Went with my wife and got the all you can eat lunch. Good food and friendly service. Went during lunch and I must say that I think they need to get another server. I only saw one girl during the afternoon rush hour and at one point we were brought someone else’s order. As I was attempting to get the servers attention, she realized the error and apologized and took the order away. The sushi was fresh and good and other that that minor incident, it was mostly a good experience. Planing on going back again soon.

Was ok Tuna wasn’t very well prepared People were nice but for sushi you’re better off paying higher prices for better quality

The food is very depressing. The servers are nice but don’t know the basics of serving… this restaurant is a joke!

Tried jiji for the 2nd time. First time in sparks. Sushi was bland and it all tasted the same. We usually go to Minato or Kokopelli’s. Godzilla roll the grease could be seen absorbed into the rice. All sauces seemed watered down. No flavor in anything. Service was pleasant. I’m not sure what other people see or tasted to give 3 stars or above. To bad we were hoping the sushi had gotten better since our first experience in the sparks restaurant.

This was our 2nd time here at this location for my daughter’s birthday and wow, management needs to pay more attention! First off, it was a Tuesday night on a snowy January evening, and the place was pretty packed. They had very slow service our kids luckily both got their food within the first 30 minutes of after ordering. However none of my husband ‘s and my rolls, came to ahead until about 45 minutes-hour later and many were missing or wrong. Luckily, when the plate of 6 rolls finally did come and we were ready to go and I asked for a togo box, they said yes. Not going back.

We had a fantastic experience. All you can eat sushi was tasty. Appetizers and salad wonderful. Neil the manager made it fun.

Food was OK until the jagged piece of plastic in my roll that caused bleeding in my mouth. But hey, they discounted my sixty dollar bill a whole three dollars. Fucking joke. I’ll never eat here again. Highly not recommended!

I am so disappointed with this place. I’ve been to Ijji 2 twice(maybe more), and I had good, if not great, experiences there. I was expecting the same at Ijji 3, but that’s not the case here. We had the lunch AYCE. The food was flat out tasteless ~ from the appetizers(calamari tempura, grilled mussels) to the nigiris(unagi, hamachi, seared tuna), to the long rolls(fiesta, paradise, pacific). They were either too oily, if deep-fried, or the rice too cold, if not. The sauce were either too sweet, or too fake. I just powered through everything because I was too hungry. This was my first sushi since September and I was really looking forward to it. What a let down. The 2 stars are for the place, which was clean and plenty of seating at the bar, and for the service ~ always checking how we’re doing, and if we’re ready for our next order. Too bad the food didn’t live up to par.

Even though it’s one of the closer sushi places to where I live, I hadn’t been to this Ijji yet. Went with a group of friends on a Sunday night, which always scares me a bit when doing sushi. Maybe my fear is totally unfounded, but I worry that I’ll be eating all of the leftover fish that wasn’t sold during the weekend. One thing that stood out right away was the restaurant was pretty cold. I guess that’s a good thing when it comes to raw fish, but everyone at our table was shivering in our short sleeve shirts. Bring a sweater with you! The fish was pretty typical for a Reno AYCE sushi spot. The rolls that stood out to me were the Mountain and Bamba rolls. Nothing was amazing per se, but most choices were good. I felt there wasn’t a ton of variety on the menu– most rolls were some combination of tempura/crystal shrimp, avocado, salmon, tuna, krab, etc. But again, everything was tasty. Fish was fresh tasting and not at all«fishy.» I enjoyed my dessert orange, and left feeling satisfied.

Food is great, drinks are good, and the staff will do shots and drinks with you. Excellent customer service and a great atmosphere for young adults/college people. Anna has to be the single most awesome manager ever!

Just getting in from a long flight and looking for something light. Ordered their hand rolled Reno and two pieces of yellow tail. I have had great experiences with yellow tail and this is the first bad one I have had. Smelled and tasted old!!! The hand rolled Reno was rolled on dried up see weed I could not chew or eat, so being hungry o just unwrapped the ingredients and went to town. All I have to say is edible… Before I left, they told me about all you can eat at $ 22 and for that $ 12& change plus tip I just paid for, I am not excited coming back to try their you can eat or anything else… Everyone deserves a second chance, so maybe in due time I will stop again to give them another shot…

Got into Reno late Sunday and decided to try a new Sushi venue. Had heard about this third location so rolled on in to give it a look. Different atmosphere but was greeted promptly and courteously. Started with some excellent potstickers and green tea. First orders of nigiri we’re quickly brought out. Yellow tail and scallops we’re both excellent. Next order of hand roll sushi equally fine. Took a break for some more tea and started getting annoyed by the loud crude table next to me. They had been drinking and getting louder and more vulgar the hour I had been seated. Finally I asked for my bill and told the manager that a nice dining experience had been curtailed by the rudeness of that table. He did apologize but I believe he should have noticed their behavior and interceded. Probably won’t go back soon but will give it another try at a later date. Good sushi decent service but not a great experience this time.

Hmm, got to say, I’m pleasantly surprised. I had previously written off this local chain of sushi restaurants for a few reasons. A friend invited me out, and he was paying, so I can’t be picky right? Haha, the health inspection scores aren’t up for this location yet, or I can’t find them, but with sushi, those are real important. The original location left a bad taste in my mouth, literally, and the scores reflect that… so I was hesitant, but hopeful with it being newer. I think the menu is pretty promising, and I wanted to try a lot more items than I could fit(Yay Kaia Fit for settling down my insatiable appetite). Coming with my friend I tried some rolls I would never order alone, one with strawberry sauce(Honolulu) and one with mango and asparagus(Hawaii), while they weren’t awful, a few bites was enough and probably wouldn’t order if alone. While I stuck with my same old favorites, any combos of tuna, ebi, crab, cilantro, and lemon… I had a classic Wayne’s handroll, which I haven’t had in a while, and the Fiesta(tuna, cilantro, jalapeño, lemon, cucumber) too. Nice and spicy jalapeño’s, but good. Then I had a fried roll, the 007, essentially a Godzilla but with crab. It was also good, nice and crunchy, really hate soggy deep fried rolls, which is why I normally avoid them. They have some interesting nigiri for the dinner menu, the Shrek(ebi, avocado, unagi, sweet sauce)… I haven’t had unagi in ages, this wasn’t crispy, but warm and tender, and not fishy at all. And the Hot Nemo(ebi, spicy tuna, spicy crab, avocado, sweet sauce). I had a crazy tuna hand roll with sounds like it is, with a different ingredient, fried leek… nice pop of crunch. Topped off with orders of krab and seared tuna nigiri. The mussels, were okay, I like more ponzu, less cheesy type sauce, but you get 6 your first round. And the miso was bland, watered down too much. But the rolls weren’t huge(a plus for AYCE), and the nigiri had huge slices of fish compared to rice, and I even like rice. And everything seemed fresh, not stale and fishy(which again, happened at the original location) Basically like that one crazy ex you can’t help but go back to for FWB, I think I will keep this location on my radar. I am kind of a sushi slut anyways, and don’t really stick to one place… just like real life, no emotions or connections just pleasure… am I right?

Worse of the ijji by a far margin. Gave us half the order than waited waited waited than try filled out a second order sheet and waited and waited and waited and waited for them to take the sheet. Waitress walked out we think chefs didn’t make all the order on the sheet and water empty but hey its all you can eat minus the eating here.

So I’m trying to do that low carb high fat thing and today was a total fail because a massive sushi craving attacked me. Usually we would go to Minato because it’s our favorite but we were out in the south end of town so we decided ijji 3 would do. The lunch menu is so limited. Huge disappointment. We made do, I can’t remember the names of the rolls we ordered. Most were ok, a couple were really bland and boring, and we had to ask for lemon slices just to make them taste like something. A couple of the rolls were pretty good but not anything special or even memorable enough to go «hey you should go there and get the______roll!», you know? The mussels were even a letdown. We tried the baked(with the creamy sauce stuff) and the grilled. I think they were all just overlooked. Like chewing bits of leather with sriracha on them. And they don’t have mochi, what the heck man?! Eh, filled the craving but I don’t think I will go back.

We’ve been to ijji once and this was the location we went to. The experience was great as our sushi guy was spot on, quick, and had awesome recommendations. He would ask us what we liked and threw out some delicious stuff. I typically hit the AYCE menu at all the sushi joints out in Reno. The fish to rice ratio was decent. The quality of the fish was average… what you would expect from a buffet. Everything is made in front of you… Service was bomb. Our sushi guy made awesome conversation which made the experience that much more memorable. 4 stars.

We were so happy when Ijji decided to put and IJJI3 in south reno. We really didn’t have any good sushi places down this way until now. They have such a large menu. The appetizers are included in all you can eat. Everything is made fresh. We went with some friends in a large group and the chef would make us a «chefs roll» of something he thought we would like based on what we were ordering that wasn’t on the menu. the service is always wonderful, seated promptly.

Was in the mood for sushi so a search on Unilocal helped me find this place just half a mile from where I was. I got there exactly at 11 am right when they opened. Since I was by myself I opted to sit at one of the bars where they make the sushi right in front of you. At first I was tempted to get the $ 15.95AYCE lunch but didnt want to be in a food coma for the rest of the day because I was still working so I ended up getting the Box Combo #8($ 11.95) which consisted of Teriyaki Steak, Tempura, Seared Tuna, Edamame, Steamed Rice, Salad and Miso Soup. I also got an order of the Osaka($ 6.25) which consisted of Cooked Salmon, Jalapenos, and Cream Cheese. The teriyaki steak was well done which I did not like. I should asked for it medium rare. I think any time steak is involved there should always be a question of how you want it cooked. Hope you guys take note on this. The tempura had veggies and one large shrimp which was decent. The miso soup and edamame were just ok. The steamed rice was a bit dry and the salad was decent with some kind of rice vinegar/ginger taste to it. The Osaka roll was very good with the salmon and crunch of the chopped jalapenos not to mention the creaminess of the cream cheese. I was dipping it in the soy sauce/sriracha mix that I made which made it even better. After having this meal I realized I should of just went with the ayce. Although there were certain items that were not availabe for the lunch version, you still had a lot of choices to pick from. The dinner ayce is $ 22.95 which everything on the menu is fair game. Service was ok. I had to wait a bit for my server to get me the check since I was done eating for about 10 minutes. In closing, think I will do the ayce next time for I will probably spend the same amount just going a la carte by itself. Unilocal 2014365 Review Challenge #132

May 11, 2014 Sunday(Mother’s Day) — lunch 11:45AM 5 adults Atmosphere — 5 stars Food — 2 stars Service — 5 stars Background — A friend invited us to join her and her two daughters. This is our first time to this Ijji location. Atmosphere — Love the fact you can sit at a table to have AYCE sushi. The place is good sized with a mix of booths, tables, and the sushi bar. Food Drinks — Hot tea, they give you a little hot carafe so you can choose your own strength. So I tried my first quail egg shooter. Hmmmm little disappointed as it tasted like warm soy sauce with a dab of something creamy in it. My friends said it did not taste right. I would have to believe that. Appetizer — The girls ate the apps, which is fine. My wife loves their pot stickers. My Main Course — It is Reno so we did all you can/could eat. So this was not our normal Sushi group so I do not know if that played a factor in my food rating. So my biggest problem was all the rolls tasted like each other. Okay one exception, the Honolulu had a strawberry sauce on top. Visually stunning, taste wise a little weird. The sauce would have been better on the dessert roll. The tempura rolls where all over cooked, we left almost one roll uneaten because of this. Dessert — Mother’s day special they gave us a dessert roll. Soy paper wrapper around fruit topped with whipped cream. The banana in the roll really stood out, also noticed some strawberry in it. Service — A team worked our table and they were great. They even worked the gift cards and credit cards. Future — I want to try it again to see if it was just off day for the sushi.
