I recently tried this restaurant for the first time. The ambiance is nice, food is great and service is fantastic. My dish was the chicken fajitas and it was served super hot(nice!) and very tasty. My server, Jill, was outstanding and always checked on me to ask if needing anything and how was the food? It’s great to have this level of service and she was so nice. She asked if I wanted a hotter salsa and brought me this great chili salsa that was really good and really hot. =)(Loved it) I can see why this place has such great Unilocal reviews. The food & service rock! A must try!

I’m the first to admit that I went here thinking it was going to be underwhelming… any restaurant with«cantina» in the name usually makes incredibly bland Mexican food for white people. I’m happy to report that I was wrong about Coyote Cantina! The margaritas are fantastic here, and that fire roasted sweet corn ravioli is absolutely incredible. Quite a pleasant surprise.

I have always loved coyote cantina but I feel like things have changed. We went tonight for happy hour as it was advertised on a sign outside that theirs was the best. We had a chicken quesadilla it was standard cheddar and jack with chicken. Not good but not bad. The carnitas taco was watery and made the tortilla soggy. Again the flavor of this was not bad but not good. We also ordered the queso dip on happy hour and it was like velveeta cheese with salsa again not very good. The redeeming quality was the margarita on happy hour. We also ordered crab and lobster enchiladas and a strawberry margarita off of happy hour. The strawberry margarita was great and the enchiladas were okay. I have loved their carne asada in the past and may have to return to try that. On a positive note the service was excellent, we were checked on frequently and our finished plates were removed quickly.

Coyote Cantina serves potent margaritas. It has a local flavor. The bartender was friendly.

This place is awesome! The food is amazing! Tried a few different things and the flavor of every dish was off the chain!

I’d been here before, lured in by my friends. This restaurant was always out of range from my radar due to the fact that it’s tucked into a mini mall. From the moment I walked in, my opinion changed. They have a fun décor with an artist featured throughout in sculpture and prints. The decorations are rustic but warm. The Tequila list — have a shot of each and wind up on the plaque on the wall — makes it a fun place to return to regularly. I’ve yet to try that though. I can’t remember what I had that first time, but the most recent trip — due to a BOGO from our Axxess card — I ordered the salmon salad and it is my new favorite salad in town. No lie — in all of Redondo, Hermosa, and Manhattan Beaches(and even a few surrounding areas). The salmon was so juicy and flaky and seasoned in a mouthwatering way. A teensy bit salt but with the right amount of smoke and spicy accents. The salad is HUGE and had so many other wonderful flavors and textures. I can’t wait to go back! My growing son who is all about MEAT absolutely loved the Carne Asada plate. He is all about experiencing steak in any form and ate the whole thing. He loved the vibe of the Cantina as well and enjoyed this spot for a night out with mom. We can’t wait to return with his sister!

This is our go to place on a weeknight for dinner. It’s always delicious. ½ tostada with carne asada and cheese enchilada rice and beans are amazing. Don’t forget to order a margarita. Love how they are nice and strong. Waitresses are all great and always know our order.

Checked this place out with my family on a Thursday night after my daughter’s gymnastics class. Had no desire to cook, lol. Very cute set up with nice booths as well. The bathroom was very clean and well-stocked. They brought us a big plate of chips and salsa — which we proceeded to hide from the kids. They brought coloring books and crayons — but reusable kind so it’s not wasted. i know some people are germaphobes and don’t want their kids to touch what other kids used but I think it’s better that way. We ordered the large plate of nachos with chicken for my husband and I to share. It tasted great and the cheese was melty and perfect. For the kids we got them the bean and cheese burrito from the kids menu and had it split. The waitress told us it was very large. The kids loved the burrito and shared some of our nachos too. Next time I will try something else for sure, we weren’t too hungry when we came here and were just trying to feed the kids before bed. The other customers foods looked really good and tasty. And everyone in the restaurant was super friendly.

We love Coyote Cantina especially their roasted corn ravioli and their amazing silver lightning margaritas. Come on Tuesdays for taco Tuesday and you won’t be disappointed. Their lobster ravioli is to die for too. I could go on and on because I also love their house salad with roasted vegetables. They have great friendly service too.

After reading other reviews perhaps it should be clarified that Coyote Cantina serves Southwestern cuisine, not Mexican. I’ve been patronizing the Cantina for more than 10 years, and my wife and I visit at least once a week. That is a testament to how good it is. Even better are the Silver Lightning Margaritas, expertly poured by Kristina, the South Bay’s best bartender. They are strong and big(served in pint glasses) and not for the feint of heart. When combined with the staff’s warm and friendly demeanor, the bar at Coyote has become Redondo’s version of «Cheers,» a place where everybody knows your name.

I love Coyote !!! It’s one of our top 5 restaurants we frequent. It’s not authentic Mexican(I don’t think they claim to be either) but the food is still good. There’s no denying that. We’ve been coming here for many years and will continue to. I usually get enchiladas here but I’ve tried their fish tacos, chicken soup, taquitos, salads, um half of the menu… All good. It’s family friendly and usually always busy. I will warn not to get their carne asada tacos. They are not like the LA tacos you are use to. They put lettuce and tomatoes on them and the meat is stewy. Their fajitas are seasoned well but are overcooked. Maybe see if they can cook them medium rare. Anyway, we love the vibe here. Very welcoming. It’s our home away from home. Try their silver lightening margarita!

Hmmmm. Someone wrote«best Mexican food in all of California…» I grew up in Southern California and my job takes all over the country. I’d say save yourself the $ 15 and head for Alberto’s. It’s good but the chips are stale and store bought, tortillas are stir bought, and I’m pretty sure the sauces are canned or at least begin that way. Lettuce was wilted and this is a first, the guacamole was a combinations of canned green stuff with real chunks of avocado mixed in. The rice was a bit stiff on the top layer, suggesting it had been prepare plated and under a lamp for a while. Look, don’t mean to sound harsh but given the ratings and comments my expectations were high. It’s a «good» place with a solid variety. But don’t tell people it’s the best in California. There’s a place in Washington State that makes its own tortillas and chips. Only base ingredients are store bought and everything is made onsite or in mamas kitchen at home I presume. Oh, the plates there are $ 10 and not $ 15.

Okay… So I will tell you I’m still not impressed with the salsa– it’s watery, mild and doesn’t add much. I would love it as a salad dressing but as a salsa. Ehhh But let’s put the salsa aside and move onto the reason I gave this joint a 4 star review! The Diver Scallops. blackened and pan seared with chipotle mashed potatoes and grilled seasonal veggies with the most amazing Mexican red chili sauce you’ve ever tasted in your life! Fun atmosphere, huge tequila selection, & friendly staff members That alone will have myself & my boyfriend coming back for more Must order! Must try!

No no no. This isn’t an authentic Mexican joint at all. Sorry to all those that think it is. Not sure why it has this many stars nor why it’s rated Best of the Bay by Easy Reader but it’s just not that great. Skip out on this place. The tacos have no flavoring, or umph to it. Just some tortilla wrapped meat with Cowboy shaped funky-tasting sauces. This sadly reminds me of Taco Bell.(Very Tex-Mex). No gracias!

Good Mexican food in Redondo! Finally. I ordered crab and lobster enchiladas that were tasty. Mango margarita not too shabby. Fun atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Server forgot my calamari but I am glad because our dinners where enough! A good looking kids menu too.

So many choices in the South Bay for Mexican food, so little time. After some recommendations to go here my wife and I stopped in. 1. Place was super busy but did get seated quickly 2. Service was good, not great but good 3. The food. It just completely missed the mark for both of us. There was nothing that stood out for me to make this a place to come back to. The tacos I had were not very flavorful and my wife carnitas was the same. For me there are a lot better choices for the same or less money

My husband and I went last week to TACOTUESDAY and boy was it delicious. Jill was our server and she did an excellent job catering to our needs. The drinks were good and strong and the vibe was laid back. We would definitely go back! The only think I didn’t like was the house salsa that came with the chips… NOBUENO!!!

Cold Coronas and good Margaritas! Monday is happy hour all night on specific items. Cheap tacos for like $ 2. Friendly service always! Today we had the Mexican Lasagna which was great. I had the half order and was pleasantly surprised because Im not a huge turkey fan but the cheese makes up for it. Wife had the roasted corn raviolis which are killer! Overall a nice time at CC.

Service is friendly and prompt but the meal leaves a little to be desired. No frills here and it is missed. Casual quasi-TexMex lacking freshness. Margaritas did not impress.

DISCLAIMER: This review is just for their taco Tuesday. My hubby and I recently moved here and we’ve been exploring Taco Tuesday options. I have to say this taco Tuesday option is a no-go for us in the future. The chips and salsa were nice, but the tacos were weak. They were tiny, and they came out with only a cilantro topping. The tacos were only $ 1, so you can’t complain much. The tacos tasted alright, but nothing great. The meats were well-seasoned, but again, nothing special. Their margarita was not hot and it is not included in the taco Tuesday either… meh. For my money, I’d rather pay a little more to hit up Ortega 120, down the street. Margaritas are dope and included in the taco Tuesday, and the tacos are much bigger, and they come with more toppings. Some other people in the restaurant were eating other things that looked pretty good, so we will try those another time. Coyote Cantina has great reviews, so I am assuming it’s for their other menu items. We may come back and give some of those other options a try so I can update this review.
