Salinas Pizza & Pints

So… this review is not «structured» correctly but hopefully you get the gist—
The wings, original hot, were A little salty. The garlic cheese bread also was a little salty. But nonetheless they both were still edible.
We ordered the DOM’s SLAM DUNK pizza. This specialty pizza has black olives, linguisa and pepperoni and mushrooms. The pizza overall tasted good. However, we felt like the cheese was over salted which in turn added to the slight saltiness of the pizza and the sauce needed a little something added — maybe some thyme or basil or oregano or rosemary; something felt amiss in the sauce.
The owner is the one that helped us and he was cool as heck. Even letting us try some new brew we never had before. So we ended up getting a pitcher of 10-​Barrel Apocalypse IPA for $ 13. Apparently this IPA and the Lagunitas IPA were the same price per pitcher; which to us was not expensive since 1-​pint is $ 5, and there are about 4 or 5-​pints per pitcher. The rest of the staff seemed friendly as well; there are like 10 TVs on different sports channels, so you probably won’t miss a game. It was clean too. Standard booth seats with optional table seating.
On a weeknight (like tonight 6÷23÷2016) there was ambience but not too crazy loud like some of the other reviews have mentioned. For us the ambience felt perfect.

This place is out of this world. It’s almost unbelievable that such a place can be found in Salinas. Very neat and organized. The staff are friendly and extremely customer service oriented and the pizza is the best you will find in town. The beer selection is also very good. Great place to go with friends and/​or family to watch a game and have a good time.

Great place to catch my golden state warriors! The pizza is GREAT! My number one place for pizza is here. The owner is always in when I go. Great guy. The place has definitely gotten better since the new owners took over this place. Specialty pizzas is the way to go. My personal favorites are Meat Marvel and El Don. Highly recommend this place.

Never been inside but we’ve had this pizza many times through school functions. My kids don’t care for it. The crust is very thick and it lacks flavor I’m used to from other pizza places. If you like bland pizza with really thick crust this is your place. It’s just not mine.

My boyfriend wanted pizza so we decided to finally give this place a try
As we’re ordering our pizza a ball flies out of the arcade that is packed with boys (about 10)
And hits me on the side of my leg. one of the boys rushes after the ball and tells me he’s sorry.
It was an accident, he said sorry, no biggie!
So we walk over to have a seat and enjoy each others company while we wait, now
I know not to expect a quiet and peaceful meal at a pizza place, i mean come on, tvs, jukebox, families, etc. but what we experienced was just quite awful.
The entire time we were there the kids were running EVERYWHERE
They ditched the arcade and the entire restaurant became a playground.
From the dining room to the bathrooms, running through the line of people waiting to order food, under tables, & around the salad bar. They were screaming and shouting and remember that ball i mentioned? Well, there was more than one, and those things were flying everywhere. It was pure madness.
I know mainly their parents are to blame, for not disciplining their kids or teaching them simple manners as not one but three of those kids at different times both popped up behind my boyfriend on a booth behind us and shouted over us to the other kids.
I was in disbelief, honestly. I blame the staff as well, as they did absolutely nothing to stop the chaos. They not once asked the kids to stop running thru the line, or restaurant. They did not address the group of parents either. They just acted as if they were not there and allowed them to disturb everyone that was present.
It was a really awful and 100% unpleasant experience. So much that i wish i was exaggerating.
The pizza was really good and exeeded our expectations but first impressions are powerful
With that said, It was our first and last time at this place.
And as if all that wasn’t bad enough, as we are leaving we see one of the kids grabbing a handful of croutons from the salad bar and savagely shoving them down his throat.
We spoke to an employee on the way out and he didn’t say much about it
My bfs thoughts are that the employees said nothing because either they spent or regularly spend lots of money there or they are friends. Either way its bad for business.

Went in yesterday which was NFL draft day called ahead for my order which they said would be 30 mins and that was fine showed up they told me it would be a few more minutes which was ok, environment was good everyone was watching the draft. They have a good amount of beer on draft and the pizza was great and because my order took so long they upgraded the size for no extra cost. Friendly people, good environment, great pizza. My new favorite spot for pizza

Good pizza overall. Creative and tasty combos. I believe the dough is made in house. Family friendly environment with arcade, sports on tv, etc. Friendly staff and crowd. Biggest downfall is the order took twice as long as they said it would. I came to pick up my order and I’m pretty sure they hadn’t even made it yet because it took another 20min. Waiting around for that long is pretty irritating.

Went to my sons team baseball party and I must say it was our first time going and the pizzas are really good. I would return again.

Expecting a bit more. Pizza is ok but not great. Name suggests something more than a family pizza place but that’s about it.

Came here for the first time since before it changed from Straw Hat Pizza. This new place offers a great variety of pizza and even Strombolies! They have a HUGE variety of sizes for whole pies, perfect for any size gathering & the prices are great too!

Really good drinks and pizza… Garlic Cheese Bread is a must!
Local Sallinas family owned, as a local of Salinas I’m always willing to support Mom and Pop New establishments and today I was certainly not disappointed.

Their pizza is delicious!
Their customer service is Awesome!
And their atmosphere is the coolest!

I’ve been following this pizza place since it first opened. The interior has come along way and the improvements have made this pizza joint a great place to bring the family or the buds for a meal. There are plenty of screens to catch the game and all are independent of one another. Chances are they will have the game you want to watch.
Lets get down to the nitty gritty… The food ! It’s awesome ! I’m a pizza aficionado and their crust is spot on ! I prefer a thinner crust any they get close! The cooks always accommodate for my liking. The specialty pizzas are the way to go. I will publicly say that Pizza and Pints has the best bread sticks on the central coast ! I miss having them all the time. Lets not forget about the salad bar, it’s a hit with everyone!
I highly recommend pizza and pints for your next pizza craving ! And they also have a great selection of cerveza to accompany your meal

Decided to try this place on Friday Night. Huge mistake. It was crowded (which usually means it’s good food and service). We order our meal a large pizza and a pitcher of beer. The person taking our order gave us a number and said he would deliver our beer to the table. It took 45 minutes to get our beer which was luke warm. The server said he forgot about us. The pizza arrived shortly after. The pizza was hot, the sauce was lacking flavor. The crust was crispy and flavorful. I would try this place again, just hope they can improve on wait times.

Pepperoni Bacon pizza is a must! Great atmosphere and owners are awesome! I highly recommend and I can’t wait to see them progress!

I saw the decent rating and was hoping to have a decent veggie pizza, but it ended up only being just as good as Little Ceasers, Pizza Hut, Domino’s, etc… The service was unhelpful to say the least. But given that one large pizza, and 2 terminator wedges came out to $ 41.56… I’d definitely have to say it’s not even close to worth it. Could’ve gone to BJ’s Pizza at that point…

It has been a week since our pizza order from Salinas Pizza & Pints and we can not stop talkong about the pizza.
I had called in an order and asked, which is their most popular pizza? He (wish I can remember his name) said, «everyone seems to like our Combo Pizza.» With that I said, yes. Yes to a large combo pizza. What made it even better was that I asked if he can split the pizza: half combo and half veggie. Without hesitation he said yes and even added the toppings typically found on their veggie pizza. It was perfect.
We wait 30 minutes in our hotel room. The delivery person was polite. Pizza arrived on time, it was piping hot and looked amazing.
Let me say I had pizza in bed and it was amazing!!! We kept gushing over the crust and how perfect it was, the taste the crisp and it chewiness of the dough. It was not greasy. The toppings were perfectly placed and just the right amount. Did I mention the cheese… it was amazing. The serving size was perfect. Ingredients were fresh.
I love pizza and I don’t know how any other pizza can compare to a Salinas Combo Pizza… and I have had pizza from New York and this does not compare.
If I can say one bad about a Salinas Pizza and Pint pizza… WHY ARE YOU SO FAR AWAY!!!
Locals support your local business and support amazing food in your area. If anybody calls for a pizza night, you have to call Salinas Pizza and Pints… tell them I sent you.
Hands down THE BEST pizza I have ever had.

The pizza is pretty good for Salinas standards. We enjoyed our meal. You order at the counter and get your beverages there too so service is pretty minimal. Once we ordered and sat down we were about half way through our drinks before our pizza arrived. Not bad for made to order pizza. It was cooked well and was flavorful. The IPA we had was delicious with the pizza. See photos. This is a nice pizzeria. Families were there enjoying the arcade and family friendly setting. We liked it.

Two words… COMBO PIZZA. The crust was awesome, vegetables were super fresh.
Pizza and a few pints, plus a few classic arcade games make for a great time out. A must try.
