This was my first time at Uncle Mike’s and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I got the tri tip sandwich with fries. The meat was very tender, very juicy. Service was great and the meal was ready very quickly. Overall a very pleasant experience!

Best Tri Tip ever! My personal favorite is their grilled chicken club, youcan taste the love this place puts in their food. The staff is great, the place is clean, I truly love my experiences here. I’m happy to know it was bought by good hands. Exited to see where Madaynes Legacy takes the place.

The new owner is incredibly friendly. They make their own in house ketchup thats free of high fructose corn syrup and have msg free ranch. Not to mention the burgers are a lot more impressive than most in town. The Bacon and bleu cheese burger was off the hook and cooked with perfect pink in the middle. And in less than 10 min my three friends and I were eating, very fast service. Great job uncle mikes!

Just went here for the third time. It was awesome the first time we went! Second time food was dry and over cooked. Thought maybe we would try again! NO it was not good. They had some home made ketchup that was like tomato paste it was so gross. We had to take our food Togo after getting it remade so we could get ketchup from home. Also it was very cold inside like 73 with the AC on. It was not hot out as it is February! Won’t go back

This place is great. My wife and I were pleased with the service and most of all the price! The meat here is purchased from the local RnR meats shop and the price of the meals are spot on. Recommend this place for lunch, dinner, or even to just grab a drink. Fairly new but they’re starting it off right!

Found a new burger joint. This place is very good and the prices aren’t that bad. You get quality meat that is local… really love that part. So much better then the Habit.

Not as good as Bricks. Poop. We don’t have an on –the– way-home joint to stop at anymore. Passable pastrami, but expensive. OK pulled pork. Hopefully they get it together. I will try it again.

Great customer service but food was just OK. I liked the onion rings and the burger was OK, but they could have put on a less expensive bun and maybe saved me some $. Those Franz brioche buns are not cheap and I believe this is part of the reason the burger seemed over priced. They did put a good amount of blue cheese on my burger and bacon but for around $ 13 for my burger and onion rings seemed a little high for a similar dive burger joint.

I don’t understand why this place is still open. Horrible. Maybe it will be shut down soon. New owners.

Great burger made with meat from R & R Meats here in Redding. Fries are fresh and delicious, not from frozen. Service was friendly and fast. They also serve beer!

There were a few small issues, but the place is new so I’m betting when they work out the kinks, it will be worthy of a full five stars. I’m in a wheelchair and most places I go just let me struggle with everything by myself, but the cashier rushed to open the door for me and even got my drink. I’ve been in this wheelchair for 38 years, and that’s only the second time someone has offered to get my drink for me. She did get my order wrong, but I think she just misunderstood when I asked for«No cheese» because most people want it, so I don’t really think that was her fault. The fries were a bit soggy, but that’s probably because I had to wait for the burger to be remade. I’ll know for sure when I return, because this has just become my burger joint of choice. I live in the neighborhood, and this place really beats the mystery meat at BK and Carl’s, plus you get more meat for the same money here. I’m looking forward to trying some of the other items on the menu, particularly the pulled pig and the milk shakes. And they have those wonderful dinner franks, so this would be a great place to take the kids. There’s beer on tap and big screen TVs, so Dad should be happy here, too. I hardly ever give 5 star reviews because such online reviews are usually fake, and I want people to know I’m giving an honest review. But I was really tempted this time because the food was so tasty. If I could, I’d give it 4.5 stars because I feel that’s a more accurate assessment of my experience there. It’s the kind of burger and fries I remember getting when I was young. Looking forward to my next visit.

The regular burger and fries are nothing special… my bun and fries both were just a little overdone. But the combo #1 with burger, fries and a drink at $ 6 was still worth it. Despite that overdoneness, I got tons of fries, the burger was well cooked, and the bun wasn’t soggy like what I got recently at Gene’s. About as good as damburger but more generous. There are tons of burger joints in Redding and I’ve tried at least 10 since I moved here 6 months ago. Surprisingly, given that competition, not many are good. So far, I rate Mike’s just behind The Habit.(Red Robin isn’t in the same league… they’re very good, but pricey.)

Good burgers. Plenty of meat. A tad greasy for my taste, but otherwise it was very good. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

My husband and I tried the Pastrami Burger and a Double Cheese. The burger patties were EXCEPTIONALLY juicy, well seasoned and delicious. The burgers come with pink, so if you’re a well done kinda kid, ask for it well done. The fries are shoestring style and very lightly salted which is considerate. I’m a salt junky so I pretty much always salt my fries, but I appreciate when a place doesn’t try to over salt for me because not everyone wants to down 10 days worth of sodium in one serving. The condiment bar has got the little extra tidbits that are always an awesome addition. I mixed up some fry sauce(½ ketchup ½ mayo) and pounded the fries like my life depended on it. The burger was a great size, totally tasty, and cheese well melted. I’m excited to see this place grow and hope they stick around for a long time. Also, the staff was chipper and helpful which always makes a good burger great. There is a bar nook, swoop in and check it out.

Decided to check this place out as it recently opened. I love a good burger cooked and garnished MY way and wasn’t disappointed. As good as any hamburger served anywhere in Redding! The curly fries were a perfect compliment. Don’t let the décor deter you… this is a burger joint. The place is clean, the staff was cheerful and friendly and the food was good! If you like a good hamburger you should try Uncle Mikes

This place is well worth going to. Ignore the bad reviews. If you like In N Out this restaurant is much better and in closer vicinity(for western Redding). And they have a good beer selection! You wont find a better deal for the price and quality they have. The food only took 10 minutes to arrve but thats expected. This isnt Mcdonalds after all.

My friend, her daughter and I went to lunch here at 12:00 on a Tuesday. They were moderately busy but not too bad, no line at the cashier. Well, we waited 30 minutes to get our food. I know they are a new business and are still working out the kinks but 30 minutes is way to long to wait. When the waitress brought our food she didn’t even apologize for the wait and wasn’t very friendly. Plus a man who ordered 10 minute after us got his food before us! But on the bright side at least the food wasn’t too bad. The fries are really good.

Goodbye Bricks, hello Uncle Mike. I made a shocking discovery: Most of the mom-and-pop restaurants in Redding closed on the Fourth of July. But I’m hungry, I wanted to have local grub, McDonald’s was out. On my way down Highway 299, I noticed this place, decided to stop in. The fact that they were open won my business; competition, take notice. Uncle Mike’s wasn’t busy yet. Or maybe everyone in town was keeping cool before they venture out to watch the fireworks. Anyway, I had their big boy, a 2⁄3 pound beauty with pepperjack cheese and onion rings. You can add extras if you want; I put sauerkraut on mine. Total with medium Coke was just under $ 15. The burger was pretty good. Nice and meaty, cooked medium well, the pepperjack cheese added a good taste to it. The onion rings caught me by surprise, though: they had a crunchy skin with lots of garlic on it. I love garlic! No need for ketchup for these. I did find, near the end, that the taste was a little too strong. This was my first time in Redding, so I can’t compare Uncle Mike’s to its predecessor. It’s good enough for me, though. It’s the kind of place for families to get together, Shasta and Simpson students to see how much they can eat, or sports fans to watch the Giants. I hope the town comes out to support this new business.
