I took my son here a week ago around 9 pm. Words cannot describe how disgusting this place was. It was a Friday night and they do not close until 10:30. All the food out was old and unedible. The two soup pans had about an inch of soup left in them with caked on crap all on the inside. The crab legs smelled so bad, I assume they were from the Sunday before. The floor was covered in food and just filthy. Even the bus boy gave me a look like I really shouldn’t be eating here. I managed to eat some green beans that weren’t too bad. When I went to pay I complained but the 2 women did not speak English. I went back the next day to get a refund and talked to the manager. She wanted to give me a gift certificate to come back. I said no way. She fought with me about giving me my money back. Finally, when I brought up the fact that several Health Code Violations have been brought against them, she refunded my money but subtracted the cost of 2 soft drinks. My poor son ended up with the runs. The place is a nightmare and management I believe is the problem. I feel sorry for the owner. This manager lady knows exactly what is going on in this restaurant and she is jeopardizing the owner and the business. I would fire her ass now! It’s sad that they think it’s okay to serve food that will make people sick.

My family has been here several times, and we do enjoy it every time. But there are several things about this buffet that I do not prefer, and therefore would not recommend. 1. Although the wait staff are hard working, they have no personality. They treat the customer like a number, get you seated, feed you, get your money, get you out. I felt rushed from the moment I walked in, to the moment the waitress was literally reaching over my shoulder to take the check from my hand the instant I had signed it. Also, English is nowhere near a priority to them. 2. The food is mediocre. It’s good, but nothing to sing songs about. There’s a decent variety, from seafood to Chinese fare, to some American favorites like fried chicken and french fries. They also have a very limited sushi selection, a good salad and fruit bar, and some desserts. 3. The water is horrible. Very hard and metallic. Abs when I asked if they had bottled water, the waitress sneered and said no, but didn’t bother to ask why I was asking, or offer anything else. There are far better buffets in town. Hit the casinos and you’ll get far better service and food for your money.

Absolutely THEWORST, most disgusting place to go for any reason much less to consume that stuff they try to pass off as food! There were 6 of us and 3 of us left sick, 2 that didn’t get sick just ate the fresh grill and the third person who didn’t get sick didn’t even eat. The bathrooms are so fully sickening — had I seen them ahead of time we would not have eaten there to begin with. Disgusting. Thoroughly and completely disgusting! ZEROSTARSIFWEREPOSSIBLE!

Really good and a lot of food for the money, but they trick you on thinking the drinks are part of the cost, which they should be for the price, but are not.

Food is good, if you don’t like a particular thing there is plenty to choose from. The staff is a little pushy, and hand you your check and push you out quickly. Other than that this place is good. Will come back.

As a place I’ve eaten at often throughout my life as a local I feel it very disrespectful that they would harass me, my pregnant wife, my one year old daughter, and my five-year-old daughter as if we were going to dine and ditch and have us pay at the table while everyone else paid at the counter. The service was horrible.

This place is horrible at customer service! I don’t know why they stand &STARE just looking at our table until they give us our check? We haven’t even got to dessert and they gave us our bill like they want us out already! They gave us our drinks but they never would come by and take our plates or give us refills and you expect us to tip? Bring all the Mexicans cooking from the back because they seem to have better generosity & common curtesy than your greedy judgmental Asian waitress that need too learn a thing or two about customer service. But I’ll give you a star because *shout out to the Mexican sushi guy that served our drinks and all the Mexicans cooking in the back while ya lame Asian waitresses looks pretty and good from the front. Due to competition from the endless selection of casino buffets, it is hard for a Chinese buffet to compete with a casino. Selection here is always the same. Usually staple of «American» Chinese food and some more authentic dishes like salt and spicy prawns or fried blue crab legs. When we don’t feel like cooking or spending a lot of money on nicer Chinese restaurants. We come here because it’s fast, and decent. Although tonight, it was slow, being the middle of the week and the food felt like it had been sitting out there for too long. Still there was plenty to choose from and so I did until I found fresher food. It’s $ 11 for all you can eat Chinese food and generic sushi. Can’t complain too much but I can’t give it more than 3 stars.

Just rude rude ppl the food isn’t that good or hot even. And then they treat you like your pissing them off by eating here. Then the women who gets your drinks is rude and then talks in Chinese about not getting a tip. Never again.

Most of you may know me as a real fan of authentic made to order Chinese food and you’d never find me in an all you can eat cheap Chinese buffet. Well, every place has it uses, and as long as you know what this place is and have realistic expectations, like no there will be no Roast Duck or Lobster here, nor will there be any other soup choices beside the ubiquitous hot and sour soup or egg flower soup. This is a good place to get fed cheap with most of all the American Chinese foods people have come to expect. Lunch was just $ 8.99 which is what I was here for with a friend from work. We just wanted food fast and cheap and this beats going the fast food route for what you get. Five Guy’s will cost me more than this AYCE place! And they have french fries here too, all you can eat, if you were so inclined, I wasn’t. The parking is easy and the interior is huge with lots of steam tables full of hot Chinese… and some not so Chinese foods. At lunch there were quite a few other people enjoying an AYCE lunch. Unlike the casino buffets, this buffet does not include drinks, other than water. I sampled the soup, Chinese fried chicken wings, the General’s Chicken, fried rice and some of the french fries just to see. The wings were really good, I come just for those and fill up! The fried rice was ehh. The General was decent with the sauce slathered over some steamed rice. All in all a decent meal for just $ 8.99, can’t beat that price for liunch… well, OK, a Double Double and fries at In N Out might best it by a little over a buck… big deal. I’d have no problems returning if I was in the area and in the mood for this kind of food… a good quickie. They also have a full ala carte menu, but I don’t think hardly anyone does that.

The food was not the best, but for the price it was good, the sushi was fresh, and that’s «not a compliment» sushi needs to be aged so it give you that nice fishy taste. Fresh fish is no good for sushi has no flavor. But if you like no strong taste then you will love this. The people where friendly that’s why I’m giving it 5

Hummm after you wake up sometimes still«Feelin It» you need to bring yourself back to reality. Like the song says…“Back to life, Back to Reality” after boozing and poplocking the night away in The City of Reno btw I did say«Poplocking» and not just dancing. I had an appetite suitable for a «King». Now here is where it gets good I promise. Its so easy for one that stays in one of the Virginia Street hotels during their visit to get lured in by one of the Casino restaurant’s or grills. But I’m the type that likes to venture off the yellow brick road a bit. Like they say«Life is like a box of Chocolates, You never know what you gonna get» but I ate those chocolates up already the night before when I was drinking now I needed something… filling…Chinese you say? Buffet you say??? AYCE?(all you can eat) oh a meal sutible for a «King» I found just the place. King Buffet. Let me rant about this one a little bit. Like I said in my City of Reno review, some of the hidden gems of Reno are outside of Virginia Street. My homie and I woke up starvin like Marvin and wanted something to carry us through we ate later on after partying. He had mentioned Chinese and good thing I Unilocal and Bookmark places even if I’m not close to them… cleaver me right! A Unilocal friend had visited this place before and reviwed it, so my mind was made up, if its recommended by a friend then it must be pretty good. So I showed my friend the page here on Unilocal and some pics and he was just as sold as I was. We got dressed and set off… now time to fast forward a bit. My homie and I arrived about an hour or so later. We were delighted just at the sheer size of the building, we knew that we were in for a treat upon walking in. It was a packed house, but to be honest… what buffets usually aren’t around 11 a.m.- 3p.m. on a warm Saturday morning? Unless they’re gross. Anyway we waited like about 2 minutes or so because a large group was about to be seated. When we finally got seated we were left scratching our heads, the waitress walked off when I was about to order our beverages. Ok cool, that’s fine, we came to eat and boy when I say suitable for a «King» this place nailed it spot on! I’ve beem to some AYCE Chinese Buffets before but the offerings always seemed… similar. Not to say thoae establishments weren’t good, but the variety of food wasn’t there. But that wasnt the case here. The way they organized this buffet and had it set up and layed out was cleaver and nice. All the menu items were placed with the type of food group it belonged too… score! I’ve never experienced that before at a buffet. The food here was moving as well, with the hotplates being changed out regularly because of the moving demand, you knew that the food was fresh here. They even had a Mongolian BBQ area which I love, and get excited to see at Chinese AYCE buffets. Because who really like going to the mall paying 12 dollers or more for a small plate of noodles… not me. So I rather have it included in the($ 8.99) price tag and get more. I’m a seafood guy and if you like seafood this place has no shortage of it, heck in fact you can see the fish tank when you walk in. Although those fish were for decoration, to me it was advertising. Here the american options were slim and to be honest I liked that, nothing more that I can’t stand to see when goong to a chinese buffet and seeing fried chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy. like really! The food here was great, very hot and fresh and it totally hit the spot. It filled the void we both needed at that moment. King Buffet isn’t walking distance if you’re staying downtown Reno, so you gotta hop in your ride or take a Über or Lyft or something to get here, because this place is like one street away from the Atlantis Casino Resort. Which if you know Reno is on the otherside of town. It sits on it’s own in a little strip mall of sorts. Grocery Outlet and Doller Tree are notible stores here. In my closing, the price here was pretty good, the food even better, but one star had to be taken away because the communication barrier and not getting my drinks till like my second plate of food. But. that isn’t taking away from my experience here. This is the perfect buffet in so many ways and would make you happy that you ventured off the normal route or… Unilocal in that matter. Because this place filled every expectation and more. So if you’re in the mood for Chinese, AYCE, oh and they have Sushi too even Dessert Sushi which I found intriguing and the little kiddos seemed to love it judging by handing them off to a few little ones before I got one piece of my own. Anyway I’m sure you would like this place, but results always vary as you know the world. Unilocal your own experience if you come here, because I know I can’t wait to come back!

I eat here once a month and have been since they opened after being Zookinies 4or 5 years back. I AM A VERYGOODJUDGEOFCHINESEBUFFETFOOD! Let’s get that straight. Service has always been good, not great as it is a big place. We had one bad experience with a waitress standing there waiting for a tip! Our plates are always cleared and no long waits for drink refills. The hot food serving pans are always ok rarely are they empty for long. Great crab legs at dinner(not King crab) hot octopus is good not too rubbery. Sushi comes in 6 types and not to bad for a buffet. BBQ has lots of choices and beef of reasonable quality. We are with a bunch of people in the back room, about 40 of us and no complaints! Outside of Unilocal have never hear of anyone getting sick! I CANNOTBELIEVETHEBADRATINGSTHE UnilocalERSAREGIVINGTHISPLACE, SOMESORTOFVENDETTA ?? Every King Buffet is privately owned, I will say there is a big difference between the Reno and the Carson city store! With the Carson City store noticeably better! So much so that we will drive down from Reno and fill up with much cheaper gasoline and eat at Kings! SEEFORYOURSELF, OVERPICKY UnilocalERS, GET A LIFE!

As far as buffets go, the casinos have it down… but for Chinese food, Kings Buffet takes it all, hands down! My family and I have been going to kings for as long as I can remember, and I love how after all these years, it’s still a great place to visit. Serving everything from cold fruits, salads and sushi, to egg flower and sweet and sour soups… to many different entrees but I still love that they have an awesome Mongolian BBQ station! I always get hot tea to drink, though they also have sodas, beers and sake too. Prices aren’t so bad for lunch but rises for dinner and is one set price all day on the weekends. Sunday is 12 $ all day. Weekend buffets have all the seafood out all day which I don’t mind at all when usually it’s only really out for dinner. Salmon, shrimp, prawns, clams, muscles, crab legs and even baby squids… omg! The waitstaff is always quick and nice, the table never piles up with plates and we never wait to long for refills. Sometimes the food takes a little bit to refill in the buffet but it’s never too long and the hot fresh food is worth the wait. With as many different option as there is, everyone in the family can find something to eat, even my four year old who tries to use the chopsticks, pokes happily away at pieces of chicken with one stick and eats. Here’s to hoping Kings stays open for quite a bit longer because it never gets old to us!

I don’t know why I even come here, maybe because no one could decide on where to go and it seemed easy. The food hasn’t changed, mostly junk and fillers. The Mongolian Grill was decent & I love the Mushrooms… But one thing has definitely changed, the price has gone way up. Now they even charge for your drinks now, I didn’t think buffets charged for drinks, «price included» right? Yea, I wont be going back. :/

Heard about this place on TV and thought I’d try it. First off I am not a big fan of ALLYOUCANEAT. Because normally for the price of all you can eat I don’t eat that much. But for 10.99 lunch I was able to eat my share. They had everything from PIZZA, chicken nuggets to octopus. Fruit bar, salad bar, dessert bar, sushi bar… The only thing I would give a hint to everyone is that you do not get your own drinks. Yes they are all you can drink but the server comes over to ask you what you would like to have. (Me on the other hand and NEVER being here before, and the soda and drinks are in the middle of the restaurant I went right over to get my tea. LOL, and I was a little upset that there was two servers filling up cups with ice and taking to long… DUH… NOW I KNOWWHYTHEWERELOOKINGATMEFUNNY.)

Ok been here a few years back and it was awful, but went today with family and friends. It’s an inexpensive chinese buffet. The sushi there(California rolls) were not bad. The rolls with raw fish on top was chewy so I spit that one out. The rice on the sushi was cooked nice. The chow mien was good, the fried rice was good. The clams were good also, but every other one had a hard piece inside. Hey it happens even at the nicest restaurants. The stir fry where you can pick you meat and veggies and they stir fry it for you was great! My husband loved that and so did my mother. And that’s saying a lot from my husband because he always said this place was all you can chew instead of eat. Mom tried the king crab legs and said they were pretty good. So yeah. Maybe not the most authentic, but for the price it’s pretty good. Let’s stop being soooo harsh.

I could have sworn I reviewed this place years ago, but either I’m growing senile in my advanced age, I imagined the whole thing, or Unilocal’s database purged it for me… Food and atmosphere are what you’d expect a large volume Chinese buffet. They’re almost always busy, so items turn over quickly(a good thing). They’ve got a large variety — a small sushi bar where they’re producing a few rolls and nigiri buffet style, two islands of hot foods, an island of cold foods and condiments, and the random chicken nuggets and pizza to round out the buffet items. They’ve also got a bar with items for their take on a Mongolian BBQ, as well as a few desserts and soft serve. Overall, a solid value. Service can be a bit spotty — they’ve got a large drink station in the middle of the main dining area, but it’s not self-serve, though it appears to be, and the servers bring you your beverages. Last time in I had a bad enough service experience that I walked out. .. I went in around 2PM on a weekend for a solo, late lunch. Greeted friendly enough, and they walk me to the second seating area they have, and the hostess apologizes after she realizes the table she took me to still needed to be wiped down, and asks me to sit at another table. I smile and say no big deal, taking off my vest, hanging it on my chair, and fiddling with my phone to check in. I’m still standing, when a gentleman comes up to me and asks me if I can move to another table, and points to one across the room. I’m thinking okay, no big deal, and do so. I’m still standing, wanting to order some hot tea before I go to the buffet, when the original waitress comes back and asks me if I can move again. I’m getting a little fed up with being shuffled around this room, and when I see she’s leading me back to the first table(that’s now been wiped down), I decide that’s enough and politely let her know I’m going elsewhere. Granted, I was in a bad mood that day, but getting asked to sit at 3 different tables 4 times before I’ve even started eating seemed absurd to me that day, and was enough for me to walk out of there. I get there’s a language and cultural barrier, but they’ve been in business long enough to realize that asking a customer to move after seating them is a bad idea, let along to do it two more times. Food is three or four stars depending on lunch/dinner and what the turnover has been…definite one star service experience for my last«visit». ..
