New China

I’m writing from a vegan stand point: I came in with fAmily to have dinner and noticed it was very clean. When I got to the menu I asked if the vegetable chow mien noodles were egg based and was told that there was no eggs in the dish… and after trying to explain to her that I was vegan, which she still did not understand, I just decided to go along and order it to avoid being «that guy». When I got my order, «vegetable chow mien» which was not so vegetable… it only had bits of onions and cabbage… Then I noticed my stomach aching a bit which probably indicated the noodles were egg based. Everyone else seemed to have enjoyed their food though. I’m being very understanding and giving them 3 stars but would probably would have given this 4 stars if they offered different noodles that were just plant based, and of course more veggies.
Overall it’s an okay restaurant if you’re not vegan…

i love coming to new china! the sizzling rice soup is my favorite here and its always fresh. this is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in salinas, its a family business in which the owners are way friendly and make sure you are being pleased. ive have brought a couple lf my friends to experience it and they’ve loved it. really enjoy coming here, sweet and sour is really good, and try beef & broccoli also!

I came to this restaurant 3 – 4 times and received good food with great service. I held high standards for this place. However, it all changed when I witnessed a cockroach come from under our table on my visit today. My friend discreetly smashed it using a napkin. Things escalated and in a matter of seconds, an additional roach approached the scene. My friend frantically yelled that he was done eating. In this instance, the server approached us and smashed the roach with her bare hand without removing the dead roach. She brought the bill and apologized about seven times. We stopped eating and walked out. Never coming here again! I regret paying! So dissapointed… I am disgusted.

Always enjoy the food here.
The House Delux Soup is the best. Won-​ton, shrimp, chicken, sizzling rice, veggies, bomb. Always hits the spot.
Today we asked the owner for a recomendation to a shrimp dish and she recommended the shrimp & broccoli. When we saw the dish I was like eh! Simple, but the flavor was delicious. Broccoli was perfectly cooked not tough and not fall apart. Just right. The simple sauce on it has a sweet flavor to it I would say but not like a candy sweet. Give it a try for yourself so you know what I’m saying.
My only down star was because the owner is always in a hurry. Makes me laugh every time. My girl and I always joke around saying things like… We walk in she says hola amigo! for two? As soon as we sit down she asks… listo amigo? Like we just sat down. She brings us our food and its like ya amigo? Ready to get us out the door. lol
It’s not really like that we just make fun, but; since it was only her shes very fast paced in n out lets go style. It’s good to see she got help thou it slows her down. She a friendly kind woman.
Overall the food here is delicious, quickly made and on your plate. The owner is kind, the resteraunt is clean and the price is just right.

The place is clean, fast and the owner a lady is super friendly. Love their sizzeling plate and egg rolls. Will be back again

This is my 2^nd visit. It is good basic Chinese food. Service is very quick. Fried Won Tons are awesome. They have a bit of meat (which is a rare find these days), hot, crunchy and not greasy. Last time I tried the cashew chicken, I found it to be bland. Today I tried the chicken sizzling plate. It had lots of chicken, fresh crunchy broccoli, carrots, mushrooms & bamboo shoot. Brown sauce was much tastier. Food is prepared as it should be. I will be back. Their foiled wrap chicken is also very tasty.

Open on Christmas Eve! Yay!
