Great food, love the building. Ravioli was a definite must. Coconut rice also amazing!

I do not recommend this place at all. Wanted to take out my girl friend for a nice Friday night dinner and was extremely disappointed. We ordered calamari rings as an appetizer and they were really chewy. I ordered the steak medium and when I got it it was blue rare so I sent it back, side dishes weren’t great either. The bakes potato was sour was for some reason. Also extremely over priced. Came out to about 85 for both of us. No dice on this place. The place is really nice but food sucks

Easily the best Clam Chowder I have ever had. Great service, food came out in a timely manner and it was delicious. Can’t ask for more.

Very spacious interior with very comfortable indoor and out door seating. Brunch on Saturdays in the outdoor patio on a sunny day is my favorite.

Was looking for a place to eat in Salinas and found this place as we were walking on main street. The menu and place looked good so I decided to try it. I ordered Sriracha Salmon, Pasta, and loaded potato. They were all pretty tasty! The loaded potato was seriously loaded to its gills. It wasn’t too busy when we went so the customer service was excellent. The staff came by often to check if everything was ok. The décor of this place feels upscale, especially with the high ceilings and massive glass windows.

I’m a Salinas local, and have been anxiously waiting for this restaurant to improve. So far it’s been disappointing 5⁄5 times. The food is generally good, with a few great lunch dishes. I’ve enjoyed the lunch specials & dinner menu quite a lot. The service is extremely lacking. I feel as if the staff have not been trained properly, if at all. Each time we have come here there have been mix-ups, delays, and a general feeling that the wait staff do not know their product. Don’t bother asking for a wine recommendation, they will not be able to give you a good answer. Also, the orders have gotten mixed up a few times, leading to unhappy diners. And finally… What is wrong with the bar? The cosmopolitan tasted like water, twice. The old fashioned was made with what tasted like margarita mix. And the time it takes to get your drink is noticeable. I think I will not return until something changes. Patria is a better option at this point.

If you’re considering Giorgio’s… Go to Patria instead. Go back to your old menu! Get a solid Happy Hour menu! So sad this place changed, and not for the better. Food is expensive and no longer good. Used to be great.

Well… I had been here 3 times before the menu change. Twice for dinner with a group of people. Both times were spectacular! Once I had a seafood dish with fresh flavor and the second time a delectable pasta. Desserts were a nice touch at the end. Then a brunch a few months ago which was nice and had an eclectic menu. Benedicts are my weakness and theirs didn’t disappoint. The hash browns have a unique flavor to them and the coffee is good. But like other Unilocalers have noted, the menu change changes everything. Let me start by saying the service is fast and professional. We had a no-show and they don’t make you feel bad about it. They checked on us several times and gave us separate checks. I started with the caprese. A standard on most Italian menus. Theirs has four different types of tomatoes stacked on top of each other with the mozzarella in between and the basil on the side. What a great presentation! I think it’s due to the season, but the tomatoes were not juicy and flavorful. I’m sure that’s due to the fact that it’s not tomato season. Otherwise, very good salad. I had the cajun chicken alfredo. The server said they made the pasta in house. I may be unaccustomed to how this should taste. The texture was not as tender as I’m used to … but I see over and over that Unilocalers say pasta should be «al dente» and that most places overcook their pasta. So I believe this was al dente done right. And I didn’t like it as much. LOL. But great sauce and ample chicken. My friends had the sirracha salmon and a pizza. She said the salmon was ok on its own but when paired with the rice, it was delicious. The pizza looks great — it had fresh arugula or some other fresh leaf vegetable on it and was thin crust. They have a pizza oven in the back so I’ll try a pizza next time. Onto the dessert. I remember great desserts and not being able to choose. Now they have 3 choices. Tiramisu, crème brûlée and chocolate lava. I went with the lava and it is extremely rich. I loved it but I had to box most of it. It is really rich. I would come back for business lunches and dinners and it’s a great place for out-of-town guests, due to the atmosphere but I hope they bring back the flavors of the original menu. I will definitely return again for the brunch — it is highly underrated with a unique menu.

Beautiful spot for brunch, and much more affordable than it looks. We sat outside on a sunny day and had brunch and of course mimosas. The dishes were very normal brunch fare, similar to what you would get at first awakenings. Dishes run an average of $ 10 which was really surprising with how fancy the place looks. We were pleased and everyone enjoyed their food although nothing stood out too much.

The good: The ambience is great. I’ve been here before and after the menu change and I can say it’s not what’s on the menu. The food and service are just not all that. Oh well

This place is crap. We Ordered Penne pasta with short rib meatballs and Pork chops with mustard apple honey glaze. The meatballs were store bought frozen and the sauce was basic. The pork chops had no flavor at all and looked as if they weren’t cooked thoroughly. Worst meal we have ever had.

Went tonight looking forward to some fresh made pasta. Not happening! Completely new menu no more Italian food no pasta no polenta. Now it is a steak fish chicken and chop place pretty much. Their baked potato with all toppings really only had a little. Although I had a generous serving of salmon and very fresh cooked just perfect string beans the rice with cilantro was overlooked. The last meal we had there was really good off the old menu but this new menu has a lot of beef items and quinoa I don’t eat quinoa. Service was a bit slow tonight and the hostess ended up taking our order. Disappointed!

We have visited a few times, mostly good for service, waiters make a big difference. The food — salads, soups — clam chowder and entrees– seafood spaghetti and fish were well portioned and tasty. The desert was also very good. The atmosphere is too loud, the server seemed to be inexperienced with the timing of drinks and food orders. I hope this place can make the improvements with proper training or if they have qualified staff to somehow keep the good ones. I would like to see Giorgio’s succeed in the long run. For this review it has to be 2 star.

Awesome Italian restaurant in Salinas. It’s a little pricey but I think it is worth it. Got to treat yourself once in a while.

I had heard positive reviews from colleagues and thought we’d give this place a try. The interior is unique with its vaulted ceilings. The tall booths are surprisingly cozy and comfortable. The building used to house a bank. Artie was our server and he was friendly, efficient and well informed about the menu. He was fairly attentive and allowed our group to chat and catch up on missed time. The food was delicious and so many tempting options. The purple cauliflower soup was different and tasty — like cream of mushroom soup. We tried several of their salad and pasta dishes. Without exception, each was well seasoned and portioned. Too bad our appetites weren’t larger… we would have enjoyed tasting more! Save room for dessert! The crème brûlée was a classic and a must try! Definitely coming back to this place. The company was also great!

**for dinner only** I had been waiting for so long for this spot to open that when it finally did, I couldn’t wait to try it out. Now, after numerous attempts at trying to love this place, I have to say I am so disappointed. What can I say. .. I TRIED. Located in Old Town Salinas in the previous Wells Fargo building, the architecture with interior brick walls, original marble, high ceilings and open floor is AMAZING. The green onyx bar is beautiful and brings the modern touch to this spot. Although the service is great and ambiance is amazing, the food is bland and overpriced. Great place to go for drinks, but save yourself some money and go to dinner elsewhere.

A friend of my mother’s recommended this place as a «must stop» in Salinas. We were told should we make a reservation ahead of time to avoid excessive wait times. After calling in and requesting a date, time, and providing a party number, we received a phone call back confirming our reservation.(Same day!) The ambiance of this place is quite refreshing. The smell of freshly made authentic Italian cuisine fills the air as you walk from the entrance toward the bar and dinning area. Knowledgeable folks carrying wine bottles walk by your table and provide the best wine pairings for your meal and even provide samples!(I’d recommend the Lobster Ravioli or the seared pesto swordfish!) Our server Sebastian was a delight. He checked on us often, and refilled our glasses with water or wine before they could even be emptied. He was even sweet enough to provide my mother and I with some suggestions for our meal and subsequent desert. However, that’s where my disappointment came through. The desert, a freshly baked bread pudding, was fairly awful. The pudding came to us a la mode, but was not even warm. It also came to us a bit overcooked and crunchy(and not in the good way, crunchy). After a few dissatisfied bites between my mother and I, we decided not bother with it. I hope that next time we have a better desert experience. But overall, this is a great place. Clean, good customer service, and a total palate pleaser.

In town for work for the night so of course I turned to Unilocal when I needed to find a place for dinner. I had never been to salinas before, this place looked new & hot and definitely the place you’d wanna be! Being by myself I of course sat at the bar. Mikey was my server and he was fantastic, he recommended so many amazing dishes for me to eat. After enjoying a bruschetta appetizer and being somewhat full, I chose to order 2 side dishes. Mikey recommended the cavolfoire and the patate arrosto and both were delicious! The restaurant is absolutely stunning, the wine list is large, there’s so many food choices, the facility is large and absolutely gorgeous, the staff is nice and most of all, I’m leaving feeling full with good vino in my system. Thank you Mikey for keeping me company at the bar and serving me delicious food & wine! Great spot, I will be back!

I’ve been here a few times and though I would try it a few times before writing a review. First love the design and vibe great outdoor seating area. Inside they have large booth seats next to a huge window, great for people watching ;) The drinks are made prefect happy hour thumbs ups! The food is ok, presentation A, taste C, portion B, price point $$, will definitely go back to try others things. And I will update my review.

It took this place long enough to open! I get brunch at First Awakenings all the time, so I’ve been watching the progress of this building/restaurant for the last year. I’m so glad it’s finally open! I waited a little bit to try this place so they could work out all their kinks and a coworker of mine told me she’s been there for almost every meal of the day and seemed to love going there. So I told myself might as well go try this place now since she’s been there so many times. When I first walked up, I was surprised to see a doorman there. They wouldn’t let a friend in because he had a hooded sweater on(but c’mon it was cold!). Guess they just want to keep the place classy! As soon as I walked in, I understood why. The restaurant was bustling with patrons. The décor was classy yet modern with a lit up cocktail bar. The outside had lounge chairs and fireplaces, as well as tables to eat at. There was a really nice vibe. We had to wait a little bit for our table, so we got a few drinks at the bar. The cocktails are not your typical captain and coke, though I’m sure you ccould still order that. They were specialized cocktails with ingredients you probably wouldn’t really know about or how to pronounce them, made by mixologists. The cocktails were really good! I’d definitely come for happy hour and try more drinks. We finally got our booth. We ordered calamari, lamb osso busco, short rib papperdelle, and seafood spaghetti. All pastas are made in house, so extra bonus points in my book! The pastas were cooked perfectly al dente. All our dishes had great flavor. Short rib pasta was really good. The meat was tender and flavorful. You can definitely taste the seafood flavor in the seafood spaghetti, so if you aren’t a fan of seafood, don’t order it. The Lamb fell right off the bone. It was so tender and didn’t taste gamey at all. Overall, the food was great, atmosphere was great. The chef even came out to greet us, which was unexpected, yet nice. The only gripe I had was that our calamari came at the end of our meal instead of before. We didn’t cancel it since we wanted to try it. But I think it should’ve been compensated on the bill for coming out so late! Would definitely come back again!
