Beware of these people. The food is excelent but their business practices are tricky. We just ate there. When you order the lunch special your expecting a deal right? So we ordered 2 bbq plate specials including a sandwich, 2 sides & a drink for $ 8.50 each. The only extra we ordered was 2 servings of cobbler. How in hell do you get nearly $ 29.00 out of that?! We asked about it while paying & were told it was all about the cobbler. Really?

Disgusting! Ordered two big barbecue sliced beef sandwiches. Idiot diced the meat in huge thick chunks. Meat is bland. $ 18 later, very disappointed. Will not return to Dickeys again. Horrible overly priced!

This place is awesome! Love how tender the brisket is and their sweet barbecue sauce is amazing. I would’ve given them 5 stars if they had self serve sides! The Denton location lets you choose the amount of sides.

The girl and the guy working when I visited today were absolutely delightful! So nice to deal with someone intelligent and courteous for a change! The ribs and the chopped beef were wonderful and the sour cream potato salad was really really good! Even my husband ate it and he doesn’t like potato salad! I cant wait to go back!

Not a good location, if you want Dickey’s drive a little further to the Wylie location. I have eaten here 3 times and always wish I had driven to a different location, the food is just not as good especially for the price you pay.

This review is for the Dickey’s located at Dalrock and I 30. I live on a fixed income and can rarely afford something like BBQ, but I received a coupon for a free sandwich for my birthday. My Daughter took me through the drive-thru and I received my sandwich, along with a drink, although there was a misunderstanding at the time. My coupon did not require me to buy a drink to receive the sandwich, but the young lady was so friendly I didn’t mind paying for a drink anyway, especially to receive a very nice sandwich. And it was very nice indeed. Even though it was free, it was prepared perfectly and with a very generous portion of delicious tender meat. When I sent a comment to Dickey’s. com, suggesting that staff should be trained to understand all the requirements of their coupons, but without any complaints about the food, I received a personal call from the manager. She was extremely kind and thoughtful and offered me a second free sandwich for my trouble. She certainly did not need to do that to keep me as an occasional customer. I was not able to get out for a week, but my Daughter did take me by again. I wasn’t really sure they would even remember me, but the moment my Daughter gave them my name, the young lady(the same one) was as kind and thoughtful as one could ever hope for. She prepared another terrific, generously filled sandwich, and then gave me a complimentary large drink and topped it off with a piece of pecan pie. Let me tell you, I’m 67 and have eaten in hundreds of places over the years. I’ve never seen better customer service or concern for a guest. I wish I had the funds to eat there several times a week, but I’ll certainly make it a point to do so whenever I can.

I frequent the Dickies on Dalrock and 30 at least twice a week and do large party orders for games and holidays so I was pretty excited to see this location opening up close to my house. On my first visit I immediately realized that the prices were extremely high in comparison to all the other Dickies in DFW. I asked the person working behind the counter and they told me it was«temporary to pay for the cost of opening the place», I thought this was strange but went ahead and ate. I have since been back several times to see if they have lowered the prices but they have not. I end up walking out and driving all the way to the location at Dalrock and 30. Another time I brought in a coupon from Bakers ribs for a large family pack to see if they would match it(the other locations do), they declined(acted like I was an idiot for asking), so I went to the other location where they gladly matched it. For reference their family packs are $ 5-$ 10 more than other locations. I can’t comment on the loud chopping but I will say the employees could definitely be more friendly and inviting. I won’t be back but I don’t think it will matter as I never see anyone in there so it will end up going out of business.

My Grandmother was wanting ribs and chicken for Mothers Day, but didn’t want to get out in a crowd, so I decided to bring Mothers Day Dinner to her. I stopped in and ordered an XL family pack which features 3 lbs of meat, 3 sides, and 8 rolls. I opted for Chopped beef, Chicken, and Ribs. Sides ordered were Cole slaw, potato salad, and baked potato casserole. The chopped beef was done right and had very little fat with plenty of smokey flavor. The chicken breasts were very good as well and pretty much fork tender, and the ribs were fall off the bone perfect. All of the above meat was great and didn’t require any sauce to be delightful. All three sides were very good and fresh. The price for all of the above was about $ 47.00 and that’s reasonable to me especially when you can actually order any of meats you want without an up charge. Other places in town I have been to charge extra for brisket and ribs. Grandma enjoyed her BBQ and told me it was one of the best meals she has had in her life, so based on that alone Dickeys has just earned a new frequent repeat customer.

It is with heavy heart that I write yet another poor review for Dickey’s. Truly, I have grown up on Dickey’s. My parents worked for Cook paint in Dallas which was next to the original Dickey’s some 40 years ago. We ate there frequently. I don’t like to get on a man’s livelihood but this place couldn’t have strayed further from the original. And I usually don’t make it a habit to comment on others posts… however,… Mike F. is dead on about the flatware and to go style condiments. It SCREAMS of cutting corners to save money, not only in flatware but personnel to run the Hobart and bus tables. It is very similar to my review of Rice Express. Sure there are seats where you can be seated. But there are seats in Tom Thumb and Starbucks but that doesn’t mean that by buying a muffin with my coffee or a sandwich from the deli makes either of these into a RESTAURANT! I just expect more. Even a little bit more. The Dickey’s in the the gas station on Dalrock and I-30 is better. And for two people to give this place 5 Stars is not only ridiculous, it’s downright misleading, disingenuous, and almost un-American. Ok, we are just talking about barbeque so I’ll retract the last one. Lastly, the food. Hhhhhh… where to start? First, all the vegetables are now down behind the solid 5 and a half foot tall wall that separates you from the food. Ostensibly to keep us from having to perform the tortuous task of scooping our own food. More likely, it is to keep us from seeing the gelatinous goo that exists on the top of the sides because there is so little business that they are having to be reconstituted into the dishes before being scooped onto the plates. Gone are the days of the classic cafeteria style(and Dickey’s style, I might add) line where they were not only proud to show you the food they were serving, but might be able to talk you into that fantastic looking piece of chocolate pie or an EXTRA side because I just can’t pick only two between jalapeño beans, loaded mashed potatoes and green beans. Unfortunately, on this trip the only one of those sides that passed the test were the jalapeño beans. Green beans swimming in an Exxon Valdez slick of oil. Potatoes that were so dry they couldn’t be finished. And finally the meat. I can forgive a lot of things if the meat is on the money. I mean, we are talking about a Dallas icon since the second world war! Forget what you’ve heard… Dickey’s has been a staple of this area before Sonny Bryan’s, Angelo’s and others. I have loved them all and still do. But not on this visit. Brisket… dry and flavorless without the sauce. Hot links… shriveled and barely warm. Pork… well, the pork was not bad but also not the best or even the best of Dickey’s in this zip code. Long story longer… please do something about this or stop carrying the torch. This gets a 2star because my brain/heart will simply not allow me to move my mouse far enough left to make it 1star.

This location is great! Where others have failed this one location has won my business. The food is always great, always hot and fresh. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I have read some of the other reviews here and for one the type of utensils used doesn’t make the food taste any different. Second, this is a fast good establishment and you should not expect everything on your table. Keep up the great service.

5 weeks later and the owner still hasn’t started using metal silverware, and still hasn’t placed salt and pepper shakers on the tables, even after saying he would. When you’re eating meat, it’s quite helpful to have metal forks and knives, as the plastic utensils often break. The only thing that has improved is that the deafening chopping was at a tolerable level. How much would it really cost to upgrade these items that any normal restaurant should have in the first place? I mean, there are only about 15 tables in the place!

The Dickies on Liberty Grove is an awesome place. The people are friendly and the food is outstanding. If Guy is there, say howdy! Perhaps he’ll grace you with a lyric or two from his most recent song.
