After reading the reviews I have strong suspicion of this business. My husband bought me a ring for Christmas. Within an hour of wearing it, my finger was bleeding from the band breaking. We took it in to the mall location on December 30th for repair. We went in a week later to pick it up as promised. Not fixed. We were informed the jewlery repair man was on vacation and that it would be another week. It’s now been 4 weeks, Nobody has called to let us know if it has been fixed(as promised) and when I try to call the store the line rings about 10 times and then disconnects. Refer to the other reviews and you’ll find a pattern of poor customer service.

I have been looking for a ring to mount my 2 carat pink tourmaline stone for over a year. Every time I would go into a jewelry store from Monterey to Carmel I would be disappointed with what was available. Most stores carry semi-mounts for wedding rings but not for right hand rings. My daughter and I stopped in Keepsake Diamond center in Salinas to see what they had… after looking around and not quite finding anything the owner/manager brought over a ring that I loved but had not considered because it did not have a mount for my stone. The great thing was that the he envisioned how to set my stone on that ring and it was perfect and beyond my expectations. On top of that the ring was greatly reduced and all of the work to modify the ring was free. I could not be happier with the ring and with the service and great care my daughter and I received. Thank you for creating the ring I dreamed of!

You can keep the Keepsake Diamond Center in Salinas! Granted, a large, presentable showroom and amiable staff, the sad bottom line is they apparently can’t be counted on to deliver«The Ring», the emotional centerpiece and symbol of our happiest day, our marriage. After many calls and inconvenient drives to their store and after 9 weeks, today it finally arrives… ooops, wrong size!, oh well… After more smiles and«sorries!» from our«Sales» person, Marina who never contacted us to update us as to what was going on with our purchase, I guess they just want us to wait even a little while longer. Why not?, they have our money and we have nothing. What a bitter, frustrating experience, perhaps we would have been better off at one of the kiosks at the mall across the street. Caveat emptor, let the buyer beware!!!

Racially discriminating saleswoman and dishonest personnel. I went here to have my husband’s wedding ring resized. I went before he did to ask the normal questions and made sure he could come by the next day. I left the ring with them since he was coming from work and asked if he needed to verify his identification at all, to which the person responded no. He just had to mention my name and they had all the information on file. Well, he went the next day and the girl does not believe him that he is my husband.(I am white, he is a dark-skinned Mexican). She makes him call me with his cell phone, gets on the line and asks me my husbands name, what he looks like, and other information to make sure it is him. I of course comply, but I don’t think she would have done that if he were of a different race. If that wasn’t enough, my husband asks her which finger the wedding ring goes on for the sizing. She told him that it goes on whatever finger he wants. He repeated that it is a wedding ring and that his wife sent him to get it sized. She repeats that he can get it sized for any finger. He is of course confused since he knows that the wedding ring goes on a specific finger. So, in the end she has him size the wedding ring for his middle finger. Who does that? When I find out I go back and ask what had happened. The salesperson was very kind and returned me the ring saying that it had not been resized yet. However, upon returning home, I realize that they had placed the ring in a box and when I took it out, I could see that they had already started to melt some of the ring away. So part of his ring is skinnier than the rest. I refuse to go back to a racist business.

I would give them 0 stars but I can’t. I took my rings in there to get it sized and sautered(engagement and wedding band) my rings both have about 12 little diamonds on each band and the engagement ring has a bigger diamond in the middle of it. After I went in to pick up my rings I noticed the sautering was horrible! I have never seen such terrible work. Then they tried to tell me that’s how the rings were supposed to be. I’m only 20 years old so I feel like they were thinking they could beguile me into thinking its supposed to be like that. I’m round but I’m not stupid. Then joe vargas, that stand in manager, took my ring and looked at the jeweler and said«shes not happy with this and shrugged». As he did this one of the diamonds from my wedding band fell off of my ring. He looked at it as it fell and kept«inspecting it». Then the jeweler grabbed the ring and goes«is it because she’s missing a diamond?» and I started to cry obviously. Then joe goes«oh no» not even caring about the fact that it fell off of my ring. Then the lady at the desk«mysteriously» finds it on the counter where it had fallen. They then said they would re sauter my rings and I was skeptical but said ok. I went back to get my rings and inspected them. The rings looked ok. Not good but ok. Hen I look at every diamond. And one of them seemed smaller than all the rest. I brought it to joes attention and he said it wasn’t and that they were all the same size. I’m a girl I know my rings inside out they’re all I stare at. I know exactly what they look like. We talked back and forth and I paid for the service. I then take my diamond to get a second opinion and the diamond is indeed smaller. I then call keepsake and tell them then mention that I was recording the conversation. He then decides to give me a full refund. How ironic right? I then take it to the jeweler where my husband had originally gotten it from. Which is all the way in San Francisco. I should have went there in the first place but I didn’t. My fault. The jeweled there then tell me my diamond is chipped. How on earth do you chip a diamond? And it was chipped bad. The place where I took it, Ben folds, then replaces my diamond for free and charges me nothing for labor. Now that’s what I call customer service. They were so nice and caring. I thank them a million times and call keepsake back the next day as it was closed. I asked to speak to how and was put on hold for over 5 minutes. I then hang up an call back. Joe answers and I say«I’ve been on hold for over 5 minutes and I asked to speak to you» his response, «well we’re busy» super sassy and rude. And I said what about the customer? Then express and tell him every thing that happened. And asked how it was that my diamond got chipped. He had no response, and I said«since you lied to me I’m reporting you to the better business bureau and giving you a bad rate» he then hangs up on me immediately. Talk about customer service. I would never recommend anyone going there. Ever. If you had a good experience good for you. But for me, I’d keep away. They lied to me and were rude. I have never been to a business as shady as them. Never. If this happened to me and my rings that have sentimental value. Imagine what they could do to you and your prized possessions. Still to this day I have no idea if that was the original diamond or not. Just be careful.

I have called this store ten times for an appraisal of an item from their own store. Apparently the appraisal was supposed to be mailed(twice) and emailed, but never was. I am floored with the unprofessionalism of the staff and owner. I have been given the run around and lied to. I would not suggest purchasing anything from this store or from their Monterey store. The are extremelly unorganized, do not call back when they say they will and they do not do what their are supposed to or follow up with their clients. I am not sure what the deal is but I am extremelly disappointed.

They are actually at a new location — 1712 N. Main St, Salinas, right across from the Northridge Mall. Anyway, I love this jewelry store! My fiancé has bought me jewelry from here in the past — then my engagement ring, and of course we went back for our wedding bands. They are very friendly here; it’s a nice, quiet atmosphere. Petra is extremely helpful and pleasant!
