The service was very slow. The seared Ahi was ok just very heavy on the salt and not sure why. The Veal that I had was dry and chewy. Now it was not all bad the table bread was very good. I will not return.

great service for overpriced mediocre food. Our waitress was amazing and was great at sales, unfortunately the food she was promoting left me and my group unsatisfied, and feeling kind of burned. When a salad that looks like it was barely made costs 12 bucks(It looked like they cut a portion of a head of lettuce off, sprinkled dressing and croutons on it, with massive chunks of cheese), thats where i raised my eyebrow. When my mahi mahi in lemon caper sauce doesnt even taste like lemon, and the fish tastes like its not fresh, and I pay 30 bucks for it, my eyebrows jump off my face. When you order something like mahi mahi, the broccoli and rice shouldnt taste better than the main portion of the meal. The other people eating with me also had subpar food from this restaurant. While I am glad i tried it, I probably wont be coming back. This restaurant sells mediocre food at a high price.

Where should I start? Here’s the run-down: 1. Reservations for 10 at Greensleeves(practically next door). 7:00. Made a month in advance. Restaurant dark. Note on door. Fire in alley. Not important to call us to let us know? 2. What to do? Go next door, unannounced and state our predicament to the hostess at Citrone. NOPROBLEM. Yes, we can accommodate your LARGE party. Give us a minute. Seated in about five. 3. John is our server. This gentlemen is a pro, patient, agreeable, funnier than hell(as were we, any one of the party of which could have done at least a ten minute bit at the Comedy Store that night) — just fantastic. 4. Great cocktails. I come from a small northern Cal town that is known for food, wine and craft cocktails. Citrone is right there. 5. All dinners were superb. This is a three $$$ restaurant, but except for a couple specials, the pricing really is very reasonable and more at the middle to low end of $$$. Coda: Take any review of Citrone under 4 stars with a grain of something. Age of Unilocaler, date of Unilocal(older than 2015?), unreasonable expectation based on naïvety of restaurant protocol(You expected free soda water? Why? Are you on a bar-hopping tour?), etc. Great place!

Staff friendliness — excellent Drink Menu — average Food — inedible We ordered the Citrone stack and the Tortellini… The tortellini was undercooked and tasted like someone got a bag of frozen pasta from stater bros and dumped it on our plate. The Citrone stack was also undercooked, as the eggplant was still chewy, and the flavor was that of a can of tomato sauce dumped on some half-cooked vegetables. To add insult to injury, their pricing is similar to Mortons/Ruth’s Chris/Flemmings, without delivery of a product worthy of the price.

This place is a great date spot. White table cloths, dim lighting. Really nice. The drinks are great, the food.mediocre. if you want really good italian I’d say go with Mario’s. This place is really great for a night cap. The waiters were all very nice and helpful. I really like the atmosphere, wish the food was better. I ordered the sea bass and my husband ordered beef and peppers pasta. They both lacked richness and depth. I may try again just because i love the atmosphere and people.

One of the specials last night was Ono fish. Well named. It was bland and tasteless. A fillet of fish sandwich would have been much better. Also note this is a very overpriced place. I think 29.00 $ is lowest price entrée and salad and dessert is extra. Everything here is extra. After we placed our order, the waiter asked us if we wanted some bread. An unexpected charge for a tiny bread. Nothing is complimentary.

I lived in Redlands for 10 years and Citrone was always the best food in town. I moved to San Diego a few years ago but always make a point to hit Citrone when I am back in town. San Diego has a lot of great spots but Citrone is still #1 on my list. Huge fan of their ribeye and their Gorgonzola with porcine mushrooms and sausage is amazing. The staff is always attentive and friendly. I love the casual atmosphere of the open kitchen, artwork and brickwork in the building. I have know the owner for years and have always appreciated his loyalty to customers that come in often to the place. You can tell he cares that you have an good experience in his place. And if you like wine they have one of the best lists I have seen from low priced options to high.

Just finished a delicious dinner. Don recommended the Pork Chop ~ assured us it would be the best we’d ever had. He was right! Highly recommend the mushroom risotto as well. Overall a wonderful experience! Don’s professionalism and witty sense of humor made for a very enjoyable evening! We’ll be back soon! =)

I spoke to Michael the owner and made a reservation for dinner on a Friday night. When we arrived, Michael had set aside a beautiful table for us and we were seated by our server Taylor. We loved everything about the restaurant. Taylor was very nice, attentive, friendly and professional. The food was very good. We will return!

Classic restaurant. Nice atmosphere and always great salads. We had the porterhouse steak as a special and it was rough. I ordered the classic eggplant stack and it was bad. Not enough eggplant and mushrooms were uncooked. I’ve had this before so I know they can do better. Service was good– waiter very nice and helpful.

I was looking for a new place to take my wife for date night. When we walked in we were immediately greeted warmly and quickly seated. The atmosphere was nice. And service was great! I ordered the Ciopino and my wife ordered the cheese ravioli with shrimp. Both dishes were prepared perfectly and tasted delicious! The Ciopino had a great variety of delicious fish, mussels, shrimp and oysters. The ravioli was cooked perfect with a yummy pesto sauce. Will definitely be back! ! Highly recommend! !

Read about this place on one of the best date nights in the IE. Very classy setting. We went here on a date. Prices mid range 25 – 45 depending on plate. very reasonable for the quality of food and service. It all tasted so fresh Garlic bread amazing.. And holy cow the cheese tortellinis with chicken was to die for. The pesto sauce was perfect for bread dipping! Definitely coming back to this place next time we’re in the area! –Oso_eclectic

Food went downhill after they crossed the street years ago, so we stopped eating here. My last experience a couple of weeks ago really took the cake. A group of 8 of us met for drinks in the lounge in the back. Everyone in the group ordered many drinks except for me — designated driver. I stuck with club soda(not bottled, but from the bar gun-dispenser). At the end of the evening I was presented with a bill of 3.00 plus tax for my club soda. Tacky.

Best experience I’ve ever had being a first time visitor! I had John as my server and he was well trained to attention to detail. Every entrée came with its own utensil. I didn’t modify anything that I ordered from the beet salad to the amazing lamb chops that I asked to be cooked to chefs liking… And then finally with a sweet crème brûlée. The experience from when I walked in to when I left had me in awe and would recommend this place to anyone coming out this way!!! Keep doing whatever it is and I will be coming back with friends and family! Thank you to all who worked on 11÷5÷15!

Had a lovely evening here the other night. It is quiet and the servers are very attentive and never rush you. Don’t come for dinner if you are looking to grub and go. It’s a place to savor a bottle of wine with a friend or date and have some of the finer fare in Redlands. Every time I have an opportunity to get a porkchop at a nice restaurant I almost always choose it. It’s my tester. Kind of like vanilla ice cream… if you can’t do that right, I don’t trust the rest of your fla

What an AMAZING romantic dinner me and my husband had last night!!! The food was so delicious! We even ended up being later with our reservation than we thought, but our waiter Alex took such good care of us! He really made our night special. Even when they were closing up, he told us to take our time. It was actually really nice to have the restaurant to ourselves… Made the romantic mood that much better. We got especially lucky that even after the kitchen crew left, we still had our waiter Alex… Who just so happens to be a pantry chef! He fixed our desserts perfectly… My crème brulé was just heavenly!!! This is a place I’ll definitely want to come back to! Thank you so much Alex! And thank you so much Citrone!!! Tell the chef he’s brilliant!!! Me and my husband found a new favorite restaurant to add to our list!!! Thank you!!!

I have no idea why this restaurant doesn’t have a solid four star rating. Please don’t let the mediocre Unilocal reviews scare you off. This place is fantastic… really cool building, open kitchen, great wine list, fantastic fresh baked bread and a really nice menu. I’ve been here 15+ times and have always had a wonderful dining experience. The only thing that I could see people say is that it isn’t cheap… but it’s a great value. If you are looking for cheap, go to sizzlers down the street and don’t knock a great local spot on Unilocal

The service was so bad and the management so dis concerned and discourteous regarding our complaint, that we left no tip. I can assure you that our group eats in excellent restaurants to know the difference between poor food and service and that which is acceptable. I would suggest trying the Romanno Italian restaurant just down the street.

I had a couple bad experienced several years ago, but did not want that to doom a restaurant. I know people who say this is the favorite place to eat in Redlands. My wife was out of town and I wanted a nice meal, table service and stopped by. Wine selection was good, not cheap but good glass selections. Food was upscale, and quality was pretty good. Not outstanding, but the service much improved and food good enough to return. Its pretty so I will update the review with photos and more detailed food review.
