My Boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend and were pleasantly suprised with the customer service. The owner(sorry I dont know his name) was very helpful and very nice. He is on top of his buissness. We arrived at the Red Carpet Inn about 4 in the morning with NO reservation. This was the only hotel around for miles that had a room and the only reason they had a room was because someone did not show up! The rooms seemed very clean but one little detail that bothered me about the cleanliness was under the bed. I check under the bed to see if anything fell under there when we were leaving and all I saw was small pieces of trash and balled up dust and hair. Everything else even the bathrooms seemed spotless. If you dont leave the air conditioner on(which is very hard to sleep with because its pretty loud) during the day it is very hard to make it cool again. But If we are back in St. Augustine again I would have no problem staying here again.

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience! Room was clean, a little worn around the edges, but from all appearances so were most other motels in the area. The«host» was very respectful and solicitous! Anything we needed was provided! Would stay there again. Tour company came and picked us up every morning from the lobby!

Okay… so we all agree that this is not the Hilton! Regardless, my husband and I had a fabulous experience at this inn. The owner was spectacular. He made sure all of our needs were met. The room was clean, nonsmoking, air conditioned, etc. What else could we ask for? We also had a delish breakfast/lunch the next day at their restaurant next door.

To be perfectly honest, the room *looked* clean when we dragged in at midnight. They insisted we see it first before paying. Very kind owner. But, the whole place was so sketchy that I didn’t want to go out to the car alone. Biggest pro: cheap.
