. Not sure if the bread was buttered. The chili was super spicy. I went up to get a drink of water. The guy asked do I want the one on the left or the right. What is this the Matrix making me pick blue or red? The left was pink and the right was just plain old water. The guy said they are both the same thing, though. What’s the deal with making the plain old water pink? Does he put a drop of food coloring in or does he put one single crystal of Kool-aid? Either way I wanted the pink«Texas Water». I figured it was a mind-****. Fake my stomach into a diet making it think it’s getting the flavorful stuff it really wants. While we waited for our food to cook we were looking at the artful money hung all over the wall. I took a picture of just a small section of it. If you look up in the top right by the front window I left my name and . This place is small, with only a few tables, and you may have to walk across the street to park, but I would gladly go back here if I was in the area. It was the best chili I had on my whole trip! Unfortunately I had car troubles and never got to finish my trip, but even if I had finished my trip this would have definitely rated high. If you wish to follow the rest of my road trip, stop #3 is Joey B’s Chili Hub in Cos Cob, CT:

This place is amazing for the chili . The ladies in the counter are sometimes cranky but when I see their clientele I don’t blame them. They should at least ask if we would like a drink considering we’re eating spicy chili. I always have to wait to wash down the chili bc of the service other than that they are always fast and seem cleaner than pats chili

I have been here a few times and always enjoyed the food. One of the reason is for the chili but for some reason it doesn’t taste the same. At first I didn’t know what it was then it hit me… Corned beef. Why would you change the recipe? Is it to save money or to try something different. What ever the reason I hope they change it back. Until then I suggest you go to Hubba’s.

The chili here is AMAZINGLY the foo options aren’t much but the chili makes up for it. I’ve know about Texas Chili most of my life and I never thought of trying it. When I finally did try it, I knew that Texas Chillies chili was the best chili in the world. I only regret one thing, and that is not trying it sooner!

It’s as good as it gets… for what it is… which is a true greasy spoon offering about nine items you can combine 76 ways the upshot of all of which is, good, unhealthy, and cheap as dirt. The Hubba rivalry is covered elsewhere but that’s the deal. We’ve been hitting the Hubba and its outcroppings since the 80s. When Texas opened it was and is pretty much a duplicate. As far as leaving the Capitol or grabbing some drinks at Beer Hall this is a way more convenient locale, and it is also bigger, and cleaner than the current version of the Hubba. Where else will you get a split grilled chili cheese dog that will burn your face off for $ 2.25 at midnight? Exactly.

I grew up going to Hubba’s, and someone said that this was just as good or better. I don’t know about better, but this was very similar. Basically the same menu. It even has the same«hubba water» with a small amount of Kool-Aid in it. the chili is similar, but it certainly has it’s own twist to it. I will definitely return, especially when I feel the urge to increase my heart rate.

This is a place that should go down in history. The fare is listed photographically on the wall, but go right for the Texas Burger with a side of chili fries. This is the best burger in Westchester and at 2.50 you can order two and not break the bank. Great for pre or post show snacking at the Capital Theater. Cash only.

My brother loves this place so he brought me here. the chili is good, flavorful texas style chili, no beans. It packs serious heat! You just have to dig in and keep eating as the heat builds up. This place is a mom n pop style hole in the wall, they keep it clean. They are very proud of their chili, so enjoy. Again, let me mention, ITISSPICYHOT(in a good way) ;)

Curly fries, chili, cheese and a cheese steak California(lettuce, tomato, mayo). Their breakfasts are pretty yummy too.

Yummie. Way better than pats and doesn’t get you sick. Chili cheeseburger wedge and chili cheese fries are the best. Great on the way in, hurts on the way out, but don’t let that stop you.

**Definitely 3 ½ stars but Unilocal doesn’t have half stars yet** This is the spin off to Pats Hubba.(Kinda what Chicken Joes is to Garden Cartering). So if you’ve been to Pats Hubbas it’s nothing new. I usually come here for my chili fixing now a days. Mostly because they offer the Chili Cheese Salchipapas it’s a must try if your here. But pretty much anything with Chili is good here especially on those late drunken nights.
