We were there for the experience, and it was worth it. We sat in the corner booth, under the«living mushroom». Our waiter was great. The service was prompt and courteous, and the portions were generous. I recommend it!

Great menu! I had the Portobello mushroom cap, which was awesome! I like the different sandwiches they offer! And of course, the pizza! Definitely going back to try something new!

Very impressed. Sat outside on the patio, listened to great live music, had great service(I think Evelyn was her name). We had the pretzel appetizer, I love me a good pretzel. The chop salad had raw mushrooms and sprouts and I was in heaven. And the house special pizza was absolutely delicious. Also; Micheladas are my favorite drink, I like them extra spicy, and I’m usually disappointed by restaurant ones(we make them better at home) but this had to be the best Michelada I’ve had from a restaurant. Amazing. Can’t wait to come back.

Stopped in here for Lunch on Father’s day with a group of 5. I was trying to read the Unilocal reviews at the table about the poor service, but kept getting interrupted by the awesome waitress and the fast service. Everyone at the table really liked the tasty food. We actually tried to into Cracker Barrel across the street but the wait was an hour and a half. So we walked over to the MM and we’re glad we did. No complaints, we’ll be back.

I’ve never written a review while still being at the restaurant… Til now. Service is key and can make or break a restaurant. The service here is beyond subpar. We arrived and were told 20min for a table outside, no problem, we’ll get a drink at the bar. Took us 15 minutes to get the attention of the pack of 3 girls who were gossiping together to acknowledge us. Once they did, and our mistake, we ordered complex house cocktail specials. Took another 10min, so much so we were already called for our table before the drinks arrived. When we got to the table my arm stuck to the table by lack of cleaning. Hostess sat us w no cutlery or plates. Ordered an app muffleta cheese bread, 1 lil salad, and the house special small. Muffleta was outstanding. The lil salad came as two. And the pizza was good. Coming from NY I like a thinner crust but it was still delish, would’ve like to try it w the ranch and marinara the waiter offered when we ordered. But like the plates, cutlery and condiments, we never saw it. The food runner continuously came to our table w food that wasn’t ours and he never seemed to know where he was going. The band started out very good, til they asked for 80s only suggestions and then continuously didn’t know any of the songs people shouted out. Too much aggravation. Food is good but until they train their servers I won’t be back.

1st time here. LOVE the atmosphere of the whole place, just a really cool vibe. We sat out on the patio. There was a music duo playing. Ordered side salads, cheese bread, and a medium pizza — ½ Buffalo Chicken, ½ House Special. Both were phenomenal! Our waiter, David, was very friendly and attentive. Since we sat outside, we didn’t get a good look inside, so don’t know what to tell ya there. We will definitely be back!

First off the dough is great. The pretzel app is a good way to start the dinner. Get the bigger one if you are hungry. The pizza choices are diverse and it has been an experience sampling each one.

I have eaten at mellow mushrooms in other states and it was awesome. However, this place is horrible. Twice now I have been there any they have seriously screwed up our orders. On the first visit my stomboli came out very late(my family had already eaten their meals) and it was burned on the outside and undercooked in middle. On my second visit, I decided to make it easy on them and ordered a meatball hoagie. Again my family got their food in stages, and we’re both done before I got mine. Finally I talked to manager and found out they threw the ticket away and never prepared. Some friends of ours a couple tables over had a very similar experience and never got their food. They must do something to fix this service or they will fail. Especially with two new restaurants moving in next door! 5÷21÷16. We finally returned to mm after our last disaster there. I must say they were excellent this time. The place was not as busy so we expected better service. The food was much much better and the service was great. Our food all came out at the same time and our server actually knew what she was doing. I have updated to 3 stars from one. If they continue service on next visit I will update to a higher number.

I came here for their happy hour with some friends from school I haven’t seen in awhile. It’s pretty conveniently located and the outside mushrooms and robot/tin man are really cool! We walked in and were immediately seated. Clearly displayed on one side of the restaurant is a giant chalkboard with all the Happy Hour specials, and they have a separate sheet on the drink menu that sits at the table. I took advantage of their $ 3 margarita, as did the rest of my friends. We each ordered something different! I had the Shrimp Hoag’Boy, which I had to order without the pesto mayo due to a nut allergy. I think had I been able to have the mayo as well it would’ve been better, but it was just dry and hard to eat without it. I was only able to eat a few bites before adding ketchup to finish the half I was eating. A friend ordered a veggie pizza with no cheese, which also tasted okay. The sauce was decent, and it was a thick crust. Another friend ordered a chicken calzone that looked delicious and the rest of the table said it was the best thing we ordered. Our server also seemed very annoyed and she would roll her eyes if we asked for more time to decide on food, drinks, etc. I understand we were taking some time to make decisions, but we were also talking and catching up and it’s just common courtesy to not do that in front of your patrons. I would come back, but only during Happy Hour.

Can’t rate this any higher than a 3 star experience even though the service was very good. My wife got a good deal, a nice side salad and a tasty half Sammy… Italian, for $ 8. My order was where the mellow became harsh, I had the special 10″ pizza, lots of great toppings loaded on top of a crust whose inner half was completely soggy… pointed this out to our waiter and he offered to bring me a new pie… kudos for trying to make it right, but it would be nice if they got it right the first time… another small issue is the pie overlaps the pie pan and touches the table top, if this is a reoccurring problem, wouldn’t it be a good idea to bring plates out with the pie? Not in a big hurry to come back… sorry…used the Unilocal ap to get half off of one specialty drink, we enjoyed a Jamaican Mel Crazy mixed drink for $ 4.

The service was so poor it was almost laughable — I mean«unforgettably we’ll tell this story for years» bad. However the pizza was top notch. We specifically asked for no onions on our pizza, were assured by the waitress it wouldn’t have any. Nearly 30 minutes later when the pizza finally arrived, the waiter assured us the pizza had no onions on it and lo & behold it was covered in onions. When we pointed it out to the waiter, his response was«Well, at least we can give them an A for effort!» and he laughed, then he suggested we go on Unilocal and check-in so he could give us a free dessert. What?! You screw up our over-priced meal, then laugh at it and suggest we go on Unilocal?Well, you got your wish… Really getting tired of the hipster, I’m-too-cool-to-do-my-job mentality overtaking Austin. Sorry Mellow Mushroom, you lost a customer. The only reason the review isn’t a 1 star is the food was good.

What an awesome experience! Coming from NYC I have been on the search for a good pizza and I may have found it. Good ingredients and most of all great customer service! Chae rocked, bartender slash awesome food enthusiast! My margaritas were on point and her suggestions were to par. The manager at this location is also very courteous and made sure I would make another appearance here . My half vege half non veg pizza was awesome and I even was brought extra marinara for dipping my fave! Can’t wait to be back for brunch !

I have been to Mellow Mushroom in Virginia many times before when I had lived there. Honestly this Mellow Mushroom blew me away. To the point I didn’t know what Mellow was capable of until I ate here. Anyway, It was a Friday early evening when my husband and I came here. We ordered off the happy hour menu for alcohol. They use to have happy hour appetizers but apparently did away with that. The alcohol happy hour menu was decent and located near a lot of hotels if you need a place to chill out. We had ordered half Holy Shitaki and Thai Dye pizza. The pizza turned out perfectly cooked. Not overdone or undercooked. The service had picked up after we had mentioned we didn’t have water two times. Then the waiter was like«oh sh^T, i need to step up my game». He had even mentioned to us that if you check in on Unilocal you can claim a free cookie sundae. I was way ahead of him on that since I am an avid Unilocaler so of course I claimed my check in item. The cookie sundae was delicious and I had an option to pick my cookie. Who doesn’t love that? I would highly recommend coming here. If you don’t like it, well Rudy’s BBQ is next door.

This is the first time the wife and I have checked out the new place since the Mellow Mushroom moved from the drag near the UT campus. As always, the pizzas were delicious. We love leftover pizza and have different tastes, so we ordered a large philosopher’s pie and house special. My wife also enjoyed a nice bowl of the mushroom soup. However, I should’ve known there were problems when the hostess said there was a 20 minute wait while I observed were multiple open tables. The kitchen seem to be backed up and it took quite a long time for the server to bring my wife’s soup. Then, 51 minutes after placing our order, the pizzas finally arrived. The server was very apologetic but nothing was comped and a manager did not stop by our table. We may go back next time we are in the Georgetown or Round Rock area, but it’s not worth the drive for us from central Austin. With both a Salvation Pizza and Pinthouse pizza close to our neighborhood, Mellow Mushroom isn’t worth the drive to Round Rock. Hopefully they will get the operational kinks worked out of the kitchen.

My husband, a friend and I decided to try a new place for a late lunch and had heard good things about Mellow Mushroom. We arrived mid afternoon so there was no wait for a table and we dug the ambiance of the restaurant. We did agree with other reviewers that the restaurant is kept too cold — I was definitely shivering! Overall the service was a bit slower than expected considering we came at such a slow time and the food was decent but we just expected more for the premium prices. We took advantage of the free bruschetta appetizer through Unilocal which we enjoyed and since it was out first time at the restaurant the guys decided to do a half and half pizza which is a nice option provided to get a feel for what you like. The guys said that they could definitely tell that the quality of the toppings was better than most pizza places but they wished they could taste the sauce more. I ordered a half shrimp hoag’ boy sandwich — the shrimp were plentiful but a little rubbery from being overcooked. The roll was cut across most of the way but then the cook assembled it while holding it side ways which means I would get a bite of lettuce or a bite of shrimp as opposed to a little of everything with each bite. I had to ask the server for more mayo since it was a bit dry. Not horrible but I don’t think I will order it again Looking at the menu I could see this restaurant being a better value during weekday lunch when you can order pizza by the slice at a reasonable cost so maybe we will go that route next time.

No, no, no! The pizza was good, but the price of the gluten free pies was not listed on the menu insert. I questioned the server and she said she didn’t know how much they were, but she could go in the back and ask. I thought it odd that a server wouldn’t know the price of an item on the menu who’s price was unlisted, seems like many people might have asked before me, but whatever. I said, don’t worry, I’d take one anyway, because I know gluten free always costs a bit more and I’m prepared to pay a couple extra dollars to keep enjoying pizza even on a gluten free diet. Well, let me correct that, I THOUGHT I was prepared. Turns out their tiny,(they only offer a 10 inch size for gluten free) gluten free pizza was 20 some dollars!!! WHAT!!! It was decent-ish pizza, but the subterfuge is NOT appreciated! Put your outrageous prices on the menu people! Really, really lame to take advantage of people like that, and ironic since their gluten free menu, the one with no listed prices, proclaims at the top, «Gluten free. You are no longer a second class citizen!» No, now you’re their first class target for a semi-scam. Nice. On top of everything when my friend posted about this on their facebook page, they replied to her saying they wanted to fix it, and then never followed up. Obviously they’re only in it for the dough, and not the pizza dough, unfortunately. I’m never going back.

We’ve been here pretty frequently since opening, and now that they have gotten most of the first opening kinks out I think it’s fair to give a review. We absolutely love the butter and salt pretzels and beer cheese, I highly recommend. We’ve had a couple of the pizzas, pepperoni, kosmic karma, holy shittake, I liked all of them except the kosmic karma(nothing wrong with it just not to my taste liking). I feel that the pizzas are a bit overpriced so I usually only grab a slice during lunch if we stop by. The Caesar salad is delicious I recommend getting the small one unless you’re sharing with 2 – 3 people as its huge! I’ve had a couple of the sandwiches and they’re all mostly good, but haven’t found anything that really stands out. I also enjoy getting a pepperoni and cheese calzone, I feel like it’s one of the better tasting calzones I’ve had. Overall the ambiance is nice, the food is good, and they’ve got a pretty good beer choice. Solid contender for the round rock scene.

Had the calzone. The dough was crisp on the outside and had a nice chew to it. Fresh veggies; good marinara. Shouldn’t have ordered the vegan cheese. It was too sticky and they charge you extra. They use Diaya brand, which seems to be the standard for vegan cheese at most restaurants. I prefer a cashew cheese myself or rather just not any any cheese at all. I’m sure their regular cheese is just fine, but I don’t eat dairy. Service was good; wait staff friendly; and fun atmosphere. There were many people there who were uncomfortably cold. I’m talking hat and scarf weather. I had to take my silver dangling earrings off bc they got so cold from the air. I noticed many customers were cold & that it wasn’t just me so I asked to have the ac turned up. Others around chimmed in agreeing it was freezing. It got warmer for a couple of minutes, but it went back to freezing. I won’t be going back because I cannot tolerate that level of coldness, plus it makes my food get cold so fast. I’m sure the cooks and the waiters appreciate the temperature since they’re working so hard… but not your customers who are just sitting there trying to enjoy a meal.

Got here at 9:00 an hour before they closed. Since Pizza takes 15 – 20 minutes to cook we thought why not. Placed our order at 9:10 and it finally came to the table at 9:35. There was another couple there in the restaurant. So we felt the food should have came out quicker, they were fully staffed in the kitchen from our view. I ordered a Steak Calzone and immediately requested a box when it came to the table. Got home within 10 minutes and took half of it out the box and took a slice and noticed the bottom was burnt. I cut into it and the dough on the inside was raw.

Once a fan… Service was horrible. Haven’t been here since they opened, I was genuinely surprised about the reviews other folks were posting. I ordered two large of their specialty pizza, asked for pepper and cheese. This guy hands me two peppers and two cheese packets. This is common sense to hand someone with TWO large pizza more than two packets. Come on Pizza Hut gets it and you guys can’t? Last thing that pissed me off was the guy told me to fill in the«tip amount». Man I never been asked to do that, this got me pissed. You are not entitled to a tip esp for take out. I was pissed at the pepper/cheese incident I didn’t even think about it for a sec. Gave him a 3 dollar tip on a 50 dollar pizza bill. Should have gave him zero! I will never be back! TRAINYOURSTAFF!
