Just tried this place last week. I kind of have mixed feelings about it. Don’t get me wrong the sandwich was super good. I got an 8inch turkey and bacon on Dutch crunch. The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because the sandwich was $ 18. I’m not a cheap person by any means but holy crap. No 8 inch sandwich should almost be 20 bones. That’s just friggin insane! However, if you wanna go and spend a bunch of money on a sandwich, do it at this place. The bread was amazing! Not impressed at all with the bacon. Looked like that kind you microwave. Honey mustard was great. Just way over priced.

I love me a gas-station sandwich place, and I’m always excited when I find out about another place to check out. Some training I had to do down at Renown South Meadows gave me a great opportunity to investigate The Sandwich Factory. If I could rate the place just on their sourdough bread, they’d get an 11. It’s amazing. Slightly oily, crispy, sour-doughy bread deliciousness that deserves a medal and is in a class all of its own. But the sandwich itself(I got a french dip) was just okay. I guess part of the problem is that I’m a regular at a gas-station-sandwich eatery competitor and it just wasn’t as good. The meat was tender and flavorful, but there wasn’t very much of it. Some of my sandwich was just bread-on-bread, which doesn’t not equal sandwich deliciousness. For a fairly pricey sandwich, I guess I’m just expecting a little bit more. I want to have to exercise my jaw muscles, if you know what I mean. The sandwich was good, just not something that’s going to keep me coming back for more. Sidenote, and I understand that lots of companies do this – it makes me sad that in this day and age of eco-responsibility, places are still relying on styrofoam cups for their soda. The earth cries every time they sell a soda.

Love it when you can find the best food in the most unusual places. This great little sandwich shop nestled inside the chevron gas station. They even have a few tables for you to dine in! The bread is amazing and fresh! Occasionally they will have samples out of their deserts… I am in love with the brownies. My go to is the Californian, full of fresh veggies and I get it on jalapeño cheese bread for a little spice. Monday is double punch on their rewards card!

Just flew in from Miami and stopped here for a highly recommended sandwich. Don’t let this gas station restaurant fool you. They make great sandwiches. I had the Max Italian, I must say that this sandwich is full of flavor and the bread, WOW! Delicious! I recommend stopping by to try one of their sandwiches.

Love this hidden gem for a quick lunch. They make all sandwiches to order, and have a ton of toppings, a variety of fresh deli meats, and numerous types of fresh baked bread. Because I work close by, I find myself in here once a week(and sometimes twice). I guess you can call me a «regular» because the awesome and friendly staff know me by name and also know my order. They know exactly what my usual sandwich order is, which includes allowing them to surprise me on the bread choice. Whether they choose plain or jalapeño cheese, I’ve never been disappointed; all the bread types are great [but I think I like the Dutch crunch the best]. The next time you find yourself in the South Meadows part of Reno, and you’re looking for a lunch spot, seek out this sandwich shop [it’s in the Jackson’s gas/convenience mart]; You will be happy you did.

My go –to place for sammies on the South end. I love their system! Grab an order form, select all your yummies, hand it over, and wait for the goodness. Don’t let the gas station location fool you. These people make their own bread and everything tastes FRESH. My go-to sandwich is Egg Salad on dutch crunch. Egg salad is always a gamble. Your risking bland, over mayoed, and even worse — that«I could have made this better at home» moment. Not here! It’s so tatsy I haven’t actually branched out to try anything else: D The sandwich makers are great at what they do and quit personable as well. Do yourself a favour and get one of their punch cards. OH! Monday is double punch day!

Can I just say I died and went to sandwich heaven!!! This is Absolutely the BEST sandwich place I have Ever eaten at!!! The bread is unreal(I had the Dutch crunch), the size is enormous. I got a medium which I can eat for 4 meals! Fresh meats, tons of veggies to choose from. It is located in the gas station right next to Sierra Gold. I have lived in this area 6 years and never knew it existed! Forget the chain places right by or the deli down the street that’s leaves your stomach asking«where’s the rest??» I’m hooked and a regular customer now! Only open until 4 so get there early if an out of this world sandwich is calling you for dinner!

I’d like to go with 4.5 stars, only because these sandwiches can get pricey. …but man are they good. The bread is super fresh as are the other ingredients, of which there is a huge selection. The people are friendly, and the service is really good. Did I mention these sandwiches are really, really good — well they are. I like a good sandwich, but usually I am disappointed when I don’t make them myself… with a Sandwich Factory sandwich I am not disappointed. I chose to round up to the five stars as opposed to rounding down to the four stars on the price issue because they have a loyalty program whereby after a certain number of sandwiches, you get one free, and you get a discount if you work at certain local employers. Couple these two things together, and the price(in the long run) is not overly oppressive.

Tried these delicious sandwiches for the first time yesterday and they were so good! We had the Max Italian and the Californian and they were both really good! I preferred the Italian and my husband preferred the Californian. The bread was fresh soft and delicious and the service was excellent and friendly! I highly recommend it!

Really good sandwiches. They have a great selection of breads. My favorite is the Dutch crunch and the pepperocini bread. Great place to get a sandwich on the go.

Excellent sandwich, great service. Inside a gas station! Wow. Lots of choices for build-your-own sandwiches, if you don’t want one of the favorites.

First of all, it’s inside the Shell gas station on the south side of the street. The bread is fresh and soft, the meat is good and the staff is friendly. Make sure to check in for the free cookie too!

In a busy commercial corridor of southeast Reno, a small breakfast and lunch counter has developed a strong fanbase over the past five years. Larger competitors that sell essentially the same thing are within shouting distance, some with lower prices and faster service. What they don’t have is over a dozen varieties of fresh-baked bread, an expansive array of deli meats, cheeses, and toppings, not to mention the option to purchase a 100-ounce tankard of coffee/soda and a full tank of gas. Most filling stations have a convenience store with pre-packaged«food», but only one is home to the Reno Sandwich Factory. Why is it people get so worked up about sandwiches? It is, after all, a meal that just about anyone can make regardless of skill. Perhaps it’s that simple ubiquity that makes a stand-out sandwich so coveted. I have yet to meet a person who doesn’t have an opinion on the subject, and it seems everyone has a favorite sandwich shop they want you to try. It was just that kind of buzz that sent my wife and I into this particular gas station seeking better-than-average sustenance, but what we found was a mixed bag. We hadn’t had breakfast and my wife was fresh from the gym, so I over-ordered a bit and figured on leftovers(three small sandwiches, $ 6.99 each, two cups of soup, $ 3.99). First up was the sandwich everyone told me to try, the Max Italian. A fantastic basil parmesan bread served as foundation for salami, pepperoni, ham, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, sliced black olives and pepperoncinis with mustard and mayo, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. It sounds like a big mess, and it is. A big, delicious mess. The price might seem a little steep for a 5″ sandwich, but the flavor combination is well worth it. You can build your own sub for the same price, so our second selection was a simpler combination of turkey and roast beef on three cheese pepperoncini bread with swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, mustard and mayo, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. Again, the bread was bangin’, but I discovered something odd on inspection. Cut in half, most of the sandwich had roast beef but only one half had turkey. Also a bit of a misstep, there was perhaps half as much cheese on this sandwich. Perhaps someone got a bit rushed? Sandwich number three was perfectly fine if your idea of a Reuben is to place a slice of swiss cheese and a little sauerkraut on thin-sliced pastrami(no corned beef available), warm it just above room temperature in a microwave and serve it on cold marble rye. Typically a Reuben is grilled throughout, insides melted and a little crispy, nestled between slices of rye bread and grilled with butter. An acceptable no-grill option is to place hot meat, kraut and cheese between slices of toasted rye. Further, the dressing shouldn’t be candy sweet. With so many better options on the menu, why include a sub-par example of an American deli classic? I’m unsure whether the soups are made fresh, but someone needs to re-think the clam chowder. it was very watery, with mostly a bacon and potato flavor despite plenty of visible clam bits. Wanting to thicken it up, I crushed the crackers provided and only made it worse. Very stale crackers in a very watery«chowder». Ugh. On the other hand, the beef stew was pretty tasty with tender meat and the right viscosity. Odd that one soup could be so good when the other was such a disappointment. Salads, wraps, breakfast items and fresh baked desserts are available, and despite a couple errors I’ll be back if only to try every bread on the menu.

Sandwich and service lived up to the reviews. The girl that helped me explained the process for build your own but then I saw the French Dip and decided to go with that. The bread was nice and fresh. The amount of meat was sufficient, not too thick. The flavor was good. Upon checking in on Unilocal I noticed a free cookie offer. She came around to the front of the counter to show me my options which I thought was very nice of her. I was going to take my sandwich to go but noticed they had a small seating area so I decided to stay. Good thing I did because I forgot to grab my drink cup and she brought it over to me. It seems like when that happens other places I remember later and then have to go back up and ask for a cup. Service here is excellent. She even gave me a punch card to buy 10 get 1 free. This place is closer enough to work and the service is quick enough I’m sure I will be back.

the best sandwich I have had South reno so far, try the Max Italian. Fresh, real, unprocessed meat, had the 5″ ate half; don’t want to think about how big the 12″ is.

Their sandwiches are always fresh, made to order and made with a smile, this time I had the Reuben and it was amazing. Everything about this sandwich was great.
