Great place. I didn’t realize it was there until someone told me. I must have walked by it ten times. Drinks are great, food is great, atmosphere is great. 4 of five because of the noise. Not sure if it is an echo because of the high ceilings but it is super loud. So loud I couldn’t hear the person sitting next to me. No music just ambient noise from everyone talking. Crazy loud.

Old fashion cocktails. Love love love. Fun bar food to pick at and really fun, lively place. I work a few times a month around the corner and it’s a great place to decompress. Just go

This place is super small, but I loved the close atmosphere and the drink menu. Overall, the vibe was really awesome. I loved how there was very soft music and no TVs— really encouraged everyone to talk to one another. I think that this is one of my favorite bars that I’ve ever been too– classy and small. It is crowded; so hopefully you don’t mind standing if you are there during peak times.

The Eddy is one of Providence’s best cocktail bars. With that in mind, it’s always going to be crowded(There really aren’t many places that fit this exact niche). Anyways, inside is a small bar up against the wall with a couple counters that you can stand along around the perimeter of the bar. There’s a couple booths off in the back area. By my estimate, I’d say fitting 30 would be tight; be sure to go during the week or be prepared to deal with tight quarters. Despite the crowds, drinks are served up much more quickly than you’d expect out of such a small cramped bar. the cocktails are pretty spectacular. The punch is a great standout. It’s boozy and 6 bucks! Other cocktails are great too. Can’t speak to the snacks they have. I’d love to come back, but maybe during the week!

Easily once of the best bars in PVD. But you have to know what you’re getting yourself into. If you want $ 2 cans of Bud Light and your generic bar style buffalo wings, this place ain’t for you my friend. If you do want some of the best craft cocktails in PVD and ‘out of the box’ bar food like Bavarian pretzels, burrata and deviled eggs — you’ve come to the right spot, kids! I’ve found this place to be equally enjoyable on a date night, after a show at PPAC and on a lazy Saturday for some drinks and snacks. It’s tiny(I think this place can hold 30 – 40 people, tops?) and can get packed, but its a lot of fun to get a seat at the bar and see the bartenders whipping up cocktail after cocktail like demons. While it’s not a craft cocktail, per se, the old fashioned on tap is just dangerous. So good and so easy to slam down 4 – 5 of those bad boys, get up and have your legs give out ha Don’t be like this last person I’m about to mention. I’m there on a Saturday night, bar is pretty jammed and a girl comes in first asking for a cranberry vodka. Turns out the bartender did not have cranberry at that time. She then turns back a minute or two later and asks for a bloody mary — at like 11pm — which the bartender also could not make. If you’re looking for cranberry vodka’s and bloody’s, go to the million other dive bars in this city!

The Eddy is a gorgeous space downtown for a few drinks and tapas. The space is small and since we came in a group, most of us had to stand. The service was fast and friendly. We tried several different cocktails. The orange julius caesar and sazerac weren’t the typical drinks we’d order but delicious nonetheless. The soft pretzels and deviled eggs were tasty. I think I’ll wander down on a weeknight to avoid the crowd.

Just to give context, this is my favourite bar in providence even though that doesn’t say much. I’ve come here many times and have spent consistent weeks here since long ago. However, very recently a party of 5 and myself went to the Eddy’s for a drink that night. At the end of the night, we split the bill and paid for our own drinks. I was the last one who paid, and just happened to only tip $ 3 on the bill and handed the rest of the tip in cash. To my surprise, found out the next day that the tip was increased to $ 10 assuming that whoever cashed up that night thought it wasn’t appropriate for me to tip so little. Well, manager or whoever the hell ends up reading this, someone needs to get fired because this is illegal and I have never been back since. Poor form, rude and very unprofessional. It is a costumers right to tip whatever they want however they want, even if you think it is not just. Pay your employees more if you think they are underpaid, it is not my responsibility to make up the difference EVEN after I have tipped.

Too expensive for the quality of service. The bartenders aren’t friendly either. I did not try the food because it was way to busy in there. I did like the décor but it wasn’t enough for me to want to come back.

When I think of heading to Providence for a cocktail or two(or more), my first thought is always The Eddy. This place is tiny, but we have always seemed to manage to find a seat at or around the bar. The bartenders are true mixologists, crafting beautiful, well balanced cocktails. Fresh juices, unusual ingredients, cool ice — they have it all. The owner is thankful for his customers. I love the artwork on the wall(the big plane painting), the little bathroom that always seems to be available when I need it, and how cool the vibe is in here, without being pretentious. Just a great drink with some nice people in a cool place. My favorite.

This is an excellent little spot in downtown Providence. These people know drinks. Trust them to make you a delicious concoction. The service is excellent. True, it may take a few extra moments to get that drink but it’s made to perfection. While you’re waiting, check out their snack menu. The deviled eggs are ridiculously good. Or go simple and try the mixed nuts. Then enjoy the ambiance. The people watching is fantastic and the rectangular bar allows for easy conversations between friends, patrons and bartenders.

It’s a cool place but very small. Liquor selection is limited as is the space to have a seat. Standing is likely your only option. I enjoyed the aesthetics of the bar, noticing immediately the painting of a plane as I walked in. I wish it had more room. It’s a great place to have a long conversation with someone if you can find a table, but gets crowded quickly.

Finally made it to the Eddy. Went for a few drinks with friends and we had a great time. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back, it’s quiet enough to talk, and the drinks were really good. They also had a small but great beer list. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back. If you are looking for a low key place to grab a few drinks, you won’t be disappointed.

Wow cocktails – amazing and hard to choose just a couple. Bartenders were nice and food was solid. We had the salmon crostinis and they were good. I thought prices were reasonable for the different selection but yes, they are closer to Boston(NOT as much as NYC at all). The punch was good – we shared it and they put it in two separate glasses which was great.

Great little place in central Providence. We were a group of four and finding a seat was quite difficult, due to the popularity and small size. Normally, this would turn us off staying, but we were attracted by the excellent cocktail menu and professional staff. What was planned as one cocktail ended up being a long and very enjoyable evening. The staff were excellent, very friendly and very efficient, always there to check if we needed a fresh drink or a nibble. Speaking of nibbles, the Bavarian pretzel with maple butter is an absolute must. Delicious! Washed down with a nice cocktail or beer. The prices are slightly higher than I’d normally like to pay, but honestly it was worth it. The Eddy is a splendid place, and I will be back next time I’m in Providence.

To sum it up in two words: extraordinary cocktails! Those two words tell you everything you need to know about The Eddy, but even the work extraordinary doesn’t do it justice. We came here on a Saturday evening and luckily snagged two seats at the bar after standing up for only a minute or so. Sitting at the bar is the way to go; you’ll miss out on the experience if you have to sit down at a table. Assuming you can get a coveted seat at the bar, you get to observe the master at work. The main bartender is also the owner and he is a well-oiled machine. Taking orders around the bar while mixing all sorts of other drinks and never forgetting what goes where. Watching this master of his craft work is also a spectacle, as the shakers begin to fly, ice cubes are smashed, and oranges are gently peeled and wiped on glass rims. The cocktails are VERY good. Do not be dissuaded by the small glasses they are served in, they are stronger than they appear. They are all reasonably priced as well, ranging between $ 9-$ 12. I had a sazerac and a rum old fashioned and both were very good. If you aren’t one for cocktails, they do have a small craft beer list, including a 9.8% which was quite delicious. And once you’ve had a couple(or more than a couple) drinks, and you get the hankering for some food, The Eddy delivers once again! We ordered the garlic bread($ 5) as a small appetizer and were very pleased with it.

The Eddy is an awesomely intimate craft cocktail venue in Providence. My boyfriend and I were super impressed with our experience. After a dinner downtown, we decided to look for a cocktail bar nearby for some after-dinner drinks, which is how we stumbled upon The Eddy. We lucked out when we arrived, because after standing along the wall for a few minutes(we had even placed our drink orders at this point), some spots at the bar opened up so we were able to sit down. The bar is warm and inviting with dark wood all along the bar and walls, making it feel warm but not pretentious. There was just 1 bartender, and watching him craft so many different drinks so quickly was mesmerizing! We tried a House Punch, one of the creamsicle drinks(forgot the name) and a Rum Old Fashioned(think a Manhattan but with rum instead of whiskey). All the drinks were excellent. I can see this place getting really crowded, and there really isn’t much room, but if you can snag a craft cocktail from The Eddy, you won’t be disappointed!

Best RI Bar, If your looking for a bar that can create drinks that are one of a kind, look no further. If you want a cocktail list, they have one… If you want something only they make, give them an idea of what you like and you will be hooked on this place for life. I have explored more new Amaro and bitters here then I knew existed. Many of the cocktails I make at home are just imitations of what I’ve ordered here. I love the layout out, window seating with tables, traditional bar and stools, or the two large booths in the back. No matter where you sit, you can order«snacks». Not your average bar food, gourmet bites that match their exceptional cordials! Seriously, why can’t I give this place 6 stars…
