I crave this stuff every day. The Karai is very flavorful and delicious. The Tonkotsu is also one of my faves.

I ordered a takeout today, curry Ramen. They gave me 4 tiny pieces of pork for my order. They charged me additional fee for to-go, then tax on top of that. I felt I was ripped off. I promise I won’t come back nor recommend to anyone.

I debated over a 2 or 3 for a while, went with a 3. I’ve had quite a few ramen places around here, but I think I’ll stick with Koko Kitchen(which was recommended to me by a Japanese friend). My wife and I trusted the tonkatsu and blend ramen. Overall the noodles were alright(but nothing to Koko’s homemade noodles) the broth was creamy and mild, which was good, but I prefer the oompf of Koko’s broth. The vegetables seemed more of an afterthought. The soft boiled egg was the one touch that I did prefer over Koko(they hard boil theirs). My biggest letdown though was the meat. The big slab of pork was bland and cardboardish, and too large to easily eat with chopsticks. I the end I still thought that Toshio’s ramen was great, it just didn’t have what I like about the ramen that I get from Koko Kitchen. My message to you is: try Koko Kitchen, it’s an extremely underrated place that deserves more patronage, though I will say that their non-ramen is only passable. If you prefer Tosh, that’s fine too, that’s the great thing about having different places with different styles.

I was so pleasantly surprised to find real deal ramen in SLC where the food scene can feel… a little flat. This stuff is better than some of the stuff I’ve tried in LA and NYC. Get the ‘blend ramen’ which is tonkatsu and soy sauce broth mixed together. Awesome depth of flavor, just the right amount of salt, melt in your mouth pork, nicely chewy and surprisingly flavorful noodles. And a great price. Be warned… you will wait to be seated unless you’re there at odd hours. Be patient. It’s worth it.

Smack down ramen has come to SLC. I arrived 15 minutes prior to opening on a Saturday and there were already 8 people ahead of me — and now I know why. GREAT ramen is why! Nice big bowl of hot and spicy soup with noodles that stay firm all the way to the bottom along with soft boiled egg, slices of roast pork and other delicious things. I understand that Chef Tosh was the ramen expert at Naked Fish and decided to go out on his own. Good job Chef — I’ll be back! Enjoy Cheue‘

Mighty impressive ramen. Get their early before they open for lunch or get ready to wait in line. Try the spicy pork, you won’t be disappointed.

Hallelujah for some awesome ramen!!! We’ve tried a couple different places which have been alright, but Tosh’s beats them and was wicked delicious. I guess we got lucky because we only had to wait 10 – 15 minutes. It would’ve worth waiting the 45 minutes that others have mentioned. As many have mentioned, the Tokyo Wings are absolutely delicious. We had the Blend and Karai Ramens and they were fantastic. Portions were great. My kids got the kids sizes Blends and slurped that stuff down. We will absolutely be going back.

As far as dried ramen noodles places go, this place is awesome. The curry was my first choice and was flavorful and the portion was huge(enough for two). The Tokyo wings were yummy and the Gyoza was fantastic… Give it a try.

Don’t be fooled by the location. This is by far the best ramen in Salt Lake City. There is usually a 15 – 20 minute wait so plan accordingly. It is well worth the wait though. My personal favorite is the Karai ramen($ 9.95) and Tokyo wings($ 7.50)

A restaurant specializing in ramen was exactly what SLC was missing and needed. Tosh’s Ramen is my dream come true. I have been a big fan since the restaurant opened. There is always a line and you will have to wait unless you are there at an odd time. Seating is limited and bringing a group larger than 4 will require a longer wait to get a table together but it is possible. Get the Tokyo Wings. They are always perfectly cooked and the sauce is addicting. You won’t find anything else like these wings in SLC. I sometimes just want to get two orders for myself. I have tried all the ramen options except for the Vegetarian Ramen but it’s on my list. The Shoyu and Tonkotsu are both classic options that are good on their own or together in the Blended option. The mushrooms in the Karai ramen are the best but it is a little too spicy for my taste. My favorite is the Curry Ramen. The broth is thicker than you would expect, but it’s perfectly comforting and I think the amount of meat it comes with is just right. It’s a lot of food and I rarely finish the entire bowl. The customer service here has consistently been great. Although it is always busy, the waitresses work hard to make sure you are comfortable and enjoying your meal. The owner is frequently present and such a friendly soul; my meals are always better when he’s there.

I’m no «ramen authority,» but ever since we watched Mind of a Chef on Netflix, my husband and I have been craving authentic Japanese ramen. Tosh’s Ramen more than satisfied us. My group ordered the Tokyo Wings, 2 Tonkatsu bowls, and 1 Blend bowl with extra noodles. The sweet and spicy sauce on the wings was amazing; the appetizer comes with 6 wings but I could have eaten 60. Not to worry though, the ramen will fill you up. Go hungry, they do not mess around with big portions for low prices. The broth is made of subtle and complex flavors, and the noodles are perfectly cooked. Besides great food, you also get great service. Our waitress was delightful and we did not have to wait long to be seated(even though the place was crowded). Essentially, this place was everything I want in a restaurant: great food, great price, great people. Thank you for opening it up, Yoshio.

This ain’t your dads ramen noodles. We had a family affair smackin those ramen noodles together and they were SO good! We started with the vegetable dumplings — yum! and then moved on to the kids size ramen and hubby with Katsura curry that was awesome! Had some salty warm soy beans and then finished the night off with some apricot custard which was not good at all. It tasted nothing like apricot and more like almond and the texture was like snot. It was so gross. I literally gagged Everything else was off the charts. Really busy place tons of people. Line out the door waiting but was well worth it! Service was awesome! My kids loved it too — bonus!

Being an out of towner, I’ve had my fair share of good, and great broth from various ramen shops in the country. The wait was long and it had limited seating that’s why I gave it one less star. The Tokyo Wings are 6 pieces of sweet and tangy caramelized meat lollipops that you’ll want seconds of or just don’t share. I had the Karai Ramen with extra chashu(pork slice), Onsen Tamago(poached egg) and seaweed. The Karai had a great balance of spice and I love spicy! Broth was very rich and flavorful that I kept wanting to eat more. It wasn’t as salty as other broths I’ve had before and I would highly recommend it if you love spicy food! I was conflicted between the curry ramen or the Karai and glad I made the right choice. Price: On par with other ramen places(~$ 9 – 11 a basic bowl) Seating: Expect to wait and they only seat complete parties Portion Size: You’ll definitely be full or near full with the generous serving size. Overall: Highly Recommended to take friends and be sure to check their hours before you go.

Why is there ALWAYS a huge line and a long wait at this place? Because it’s sooooo worth the wait! I’ve only been here once, but I’ve had ramen all over the place and this ramen is the best bowl of ramen that ever did a ramen. We tried a couple different kinds and both were simply excellent. The poached egg in mine was perfectly cooked; soft, but not runny. The meat was so tender I could(and did) cut it with a chopstick. We started out with the Tokyo wings. Even though they weren’t our favorite wings, we still ate every last one. The atmosphere/ambiance is basically non-existent. It reminds me of a nondescript noodle house in any major city. Just some simple tables and flimsy chairs. The place could probably stand to double in size, in order to accommodate the hordes. Until then, I’ll just patiently wait in line.

Knowing that the chef was previously from Naked Fish I was expecting a great piping, hot bowl of goodness but I was a tad bit disappointed. The issue was with the shoyu ramen itself. The broth was savory but a little bland and not steaming hot as I had expected. It seemed that it lacked something vital to pull it all together. The meat it came with was very cold and threw off the flavor. Sad to say but I’d rate it a 6⁄10. The gyoza was delicious, customer service was great, pricing reasonable and it was a short wait(FYI Sunday is a great day to visit) I really hope that my expectations are met on my next visit. P.S– Many complain about the small location but if you have ever visited a ramen shop they are ALL like this. Just sayin.

I don’t think Tosh’s Ramen is as good as before or maybe Kobe Japanese Cuisine is just that much better, even Tonkatsu in West Valley has better Ramen. Could it be an off day? The hype is no longer there, the long line wasn’t present today. I think the best thing on the menu was the Tokyo Wings and the Kushikatsu. There were no condiments Japanese oil nor the seasoning. Going to take another break from this place for a while to see if it improves or just keep visiting Kobe and Tonkotsu.

Came here a couple of times and I can’t believe I haven’t review this place yet. This is one of the best ramen places here in Salt Lake City. The wait for a seat here takes forever on certain days, while other days the seating is very fast. Service here is actually speedy. My favorite ramen here is the tonkotsu ramen. The broth is very rich and the noodles are firm and chewy. I recently tried their curry ramen and it was super delicious. The broth was a bit thick and rich with flavor, like how curry usually is. I usually order extra chasue(pork) and bean sprouts. The price here is is fairly cheap. The reason why I didn’t give this place a 5 star would be because the food is inconsistent. At one point the broth would be more bland while other days it would be super rich. But whether the broth is a bit bland or rich it is still super delicious. Totally recommend this place.

Had the vegetarian with addition of bamboo. The soup, mushroom and bamboo were spot on. The waitress(Shani?) was wonderful – nice, friendly and helpful. The veggies were crispy and were grilled… yum! Noodles were perfect and chewy. Try to get there early as there was a line around 630PM. Simple menu shows that they are focused and focus means perfection. Décor was simple and casual.

After Tosh left Naked Fish, he started Tosh’s Ramen at a former Korean restaurant location on the strip mall with bunch other Asian restaurants that already had limited parking before they moved in. Parking had pretty much turned to nightmarish during peak hours, especially during Sunday lunch hour with all the Chinese attending their church of Dim Sum next door. I remember having to park around the block in the shady neighborhood streets one Saturday night. They do not take reservations, you will have to be there physically and write your name down. Tokyo Wings are always perfect to start your meal while you wait for the noodles to arrive. Very easy to eat even with meat on the bone, and the favors was great with a nice presentation to complement each other. Kushikatsu was good too if you have kids or just looking for something crunchy. The ramen was just as good as when Tosh was at his previous location. Although they only have one type of ramen noodle for all of their flavors, they were great noodles regardless. Tonkotsu is always a good start if you are just starting out on ramen. I like it with more kick, so either Kari or the Curry ones had been my choices in the last few visits. I also like it how they have a kid size ramen priced lower for children(an off menu item), and I know few girls that would love to order the kid sizes for themselves. Soft drink was a bit lacking, since you have to buy them in cans, which can break the deal for me when you throw in nightmare parking. Usually I think about Tosh when I crave ramen in the downtown area now, and they serve them day and night too rather than just for lunch previously.
