Tried our Great Full Gardens today while on the UNR campus and STARVING. The line was the longest, but it seemed like the tastiest/healthiest food court option, and my lunch partner is a vegetarian. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the line moved! Even more, the quality did not suffer for the speediness. The service was also above the usual friendliness. I enjoyed a grilled Tasty Tuna Sandwich with a side of quinoa(other side options were tater tots or a bag of chips.) The sandwich’s heirloom tomatoes were super flavorful, and the greens were a nice mix. A lot of times, I feel like restaurants put too much tuna and some ends up falling out. Not the case here — it was a perfect amount. I left feeling very satisfied, but not stuffed. Super quick, healthy option for students, faculty and staff.

It is awesome to FINALLY have a healthy eating option on campus. It’s a little ironic that Great Full Gardens took over the old Villa pizza, one of the most unhealthy eating options we had on campus at the time. The only downside to this is that it is an express place for Great Full Gardens, aka much smaller version of their menu in midtown. Everyone who works here is super nice, I have never seen anyone who looks unhappy… Or even not smiling, frankly. Pretty cool! I have had the grilled cheese here. It tasted Good. Not great, just good. I got a side of the quinoa and found that to be really good! That was my first time ever trying quinoa, and they made me a fan! The second time I have been I tried the Paleo Chicken Bowl. That was super good! Nice mix of chicken and greens. Next time I go I will definitely be getting that again! Lines are long during lunch(this is definitely the students favorite place to go) but if you go before 12 and after 2 you can usually avoid the crowds– and the wait!

Ehh. Not seeing the hype about this place. Got the grilled cheese and quinoa salad which I had heard about a lot. Grilled cheese is eh. The cheese they use must have weak flavors. Quinoa salad is ok. It’s not some amazing thing, it is a mediocre side dish not a talking point. For 5 bucks it was ok. :/but with port of subs right there for a ton of flavor for just a bit more. I’ll go there.

I finally made it to GFG Express. I was a customer of their original location, Pathways, which was at the far north end of campus. When they closed Pathways and opened Great Full Gardens on South Virginia I was thrilled. The menu expanded, the service and atmosphere welcoming. I happened to be on campus for training and selected GFGExpress for lunch. I forgot how good their grilled cheese sandwich is. Made with heirloom tomatoes, 4 kinds of cheese and pesto aioli, it can’t be beat! I chose quinoa for my side because I always enjoy it at GFG. The version here is red quinoa and just as delicious as that served at GFG. For dessert I went with their cream cheese brownie. What a great finish to a delicious lunch! Sweet but not uncomfortably so. I nibbled away at it for 20 minutes or so just to savor it.

Honestly thank god for this place, its hard to get alternatives for junk food on a college campus. They offer a lot of alternative(paleo, vegetarian/vegan) food options and everything there that I’ve had so far has been absolutely delicious, not to mention a lot healthier than the alternatives.

Healthy, delicious food! I got the quesadilla which was packed with local chicken and veggies. Very filling. My husband got the fiesta salad and liked it. Excellent service. Our waitress helped accommodate our cranky baby’s needs. OOPS – I REVIEWEDTHERESTAURANTBUTCANTDELETEIT!

Great Full Gardens is definitely one of the better dining options on campus. It has healthy options, and their food tastes fresh. My go to dish is the turkey pesto sandwich, and it is so good! The pesto is what really pulls the sandwich together. Although the prices for items are higher than I would like(being a college student and all), I find that by ordering a half sandwich with tater tots that I am full and satisfied. They definitely don’t skimp on the tots. My order comes to around $ 6.00 which is a decent price for the amount of food I get. Not a fan of the breakfast bowl though, it was fairly bland.

My go to when I forget to bring lunch or when I’m craving something out of the normal routine. Anyways this is probably the healthiest option on campus, it is about time there is higher quality dining outlet. They have avocado, Dutch crunch bread, and delicious soups which is why they receive a 5 star from me.

On my way to get my usual morning eats, I noticed the Great Full Gardens lights were on and people working. One of the guys caught me gawking and said, «we serve breakfast now.» It was the first day so I veered off my track. Thank goodness… best breakfast burrito served on or near campus.

Given that I work at UNR, I am THRILLED to finally have a healthy eating option on campus! With that said, on day 2 of being open, I rushed up to Great Full Gardens Express for dinner following an evening meeting. I was about 7pm and you could tell they had a busy day as they all looked exhausted! I asked the lady at the counter if they had been busy and she said it had been non-stop service all day long and they were loving it. I ordered a paleo chicken bowl — lots of veggies on a bed of sautéed greens, topped with chicken and salsa. There was no one in line behind me and about 4 others waiting for food. It probably took about 5 minutes for my food to come out, which for a fast casual campus option is a little long, especially considering there were only a few people in line. I wonder how long it will take during the peak of lunch rush… Anyway, something was funky with their order printing system and they were accidentally making double orders of some items, so they gave me a free ham and cheese sandwich as it was a mistake order and they were going to toss it — bonus! I sat down and ate my paleo bowl — it was good, but not as good as it is in the actual restaurant(I’ve had it serval times at the other location). It was just bland overall and the veggies were barely cooked — broccoli could have basically been raw. It was fine and I devoured it as I was starving following a long day, but nothing I am super excited to have again. Michael T was the lucky recipient of the extra sandwich and he said it was good. It was served with a side of quinoa salad — also really bland. I am thinking they might just need some time to get their game together, and I will certainly be back to try them again!

I’m so happy to have a new, healthy option on campus! I love Great Full Gardens in midtown, and I think they did a good job bringing a a variety of options to campus. I went on opening day and was happy to see a large line, because I want to see them succeed. I posted pictures of the menu so you can see all of the options. I’ve eaten there twice. The first time I had the TLT sandwich(tempeh bacon, lettuce and tomato) combo — it’s a half sandwich with a cup of soup and quinoa salad(or french fries). My second time I had the sandwich combo again($ 7.99), but with the turkey and pesto sandwich. Both sandwiches were delish, with house made aioli or pesto spreads and good sourdough bread. The quinoa salad is full of fresh veggies, and the soups are also fresh and delicious. My one minor quibble so far is that the soups aren’t served very hot — maybe they’re still working out the temperatures? As I was waiting in line on their first day open, there was quite a wait — but that’s because everything is made fresh in front of your face, and they were working out the kinks. I watched Gino(the owner) working the line and chatting with all of the customers coming through. I could tell that he takes pride in the food he serves — as he handed a salad with salmon to a customer, he told the customer that they only use wild Alaskan sockeye salmon. I like that he selects his ingredients carefully, and wants everyone to know about them. Welcome the UNR Great Full Gardens Express! I’m glad you’re here!

I have been waiting for this place to open for months. I was so excited to finally have someone on campus who caters to people with food allergies and special dietary needs. Their menu is ok. They have many vegetarian/vegan options. For the people like me with a wheat allergy they are lacking. They carry Udis bread and any of their sandwiches can be made on this bread. Their sandwich selection does not impress me. I went to go buy a few pieces of their bread today because I just want to eat bread. They unfortunately cannot sell their bread unless you want to pay for an $ 8 and up sandwich. I am extremely disappointed by their lack of enthusiasm to accommodate people who want to spend money at their establishment. This is why I give them 2 starts.

OHYES! Finally, Great Full Gardens Express is at UNR! I have been waiting for several months for it to open and boy it did not let me down! My friend and I shared a turkey pesto sandwich with quinoa on the side. It was incredible. The pesto aioli was delicious. We added some guacamole that made it all come together in an explosion of taste! We ordered the multigrain bread which I have to say was the best decision. It was a-maz-ing! I love how they had sunflower seeds on the crust. It added just the right amount of crunch to my sandwich. We went early for a brunch and it seemed like a really good time to get there. I was pleasantly surprised there was such a large variety for an «express» location! They had their fabulous bowls, salads, sandwiches, etc. They even had baked goods. I appreciated they had some samples of the chai cookie, which was incredible by the way. Way to go! I know I will definitely be heading back!
