A lawnmower I bought last year for $ 200 on Amazon they sell for $ 300… The joke is though they want $ 120 to fix it. Thank God for Craigslist

I took in my lawn vac /chipper to have it tuned up. They delivered it on time and on their estimate. It runs great again and looks brand new. Great, no nonsense service.

I brought my chainsaw in to have the blades sharpened, but as it turned out the blades were too far gone. The fellows at Woodstock Mower and Chainsaw recommended changing the blades, which was only a few bucks more than a sharpening, and did it for me within a few minutes. I’ve been in a few times for chainsaw fuel and they’ve always been friendly and helpful.

Very helpful folks, and set clear expectations for my repair work, with which they did a great job. Nice to know that friendly, personal service is still alive and well. Am also surprised how well stocked they are with readily-available quality products for having a relatively small storefront.

I was in over my head when I bought my Stihl ms250 chainsaw from this place, I, being greatly humbled from my inexperience in not knowing how to even«start» my new saw, went back with my tail between my legs and asked for help. They without hesitation, showed me the correct way to start the chainsaw without me feeling embarrassed. Each time I have issues with operating it, they always help me. Now, I have the confidence to lay down swaths of forests at my whims and to threaten virgin female campers!!! Just kidding. I love trees. Kind of a spendy place though, but top notch equipment only.

Waited until the first sunny days of spring to bring in our lawnmower for repair so was not surprised to find that there were many people ahead of us. But they were very nice about it, gave a turnaround time which was met, and offered a free loaner mower when needed. Very courteous. While I was there I asked them to take a look at our Black and Decker weedwacker which has always been a piece of junk even though we splurged and bought the more expensive model. The salesperson Travis explained the benefits of the one that they sell which is designed by a chainsaw manufacturer Stihl and cost I think $ 119. I was promised that this edger was the bomb and according to the hubby who handles the yardwork(southern girls don’t operate mowers etc!), it is indeed awesome. No more cursing from the hubby about the crappy weedwacker. The shop even registers the product for you so that they have it on file. Very happy with this place and the repair price was reasonable.

Took my riding lawnmower in and told them what was wrong with it(not holding a charge). They called me up 2 weeks later to tell me they ran tests on it and it appears to not hold a charge. I told them that’s what I brought it in for and that’s noted on the ticket they wrote up for the mower. He then say’s I’ll call you back. A week later they say they have fixed it so I go and they start it for me and I take it home. Next day the mower won’t start again like before — completely dead. So I take it back again. They say it must be the battery — I tell them it’s been replaced a month ago so they say they’ll work on it again but since it’s already been there before it’s now on the«priority» list to be repaired. $ 350.00 later they say they have it fixed so I take it home a second time. Next day just like before it doesn’t start again and it’s completely dead. SO I take it to a more reputable lawn mower repair shop in Milwaukie off of Mclaughlin Blvd. They have it for a week and call me and tell me the truth about the lawnmower — it’s going to cost more than it’s worth to fix it — period. After Woodstock Mower had it for over 3 weeks and at the cost of $ 350 my mower was the same as when I took it in. Sad, because I like supporting local business’s expecially in my neighborhood Woodstock but I’ll never go back there again.

Requested parts. They gave a time frame. They did not meet it. Will review again if I go in again.

So I am certainly not one to know ANYTHING about lawn mowers. I just know that you have to keep your hands and feet away from the blade at all times, and that it is best to go slow rather than end up running after it. But, as a new home people, my lover and I are finding that there are certain things we need, like a full gardening/lawn care kit. Since, they don’t seem to make these, we’ve had to piece ‘em together. Yes, we went to Home Depot(it was AWFUL– we walked out), and tried our luck on craigslist, yard sales, and at local nurseries to find some local, home/garden supplies that weren’t too expensive. But it was a pretty fruitless search. So, when we discovered Woodstock Mower and Chain we were thrilled to find 1 used lawn mower that was in great shape, came with a 45 day warranty and was just a touch higher than our price range. The people at this store were actual real people, and they were friendly, offering us tips on how to keep our new home appliance in great shape. They also seemed to corner the market on repairs at this store, there were at least 5 – 6 people bringing blades, chains and mowers to them in the 20 mins. that we were there. So for those in the know it seems to be like the spot. And how cool to actually get to learn about big, tough tools I never knew existed, like a string trimmer! It was fun, and the guys over there will totally treat you like a human, and help you find what you need. I have great respect for them for keeping it real lawn care style.
