Great location, friendly service, YUMMY food!!! Valentine’s Day Brunch(Biscuits/Gravy, California Omelette, even a burger!) was wonderful. Bloody Mary was the best we’ve had in a long time. Very careful with food allergies. Will come again!

Blown away. The food was excellent and the service top notch. The sauce on the sole was fabulous. The boar skewers were cooked perfectly. The crab cakes were super tasty. The crème brûlée was a perfect end and vaporized in your mouth. My new favorite restaurant.

Just ate here for the first time and had lunch. Didn’t know they just started serving lunch last week. Started with a Vodka martini with basil and black berry(took the afternoon off to have a birthday lunch with a best friend) which was wonderful, followed by the lobster roll and boar salad. Both were excellent. Having spent summer vacations in Maine, I found the lobster roll very authentic and my friend loved the salad. Service was great and friendly. Atmosphere is great too. They did a marvelous job renovating Jack Bacon’s place into a restaurant. Comfortable and upscale, not stuffy. Can’t wait to sit out back on the new lawn when the weather gets nice. Will definitely be back!

Lemme walk you guys through my experience… The server saw my gf & I walking in from across the street and held the door open for us. She walked us to a corner seat … I had a view of the Wild Orchid billboard, so it was a perfect spot lol ;) We ordered the 5-course feast. Server was very welcoming & helpful. First course was a quail egg shooter & smoked shrimp egg roll. BOMB& fresh. 2nd course: Spring mix salad. Light & fresh. 3rd course: Cream of mushroom — loved it. 4th course: OMG … Lobster, filet mignon, potatoes, carrots — all cooked to perfection. Oh, man — UNBELIEVABLE. 5th course: Deconstructed cheesecake … I’m usually not one for fancy shmancy food(I just like big portions lol), but this was amazing. From beginning to end, a great experience. Quaint place, good environment, friendly service. $ 55/plate for my date & I. Totally great. We’ll be back again to try more foods on their menu soon!

Loved it! Food, drinks and service were all excellent. We all had the Feast dinner, each course was fantastic and portioned well. My fillet was perfectly cooked and seasoned just right and each came with half a lobster tail.

A bit expensive if you order«The Feast» but well worth it. Excellent food, great wine parings. A dining experience to remember. We will return for the next special occasion. Norm

The ambiance here is great, and refreshingly unlike the casino high-end choices. The menu is good, reflecting variety and familiar choices. The service was relatively poor, which was really surprising. The server was running about like a chicken with its head cut off. The proprietor asked how things were, but the question seemed rhetorical, as there was no action taken on our shoulder shrugs and reports that things were«fair». The server rebuffed my spouse’s comment that both the octopus and lobster were over-cooked, saying nothing and just moving on to whether there was anything we wanted for dessert. We wanted to like this place, and found the environment very comfortable. Based on the food, we will not be willing to try it again.

Our monthly Girl’s Supper took us to Feast(Sat, Jan 16). Here is the ‘group’s’ review(4 of us this month): Pros: *All of the food was cooked to perfection. The flavors blended really well. *Location is good — fairly easy to find parking(lot and street) *Ambience was very nice, upscale. *Definitely higher end, classy restaurant(avg price points are $ 15/apps and $ 30/entrée). Prices fluctuate with market prices. *Staff was top notch from the time we entered to the time we left. Dake was our server — very knowledgeable, friendly and great recommendations. *Nice, clean bathrooms. *The bar area looks really nice also — we sat near the kitchen. *Open kitchen concept so you can see meals being prepared. *They had a ‘prepared’ five-course menu in addition to their regular menu. Price depended on whether you had alcohol or not. It looked great, I just couldn’t eat a five-course meal that eve. Cons: *We really couldn’t think of any other than it was a bit loud but we were forewarned about that when I made the reservations, plus we wanted to be near the kitchen. I think the bar area may be a little quiter? We’ve been visiting a different restaurant monthly for over a year now. We all agreed that this place is by far our favorite so far. I’m definitely going back to try Sunday brunch, it looks amazing!

There are some details to be ironed out. We didn’t make a reservation but were able to get seats at the bar. We didn’t receive a drink menu beyond a really limited wine list that didn’t pair very well with the food menu. Was it bad wine? No. Was it good wine? No. We went for the boar skewers for an appetizer and while we enjoyed the char on the meat the sauce was overly sweet and distracting. Our bread service took a while to arrive – it was busy I know but we got to that dangerous place where the hanger was settling in. And it turned out our food order got lost on its way to the kitchen. That’s anecdotal, and mistakes happen. But our meals were just ok when they did arrive. I ordered a ribeye that was prepared nicely but a poor cut of meat. The lobster ravioli was in an unpleasantly bitter sauce. And our wines didn’t really compliment our meals much, and that’s a shame for a steak and seafood place. I’d be motivated to attempt the prix fixe one day with a reservation and an improved wine list.

How do you review a meal that you won? Well…I have enjoyed Reno Bites Week since it started in 2012. Last fall I won dinner for four at Feast. This new restaurant at the south end of downtown opened in late November, but this was the first chance we had to try it. This won’t be our last visit. I made reservations, telling them I won the RBW dinner. When we arrived we were offered our choice of seats, I highly recommend the back left corner by the kitchen. The huge glass window allows a great show of the kitchen with your dinner. If the weather is good I would go with a seat on the wonderful patio area. The menu looked fantastic– steaks, and other luscious dishes to chose from. But I won«The Feast». Allow a mellow three hour evening to enjoy this menu which is $ 75 a person and includes wine pairings. We started off with a choice of cocktail. I went with the blackberry martini, nice choice. Chardonnay was paired with the appetizer plate of grilled octopus, quail egg shooter, and deviled shrimp on endive. A pretty impressive way to start the meal. A different Chardonnay was served with an arugula salad with feta and fresh strawberries. So far the meal is a great start. Pinot noir with a tomato based soup. Then arrives the main course on a wooden plank– lobster, filet mignon with black molasses Demi glacé, scalloped potatoes and asparagus. The lobster was cut in half, and a little difficult to eat, the steak had incredible well seasoned flavor and was the tenderest I’ve had in a while and a PERFECT medium rare, and I loved the potatoes. A real man’s dinner. This course was paired with a nice Malbec, which over the last few years has become my favorite red. Save room because it wouldn’t be a complete feast without dessert. A nice small portion of chocolate Crème brûlée, and not very many places will serve it. This was a wonderful menu, but I was told that«The Feast» changes weekly with fresh ingredients and the chef’s choice. I had wonderful company, and we enjoyed a leisurely 3+ hour dinner. I believe all dinners should be that way. The owner and the chef each came to the table to check on us and talk about the place. I admit I have had many meals prepared by Chef Joe, and have always enjoyed his food. Hopefully we will be back Sunday to try the brunch. And the hubby already placed his vote for his upcoming birthday dinner, so we shall be returning.

I was saving my 100th review for a Five Star, it took awhile to find one! So here it goes… My charming husband took me to Feast on Wednesday, January 6, for my birthday dinner. The location is great, right on the edge of downtown and midtown,(they have parking behind YAY!). The restaurant space is beautiful, and slightly on the minimalist side. 630 reservations and we picked a corner table by the window. I will admit I was slightly worried when the only menu I saw was the prix fixe for the night. The menu started with a quail egg shooter and that is not my jam! The amazing wait staff then came over with the other menus and described the options with the prix fixe. I was still slightly skeptical. It should come as no surprise I ended up ordering the prix fixe dinner for the night. A lovely filet and half a lobster. The appetizers were equally amazing, once Drew«disposed» of the quail egg shooter(gag). The spicy spring roll sat atop some of the most incredible Thai peanut sauce I have ever tasted. Hubby ate the salad for me and I enjoyed the mushroom soup. While it had more of a sauce consistency it still tasted absolutely incredible. Now to that filet. Probably the best filet since the one I had at 4th Street Bistro, on my birthday four years ago. Perfectly cooked, it melted in my mouth like beefy butter! The desert was some kind of fruit crumble thing but when they figured out it was the anniversary of my escape from the womb they asked to make me something special. I said I was simple and would love their crème brûlée, since that’s my favorite. Perfect ratio of sugar topping to sweet, thick custard. I was in heaven. From perfect authentic service, to a spectacular meal, I could not recommend a better place to have a special dinner. We need to go back to try some of the appetizers I saw, this is an excellent addition for foodies in this town!

When I think of ‘feast’, I think of a long table, covered in white linen, topped with platters of large portions of tasty goodness. But this restaurant, «Feast», is a feast for your senses… pleasant aesthetics with simple décor, neatly dressed servers, music that suits the venue, beautiful plating, and perfect portions with flavors that delight the taste buds. My first visit was for a Sunday brunch, which I will be highly recommending to everyone I know. I had the Pat LaFrieda burger. Now, I am not in the know when it comes to designer burgers… all I do know is that this is one amazing must have! Cooked to perfection, juicy without running all over your hand, flavored with just the right touches. Next time, I will not be sharing with anyone! I had given half to my man… big mistake, big! The fries were plenty and dressed in fresh parsley and garlic. My family enjoyed their plates just as much. I snuck a bite of my daughter’s pancakes and was impressed… they were super fluffy, not too sweet. I also had the pleasure of coming in for a dinner with my man. We decided to splurge and do the Pre Fixe(5 courses) for that night, with the pre-dinner cocktail and wine pairings.$ 75 each. Worth.every.single.penny! Our server, Dake, kindly remembered us from our brunch about two weeks before, welcomed us back, and took great care of us throughout the evening. Since the menu changes, I won’t go through all the details of our meal. Let me just say that if they offer the Lobster Louie appetizer, you simply have to get it and savor each delectable bite… maybe even lick the serving board. I really wanted to do that. Ken and Chef Joe have something really special here at Feast and I can’t wait to come back again and again. I think this will be my favorite date night spot.

This might be a little pedantic of a review… but I feel it’s important to go through it in timeline fashion… 9:30PM Saturday. I noticed on «the facebook» that they were now serving brunch! 9:00AM having a lazy-slow to go Sunday morning… I ask my wife«Brunch at Feast?» 12:10 I quickly hop out of the car to go and check the menu before bringing in the family. Sometimes they can be a little picky on what they like. Right when I walked in. I was offered a Bloody Mary on the house because they are practicing! Can’t beat that! Quick text to the wife telling her come in. good solid offerings on the menu. 12:20 We wanted to order up almost all of the menu. I couldn’t decide on what to have so I just ordered up the«French Toast» to share and then I got Portuguese Eggs Benedict. My wife got the Pat LaFrieda Burger. And my daughter got the pancake short stack. 12:30. I finished my spicy Bloody Mary($ 7). It was really good and not just because it was comped. I’m particular about my Mary’s. This one wasn’t thick and gloppy, it was lighter and perfect for having with a meal. I even tasted my wives Mimosa that had a blackberry and a raspberry in it. So perfect. Many times they don’t hit the right balance of sweet in a mimosa. This bar hit it on the bullseye. Perfect. 12:40 Our meals come out. Wonderful plating, a «feast» for the eyes is always a good sign when you are trying a new restaurant. I remember thinking… those hashed browns look amazing.” And«WOW that is a lot of fries». Our table got quiet as we dug into our meals. My wife thankfully cut her burger in half and sent me the other half. Excellent $ 14 burger and perfectly cooked and seasoned crinkle cut fries. And I say thankfully, because when I asked, «Would you have shared had you taken your bite first?» She said«Nope.» So luckily I got the burger while it was available. My Benedict was worth getting again. All the right balances and not too much salt. A great hearty filling Benedict. I ate one, and sent one to my wife. But I still kept eating at those wonderful wonderful hash browns. My daughters pancakes($ 5?). All I can say is skip the diet and get these. Even if everyone else orders up a savory dish for brunch… these would be a great«for the table» item. I will admit… sometimes I think in stars… and right then, after that bite of the pancakes I thought. «How can I NOT give Feast 5 stars? That burger and those pancakes…» But I still had the«for the table» French toast order. It came out a little behind, the Chef probably had a good idea on what we were planning. It’s one of the things we do at breakfast/brunch. Everyone orders then we get a sweet/carb to have as a type of dessert. We skipped the fruit this time and just tried them straight. 1:00 As I mentioned to the chef… maybe a little more egg on the French Toast would make me happy but by no means were they anything less than excellent. He explained the brioche is pretty dense so that makes sense. We chatted a bit more and he headed back to the kitchen. All of the staff was welcoming, warm and professional. They had apologized for any kinks we might encounter because of this being the first day… but none were found. Great service and great food at every point in the meal. We cannot wait to get back in and try them out for Dinner.

I decided to go to this place for my husband’s birthday because he loves seafood and it looked like this place had a lot to choose from. Upon entering the restaurant, I immediately felt awkward standing in the middle of the dining room looking for a hostess station assuming I had entered through the wrong door. The hostess hurried over seeming to notice our discomfort and quickly seated us near the open kitchen. The hostess was nice enough and said they had a feast menu which she placed in front of us then left. We waited, then waited longer for someone to come with a menu, a cocktail list or a wine list so we could at least order a drink while we waited. About ten minutes later, I asked the hostess to please find our waiter which she did. The waiter apologized profusely for her error in not seeing us sitting there. She left the wine list and menu and came back in a minute to get our drink order. It was not enough time to look over the menu, so we asked for more time. The wine list was the most dismal, sad excuse for a wine list I have seen in a long time. There are chain restaurants with better wine options than this place. For example, I wanted a glass of sparkling wine pre-dinner and possibly with dinner. They didn’t offer one. The BTG wines were also seriously lacking with some very cheap wines and wines I have had that are of poor quality. I was looking at the Ferrari Carano Pinot Grigio, but at $ 14 per glass, I opted for a cocktail. Simple Moscow mule please. It was fine, tasting of inexpensive ginger ale, but it’s hard to mess that drink up too badly. We finally ordered our food, my husband with lobster ravioli and I a pistachio encrusted halibut filet, both of us agreed were average in preparation and taste. Both of us ordered appetizer salads and laughed out loud when they arrived. The small pile of lettuce off to one side of an enormous oval plate. Nice try to be cool. It made the small salad seem smaller and left us giggling at the stupid presentation. My salad had a very pungent, acidic vinaigrette. My husband liked his little Caesar salad’s taste, for me it was all anchovy flavor and nothing else. At this point the waitress had made some other errors and I was over this place, so we left and had dessert elsewhere. It’s a shame this place wasn’t worth the price. It’s a pity the restaurant is designed poorly leaving people feeling awkward upon arrival. It’s inexcusable to leave guests wishing they could have some decent wine. Spend your money elsewhere. This is an amateur establishment and only a trifle better than a chain restaurant of your choosing.

Feast is fabulous. We had our Nevada Diabetes Association luncheon there today and though they are not yet open for lunch they were kind enough to do a very special party for our organization. As I understand it they will be opening for bunch and lunch in the next few weeks. We had an assortment of apps that included cauliflower tater tots, orange cured salmon and wild boar. A wonderful salad, Chicken Marsala with gnocchi and baby(the real deal) carrots. Plus a multi layer chocolate cake with goat cheese frosting. I’m going to definitely make a date with my ever Lov’n for one of their tasting dinners and bunch and lunch. If you haven’t already check it out. I’m sure Happy Hour would be fun too!

If you are looking for high quality traditional food served to perfection in a comfortable atmosphere, this is the place. If you are looking for cutting edge trendy minimalist food, you may want to go somewhere else. We had dinner here the other night before going to a concert at Pioneer Center. What a wonderful experience it was. We created very cordially by the lovely young hostess and as it was earning in the evening, were given a choice of seats — by the bar, by the fire, by the kitchen. We chose by the kitchen in close proximity to the fire. The space is warm and inviting with brick walls and comfy chairs and benches. The«divided light» windows across the front of the building add to the charm and beauty of the space. We decided not to go with the Feast. It was more food then we felt we could eat, but is a good deal since the $ 75 includes a full five course meal with drinks. We ordered off the menu. I started with the amazing Pumpkin Bisque soup. It was spicy and peppery and lusciously smooth and creamy. It was sprinkled with cinnamon which also provided a wonderful aroma to the dish. For my main course, I had salmon over risotto with a dill caper pan sauce. It was perfection on a plate. The Salmon was moist and flaky with a clean mild taste(really fresh). The risotto was just the way I like it — smooth and tender and rich. There was a side of broccolini with a nice touch of crunch, butter and garlic. We passed on dessert as we were quite full. Ken, the owner, took some time to visit with us. We felt like royalty. Our waitress was amazing and made sure that every part of our meal was to our liking. I am looking forward to returning and trying some of their other amazing offerings. Maybe, we will not eat for a few days and try«The Feast».

My son called me after his experience at The Feast. You have to try it. It was absolutely wonderful. He ordered off the regular menu. I made reservations for the four of us. We arrived and greeted outside the door. They treated us from start to finish as we were family. They have two menu«The Feast» $ 75.00 and a regular menu. We all ordered The Feast. Everything was wonderful. I’m not a pumpkin person, but they had Pumpkin soup that was so good I wanted to lick the bowl.(Don’t worry, I didn’t) everything was awesome. **********Now for my two complaints. For a feast all of us walked out not quite satisfied. NOWTHEBIGGESTCOMPLAINT: The regular menu has a few lobster dishes; like lobster ravioli and lobster soup. Our main course of filet(which I like rare but we were never asked how we liked it cooked) and a half of a whole main lobster was served. When it was placed on the table, ALL four of us noticed A LOT of pieces in the lobster tail had been removed,(maybe they serve anorexic lobsters). Maybe for the other items on the regular menu. I eat enough lobster to know what half a lobster is supposed to look like. That Is just wrong. That made this restaurant a cheat to me. Plain rude.

My husband and I decided to try this place on a whim for an early dinner. Not knowing that they didn’t open until five, we tried the doors and found them locked at 4:50 pm. The owner saw us through the window and invited us in, even though they were still opening. The staff was very welcoming and professional We decided to try the Feast menu, which included a cocktail, three different appetizers(quail egg shooters, salmon sashimi, and oysters rockefeller), a salad, a soup(pumpkin bisque), a main course of fillet Mignon and lobster, and a dessert(chocolate mousse). Each course came with a wine pairing. The food was amazing. Seriously perfect. At $ 75 a person the Feast is not cheap, but considering the quality of the food and the fact that wine and a cocktail are included I felt it was well worth the price. The service was great and the atmosphere nice but not pretentious. I would highly recommend this restaurant and their signature menu.

We heard of the opening of this wonderful restaurant through social media and stopped in on a Saturday night with no reservations. We had no expectations other than curiosity. The maître d greeted us warmly. He checked the reservations and let us know it would be 45 minutes. We left him our name and went next door to Ceol’s for a drink. He came to Ceol’s ten minutes later to let us know our table was ready. Impressive. He let us know we could finish our drinks and our table would be waiting. When we arrived we quickly seated. Shortly thereafter our waiter greated us and told us about the Feast menu. Service was impeccable from start to finish. The décor was the perfect blend of traditional and modern. We asked for a suggestion for a cocktail and we were surprised the bartender actually came to our table. She suggested a wonderful blueberry basil vodka martini. My parter loved it so much, I asked if she could do a «mock-tail» version for me(I do not drink alcohol). I was so pleased that the bartender accommodated my request. This alone assured my regular return. The menu was well rounded. We ordered the ahi special. It was absolutely amazing. It was served over a risotto. The risotto was delectable. We completed the meal with crème brûlée and a dark chocolate mouse. Both were spot on. I cannot say enough about our evening. This restaurant has set the bar for fine dining in Reno. I have never had service of this level since I moved to Reno in 2003. The service, food and ambiance rival any 5-star restaurant in the San Francisco Bay Area.
