This is an awesome taco chain down south! I’ve been here twice, I have tried the Democrat, Mr. Salmon, and The Crossroads. My favorite is The Crossroads! You can get your tacos served in either corn or flour tortillas. They have many different varieties, their queso fresco is always fresh and the tacos come in pretty decent portions, I can eat two and be content, but eating three leaves me stuffed! The Crossroads is a brisket taco, it’s so good! Mr. Orange is a salmon taco and is a little bit spicy with the sauce but it definitely still a good option, normally salmon doesn’t go into tacos but Torchy’s makes it work! I tried the Democrat for the first time today, it’d jot as flavorful as the Crossroads but still good, their meats in the tacos are never dry! A taco cost $ 3.75-$ 4, which is a pretty good deal! Definitely a great spot to check out and grab a quick meal, there is also outdoor sitting! Great spot to hang with coworkers or friends!

One of my favorite places to eat and I’m so happy there is a location in Round Rock. The staff is always nice and I’ve never been disappointed with the food!

If all you eat is the guacamole and the queso, then you won’t walk away disappointed, but the tacos for which this place is named are also delicious! My favorite taco is the fried avocado. I love that they have Maine Root sodas, too, since they’re Cane Sugar sodas… no HFCS! We love the kids’ menu, too… My daughter’s favorite is the«Lil’ Devil,» which is a flour tortilla with peanut butter & banana, coated with corn flakes and deep fried, served with strawberry jelly. If you’ve never been, RUN, don’t walk, to the closest Torchy’s near you! This particular location has a LOT of seating, so it’s an ideal location if you have a larger group. No drive-thru here and parking is sometimes hard to find, though.

I have only gotten them to go so can’t speak much for anything other than the tacos… they were delicious.

Kind of a taco meets freebirds type of place. Everything is a la cart but very good.

Um, hello, it’s Torchy’s — how can you go wrong? I guess you could order the fish tacos… it’s weird that that’s even on the menu. Get the queso, get the Wrangler(nothing can come close to the experience of eating a beef brisket breakfast taco), have a beer(for breakfast? why not.) and you’re basically living out my fantasy life. Ooh, and the lines are relatively short at this location.

First time here and let me say it is different. The atmosphere is loud but not overly outrageous. The food is amazing and very fast service

Mad cow isn’t just a deadly disease, it’s also a delicious taco! And I would be more than happy to get Mad cow again! Don’t see Mad Cow on their menu? That’s because it’s on their«secret yet not really secret cause you can find it online» menu. Torchy’s tacos has brought creativity and ingenuity to the southwest diet staple. Sure the place gets busy with a line out the door, but service(in my experience) is pretty darn quick considering. Parking can be a bit of a challenge when it’s busy, as this location is in a tiny smidgen of a shopping center. So come with a friend and while you wait in line, they can circle the parking lot like a vulture. Do yourself a favor and also check out the Little Devil on the kids menu. A fried peanut butter and banana taco with jelly to dip it in, yum! Just make sure to eat it while it’s still warm!

Really enjoyed this place. Great atmosphere at lunchtime, packed, and delicious. Started with the jalapeño queso and it was fantastic… creamy, flavorful, and the tortilla chips nice and crunchy. I went with two tacos… the pork carnitas one and the republican. The amount of pick on the first taco was insane and the flavor a of all the ingredients together made for a powerful bite. Only complaint on this one is that the pork could’ve used more salsa than the little cup it came with… it needed the salsa to cut the greasiness of the pork. The republican was also fantastic. I expected small slices of sausage but the taco was just a whole split jalapeño sausage… surprisingly, it worked really well! If I ever make it back down to the Austin area, I’ll definitely be looking to grab some Torchys!

I was really disappointed with the food quality at this location. It seems whenever a really great Austin restaurant comes to Round Rock, it just, for lack of a better word, sucks. This has Also happened to one of the great Austin eateries, Chuy’s. The actual décor at this location of Torchy’s is really nice and new and hip but the food was not. We had the Baja Shrimp taco on a flour tortilla and I also had the Monk Special. The Baja Shrimp was incredibly salty and the red onions they put in it did not enhance the flavor. The sauce was just meh. It didn’t help much. The Monk Special has always been my favorite at the Austin locations but this one was just not up to par. Flavor was too heavy. The little Martini drink was decent as well as the 512 draft beer. Like another reviewer mentioned, the employees seemed unhappy and slow. Very very slow.

Good food. A little pricey. About $ 50 for 3 adults and a child but worth at least a try. Would definitely come again. Had the Green Chile Pork and Fried Avocado tacos. Green chile was my favorite. Also had the chips and queso which had a nice spice.

My friend was eager to take a break from our smoke-laden tour of Austin barbecue joints, so we opted for some Mexican by way of delicious, fresh tacos from Torchy’s this evening. I got the Brushfire, Green Chile Pork, and Baja Shrimp(grilled), all with flour tortillas, no substitutions. All three were A M A Z I N G. Normal people should probably go with two tacos, most days, not the glutinous three I opted for, as it did cause some pain. But, it was well worth it. My friend went with the Trailer Park and the Steak Fajita tacos, along with beans and rice. He reported that both tacos were incredible, and the beans and rice were FAR from ordinary — both were seasoned very well and quite tasty. Sooo good. Torchys need no introduction. The location had super nice service… from counter to our server. She has us rolling in laughter! Great atmosphere, great tacos, SUPERGREATQUESO. I tried the taco of the month — «The Scarecrow» which was pumpkin seed breaded chicken tenders with roasted poblano peppers, carrots, queso fresco, cilantro & chipotle ranch sauce — on flour tortilla. I was weary as I’m not too big a fan of pumpkins(sorry white people), but I’m glad I tried it out as it was delish! My favorite though is «The Independent» which also happens to be vegetarian friendly! The Fried Avacado is a must try as well. This location also has a full bar with a setup that includes indoor, covered patio, and outdoor seating. Pretty neat. Glad to have this option nearby!

I LOVE Torchys. It’s easily one of my favorite places to eat, and I ALWAYS go when I’m in Austin. I can’t emphasize how much you should eat here(or any of the other locations). When you come here, get the queso. Seriously. If you only get one thing, get the queso. It’s the thing of dreams for cheese lovers or foodies. All of their tacos are amazing, especially their breakfast tacos, the trailer park trashy, the democrat, or the shrimp taco. Torchy owners: please please open a store in DC.

I’ll admit: I wasn’t on the bandwagon before. «They’re just regular tacos and kind of pricey,» I thought. Yes, however these are no regular tacos. They’re made fresh and you can clearly taste it. Plus, the tacos are HUGE. No skimping on any of the toppings, no matter which one you choose. I think part of my problem before was basing my opinion on lukewarm breakfast tacos brought to my work one day(note: bad idea to make assumptions based on this), but going to one of Torchy’s locations and getting them freshly made is a whole different story. I’m a huge fan of the Brushfire: it’s the perfect combination of hot and cold ingredients(warm chicken & mango), spicy and not(diablo sauce & sour cream). Every bite is a dance inside my mouth and I’m sitting here with my mouth watering just thinking about it. There’s almost always a line because the food here is great. I’d recommend getting the queso while you wait, because that comes out almost instantly and is also full of flavor. Dare I say, some of the best queso in town. Next on the list: getting a Torchy’s shirt to show my pride.

I am definitely a fan. LOVE their queso dip. The chips are always fresh and crispy. My favorite tacos are the Mr. Pink and Fried Avocado. We come here often and will definitely be visiting them again.

Best tacos in Texas. Yes it’s tex mex but meet tacos in austin. I don’t care who you are or where you’re from! I could go on and on about the freshness and greatness of each item and every ingredient, but honestly just go eat here and see for yourself because if you haven’t yet you’re doing yourself an injustice.

I heard from a few sources that this place was solid good Mexican food so naturally my expectations were above average. Very friendly staff. Cheap drink specials(no piña coladas). Having a $ 3 tequila sunrise at the moment, do yourself a favor and opt for a top shelf tequila it’ll be worth it. As far as the food I was not impressed. I had the Mr. Orange(salmon taco) and the #1 Breakfast Taco(I’m in love with breakfast tacos). The fish taco was meager and simply meh, there is nothing that stood out flavor wise. The breakfast taco was your run of the mill type. Tried a bite of the Trailer Park(fried chicken) which I liked better. I did appreciate the chunks of avocado in the guac, but still not considered a solid item in my book. Honestly I prefer Whole Food’s fresh guacamole. Blame it on being born in LA but tacos will never be the same for me, nothing has come close thus far in terms of quality, flavor, crave factor, or price of the SoCal Taco.
