Dinner on a Saturday night is not pleasing at all as many reviewers have stated; however, breakfast is an absolute opposite. The price for dinner with a players card is the same for weekend brunch, I highly suggest going here for breakfast vs dinner. Much more worth it for the money. There’s the omelet station and the crepes station ready for order, delicious!

Absolute GARBAGE! First of all when I come to an all you can eat seafood buffet I’m all about the crab. Started off with the grilled steak, delicious! Crab tasted a little funny, kind-of like gasoline, had my husband try it and he agreed. Well maybe we just got a bad batch. Went and got some more, and thing. I decided to ask the hostess if she had similar complaints then she sent down the food and beverage manager«Michael«who proceeded to crack crab in from on my face insisting on me to smell it! He said it smelled fine, even my waiter said it smelled like chemicals! I didn’t want my money back, just a simple«yeah that smells a Lil weird». Props to the waiter that agreed with us and brought us champagne. Yes this is how I spent my valentines day. Don’t waste your money or time, service and quality are not their intentions. Just feeding you garbage and making you pay for it!

Food was just not fresh at all. We had a party of 60 and I didn’t hear anybody say how great their meal was. My daughter got Japanese Noodles and they were tainted. She experienced severe diarrhea and vomiting which I reported to the local health department the following day. 2 others in our party ate the Japanese noodles and got mildly sick too. Sushi was not fresh. Desserts were the only highlight of the meal. Good selection and variety of desserts We will not go back.

About $ 30 per adult for dinner on Friday night. Very limited selection, each ethnic food only provided about 6 dishes which range from potsticker to 1 pasta. Prime rib was well done and the popular snow crab legs was very thin, not too meaty.

This was the buffet of my sister choice for her birthday dinner. Myself and family(party of 10 total, 4 were kids) went to eat here to celebrate her special day. When we went to pay, we let them know there would be two separate tabs but there was a total of 10 on the party. At that point, the cashier said any party larger than 8 has to pay a 15% gratuity. So that was the 1st bad impression as we felt being it is a buffet that is horendous. We told the cashier that and she said okay thats fine well still sit you together no worries. We explained of course we will still tip but 15% was a bit ridiculous since it’s not a full service restaurant. The cashier rang us up and told the hostess. We stood aside while they were setting up a table for us. About 5 mins later a gentleman(buffet manager Mike Streczyn) RUDELY came up and said you will all need to be scattered. We explained we were not told that, we are here celebrating a birthday as a family, there are children involed and we needed to all sit together. He rudely responded that’s not going to happen and that if that’s the case we could go eat some where else.(Which of course we did so we could eat as a family) Not only did he speak to us as if we were dirt he looked at us that way as well. I have been in customer service and sales management for over 15 years. I am not currently in the food industry but have been in the past. I would never treat a customer the way he treated us. I understand but don’t agree with the larger group gratuity policy however the treatment envoloved was unforgettable. We were treated with more respect from the hostess and cashier than we were from the resturant manager. I asked him who he reports to and let him know I will be going above him to report his rude demeanor and lack of customer service. He basically laughed at us and said he doesn’t know who his«boss» would be.(Indicating he didn’t really have one) Needless to say I did find out who his direct report is and will be in contact with her tomorrow. I will update after I hear back from her. I honestly am completely floored and will NEVER spend my time or money at the Harrahs casino.

If you are a Local this offers the best value for you money. They have a good selection of food, from pizza, Mexican, Asian and other stuff, they do offer prime rib, but not the highest quality of meat. Make sure you save some room for dessert: they will make you a fresh crêpe with your choice of toppings. enjoy

WHY do they call this place carvings? Doesn’t that mean they have meat to carve? They had prime rib(so they say) and polish links. No lamb, Turkey, chicken?

This buffet used to be SOGOOD! Grant you this was like at least 5+ years ago. The hubby, a friend and I had brunch buffet the Friday after Turkey day. Can you believe the cost is $ 18.99? WOAH. Luckily were locals, so if you show your players card, not ID, you have to get the card to get the discount, but its half of the cost. So now its $ 10 a person, that I can live with. Because when your inside eating the food, you feel gross, the staff serving the food are mad, if you ask the crêpe or omelet station staff to make you anything, they HATE you, literally roll their eyes and make us white folks fatty, gross ass food. YUP, I’d be bitter too! Not worth it, please don’t waste even a dollar here, too bad Harrah’s :(

I came here for the steak and seafood dinner buffet with my family on a Friday night around 6PM and there was no line. Also, locals get a discount which made this meal relatively cheap. When coming to a steak and seafood dinner, of course we head to the crab and prime rib sections first. The snow crab legs were pretty good for the price we paid(definitely just average in comparison to others I’ve had) and I filled up on this. The prime rib was okay — it’s not something I grabbed seconds on. There were other selections such as Asian, American and Mexican cuisines, salads, pizzas, soup, and a crêpe making section. I had a small bites here and there from these selections and everything was subpar.(2⁄5) The service was decent. Our drinks were refilled and table was cleared quickly. Maybe this was because we were by the service door but no complaints here. For parking, there is self parking in their lot downstairs. Overall, the crab was pretty good and every other selections were lacking, so I would only come back on the seafood buffet days. I do enjoy everything else more at the Atlantis buffet but don’t expect Reno buffets to be Vegas quality.

«One of the Best Buffet Meals Ever ! « My wife and I visited the Carvings Buffet in Harrah’s Casino, in Reno Nevada last week and were pleasantly Surprised. The huge variety of food was amazing, and all of it was so delicious! The Veal Parmigiana was so tender and all of the Salad Bar items were fresh and tasty. The Chinese food was delicious. The Prime Rib was tender and tasty, and the Deserts were very good. We would definitely go back to the Carvings Buffet on our next trip to Harrah’s Casino in Reno.

YEAH. I had a very dumb day and waited awhile to get into this buffet, I had already done the El Dorado plus cautiously awaited looking into both THESANDS as well as the Flavorful FLAVORS buffet located in an upstairs wing between the Silver Legacy and Circus Circus. and so the hours of operation run from 11 a. m until one and reopen at four for five dollars more. I had just ate a lil while ago at Mels. But went for it. It was okay, it was big, and there were a lot of people there… Spanish people.

Not the biggest selection but enough. We left fat and happy. We had a 2 for 1 coupon because we stayed at the hotel. All food was fresh and good. Italian meatball soup was yummy. Also had dutch crunch rolls. Not sure what people are expecting.

Coming from a big city, I wasn’t really thrilled about the lack of choices there were at this buffet. But you have to consider the location and how not may come out to northern Nevada. My only issues with this place the fact the a good number of the entrees were cold or under seasoned at their stations. And the service wasn’t great either. Even though our waitress did show up to get our drink order, that was pretty much the last I saw of her till the end. I’d only recommend this place if you’re staying at the Harrahs(guest currently get a 2 for 1 deal so $ 20 for 2 people if you’re a total rewards member) and don’t feel like walking to a restaurant outside the hotel(it was windy and rainy and we decided to eat here instead of walking in this weather)

Carvings is one of my favorite buffets in Reno. With their current promotion, which has been running for months now, you get 50% off with a locals club card. This buffet has an excellent selection from pizza, mexican food, prime rib, soup/salad bar, and asian. Their desert selection is also very impressive with multiple types of cookies, pies, cakes, ice cream, and a made to order crêpe station! Their seating area is very large and is equipped with multiple TV screens featuring sports games, news, and keno. The parking garage is often completely full, so we try to find a parking spot in the meters on 2nd street and then enter through the 2nd street side entrance across from Doc Holiday’s/Pho777 and take the escalators up. My only complaint is that they close at 8pm on weekdays; I wish they stayed open until 9pm.

We were SO famished, which usually gives the advantage to whichever place satisfies our basic need for sustenance. Unfortunately, even with that advantage. this buffet failed to impress. You get what you pay for, and apparently $ 21 gets you a limited selection of mediocre food that’s either undercooked, overcooked, or underseasoned. The seafood was especially disappointing, although I would imagine their likely previously frozen fare to be the case what with Reno being far away from the ocean. Do they not have fish tanks? Or local markets with fresh fish right out of a tank?

I went tonight for a birthday dinner. I like the fact that they give 50% off discount to locals. My favorite part of the buffet was the Italian section. The pizza was pretty good, they had an awesome pizza oven. Breadsticks were dry but I liked the pasta with a choice sauce(marinara or Alfredo.) I also really liked the cream cheese wontons. My favorite thing however was the mini cups of crème brule, they were awesome! The caramelized sugar on top was perfect and the custard satisfied my sweet tooth well! My in laws loved the custom crepes, but I was too full to try them. My nephew turned nine and the servers came and brought him a special cupcake and sang to him, and we didn’t even have to ask them to do that, which I thought was very sweet of them. However, only liking three things out of a hundred selections isn’t my idea of a good buffet, even if I’m super picky. While the food was edible, I wouldn’t waste my money again.

Ok, we had champagne brunch here last week, do not be fooled people!!! For the typical $ 20 price in Reno for a Sunday brunch it’s all you can drink, not here. You are limited to two glasses of Cooks but they don’t mention that anywhere, until of course you’re seated and let them know you’re here for the champagne. Next comes the food. The best part of this buffet was the chow mien, how disappointing is that? Our friends were equally disappointed about the fact they start switching out breakfast to lunch options at 11. Like other reviewer’s experiences our plates were not cleared and even if I had wanted to purchase additional glasses of champagne, for $ 4 each, I couldn’t because the staff never came back. It got the second star strictly because there was some edible food and I did get some champagne. I get it’s buffet food, but come on. Everything doesn’t have to be completely over cooked, bland, or battered. But if it’s going to be, maybe you should mask it with more champagne, just sayin.

Food was ok but service sucked. There are a few stations where you need someone to help you and they just keep you waiting. The person at the carving station doesn’t seem like they want to be there. As for service. We had to ask for everything. Nothing was automatic. We had to ask for soda refills and plates to be removed from our table. We went to the buffet at the Atlantis(Toucan Charlie’s Buffet) the next day and it was SO much better. Go there if you want a buffet. If you still decide to come, they have buy one get one coupons at the front desk. They gave us one when we checked in, that’s what made us go. Make sure to bring your total rewards player card for a discount and you can also use your comps here. Drinks(non-alcoholic) is included.

I ate here last week on Friday for dinner. I know that Reno buffets weren’t going to be elaborate like Las Vegas buffets. However I still believe the quality of the food should still exists. As in most buffets I went to the meat station to get prime rib. I request if the ribs of the prime rib were available. The cook said they weren’t available. That already put a damper on my mood. Lately when I go to buffets I ask for ribs of the prime rib. They not only have the most flavor, but also I can determine the quality of the prime rib. The prime rib at this buffet was ok. I didn’t eat a lot of at this buffet. A few items stood out that pretty delicious like sushi and butter pasta with Alfredo sauce. The one item I truly liked was the rhubarb pie for dessert. I love rhubarb and if I can have an opportunity to get some rhubarb pie I’ll grab it because rhubarb pies at buffets are rare. As a Total Rewards Member I was able to comp for a discount. The last time I got comp for a buffet as a Total Rewards Member was at the Le Village Buffet inside the Paris Las Vegas Casino and Hotel last March. I only paid about $ 7 at that buffet whereas at this buffet, even with a $ 10 comp discount, I paid around $ 29.(I did a 2 oz. Coors beer for $ 5.) Comparing these two buffets for price I paid the Le Village Buffet was much better than the Carvings Buffet. I ate ten plates of dishes at Le Village Buffet whereas I ate only five plates of dishes at the Carvings Buffet. That’s why I believe regardless how big or small a buffet eatery is quality is always important. Despite a few items overall the Carvings Buffet wasn’t worth the price, even with a comp discount.
