Head Chef Khun has been around the Reno scene for a long time. I remember him back from Benihana at the Flamingo Hilton! Anyways, he’s no longer doing Teppanyaki. He’s go to guy at Sushi Saki. Sushi here is a nice change of pace from anywhere else in Reno. There’s some usual favorites but Chef Khun is more known for his skills at cutting nigiri. Because this isn’t a large sushi bar like the others in town, he keeps quality in control. My only negative feedback is what he doesn’t control. Servers here always seem lost and pricing is a bit high compared to everywhere else in town. I don’t venture downtown much but if I’m craving for sushi, this is a go to spot.

We came to visit the casinos and really wanted sushi. Stopped here during happy hour, so the AYCE was 24.00. We sat at the bar and the chef was funny and amusing. Our waitress was polite and since it was just before the dinner hour it wasn’t packed. The rolls were excellent. I think my favorite was the Volcano, it was spicy! I would totally recommend this place and when we are in town we will be back!

We decided to go again tonight and found the fish to be amazing again. The rice was seasoned just right. I decided to order the Salmon Popper with habanero and the Volcano roll that includes habanero. All sushi restaurants need habaneros! I had the usual nigiri(hamachi, sake, maguro) and those long rolls. The finishing touch was a salmon skin hand. It wasn’t just salmon skin, there was salmon on the salmon skin which is just the way I like it. Hold the teriyaki sauce if you want. I had no regrets. My go to sushi for sure. Great service, good sake recommendations and if you show your Unilocal check in, you get a free sake.

I never knew this place existed, and I am so glad to have found it. I had a Mount Fuji roll and everything in it and on it was sooooo fresh! Fish would almost melt in your mouth in every bite. I also ordered the Hamachi Kama which just the same was mouth watering especially if youre a fish lover, its a definite must try. Chef Khun is just the best(hopefully I spelt his name right) super friendly, accommodating and just made rolls extra good for our group. Too bad they were out of mussels tonight so I was not able to try it. Would definitely be coming back! Good job El do!

Wow, best sushi I’ve ever had. Hands down… I normally don’t write Unilocal reviews, but between the great service and amazing food I just had to… The servers where all super fun and helpful. They helped me choose from their extensive menu. I was so pleased with every reccomendation. I over heard the chefs with the customers sitting at the bar, they where all laughing and having a good time. The whole environment was relaxing, and joyful. I got all you can eat, and I ate all that I could… The deluxe nigiri hit the spot, the Elororado roll and the Spicey tuna crunch where my favorite for sure. Give them a try! Best in Reno no doubt!

I will say a VERYNICEATMOSPHERE! Its just the variety of sushi on menu didnt make it for me. I had to have them add this and take out that… normally other sushi places have several rolls i like with the type of ingrediant combos i like. But other than that. Great service and ambience.

In the Bay Area all you can eat sushi goes for about $ 25 but it is mostly cheap small rolls with a ton of rice. You won’t get that here that’s forsure! The rolls were very interesting and tasted great. THe nigiri was also super fresh! Way fresher than and ayce sushi place I’ve been to at home. They also have all you can eat dessert which was so shocking to me. They don’t offer this at any other place I’ve been to. So overall great fish and great service for such a small place. Thank you chef Michael for the great sushi!

Ok, so I’ve been coming here for a few years now and I will say it is my favorite place. The waitstaff have become my friends and we now follow the sushi chef, Khoun, where ever he goes. The sushi he is so tender and the flavor a so good. Truly, Sushi Sake had my vote for best sushi in Reno. All the staff make it a point to get to know you. We are regulars and I have always walked into here with welcome arms. They remember my family and inquire about how we are all doing. They know my son can’t have gluten or dairy and make sure he doesn’t get any. The sushi is sooooo tasty. The fish cut to perfection. The chefs can customize a roll for you or recommend one to suit your tastes. For a restaurant in a casino they are fantastic! They don’t discriminate against kids and the sushi is amazing. Check out Sushi Sake the next time you want sushi!

The price can’t be beat all you can eat sushi for $ 27.00. Sit at the bar get the sushi chef to roll you some favorites ! After the 4th roll you can’t wait to have a breather. Don’t load up on appetizers. They are just filling space! Service staff are friendly and will get you seated right away. They are attentive to your needs. Talk to the sushi makers tell them what you want and they will add to it. Generous ginger and wasabi for you. Pair it with a bottle of sake or wine and you got your self a party…

Really shockingly good. I mean, it’s all you can eat sushi like 1,000 miles from the ocean, so don’t get your hopes too high, BUT… 1) Actual Japanese sushi chefs 2) Fantastic service. Fast, friendly, accommodating. 3) Totally solid/edible/tasty sushi. 4) A very, very reasonable price tag. Really, hit every note. Even a silver service with coffee, very classy touch!

I usually choose which restaurant to eat but this time my boyfriend wanted sushi for dinner so he recommended we do all you can eat sushi at Sushi Sake in El Dorado. Saturday $ 27.99/person all you can eat. We had several rolls in which I can’t remember the names but the one I really liked was Sage rolls. All was really fresh and quite decent. They have a variety of rolls to choose from so if you’re still feeling hungry, ask for the menu again. Environment– Small but with a great view of the indoor fountain. Service– It was alright. The lady who assisted us was not very upbeat or very approachable. Like she didn’t want to be there and at some point I would catch her with her phone texting. That’s very unprofessional. There was one Asian guy, he was really attentive. He gave us some of our sushi rolls and explained which roll it was. That was very helpful and appreciated. I liked how he delivered the food with a smile and asked us 5 minutes later for an update or what we think of the rolls. He’s an example of good hospitality. Overall, if my boyfriend wants to eat here again, then I will come and dine here.

The sushi was delicious and fresh. My friend and I shared four rolls and the portions were so generous we could not finish, however the service was so bad. We sat down and ordered drinks, they came in approx. ten minutes. Then we ordered the salads. We waited and waited and waited, about twenty minutes later the sushi came but no salads. The waiter said, oh I’ll bring you the salads. We said, no thank you, the idea of an appetizer is to have something to eat prior to your meal. Then the waiter never returned throughout our entire meal. We had to track down another waiter for water and our check. I would have given a fourth star if the service wasn’t so bad. I think the problem was that our waiter was also serving diners in another restaurant at the same time. To me that is not a good thing.

OK, so were trying to find a new«favorite» sushi place. Sushi Saga(Siena Hotel) closes June 30th. Looks like the hotel is going to be a Marriott Rennasiance — no casino. Initially the staff thought there would still be a sushi restaurant but now know they are out of work on June 30. To bad… great restaurant… great staff. So we’ve been to Sushi Sake before(Eldorado Casino). The sushi is pretty good. The service tonight — no so great. Maybe its because we were«at home» at Sushi Saga and they treated us right. Tonight we seemed to be sitting in no man’s land — sushi chef to left and sushi chef to right. We were only the second group to arrive — so sushi chef to the right came over to take our order. Soon 4 men came in and sat by chef to the right and we were abandoned. Sushi chef from the left finally came over and finished our order and was again attentative since he had no other customers in front of him. Listen up wait staff — most women are better tippers — unless they feel snubbed or abandoned as we did tonight. Don’t get me wrong the sushi was good. Except maybe the gyoza. really!!! deep fried and huge as dumplings … gyoza is usually with a thinner dough and only lightly fried or steamed. We’ll give it another try but not sure it can be a favorite. Feel like I’m eating in a hallway and the music from Roxy’s bar is extremely loud.

This is a small little place and the chefs are servicing Roxy’s restaurant as well so depending on how busy both places are there might be a little bit of a weight but the fish was fresh and tasty. The salmon sashimi was excellent, and all the rolls were ordered were really good. Nothing super impressive but good and not everything in the menu was fried like some sushi restaurants.

We ate here twice on our trip and I wish we could have worked one more time in at least. Service here isn’t the very best but get a seat at the bar and you are in for a treat. The Sushi chefs were so amazing and only thing better was the sushi. We live in Seattle and often get great sushi, I can honestly say this was even better! Oh my! It was SO good. Our favorites were the Ex Girlfriend and we loved the Boss. It was the Best! Prices were reasonable and the sushi was amazing. I highly recommend Sushi Sake. You won’t be sorry!

Slow service, less than half the menu of any other Ayce sushi establishment, & SHELLFISHPOISONING!!! Imagine having to drive 4+ hrs home to California & having to stop every 25 min in search for a restroom. Not a fun experience. As I ate that last mussel, I had a bad feeling I would end up paying for it, as they were a little too warm meaning they might’ve been sitting around for a while. Staying far away from this place next trip to reno.

Wow! What a great value! What an amazing staff! My husband and I were looking for a place to eat and watch the Mayweather fight. Not only did they have the fight, they also had a $ 26.99 eat-all-you-can deal that included apps like baked mussels to specialty rolls and desserts! We were surprised and delighted by how much food was available abs delicious! Although tools like .My Ex Girlfriend and the G Spot were good, the agedashi tofu rocked by world in its deep fried simplicity. The staff, particularly Glenda, was absolutely friendly, gracious, accommodating, and all-around awesome! Literally planning a trip to go back soon.

The word sushi refers to the seasoned rice used in making one of the most ubiquitous foods in Reno! While the rice is cooling, the sushi chef fans and adds a sweetened rice vinegar seasoning to it, and this seasoning is meant to accentuate the flavors of certain fish served over it. Having only eaten sushi in Reno for a long time now, I have just about completely forgotten what great seasoned sushi rice is supposed to taste like, and settled for the good sushi rice our restaurants use. Well the other night that all changed, when I was served properly seasoned sushi rice perfection at Sushi Sake in the Eldorado. It was so good it just about punched me in the mouth! When Sushi Sake opened, they received a lot of attention because of the head sushi chef’s intensive training. Interviews and articles touted his desire to do things the traditional way, and there was a specific emphasis on the rice. Naturally I wanted to try it out, but unfortunately I left a bit disappointed for a handful of reasons. Well, I’m super lucky that a friend of mine invited me to join them for dinner this past week, because let me tell you, this is some good sushi! The rice is cooked and seasoned perfectly. You can tell because you can see, and almost feel the individual grains loosely held together by the starch, and the sweet and tangy flavor of the vinegar comes through in every bite. I never thought I’d wax poetic about RICE, but this stuff is really good! The menu here is smaller than others, with simpler and well thought out options. I tried nigiri and 3 rolls, my personal favorite being the Dynamite. Usually a roll by this name has a long list of stuff, but here, it’s just fresh salmon, habanero, green onion, wrapped in nori and some of that awesome rice. The sweetness of that rice cools off the clean heat of the habanero making for a fantastic bite of food! I keep saying it, but it’s all about the rice! It’s the reason I also liked the eldo roll, nigiri, and salmon skin handroll! I wonder if I’ll dream about that rice tonight? I’m certainly tasting it again now. Sushi Sake is only open for dinner, so plan around that!

Some of my favorites: salmon skin roll, dynamite(no habaneros for me), Nigiri: sake, unagi, like most all you can eat sushi places it had its pluses and minuses. I’m allergic to shellfish, eggs, etc, so it was nice that they were able to make rolls without crab, egg, mayo, shrimp, etc you simply needed to write it on the ticket. The prices were higher than listed on the website by one or two dollars. Needless to say we ate enough sushi to be followed by what I would fondly refer to as sushi coma, so most things were pretty delicious. Overall it was a-okay so 3 stars.
