Wienerschnitzel

This place was within walking distance of my hotel. Got some delish chili cheese fries and a strawberry lemonade. Fast, cheap, and hit the snack spot! The lovely ladies behind the counter were very friendly, not the typical sullen fast food workers here! Wish we had these on the East Coast!

Ordered in the drive thru today around 5:20pm. I asked if I could order a dipped cone but in a cup. The employee said sure. When I got to the window she put it in a cone and I told her I didn’t want the cone. So she dumped the ice cream in a cup and came over and said there is no way to put it in just a cup. I didn’t understand why she couldn’t put ice cream in a cup and pour the chocolate dip over it. I said that’s how I always order it at Foster Freeze. As I drove off I heard her snarky response that I wasn’t at Foster Freeze. If employees want to make rude comments they should be sure the customer isn’t within ear shot. I haven’t been here in almost a year so they won’t miss my business since I have no plans on returning here for any food. I won’t recommend to any of my friends or family.

Go to spot (when I don’t want In n Out) for drive-​thru in this plaza. Workers are polite. Food is cheap. I think their jalapeño poppers are better than Jack’s. It’s a fast-​food chain, so don’t expect gourmet hot dogs. Sucks that it’s not open late.

Food is what you’d expect. I’ve received excellent service at the drive thru every time I’ve been here. Fast and friendly. Whoever is doing the hiring is doing a great job.

The food quality is not that great. I will say it’s always served hot and fresh here. Unfortunately, after trying a few different menu items, I don’t think I’ll be back. For being a «hot dog» place, I would at least expect better quality meats. The Polish dogs and hot dogs taste like they use that cheap chicken/​pork/​turkey combo brand you buy at the store for on sale for 75 cents a pack. Meh.

You can’t really expect much from a fast food retail chain, but Der Weinerschnitzel at least makes available a harder-​to-​find fast food option: hot dogs! They have several different hot dog options (I like getting the Kraut Dog… so german!) and they have many options involving their chili, which for fast food is actually pretty good, albeit loaded with calories and fat.

Whoever thought of putting pastrami on a hot dog and a bagel bun… is a genius!
I keep forgetting this place so close to home (I said this when I reviewed the Baja Fresh next door), but it’s tucked in the corner by the Holiday Inn and Homewood Suites, and I usually only go as far as the KFC. And I suppose I’m used to the typical A frame buildings bearing the Der Wienerschnitzel name. But this place is larger and cleaner than most Wienerschnitzels. It’s good food for a cheap price.

They have a serious fly problem in there.

I rather make my own chili dog… Customer service good…

The last two times I ate at this location were bad. The first of two I got a chili cheese dog. When I opened the wrapper it looked like a mess. It was sloppy and the bun was gooey. I ate it there so it didn’t have time to get this way. While eating my lunch I look over and the gal behind the counter was restocking the ice cream cones and using her teeth to open the package. I didn’t like the idea of her mouth next to all those cones. I pointed this out to another employee because she seemed new.
So I gave this location another chance. My husband and I went there for dessert. I don’t think there was a manger on duty. It was around 8pm and things seemed a little chaotic. Two employees were on the phone and there was lots of shouting coming from the kitchen area. I ordered my ice cream and then waited, and waited. I guess the machine was acting up and no one said anything to us they just made us wait while they filled the cones ever so slowly. When I got my cone it was small and too soft. I don’t think management is on the ball at this location. They should have suggested another dessert to serve us quickly.
