Went there on 07÷13÷11 and was surprised to see that they were changing things up a bit. They went from a good fast food burger place to a gross sit down restaurant. The employees were extremely friendly and welcomed you the minute you walked through the door. I ordered to-go and with their sit down policies that meant I would wait 15 minutes to get my food. I agreed and they had the food out in about 10 minutes. Fast and friendly, which I liked. I started munching on the french fries the second I got into the car. They were cold and hard(like they had been sitting somewhere else for awhile). I got home about five minutes later and opened up the hamburger which looked excellent and the first couple of bites were good until I got into the lettuce. I opened up my bun and the lettuce was wilted and orange YUCK! I took the lettuce off but the smell of rotten produce lingered and I had to throw the rest of it away. Their original concept was great but I assume they weren’t making the money they wanted to so they changed it up. It’s awkward now and I don’t know that I would ever return. I told my friend about it and she had the same experience. Would hate to see them close but unless they bring their food quality up and open up their drive thru again I don’t see them lasting.

Heard some rumblings about this place but since moving from NW Reno several years ago not usually in the area. Visiting a friend in Somersett yesterday and decided to stop by on our way home. Went with sodas and standard burgers. I liked the idea of the island chicken burger(swiss, pineapple) but when I asked if I could have a burger with those toppings instead of a chicken sandwich the waitress just stared at me. We went for two cheeseburgers, one with bacon, curly fries and onion rings and the respected sides. I like burgers but a half pound burger is a tad bigger than my hunger level so there was a decent amount left at the end. Flavor was ok on the burgers. Bacon was excellent however — crispy and smokey. I’m glad I got the bacon cheeseburger because the plain cheeseburger really needed a kick of something. Onion rings were good. Curly fries were excellent. Problem — they taste exactly like Arby’s fries but at a higher price. Perhaps if I was in the area again, uhm, no, nevermind. I’ll just pass on a return visit. If the prices were lower the quality and flavor of the burgers would be ok… for the price point, my taste buds and wallet doth protest.

On my way out of Reno my fellow travelers and I stopped by for a quick lunch. We went to the counter to order but much to our surprise we were asked to be seated. Once seated we waited for the waitress to take our order. We waited… and waitied… and waited. She never came around… After 8 minutes we left. The place wasn’t even that busy. The only reason I gave this palce two starts instead of one is because the food did look pretty good.

Drove over to this side of Reno to try this out after hearing frequent radio ads. Tried a «Tahoe Twin burger($ 3.25) with double cheese($.78) and Avocado($.99) and order of fries($ 1.99). The thin/stringy fries were heavily salted as others noted, but was a generous serving that could probably be shared among 2. The double-cheese burger was OK but a bit on the dry side, and definitely did not resemble anything close to the pictures on the freeway signs. The avocado helped abate the dryness little bit. Service was OK; not super fast as even though I was the only one inside at the time still had to wait a bit to give my order. I was not wowed enough to want to go out of my way to come back, but if I happened to be driving by or in the area I might stop by again to try the mushroom swiss burger(it looks good in the foto) and the sweet potatoe fries, which I am curious to try sometime.

this place is nice if your craving fast fresh beef. the best thing on the menu is the mushroom swiss burger — yum. I took points off for drink size and price and the drive thru wait. If your going to stop by go in. I don’t eat the fries but my sister likes them. Tried a small chilli :) and if you like thick bad for you chilli this is the place– it taste awesome but you can tell your gonna regret it. good menu variety and pricing is good — e’hem except for drinks

3.5 stars, rounding up to 4. Burgers are almost on par with 5 Guys. Mine were hot off the grill, so I’m wondering about the cold food reviews. Patties are large, so the Tahoe Twin was quite filling for a med-large appetite. Cheese was properly melted on the meat like it should be. They mixed up my order, but were quick to make it right. Shakes are tasty and BIG. Shoestring fries are a nice change of pace. Agree with other reviewers, they were over salted. I’ll be back next time I’m in Reno. Ya’ll got some picky a$$ reviewers here in Reno huh.

Really good burgers and service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Clean bathrooms. Salty ass fries but they good.

Finally got around to driving up to Rob Drive to check this place out. I really wanted to like this place, but I couldn’t. The burger was small, thin and greasy and not so tasty. With how much I spent on the dang thing I was excepting a big burger. I was thoroughly disappointed. We also ordered some chicken wings because it was a special they had going on. They were ok, but were serves cold. It like they had them out and dipped them in hot BBQ sauce. Totally not worth the drive up there. :( The reasoning for the two stars is because of the décor inside. It was nice inside with a cabin feel to it.

Second time here. I tried it 9 months ago. It was lousy then… and even WORSE this time! Run far, far away from this place. Overpriced, over-salted, over-greased food and poor service. Unbelievably disappointing and embarrassing. Not only did they get the order wrong, but the food was lukewarm at best and the small shake could fit inside a dixiecup. They say it’s a burger with altitude. Does that mean one has to be high to enjoy it? My advice is to drive to In-n-Out, pay half the price and get twice the burger and better customer service. If you go here, bring extra cash, tums(or rolaids) and some gas-x.

Just to mix it up, I checked this place out on the way to work. I got their Reno burger because it sounded good. It took a while to make, in part because they were overworking their extremely helpful and quick cashier(I had to wait to order a bit). The interior has a canoe hanging from the ceiling and other sort of fun, sporty décor as well as a lot of nicely finished wood, a bit like a cabin. In addition it has a lot booths like a burger joint. The view from inside and the outdoor seating area is nice too. They also have a variety of beers, many decent and wine that you can also get. I found my burger to be on the small side and unremarkable. It’s tough when you’ve had a lot of good burgers. It was good, but really a 3 on the standard burger scale(McDonald’s a 1, Jack in the Box a 2, Carl’s Jr a 3 – 4 and Barney Burgers, Luka’s a 5). The fries were okay too, certainly good, but still kind of not exciting. It was also a bit on the expensive side for a pretty ordinary burger. I could see getting talked into a place like this on occasion after work if I lived nearby because I did enjoy the atmosphere and freedom to drink. I got the vibe many people were there under those similar circumstances.

This place is down the street from my house so i have gone to this place a few times throughout the past year and have found the food and service to be a disappointment. I respect that reno locals are trying to give us another choice besides McDonalds, but this place is terrible. If you order anything in the drive through you should expect to wait at the window and in line for 10 to 20 minutes. The costs of their food is not competitive for the product that one receives. The food is ok, probably not the best burger I have ever had, but the meat quality is good. The major disappointment is the food comes out cold and there is not a lot of quantity for your dollar spent. Additionally the service at this place stinks! When you are ordering through the drive through and the person taking your order calls you dude and man, this is kind of unprofessional and disrespectful. I would recommend going to in and out or the awful awful if you want quality and quantity for a better price.

I’ve been here 3 times and I’m not sure why. The first time, about 1 month after opening, the food was pretty good and the burger tasted fresh so I was somewhat encouraged by my 3-star experience. But the following two times my burger was luke warm, the cheese wasn’t melted, and the fries were room temperature. I also noticed their bacon was paper thin and had been cooked hours before being served. A fast food burger from Carl’s Jr puts this place to shame, and for a cheaper price! There is just no reason to operate a burger shop if your burgers suck, and these ones suck. I wish it wasn’t so but they need better help, a better concept and better quality control procedures. The dining area is well appointed and the tv’s are nice but other than that this place is a total disappointment.

So-so burgers for the price. There was really nothing special about them. I will comment on the onion rings, though. They weren’t half bad. I have an overbite and I liked the fact that I could bite into one and sever it without pulling a white hot onion out of the coating where it would flop down and blister my chin. This seems like a good opportunity to make some special burgers but there’s really nothing special about them except the price.

I don’t have much to say. I wouldn’t eat here ofter but I live up this way so I’m bound to at least once or twice. The truckee burger was tasty and worlds better than the bacon cheese burger at Fuddruckers. Basically, my only comment is that this place is way way better than Fuddruckers, and slightly cheaper.

I like this place, I liked my burger, I loved my fries and the staff is nice. You can even get a beer here. I am not sure why people are complaining about a messy burger… oh well can’t please everyone. I have been through the drive though three times, always quick. I have been in the facility once and it was clean with a themed-décor and I received my order quickly. Almost forgot to add… This place is 10 times better than Burger Me.

Ok this is my first review for Tahoe Burger. Because of the nature of the beast… I will probably be doing at least one follow up review. Ok so I ordered the Tahoe Burger cause hey you gotta go with the namesake if you are gonna really try a place. My wife got the Reno Burger. Both burgers were pretty much standard burgers. Not a bunch of flavor but not bad either. And yes they were a bit messy. The fries were good. Well according to me anyway. My wife only likes the big steak cut type of fries. Well this isn’t her review is it? The fries were good. Not the best but good. Atmosphere was good.

We decided to try it today even though we live out in Sparks. I was surprised at how good it was despite the negative reviews. I think I’ve come to one conclusion, the bad reviews are probably people who wanted more than a fast food burger joint. This is by far up there with In&Out the prices were great. The service was great. The meat had a different taste to it, not a bad one just different. We will for sure be driving back to that end of town to eat it again. It was superior to eating fast food chains but at a fast food price.

Okay. I’d eat here if I was in the area but I’m not driving out to northwest Reno just to eat here. I got the mushroom cheeseburger and I didn’t like it, actually, I didn’t like the cheese or the mushrooms. But the burger seems nice. The fries were okay. The milkshake was maybe the best part of the meal. They have sloppy joes for $ 2 each and that might be pretty cool. I’ll try that next time.

I hate fast food but since fiancée is obsessed with this place, we end up there quite often. Also it’s the closest food establishment to my house. Ok, I lied, it’s not all his fault, I am secretly in love with the Truckee burger($ 4.99). It’s a bacon cheese burger and the crispy bacon is so big it hangs off the sides on the burger(which is on the large side anyways). The Mount Rose burger is a mushroom-swiss dealy($ 3.99) that is also oh-so-satisfying. I wouldn’t bother with anything else on the menu. These two miracles of burger science are worth it, and if you think about it, they aren’t much more expensive than a big mac(which sucks) or In n’ Out(which sucks slightly less). I don’t know if it’s because Tahoe Burger uses local beef or what but their burgers actually have discernible flavors other than grease. And they toast the buns on the grill, as it should be done. For someone who doesn’t particularly like burgers, this place does it for me. It’s a nice treat. Sometimes the drive-thru can be pretty f*ing slow so minus one star for that. Also their fries are way too salty. I’d give it 3.5 stars if I could. Overall, worth a try and a nice alternative to those awful fast food chains if you’re in my ‘hood.

They are right in between fast food and a sit down Burger joint in all aspects. Price, Décor, Quality of food. My review is rounded up, I’d really give them 3.5. You order at the counter just like a fast food joint, but they bring you your food to your table. The counter girls were friendly but sort of flustered(it was really busy). I had a mushroom swiss burger and it was quite large. I think I paid $ 5.95 for the combo with refillable drink + pouch of fries. The burger used real swiss, not processed cheese and the meat patty was quite hearty, probably 3x-4x the size of an IN-and-Out patty. The beef tasted fresh but was a little lacking in seasoning. It was cooked well, the bun soft and the cheese melted through, I did not care for the mushrooms. They use canned mushrooms, which I hate the texture of. I also wish the meat was cooked over a hotter surface as I like a crisp crust like In-and-out. The fries were thin cut and crispy, most likely prefrozen(they reminded me of McD’s). Overall I think it was a decent meal, especially for under $ 6. My mates had the fried chicken sandwich combo and a bacon cheeseburger. I was told the chicken sandwich was tasty, but probably also a frozen and out of a bag. The bacon cheeseburger eater actually complained that his burger was too bacony! as if there could be such a thing. lol. Next time I’ll try that, but I likely would not drive across town to do so. If I’m in the neighborhood it’s cheap, fast, and filling.
