You have THEWORST customer service I’ve ever seen in any restaurant. I’m a die-hard sushi person. You have good food, but why does that matter when I just sat there for 20 minutes and not one waiter even looked towards our table? I will gladly spend my money at your competitors today as I left due to how neglecting your servers are. Get this straight or run out of business. The beauty of a competitive market.

They did not have a chef working that shift. The wait was 1 hour. I have eaten before and the raw fish is not great. Go for the tempura!

1. Waiter spilled the soup all over the table plus some on my father .(keep in mind they still charge me) 2 .i didn’t order the all you can eat price instead I ordered the ala cart; and the waiter told us we hve to wait for our food cuz the chef doesn’t want to serve us all the food at once. Wtf is that ! We waited 15 mins for every food . 3. Gave us the wrong order, another table order 4. Waited 30 minutes for 2 sushi rolls(I only ordered 4 rolls and 2 only came out) and it never came, my quail egg shooter so I decided to cancel — I had to walk up to my server because he was no where to be found 5. When I got my bill, they didn’t even bother checking but still charge me for the food I didn’t receive and charge me double for the soup that they spilled ! 1 star for … Because you can’t give 0 stars.

Sad that they changed their ownership and some of the rules and items on the menu but it still is an awesome restaurant and good sushi! Reggie really took care of us and kept us happy last time I went in with a big group, one of the best servers I’ve ever had!

Food was good but not great. Service today was a complete fall. I had to raise my hand to get the waitress to come to the table for a second order. Waitress never gave us an update on our original order(which was large). Second order never arrived. We waited easily twenty minutes after placing the order before we collectively decided we needed to get back to work. In total we spent an hour and a half in the restaurant, received two bowls of miso soup, five boards of sushi and one order of pot stickers for 7 people. Plenty of sushi made it to those at the bar and to other tables inside and out. My girlfriend and I have a gift card which we’ll use next time but then that’s it. There are better places to eat sushi in Reno. Completely disappointed.

The fish is fresh, the sushi is awesome and the chefs are totally cool. They will make custom sushi and the menu items are so good. You need to eat here. #getinmybelly

We used to keep this place in our back pocket. I used to work a really long day, and without a break for lunch, I was 100% ready to gobble tons of food by 9:00 pm… The one problem in this area is –in terms of sushi bars– is that they all close by 9! Except for Reef Sushi & Sake… So, our first couple of experiences were great. We knew the sushi chef personally, he already new our late night orders. His sushi was AMAZING. He would even make us custom orders when we really didn’t know what to try or have next. It was a perfect match… Until he either left/switched shifts. We tried talking up the chef in his place, asking him to just simply create some new sushi, but he refused. We just couldn’t get the great customer service we were used to having, and the sushi just seemed bland. Perhaps it was all a fake, and the sushi was always the same. Without the service we were so accustomed to having, we were discouraged to keep coming back. Maybe one day we will stop back into this joint to see if we can once again experience the superior customer service and creativity we once had.

This was the very worst sushi I’ve ever had. Soup was not even warm, the edamame had obviously been in the freezer for way too long, the rice was quite undercooked, my friend’s vegetarian sushi roll was the diameter of a quarter(because their vegetarian rolls are for dolls?), and the fish itself tasted suspect. I couldn’t tell if they were trying to poison us/serve jokes, or are actually genuinely terrible chefs. It was disgusting. I seriously advise you to find somewhere else to eat.

Delicious sushi place on the scenic truckee river. Service is always excellent and prices are competitive to any sushi place in the town. All you can eat includes appetizers and desserts! Reggi you rock dude. Keep keeping on!

All you can eat sushi?! This places knows how to deliver. I had the pleasure of dining here for lunch and happily waddling out after rounds of sushi, shrimp, and shellfish. Quality is about a 7.5÷10 which is ace for the price. Yeah, service can be a little slow, but hey! We’re all pigging out, so cut the sushi chef a little slack! Ambiance can be kind of fancy if you sit along the river side.

I visit Reno on business regularly and this was 1st time here. I was not sure Reno is the place for fresh fish so I ordered the steamed dumplings and the tempura udon. Both were good. It was lunch and not very crowded but it took a long time to get the food. I assume it is because not many people order udon for lunch. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I will go back when I do not have to watch the time.

I go there a lot, sit at the bar, so when I get the right chef, I get spoiled big time. Mwahahaha. I love just about every type of sushi, so sometimes I’ll let the chef make whatever he likes, and I’ll get a nice big platter full of items that keeps me busy for … well, at least five minutes or so. I’m a fast eater. Good selection of fish. Pretty constant with the presentation. I always have to remind myself to tell them not to put unagi sauce on raw scallops or albacore. That’s totally a Reno thing, I guess. Also, ask if they have the fried oysters. It comes with the meal and they’re freshly fried right there on demand. Sometimes they also have Kobe beef which is absolutely astounding texture and taste. The only downside I have to say is that sometimes attention seems a bit frayed. Whenever I get up to use the restroom I’ll come back and my plate will be gone. Depending on the chef, I might have awesome fast service, where other times I’ll be waiting 10 minutes between orders, regardless of whether they’re busy or not.

I hate to do this, but I am going to have to mark my rating down mostly for the quality of the food the last couple of times we have been there. This time, the fish odor was really strong when we walked in. It has smelled«fishy» in the past, but it was really off-putting this time. Service was good, but it was also not very busy. We had our standard rolls — the Mo’Betta and the Ono. The ono was good(chicken not fish) but the Mo’Betta definitely had a «fishy» flavor to it. The Crab Cakes, which are usually delicious, tasted a bit dry. and the filling seemed bland. With two rolls and the fishcakes, our bill was $ 30. A bit high with what I felt was lower quality. I am planning to give it another try and am hoping this is just a temporary lapse.

I ate here the other day and I wasn’t super impressed. The server took awhile to even get us our water. Some of the sushi was good, the portion size was great. Big pieces of fish on top of the rice and on rolls. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the real crab on top of the fish was not my favorite, it was extremely dry and hard to get down for me. Out of all the places to eat sushi in Reno I will not be coming back to this one. It was just«ok»

Saturday night we had a party of seven. We made a reservation and we all were seated promptly. Our server was so attentive and sweet. We all had the AYCE sushi at $ 28.95 and it was so worth it. We ate nigiri and the fish was perfect. The proportion of rice to fish was perfect. The fish was so tasty and fresh. Joe our sushi chef was so nice, we will definitely will be asking for him in the future. We are the mochi and peach dream for dessert. I recommend the peach dream it is so yummy. The atmosphere was fun. Lots of tvs and people having a great time. We will be back for sure. Looking forward to trying the Paleo options.

If #Sushi is expertly sliced raw fish resting upon seasoned rice, and Sashimi is thicker cuts of raw fish intended to be eaten solo, and maki are long rolls with rice and nori, and temaki are cone shaped rolls of nori and rice, then what the hell did I have for lunch? It was flipping fantastic but apparently it defies all conventional definitions of this very popular segment of Japanese cuisine! Quite the conundrum! The dish in question is the beautifully assembled and absolutely delicious Paleo Lunch Platter at Reef. Three pieces of sashimi(salmon, tuna, yellowtail) resting atop ribbons of daikon radish, «maki»(either togarashi seasoned tuna wrapped in cucumber or yellowtail wrapped in sweet potato, both topped with scallion), and a «temaki» hand roll with cucumber, radish, sprouts and the three fish, all of which come laid out on a beautiful platter. Now I’m used to leaving sushi absolutely stuffed to the gills, pants button undone, and heading for a deep sushi coma. It takes a minute for the food you ate to register with your brain and give you that sensation of being full, so I wasn’t surprised I was content, but not feeling quite full. I thought about ordering another«temaki» but by the time the server came around, I decided I was full. Needless to say I was shocked by that. I mean this meal was a mere fraction of what Id normally consume! Well, the food was so tasty, and seeing all of the beautifully plates food reaching tables around the restaurant, I am excited to eventually get back in a try out the rest of the menu. Reef, it took me a while to get in the first time, but you can count on seeing me again soon!

I’ve said in past reviews that I’m a sushi snob and it’s very true! I’m surprised I hadn’t been to Reef sooner and now I wish I would have. The location is awesome, right next to Old Bridge Pub and close to Campo on the river. The interior was nice and the place was packed, always a good sign. I’m a big Donald nigiri fan(picture I added is of Donalds), most places use imitation crab on top but not Reef! Just for the fresh crab on top alone this place gets a 5 star rating. I also tried other rolls and all were very very good. I will be coming back often and would recommend to everyone and anyone who likes sushi in a great environment and location!
