Excellent takeout. Got the Bibimbap to go because I live 5 minutes away. Otherwise the fried egg wouldn’t be the best choice to go– eat in instead. A plethora of wonderful sides accompanied this rich dish that was loaded with flavor, textures and umami. Very much looking forward to dining in next time for what i expect to be excellent Korean BBQ.

I had some of this cuisine as catered dishes during a gathering. I was not privy to Korean food before this time. I liked what I tasted. I cannot pronounce any of it. My favorite dish is a rolled rice cake and fish cake in red spicy sauce dish. I will try this place again.

Not the best Korean restaurant ever but 5 star because this is the best Korean restaurant in Richmond. I am a Korean who moved to states 15 years ago and I am big food adventurer So I know how Korean food should taste like but too bad, I am not in Korea AND living in Richmond. I am still mad about how I did not get to try this one famous sea food restaurant by Seoul traine translation when I went back 2 years ago to visit family… Anyways I Tried every single Korean restaurant and this is my favorite Korean spot in Richmond I always come here to get sea food dolsot bibimbap And side dishes are just amazing, not too salty or too blend. Nomz! After meal I always pick up some snacks and Korean foods to take home at the market which is in the same building!!! How convenient!

I honestly do not understand other people’s reviews(probably from non-native Koreans) and can’t give any star for this place. I have been to MANY Korean restaurants in the States. I am Korean and I know my country’s food. I was coming from Florida so it was a long day driving and was looking forward to some comfort food. This place is so appalling that I don’t even know how to start my review. It’s really a big SHAME that this place is «Korean» as, from my point of view, this place is disgracefully distasteful. From Unilocal and the photos I thought I would try this good looking place. Their side dishes looked real in the photos and I never expected that they absolutely had NO taste. They didn’t bother to season any side dishes. «Bibimbap» was so plain that my children ate only a couple of bites. Their«YukGeJang» had only ONE piece of meat in the soup, and their pancakes were undercooked. Their«Jajangmyun»(black bean noodles) which I was so excited to eat. My goodness, I could make anything better than that with my eyes closed. It was utterly not edible. What an appalling dish. Their water smells, and they gave plastic spoons and forks to my children which they would be unable to use for real meats and food if I had accepted. This place needs so many improvements but first of all they must treat their customers better. I have never seen such«Korean» place in my life. Do not recommend you go there. Waste of money and time. We left most of the dishes we ordered. They were. so. Bad. Terrible. Period.

I have fallen hard for Korean food. My first taste was out in LA’s Korea Town. However, since Richmond doesn’t have the massive Korean community that LA does it is harder to find a great place to eat. Look no further though. This place was excellent. I went for lunch, and we were part of only a handful of people there. Even so the staff was very attentive and kind. We got the Mandu and Bibim Bap and both were excellent. Their BanChan was great too. The prices were pretty comparable to what I’ve seen o line from other Korean places in the city. I would encourage anyone in the Cap City to come try this place. The market section is also great and while we were eating there was a steady stream of traffic in and out of the market. Again come try it, I know that I will becoming a regular.

LOVED this place. Excellent food and service. I got the pork belly Korean bbq. It came with about ten expertly prepared sides like kimchee marinated bean sprouts spicy cucumber burdock sweet marinated radishes and more. All were fresh and delicious. The hubby got spicy octopus which was spicy and perfectly cooked. The grocery within the building had a great price on seasoned seaweed snacks. Meant to mention that atmosphere is not formal. It is extremely low key plain whatever. Get over it. The food is delicious.

Definitely my favorite place for Korean food in Richmond… and it was recommended by my Korean friend. It’s not a buffet anymore and I thought it was renamed to Seoul Restaurant. We have eaten at other places, like Garden 88, but I find their service rude and lacking. Happy to have found this place. We’ve been here at least 4 times and service was so friendly each time. The ban chan dishes are my favorites here, much better than other places I have been in Richmond. We ordered Korean BBQ, soups, each time was very fresh and yummy. Price is reasonable too and of course the grocery next door is convenient. The owner/server was very nice!

Not sure about food but it’s not a buffet anymore. It’s a korean market and restaurant now. GA e it five so it doesn’t ruin their rankings.

I had visited Korean Garden down the road a handful of times, but after an aggressively unfriendly recent experience decided to take my business elsewhere. Three friends and I enjoyed dolsot bibimbap, beef bulgogi, and BBQ pork belly at Seoul last night and were very happy with our choices. Both of the servers with whom we interacted were sweet and prompt, the food was abundant and tasty, and we were given an array of six tasty, larger than average bowls of banchan(side dishes). I also really liked that the rice was a hearty mix of both white and brown grains. It’s true that Richmond does not have the same caliber of Korean restaurants as the DC metro area, and no, the Korean places in town aren’t the cheapest($ 15+ for most dinner entrées). For the RVA Korean food scene, though, I think this place is perfectly good and definitely plan to return. Seoul also has a nice, well-stocked little Korean grocery store in the building. They have all my favorite Korean staples at good prices: black sesame, sesame oil, gochujang, nongshim ramen, ready-made kimchi, a variety of rice/grains, seaweed snacks, etc.

Great for Bibimbap and spicy pork On a lazy Sunday, we came over here for lunch to get some Korean food. I’ve been looking for good Korean food in Richmond and this is one of a handful of restaurants. The place is big, great for large groups. Most people that came here were Korean, so it’s legit. The food is a mix of Korean, Japanese, and Chinese food. There’s Korean bbq, a little sushi, tofu soup and a bibimbap stand. I’m a big fan of the spicy bbq pork and the bibimbap. Total around $ 13 for lunch. They do takeout and they also have a little store on the side that sells everything Korean. I finally found the chili sauce that they use for the bibimbap, yes! We also got to chat with the server, who was a pretty friendly guy. Service 5⁄5 Food 3⁄5 Value 3⁄5 Store 5⁄5

Honestly, I was excited to hear from a classmate that there was a Korean buffet in Richmond, so I came to check it out. The price is not bad at all, and there is a pretty wide selection of food. The restaurant is simple, but spacious and clean. Service was fine and the employees are all really friendly. The quality of the food was fine, but I’ve obviously had way better in terms of freshness(especially the banchan) in California. My favorite part was probably the bibimbap bar. There are a few non-Korean hot food dishes plus sushi, ice cream, and fresh fruit. My dining companion didn’t really enjoy his meal(the cabbage kimchi didn’t sit well with him early on), but I was hungry so I ate a ton of food. :P For this price, I still think that Seoul Buffet is a good value, although since it’s a bit of a drive out, I probably won’t be back too often.

We went there for lunch time… zero customers! We should have left… I ordered Soon Tofu soup. The soup looked so old and not much vegetable and no beef. It was written the soup has beef. I asked the waiter and he said no beef. That’s all he said. In their menu, it’s written Soon tofu with beef. waste money and time!
