I ordered a Tacu Tacu with Steak. Lack of presentation on the dish, it looked like a blob of mixed rice and beans with meat on top, very unappealing, tasteless beans and not well done dish at all. The steak was paper thin piece of meat. Our waitress drop the food and she never came back to inquire if we needed anything else.

Came here for the first time today & won’t everrrrrr be returning. My friend and I had to wait a good 10 min for a waitress to come over who spoke English. It took another 15 for our pitcher of sangria to get to the table. We asked for more bread twice and finally received it after we were both nearly done with our food. On top of that I asked both my waitress and a different server for TWO glasses of water. It took quite a while for only one to show up — which had no ice & a lime inside.(Not a huge deal but why? Lol) On a happier note I got the mussels topped with a tomato/onion/lime salad and it was SOO good. My friend had the lomo Saltado but it wasn’t that great compared to other places you can get it in port chester. This place has pretty good food(hence the extra star) but the service REALLY needs to be improved. I’ve worked in the service industry so I tend to cut people breaks but there was really no excuse for how bad my experience here was. Maybe Spanish speakers will have better luck…

I wish I could give this place no stars at all. I heard so many good things about this place. The food I heard was excellent. I heard the food was amazingly presented. But I never got there. It took 10 minutes to get a menu and even after that I never received utensils or a napkin. Also I was never brought any water or asked if I wanted anything to drink. I waited another 10 mins and still nothing. At this point I’m looking at the 2 waitresses as they sip soda and fold napkins while they stare at me. This is already 20 minutes now. So I got fed up and left. Never again. I left and went across the street to BAMBU. I was seated, given some bread and butter and asked what I would like to drink within 5 minutes of being there. Now that’s the service I like. I would like to try nicos again but not if those awful waitresses are still working there.

All dishes we ordered were delicious ! We referred to this restaurant by a friend who claimed they had the best ceviche in port Chester . We ordered ceviche mixto, chauffeur de pollo, and in jalea personal. Ceviche was very good. The jalea which I ordered was also good but a little on the greasy side which I could tell of the back since some of thier seafood seemed soggy rather crispy. For drinks I ordered Chibcha morada. Definitely home made and very refreshing, one of the best chichas I’ve drank in nyc. It was too sweet or watered just perfect ! Chaufa de pollo was on point. And their rocoto sauce was really good and edible so that a persona who doesn’t eat to much spicy can enjoy it. Will definitely be coming back here!

Where are the other reviews? This spot was convenient to tonight’s Pixies show at the Capitol so I returned to Nico’s for the jalea, a large and well-prepared pile of fried seafood. For sauce enthusiasts, the red and green offering may well be worth the 48-minute Metro-North ride from Grand Central. Since chicken is in the title it probably makes sense for me to try that item on my third visit.
