Found this great restaurant on Unilocal. So glad we did. The food was outstanding! I had the special seared snapper with polenta cake and roasted vegetables. Incredible favors. Had the bread pudding special although I should have skipped it. Amazing. Warmed with white chocolate and ice cream! Would definitely come back when we are in Rehoboth again. Location in a strip mall may have negatively impacted our decision to stop here but luckily it did not. The atmosphere was casual and yet upscale. We got a table quickly after calling ahead just 10 minutes prior to our arrival.

This place was amazing! I had been told about Michy’s for over a year now from friends and family, so I had high expectations. But believe me they met every single one! From the cocktails to the dessert, everything was amazing! For four people the price was great, we all has drinks, appetizers, amazing entrees, and spilt a dessert! I cant say enough about this place and cannot wait to come back

Who would have thought nestled between a Food Lion and GNC in a shopping center on Route 1 en route to Rehoboth Beach would lie a really outstanding restaurant! We had dinner at Michy’s with friends based on our local friend’s recommendation and it was fabulous. This is an eclectic place with an eclectic but not exotic menu that really produces great food. I had the Forever Braised Short Ribs which were terrific. Not only was the meat tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicious but also the vegetables were perfectly prepared and complemented the ribs amazingly(I usually avoid this overworked word, but here it is the only way to describe the effect!). My wife and one of our friends had a menu special halibut dish which was great as well(I tasted some). Our other friend had the horseradish crusted salmon which I didn’t taste but based on our friend’s review was excellent as well. A friendly and professional server made this a really good experience. I highly recommend!

Great restaurant located in a strip mall at the beach. The firecracker shrimp is delicious. The fried calamari is the best I’ve tasted. The service is outstanding. The food is top notch. We arrive at 4 when they open and it was empty. People started coming in and if they didn’t have reservations they were referred to the bar area that has happy hour from 4 to 6. The bar area also has a special price menu and the full menu. My waitress was very attentive along with the other staff. The food came out quick, delicious and hot. My son and daughter attend dinner with me and they raved about the food. I can’t wait to come back but i will make reservations.

We must have gone to the wrong place! We were excited to try this restaurant since we had heard and read good things about it. We started with the soup which was«to die for.» We just knew we were in for a great meal. Not to be. I had the horseradish encrusted salmon that was mushy with dabs of horseradish here and there, not spread evenly over the fish and that changed the taste each bite. The fish was terrible. My wife got the crab cakes that had a fishy taste and were not good at all. The server was fine, but that certainly can’t make up for the truly bad food we were served. I don’t think I can go back… that fish was just so bad.

The real test of a restaurant is a crowded Saturday night. If the service is good and the food delicious, you know it’s a winner. I had the scallops over risotto — beautifully plated, served hot, and perfectly cooked. Susan had the beet salad(great portion and delicious dressing) and salmon. She said it was excellent. We also had crab cakes, chicken, and shrimp and grits. The table reported everything A-OK. It’s a relaxed, informal yet upscale place. A bit pricey, but good sized portions and food worthy of respect. The service is just fine. There’s room between tables and we could actually hear the music. We will be coming back.

We tried Michy’s for a late lunch or early dinner around 430pm. We had tried a few months earlier, but at 630pm, it was totally packed. So, if you plan to go, we recommend a reservation. We started with the calamari which was tasty, but just a tad too much dressing. Also, it was a bit lukewarm. Regardless, we enjoyed it as it was tasty and we were able to dig in right away. The Forever Braised Short Rib was a very hearty meal, and too heavy for my wife. It was very tasty, but bring a big appetite for this dish. The salmon dish was very good, with the salmon cooked to my requested medium-rare — a typically difficult challenge for restaurants. The rice and the miso wine sauce was great. The bok choy was a bit too tough though. All in all the food was fine and just what we needed. Our waitress, Kristan, was very attentive and efficient. The overall feel of the restaurant was very family-like which was very nice. We plan to be back and to talk up the restaurant with friends and family. Good job to Mishy’s owners and employees!

Have been a few times mostly for HH and once for dinner. I like sitting at the bar with Brandy and the guys. The happy hour specials include drinks now and there are some nice martinis. I love the sirloin burger, firecracker shrimp, the crab cake on salad is very good. The calamari is just ok. The sauce is too heavy. I sat next to Leslie another patron on Friday and she had it with the two sauces on the side. Excellent idea if I have it again. The salad with goat cheese was really fresh and delicious. Nice restaurant and good food and staff.

We were looking to try an new restaurant in the off season. Since this place had shrimp and grits on the menu. It was worth a shot. Best shrimp and grits ever! It was crowded so we took the window seats in the bar by the fireplace. Can I say cozy? Seems like a local hangout, but even with being new part timers to the area. We felt very comfortable! The wedge salad that my husband and I split was delicious. He had the braised short ribs that tasted like they were roasting in a slow cooker all day. Yumm! So glad we got out of our comfort zone and tried this place!

Stopped in here with three others(two of whom are regulars.) It was my first time. As others have said, it doesn’t look like much from the outside, but looks are deceiving. We had the firecracker shrimp and the fried calamari for appetizers, and both were very good. I followed that up with the filet mingon, which was by far the most tender and flavorful filet I have ever had, and it was cooked exactly to my request(medium). The crème brûlée afterwards was likewise very good, with no complaints. The service was top notch, and the staff was friendly, courteous, and they knew their food. The only minor ding I would have is the emphasis on turning over the tables. We felt like we were a little bit rushed, but only a little bit. No major issue. Overall, we’re looking forward to a return trip.

Wow, what a find. New place to be. Food was excellent and service was the best. Sat at the bar and had dinner. Great selection of unique bourbons, and specialty drinks. Highly recommend. Not a diner in a strip mall! It’s the real deal.

Michy’s is diamond located in a really crummy-looking shopping center, but don’t judge a book by its cover. This restaurant is amazing and always packed! You must call call ahead for reservations, since they only have 15 tables. The bar is first come first serve and is also always packed! The service here is 5-star, they have excellent customer service. Everything we’ve had here from appetizers, entrees, drinks, and desserts is amazing! Food is cooked fresh. The drinks are interesting and unique. We had the Michy’s Margarita, Mojito, and a special Watermelon Habanero Margarita — shew, it had a kick to it! This restaurant is more on the pricey end, but you definitely get what you pay for, fresh well-cooked meals with wonderful ingredients, they are also pretty generous portions. For appetizers I LOVE the Fire Cracker Shrimp! Had a crispy tempura batter covered in Sriracha mayo w/scallions + crushed peanuts. Delicious! I also love the Calamari Flash Fried is has a Szechuan-style and garlic chili sauce w/sesame seeds and scallions. A little tomatoey tasting, but delicious! For a salad the Iceburg Wedge was good it had creamy buttermilk and blue cheese dressing with apple wood smoked bacon, cherry tomatoes and blue cheese crumbles. MmmmMmmmm The entrees were amazing, left me stuffed! Take a look at the pictures I took. Loved the Shrimp n’ Grits, Certified Angus Beef Tenderloin, and Beef Burger. I would definitely recommend Michy’s, if you wanted to try a higher-end restaurant in the area. It’s also convenient not having to go into the town of Rehoboth Beach to find parking during the summer! I have not been here for happy hour, but will definitely be back!

Amazing from start to finish. Be sure to make reservations, we ate ate the window in the bar which was quite entertaining! From the appetizers to the main meal all was perfection. Ahi tuna the best we have had on a bed of seaweed and thinly sliced cucumber. Firecracker ship and peanuts precise mix of heat and flavor. Scallops brown and tender on a bed of risotto and peas(& I don’t like peas!) Shrimp and sausage over grits. Highly recommend more than one meal.

Michy’s is an amazing restaurant. Worth every penny that it costs. Had the beef tenderloin, and it was great. The gratin potatoes were also amazing. The braised short ribs were absolutely sublime. It is one of the best foods I’ve ever tasted. The vegetables that came with both entrees were amazing. Had the bread pudding for dessert, one of the best bread puddings I’ve ever had.

Great food & drink, relaxed atmosphere chef has found the secret to cooking fish(any kind) to perfection. Very generous portions. Outstanding firecracker shrimp for appetizer. Entrees included cioppino which I thought was great until I tasted my wife’s barramundi — fabulous. Died and went to heaven with homemade bread pudding.

Wish they were open on Sunday and Monday’s…since we are local and live here year round. Other than the fact that it’s in a strip mall with Food Lion, this place is great. Happy hour prices are great, the mixology at the bar is some of the best in town. The crab cakes are some of the best around too. Had the Tuna Sashimi for dinner and it was outstanding. There were 4 of us and everyone loved their meal. The service was super friendly, Not overbearing – just right. We will go more often now that we have discovered it.

Wow! What a meal! My tummy is smiling. This place is a total hit, from the unique drinks to the friendly service to the awesome food. We had a Cherimoya martini from Robert the stellar barkeep. So unusual and delicious. The calamari appetizer is outstanding — not chewy or over breaded but crispy outside and tender inside and a spicy sweet sauce. The beef tenderloin was heaven, cooked just right and the side veggies were not just an afterthought but had snap and crunch. My partner had Mahi Mahi with a lobster sauce that was amazing. Can’t say enough good things about this place!!!

Went for happy hour to support a different place. Not acknowledged by bartenders at all(we were 3 gay guys not flaming mind you). Group of 4 ladies come in after us & both bartenders stop what they were doing and offer them a genuine welcome and run down of specials. Not sure what that was about. Space is nice. Food looked great but did not partake, may come back to try good and hopefully find it more welcoming.

I had dubious expectations for this place, based on the divergent Unilocal reviews and the lack of a real menu listed on the website. When we arrived to the place, unassumingly nestled into a strip mall, I did’t really expect much. Thankfully, I was blown away. Once you step inside, you completely forget that you’re one door away from the food lion. The bright blue walls are perfect for a beach town, and the open-concept kitchen, fun modern artwork, and mismatched chairs feel upscale without being pretentious. It really is «relaxed» — despite being 5-star food, you don’t feel out of place in jeans or even shorts(which is completely appropriate for the shore). The food is impressive, with thoughtful combinations in the entrees. Everything sounded delicious, but I went with the grouper and was pleased — the seasoning was perfect, and the jasmine rice and mango sauce was yummy. Appetizers, including the calamari, firecracker shrimp, and clams, were all delicious as well. Almost everyone in our party ordered something different, and everyone was pretty pleased with their food. The one odd thing about this place was the service. Despite a chef’s counter that featured fresh-mixed oil and vinegar paired with bread, our waitress never brought us any, later claiming she thought we had enough food(umm, excuse me? Let the DINER make that decision). My water glass was also removed from the table well before dinner was finished, leaving me to grab my boyfriend’s instead. Definitely worth a trip for good food — just make sure you don’t get cheated out of anything!

You could almost call me a regular here now. Michele and Richard are great and they have done wonders in a space that traditionally has not done well. Food is second to none in Rehoboth and my wife and I are rapidly working our way through the menu. Staple great dishes are, the Calamari as previously mentioned in a review, excellent. The pork chop or the short rib for meat lovers, both are expertly prepared and so full of flavor and oh so tender. My wife keeps getting the scallops, cooked to perfection and very high quality product. Salads and home made soups are a great addition and plenty more on the menu to try. Wait staff and bartenders are all very friendly and the open style kitchen lets you see the kitchen hard at work preparing your food. Superb food without the traffic of downtown.
