Went to Ptown for the day and naturally we had to make a reservation for dinner beforehand. We found The Pointe on OpenTable so we made a reservation based on the good reviews. It’s connected to an Inn which seemed nice. The restaurant was in a nice cozy space surrounded by windows as well as a screened in porch. The specials are shown to you via an Ipad which is an interesting touch. 2 of us ordered drinks, both of which I heard were light and fruity. 5 of us ordered the clam chowder to start which was delicious. Comes in a large bowl and loaded with clams. Very good! They also give you bread to start which was served with a hummus dip. For entrees, we ordered the Poached Lobster and Chive gnocchi, steamed lobster, pan seared scallops, halibut and salmon. We thought there would be lobster in the gnocchi but instead it was placed on top. The gnocchi was doughy and light. The scallop dish came with 5 large scallops in a sweet orange glaze. My only complaint is i wish the scallops had some sear on them; they were cooked well there was just no texture. The parmesan risotto that came with the halibut was creamy and paired well with the halibut. The pea sauce was to die for! Everything we had was good, not great. Pricey for good size portions especially for fresh seafood. Lovely location and quiet; a short walk from Commercial Street… certainly worth a try if you’re in Provincetown.

The best filet mignon I’ve ever had! The lobster ravioli was excellent as well as the Meyer lemon custard pie.

We had a nice experience here during the off season(late March). The ambience was lovely, the service was great, very friendly and nicely paced. We had a 2lb lobster and the lemon thyme cod with parmesan risotto. The lobster was what you’d expect and the cod was fine, but the real star was the risotto. So freakin good! We’ll be back.

So nice to see a place stuffed to the gills with patrons at 7:15pm. Glad we had reservations. We were asked to select one of two side by side tables for two inside. I yearned for the porch, but the single woman diner just before us snagged the last table there at the time. Poor hubby had to stare transfixed at the street light outside no matter how much I told him it was okay to stare at me. The gentleman who sat us asked for a drink order, yay, so nice to ask right away! And bread came right away too. Then the wait. Our waiter Ken was so nice and endearing and slow. After my prosecco was finished I was wanting a glass of wine, then wanting it to miraculously appear in front of me without ordering it, then, yes, same gentleman who sat us to the rescue, he asked if we wanted more from the bar, yes, the glass of white, oh good, yeah. Where is Ken? Ken arrived to explain the specials. Ooooh flounder stuffed with crab, yum. I ordered it and my hubby the halibut. Hmmm, hubby and I then heard Ken say to the table two inches from us that the the flounder was stuffed with haddock. Not to worry, I like haddock! We ordered the«snack of scallops and risotto». Couldn’t wait. and wait and wait. Couple next to us got escargo and a salad and they sat down 15min after us… argh. Finally scallops and risotto. Very tiny, but perfect«snack» two scallops and a dollop of risotto in between. Nummed up every bit. Wish I had ordered the deviled eggs, too. A bit more of a wait when gentleman who had seated us asked if we would like more bread, yes please. Halibut and flounder arrive. And a side of roasted asparagus because we like our veg. Bite of flounder– omg delish. and definitely stuffed with crab, whew! Gentleman next to me had the flounder stuffed with«haddock» wonder if he ever knew the difference… Hubby bummed because halibut overcooked, verified by me. boo. We were too nice and did not return it to the kitchen(and worried about a lengthy refire). Husband later said«the halibut gave it’s life for nothing». No dessert because we wanted to get back to our fresh snapdragon apples at our apartment, and viewing of «Narcos» on Netflix. So Pointe, you weren’t on point, but we like you. Service is ever so important, as is accuracy. Please don’t overcook that beautiful halibut steak! My neighbor down the street cooks it in parchment and it is moist mouthfuls every time! A thought? P. S. I don’t think you really need the notebook visuals of the specials and desserts. Especially since my flounder came with the most tasty grape tomato side I’ve ever had… which was not pictured. Sometimes tech gets in the way.

Dinner at The Pointe was great! Sitting on the porch was a treat. The beet salad and clam chowder were perfect starters. Our entrees were the special cod and swordfish with the cheesy risotto which is on the regular menu. We had no more for dessert but they looked great!

Outstanding experience. We had a great dinner and night. We made a reservation with open table and they seated us on time and nice spot. Thanks for the good experience we will dine again. We ordered the Scallop diner and the filet mignon simply marvelous. Recommend to others.

We were looking for a cheap dinner in P-Town. No such place! But The Pointe came up on Unilocal as a $$ restaurant. It’s more accurate to rate it $$$. Nonetheless, it was the best dinner we’ve had all week! What a great surprise. The service was excellent and the food outstanding. I had the halibut and it was perfection.

We had a very delicious dinner here after riding bikes all day through Provincelands. I had the tofu dish and my fiancé had the cod which he thought was excellent! The buffalo chicken meatballs were also a delicious starter and we enjoyed the lemon pie for dessert. The patio has a beautiful view of the pilgrim monument which was gorgeous at sunset. It was a perfect end to our day trip to Provincetown.

Had a few Martinis at the Bar and very nice dinner in Patio. We had a table with a very nice view of the Pilgrim Monument. We had Halibut and it was delicious. Very close to the night clubs and downtown.

This place has more charm from the outside than it has inside. I am confused by what type of atmosphere they are trying to create, casual elegance perhaps? It is odd that they have POP music playing in the dining room– I feel like it doesn’t go. The views from The dining room were beautiful. The food wasn’t great. I ordered steak frites and I was given two medium sized steak tips and fries. Hardly my idea of steak frites. My fiancé ordered the halibut which was good but they were skimpy on the risotto. They had a good drink menu but we noticed there was no mention of beer anywhere. Not sure if they have Beer but when we questioned our server if there are«additional drink options» we were given the after dinner spirits menu which didn’t help us. Overall, not saying this place was terrible but I wouldn’t go back.

Had a really nice meal here with my parents tonight. The food and service were both excellent, but the ambiance left a bit something to be desired. The lobster and chubs gnocchi was delicious and had plenty of meet! Highly recommended! The restaurant itself is small and so it can get quite loud if you are seated next to a larger party, as we were. It could be hard to hear each other sometimes. Overall though, it was a great meal!

Excellent. Atmosphere and service were absolutely excellent. I was worried after reading some of the negative reviews but we decided to judge for ourselves. The drinks were a little strong but we found after our weekend that drinks everywhere in Provincetown were on the strong side, so I say it’s better than getting something watered down. The meal was delicious. We had a huge meatball appetizer which was very good, we both had filet mignon which were cooked perfectly. We would’ve wanted more potatoes but the menu said«a dollop of potatoes» so it wasn’t unexpected. Presentation was great throughout the meal including dessert. We were very well attended to, quick refills of water and plate removals, and never felt we waited too long for anything. Everyone pitched in, was never just the server helping with bringing or removing dishes. Very nice experience and we’ll definitely enjoy a meal there again.

My partner and I had dinner here in hopes of getting a bargain on Italian night(Sunday). In the off-season, the Bistro offers special deals on certain nights. Italian night consists of certain pasta entrées for $ 16. We dined here this past March and last December. All on Italian night. This review is based on the food only on this visit. The service and parking are a 5STAR. Service was impeccable. Views are awesome of the monument(especially on the porch only; main dining area not so much, 4.5 star). Parking is free and ample at the lot across the street(off-season only). We ordered sparkling water for dinner. Soon after, we received comp bread and tiny hummus spread. I know it’s free but give each person a portion of spread, geez. ARTICHOKE&SPINACHDIP $ 9(3.5÷5) Small portion dip, over done pita bread. Nothing to brag about. This was ordered extra and definitely not worth it. I had the seafood ciopino. It wasn’t the same as previous experiences. Portion for everything was half the size tonight than prior visits. Also, it lacked flavor and hardly any broth to enjoy. DISAPPOINTING. My partner had the chicken parm. Chicken was okay but had same minuscule amount of pasta. The Bistro is apparently applying that term bistro in dining today. UNDERWHELMED here too. The ONLY plus, you receive a «family» size salad to share when 1 or 2 entrées are ordered. So, again this review is for food only. 3STARSDESERVED. We were let down tonight; I hope they improve on our next visit.

This restaurant was decent. Not our favorite of PTown but it was decent. The main courses were just okay. We went on a specialty night and tried the Italian options. Maybe their food is better on other nights. The view of the lighthouse from their porch is amazing… especially at night. The staff was really friendly and accommodating. I’m not sure if the menu changes but… THEBUFFALOMEATBALLS were amazing. I don’t even like spicy food but these meatballs were AMAZE. If they still have them on the menu then you must order! We went during off-season in late October so getting a reservation wasn’t hard at all and the place was almost empty which made it a beautiful and romantic spot. I am sure during the peak season it may get a little crowded… but no worries they are on OpenTable!

I am giving it 1 star because you cant give it 0. We went on advice of friends early this past summer. We had goid food and service. The view down Bradford St was beatiful. We went back a month later the food was fair, the service slow and lackluster. End of August we went back. After being seated and getting a drink, we waited 45 minutes for our appetizer. I said to the waiter, are you going to send us a complimentary drink for our long wait. He said he would ask the owner. The owner came over said…“i heard you demanded a free drink” i said we demanded nothing. He went on with a surly tone and finally said, fine I will take your drink off the bill. I said to my husband who couldnt even eat his bland appetizer, we are leaving. When I told the owner we were leaving, he said«Good» This is an awful place. Go to our new favorite… Front St. Great food and atmosphere, no pompous attitude. I am sure they were short staffed, end of season issue, that doesn’t excuse being rude.

We were very disappointed. I understand the late season blues that affect some of the restaurants in Provincetown. However, there was so much wrong, I have to say, it suggests serious problems with the establishment. Yes, the view is terrific. Yes, the dining room is gorgeous. Yes, the staff are friendly. Leave now and get a sandwich some place else. It goes downhill fast. I ordered after a quick read of the extensive specialty drinks. The ginger martini was reminiscent of the time I spent with my grandmother. Whenever I had a cold she gave me cough syrup that was sweet and syrupy. I wasn’t coughing. It wasn’t even cold. We ordered the lobster gnocchi and steamed muscles for appetizers. A friend raved about the gnocchi. They never came! After a long wait munching on under baked bread, the waiter arrived with our entrees. He presented them as a magician — with enough flair and misdirection, perhaps we won’t notice that he made the appetizers disappear. Apologies all around. «Shall I take them off the bill?» Do other patrons pay for items they don’t receive? Maybe on those occasions when the waiter remembers to offer a second drink! He never did. «The kitchen forgot to cook them.» That is a great piece of news to give to people who are about to eat their entrees: the kitchen does not know what they are doing. The encrusted cod special was very good. The lamb chop was a salty bit of bone. We won’t be back.
