Haven’e been here for years, but have fond memories of the grinders. Walk-up service. Near the boardwalk. Grinders are DABOMB. Would definitely return and recommend.

With the word in town being that Louie’s is the place for pizza, we decided to give it a try. I was disappointed… the slices are small, and the crust tastes more like Pizza Hut.

Born and raised on the ‘old Grotto’s’ pizzas but have to walk away to get a Louie’s… Wow — plain is good enough for me!

Yo, skip Grotto’s and come here instead! How this place has only 3.5 stars is beyond me because I would happily reach my goal of being 500 lbs just from their pizzas. This is among one of my few must-visit/binge spots for annual trips to Rehoboth. The stringy cheese, the crispy bottom of the pizza, and mushroom-covered slices are amazing! It’s even better when you actually order a whole pie with add sausage, onions, and green peppers. Sprinkle on some garlic powder and hot peppers for an even more intense mouthgasm. Dinky holes-in-the-wall with at times stinky cashiers tend to be where it’s at and that holds especially true for this place. Tables are hard to come by during peak season but you can easily order from the to-go counter to bring it back to the beach where you may have to fend off a seagull or two. Sharing is caring right?(Jk, don’t feed the seagulls)

I went in with my family to get 3 slices of pizza in the rain. I figured this would be great pizza much better than Grotto’s. We wanted to eat our pizza inside at the tables and we were told we had to sit on the bench outside when there were no customers in the whole restaurant. The owner was obnoxious and basically told us to go outside. I would not recommend this place for anyone with kids for the owner is a big jerk

Unfriendly. Gave my family a hard time about eating our to go slices inside. My kids were starving and cold because it had just rained. Mother’s day Weekend and they told us to go outside. Thanks for your hospitality. There were 2 kids eating at a table but other than that it was dead. Also, the pizza, guys, tasted as if the sauce was dumped out of a generic can and the cheese was just eche. I feel so sorry for people who gave this place more than 3 stars: you don’t know quality pizza if you eat this crap! There pizza oven was also pathetic. Keep walking visitors/tourists… I would rather give Grotto the money and they are totally family friendly and wouldn’t ask me to leave with my family.

My daughter took me to Louie’s years ago and I am addicted to the Italian Grinder. Parking is very difficult but, it is located just steps away from the beach. Although the price seems to increase ever summer, I continue to enjoy the great surroundings and overpriced pizza.

Still a consistent 3. Had a slice, gyro and an Italian grinder. Bf loved the pizza and the grinder. Odd they sub and gyro both came with no lettuce and the grinder had green peppers on it? But the gyro was full of meat and sauce which is more then i can say about a lot of gyros joints in Rehoboth. Last place gave me no sauce at all? wt? Shame on them!

I believe this pizza place is over rated. We called in our order and when we picked it up it was super soggy. It was really greasy and I wouldn’t go back there again.

Horrible service. Terrific pizza. (No need for extra cheese.)

The food is good but the portions have been dwindling over the years — for example, the size of the individual pizza slices, and the amount of cheese in the cheese fries. I’ve never had an issue with any server but the female cashier(the one who looks like Buddy Hackett) up front is absolutely rude to everybody and really needs to be stuck back in the kitchen where she used to work]. I don’t even like going up to the window anymore because of her so I just eat in the dining area.

An all time favorite for our family. Can’t take a trip to Rehoboth without stopping in for some subs and grinders. My favorite is the chicken cheese steak with sweet peppers. So delicious. Kids love the fries, meatball subs and the birch beer! A definite must try!

The pizza is really greasy and flimsy, I would never eat it again. We also got fries, which were okay. I would 100% recommend going to Grottos for pizza instead.

Louie’s Pizza is pitching a perfect game in my life. As an(almost) 30 year old man who has been visiting Rehoboth with at least semi-regularity since my birth, I can honestly say that I have eaten a minimum of one slice of Louie’s pepperoni every single day that I have ever spent in Rehoboth, at least as far back as I can remember. Thanks Dad, seriously. Louie’s rebaked pizza by the slice is a vacation staple that has bled into the ether of my life, and cemented itself as one of my favorite dishes of all time. While I have heard they feature an array of solid american-italian favorites, I can incredibly say that in my three decades of patronage, I have only ever ordered pizza-by-the-slice. My visits to the Delaware coast have become less frequent in the last decade, but my love for this place has compounded, and established itself as a go-to for the rest of my life. On my list of establishments that I hope and pray to outlive me, Louie’s is solidly in the top 3.

Planned on trying Grotto’s because I was told it was great but ultimately decided on Louie’s. It was a great decision. The pizza was delicious. My 9 year old had three pieces and the pieces aren’t small. Needless to say he was in a «pizza coma». There were 5 of us, two female adults and three children. We got the 16″ pizza and a sub(grinder). Without the sub it wouldn’t have been enough for us. The sub wasn’t that great. It was in the oven long enough for the cheese to melt and that’s it. There was no Italian dressing on it even though it was an Italian sub. Even though the sub wasn’t that good we still ate it because we were hungry and didn’t want to wait for another pizza. The service was great and friendly. I’m sure we’ll be back next year for vacation but only for two pies

The best pizza on the boardwalk. The place has the same dumpy feel it’s had for years. I noticed that they take credit cards now… finally! The staff and waiter still treat customers with attitude, but that part of the charm? of Louie’s.

I was so excited to try this place after all the good reviews. When I throw away pizza, it’s BAD. The cashier was surly, the pizza was greasy and tasteless. I’d say there are better pizza places but not by much.

Great thin crust pizza with lots of crispy pepperoni. One of my favorite pizzas ever. Perfect, gooey, well seasoned cheesesteaks. The place hasn’t changed since I was a kid, but that just adds to the charm.

The boy and I walked into Louie’s looking for pizza(their signature namesake) but left finding true love in the most delicious cheese steak to have ever hit my lips. Days later we are still talking about it! In the past, I have judged cheesesteaks on the following parameters so I will do the following: + Brown Bag Test — Has the sandwich turned the paper bag clear? If so, there is a delicious treat waiting inside. + Steak to Bread Ratio — There should be an adequate amount of steak covering the roll. + The Holy Trio — Mushrooms, Sweet Peppers, and Sauteed Onions + Cheese — American Cheese, Provolone, or Cheese Wiz + Steak — The steak should be cooked on a griddle with grease and chopped + Juice — Juice should flow down from the cheesesteak + Sides — French fries, always french fries Based on all of these, I would say Louie’s was a resounding win!* There was so much juicy steak rubbing all up into the crevices of that bun and they even have cheese fries as a side! The cheese fries come in a huge container and they layer the fries so you get a little bit of cheddar in every bite. This is not a place to work on your beach body, but if you split a sandwich and limit your fry intake you should be pretty good.** *We ate in so the brown bag test was unable to be completed at press time. **Eff it. Eat the entire freaking sandwich. Treat yo’self!

Good pizza close to the boardwalk. It’s also a little cheaper than Nicola, but if you go to Nicola for the Nic-o-boli, you go to Louie’s for their cheesesteaks. I split a 12″ pizza steak with tomatoes and onions, which was pretty good. They have a variety of other toppings as well. I also got a medium fries from Thrasher’s, although there fries looked up to snuff. Having had both, I would have preferred a Nic-o-boli, not to mention being able to sit down, seeing as Louie’s has some space, but every table was taken, whereas Louie’s has 2 restaurants and tons of space. Nicola has a little more variety, with pasta and appetizers. I’m not sure who’s pizza is better, only having had Louie’s, but both looked good, with Louie’s being cheaper. If you’re by the boardwalk, or you’re from Philly and are in the mood for a cheesesteak, go to Louie’s. If you’re bringing a crowd and want a few more options, go to Nicola.
