Sadly, we did like it but it closed. It’s now Ragin’ Cagun. :(

This restaurant is now closed. They sold to someone. We had reservations on May 15th. They were nice enough to call us that they closed the restaurant, sold to someone. Did not know when they would/might reopen. Sad we loved this restaurant.

Of all the Thai restaurants on Pacific Coast Highway in the South Bay, and there are a lot of them, this is my favorite. It is a full sit-down restaurant with a very nice atmosphere and décor. They also have a full bar and a lot of suggested drink variations on their cocktail menu. This is great, especially for the women. The food here is very good. It is traditional Thai and has a very nice presentation. I’ve noticed that some people in their reviews mention that you don’t get rice with your order. This is true, unless you order one of their combinations. This is something that is very common in many Thai restaurants. But, ordering rice on the side is easy and I suggest that you do it as it makes your meal more complete. Plus, they have both white and brown rice at Chaba. Go for the brown, much healthier and more tasty. Though this restaurant is not perfect, as few restaurants are, it is very good and a great place to eat. Recommended!

Moving/Closing soon Big sign on the front window that the place will soon be the location of a Cajun restaurant, so this review maybe moot. Started with wonton soup. Not impressed. The shrimp wontons smelled like they used old shrimp. The vegetable was a cabbage. Prefer Thai Dishes. Appetizer, had a plate of 4 different items. Enjoyed all. Drunken Noodles. Good, not great. The basil should stand out and be fresh. Here they cooked it until it was black and flavorless. Curry Chicken. Good, fairly similar to other Thai restaurants I have tried. Coconut Ice Cream. My daughter enjoyed this quite a bit. She’ll probably want to come back just for that. Service was good, but there was only 2 tables occupied. Overall, not worth the solid 4 star rating. 3+ would be about right.

Great food… love the fact that it’s not overly oily, fresh veggies in the dishes, and the chicken is white meat. Lunch time is real quiet… no more than 2 – 3 tables occupied.

Foot is pretty good. I wouldn’t say it’s the best Thai food I’ve had! It could also get a little pricey. I usually get the pad Thai. Be careful with the spice scale or you won’t be able to eat your meal!

mmmm… i can say that chaba has one of the most delicious thai noodles i’ve tasted in the south bay! you can tell that it’s hand made not like other restaurants where it’s frozen. it almost reminded me of the noodles back in thailand. you can definetly taste the freshness in every bite. when you walk in, the ambiance is very spacious and modern. i like the touch of the thai décor all around the room. the restaurant is kept clean and there’s a huge bar inside too! i came in during lunch time around 12pm. note that this place closes in the middle of the day. opens 11:30am– 2:30pm and they open up again at 5pm– 9pm. i ordered the drunken noodles($ 11) off the lunch menu and it was so HUGE! it’s enough to share with 2 people. I’m glad i got the order because i loved the hint of basil to it. the spice was on the medium side but im glad we had a spice tray on our table. i loved the little thai peppers and thai chili that i added on my dish. the noodles were so soft and delicious. overall this place is perfect to dine in if you ever find yourself in redondo beach. a big plus to this place because they have a HUGE parking lot in the front of the restaurant. that’s very rare especially eating by the beach. the food here is on point and very authentic. service was very fast and the servers here are attentive. can’t wait to come back to try the chili and onion plate!

This so called Thai place is worse than a Thai place I have eaten at Santa Fe, NM(aka in the middle of nowhere). Yea… That bad. If you think Panda Express is good? Or if you think McD is good? This place is worse than any fast food restaurant. Not sure where does the 4 stars avg come from!

Oh my goodness! I love this restaurant! Gone are the days of thinking Thai BBQ restaurant is the only Thai restaurant that exists! The only other Thai restaurant I also love is in LA and that’s too far for me to drive whenever I crave Thai food. I stumbled upon this restaurant while I was looking for a restaurant to eat for Mother’s Day. I only remembered to book a restaurant a week before, so I figured I needed to choose local restaurants to still get reservations. Thank goodness they had reservations left! The staff is friendly and very attentive. The food is awesome, especially their specialties and curries! There’s also live entertainment sometimes, so make sure to check this place out.

Can we say delish. Got the lamb panang and chicken fried rice. The lamb curry was buttery and tender def. Melt in your mouth kind of dish. Lunch special 11:30 — 2:30pm. The staff was nice and the service was fast. They open for lunch while they are preparing for dinner so its really slow during those houra., which we liked in and out.

We had dinner here tonight and it was great. We have driven by many times and the restaurant was packed but when we went tonight(Saturday) we were seated right away. The atmosphere was very comfortable and we could easily talk to the people at our table without needing to raise our voices. The service was great. Our server was very attentive to our needs without hovering. They had lots of specials and he answered our questions. We all really(3 adults and 1 child) really liked our food and shared our dishes. We ordered vegetable panang curry, pad Thai, chicken satay, and Kung pao chicken(one of the specials for the night). My son loved the satay chicken and ended up eating most of it. The vegetable panang was delicious! It was the perfect amount of spicy and I would definitely order again. The pad Thai was great and there weren’t any leftovers by the end of the meal. There wasn’t anything wrong with the Kung pao chicken but also nothing super special — would try something else next time. We had planed on getting mango sticky rice for dessert but were so full from the large portions we will hen to save it for next time. It is a bit more expensive than other Thai places in the area, but you get plenty of food and the atmosphere is very comfortable. We definitely plan returning.

Nice interior job, Jobs well done! This is my second time visiting this restaurant. The food we are ordering is improving. Vive is good and there’s live music. Wanted to I did not like is the volume was too loud. We enjoyed curry rice with the beef and all the dishes. I would gave a five stars for the interior job but I would give 3 stars for the food. that’s why I gave 3 stars overall. It’s great for couples who would love to have a romantic dinner.

Whaaa! I really wanted to like this place but it was just OK. My BF& I shared the coconut shrimp which was tasty but not enough sauce, and the broccoli with peanut sauce, with chicken and shrimp. Besides the fact that it came out room temp we were lucky to find 3 shrimp(good thing we had the app) the peanut sauce was good but for some reason served on the side instead of tossed. Service was slow, maybe because we came in late… had to repeat asking for saki, some extra sauce for our shrimp or water and extra cups for our saki as they didn’t bring out enough.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while now. Got a Living Social deal, $ 5 for $ 10, for online takeout. The Service — So, they said it would be ready at 12:35pm. I got there at 12:25pm and it was ready. I was in and out in 30 seconds. The Food — I got the Chicken Pad Thai. It was pretty good. One of the better ones I’ve had. The flavor was good. They gave me this sweet and spicy chili sauce on the side. It had a good taste, but it wasn’t spicy enough. Good thing I had sriracha packets in my desk drawer =). The Prices — It was $ 11 for the pad thai. A little on the pricier side for Thai. It was okay. I miiiight come back, but I will definitely be on the lookout for better Thai in the South Bay. Any suggestions?

Tasty Thai food, but I hate to say it… there are better places around town. The best part about this place though is the fact that they have specialty cocktails, something that most Thai places don’t seem to have. I had a refreshing concoction with a piece of lychee in it along with the Crying Tiger salad. The beef was delicious and tender but the salad was definitely over-dressed. I would highgly recommend this place if you are looking for a more up-scale Thai restaurant. The décor is nice and it has a fairly romantic ambiance, good place for a date. Service was a little slow, but everything else was A-OK!

We hadn’t been to Chaba in two years mostly because we had been disappointed in the past. However, we decided to give it a try again and WOW! it was great. Service was great and they were quick to seat us. The waiter gave us samples of complimentary sake to try and the tastings were good. We had a curry that was wonderfully flavorful and it came with a small salad and a huge helping of rice. The curry had plenty of meat and veggies and it was very tasty. The duck was cooked perfectly with crispy skin and moist meat. We also had a crab stuffed salmon that had plenty of veggies and rice as well. The salmon was wonderfully seasoned. We also had the coconut sticky rice and fresh mango for dessert and it was a wonderful way to conclude a wonderful meal. The waiter was very helpful and made sure our water glasses were always full. I definitely would go back!

We have been to Chaba Thai Bay Grill several times as our offices are located in Redondo. Last night we held an event for 60 people at Chaba and could not have been happier with the results. Ken, his children, and the staff are all wonderful. They really understand hospitality and went out of their way to ensure a smooth evening. Our guests felt welcomed, attended to and accommodated. Not only was the menu affordable but the food and service were of the highest quality. The menu at Chaba is fantastic. As we said to several of our event attendees ‘If you are hesitant at ALL about trying new things then Chaba is the place to do so as the food is fantastic’. The Yellow Chicken Curry is really a standout dish. Depth of flavor, savory and filling. You will leave Chaba craving another bowl. The Mixed Vegetables On Fire is a delicious option for vegetarians Also, I think we want to pour the sesame dressing or the Chaba sweet and sour sauce on everything we will ever eat in the future. We will DEFINITELY return here for future events as well as lunches and dinners to explore the rest of the menu. Thank you again Ken!

It all started with a craving for noodles. Chaba is walking distance from my home, can’t believe i’ve never been there before last night. I remembered some lukewarm reviews of the place but figured I’d find out for myself. The dining room is attractive and the service was perfectly gracious. My food came to me in a flash, it was amazing. And I was hungry. Chaba has a full bar but I’d rather spend my money on eats & have my drinks at home, lol. The Holidays traditionally gift me with acid reflux, and this year’s no exception. I started my Nexium prescription yesterday, and wanted to test it out on a Thai dinner, haha… I didn’t order anything spicy though, I got the Pad Woon Sen($ 11). I love those clear glass noodles. Along with the black mushrooms(tender) and touch of egg, I added pork and veggies. Well. There was so much good stuff in the noodles, I could have added extra noodles. The pork was melt-in-your-mouth, unlike bits of thin-sliced pork I’ve experienced elsewhere that were tough as shoe leather. The assortment of veggies was delicious, and the onions packed a wallop. The Nexium duked it out with those powerful onions & won the battle! I was left with bad breath but tranquility in my throat. I found nothing at all not to like about Chaba, from décor to service to flavorful food. Well maybe it was a bit pricey, however I don’t mind paying top dollar for top quality. I see lots of selections on the menu I’d like to try, so Chaba will see me again soon. Now I am headed to the fridge to check out those leftovers… Onions for brekkie? Why the hell not…
