Meat and cheese plate for $ 12 the hardest bread ever. Chewy prosciutto, and slimy cheese

Grabbed a Gastro Burger with the garlic parmesan fries. The burger was probably the best burger that I’ve had from a food truck; not overly fussy but complex enough to warrant the $ 14 price. It was cooked very well — medium and juicy. The fries were nothing mind blowing, but were enjoyable regardless. My friends who got the short rib sandwich raved about that too. The chicken sandwich was less of a hit. It probably took about 15 minutes for the food to come out, which is indeed a tad slow. However, I just used the time to wander back inside and pick up another beer.

As someone who doesn’t drink beer, I really had no business hanging at a brewery but I do like spending time with my husband, so I cheerfully accompanied him to the Green Flash. When I learned they also had a FOODTRUCK, my taste buds were even more on board now. My trip to Green Flash would be redeemed! Hubby ordered a few beer tasters and I headed outside to the Truck to look at their menu. I settled on the Chicken and goat cheese sandwich(can you see where this is going?) and the Short Rib Sandwich. I left them my number so they could text me when the grub was ready(a neat perk, definitely). About 10 minutes later, I get The Text! Yay, quick service! I cut the sandwiches in half we could try both. I started with the chicken goat cheese. At first bite, it was pretty overpowering– the goat cheese, then the other tastes started to emerge, the nuttiness of the stringy sprouts and then the arugula. The chicken’s texture was ok, not rubbery, and I was able to finish my half without too much difficulty. The short rib though, when I picked it off the plate was dripping grease and the taste… didn’t do it for me. Hubby liked it and I let him have my half too. Perhaps the choices were too«exotic» for me, whatever that means. I probably should’ve stuck to the burger and fries. For 23 bucks we could’ve had some more filling food elsewhere. Pretty disappointing. If we came back, I’d give the burger a go and hopefully update my review with some more stars. I really wanted to like the Truck!

The fries are great! And the burger is not bad too.

Like some other reviews, I agree that they need to work some kinks out. It took over 45 minutes to get deviled eggs and French fries, and they didn’t even have my order in the system after I paid and my credit card was charged. Green Flash has amazing beer, but they should go back to the rotating food trucks until they figure this system out.

We stopped by Green Flash last week and were surprised to find they have there own food truck — Gastro! It was so fantastic! Awesome burger and fries. The burger was one of the best I ever had, with carmelized onions and some secret yummy sauce. The fries were soooo good. The short rib sandwich was out of this world — not to be missed. We cant wait to go back! great job guys. And for the number of customers, the service was really good.

Spent last week in San Diego and stopped by Green Flash Brewing. They have their own food truck and it was incredibly delicious and surprisingly very gourmet! Shrimp with grits, short rib sandwich(one of the best I’ve had), meat and cheese board and Parmesan French fries. I cant wait to go back and try everything. It was busy but we got our food pretty quickly. This is not just another food truck, it’s outstanding!

Well, I tried to be excited about Green Flash’s new food truck but it just didn’t happen. They still have some kinks to work out with both the food and service. I ordered the burger and the husband got the short rib sandwich. The woman who took my order was very friendly, and they even offer a system where they will text you when your food is ready which is great. But then I saw why it was necessary. Went on a Tuesday night. The place wasn’t dead, but it also wasn’t crazy busy. The food took a loooong time to come out. But because I was at my seat drinking my beer and didn’t have to stand up by the truck it wasn’t a big deal. When I finally did get my text, I went up to the pickup window of the truck. I could see my food sitting there, but it took five minutes of me standing there to actually get it. It was frustrating because there were five people on the truck, at least three of whom looked directly at me at some point during those five minutes. I tried to ask for their help to grab my food but to no avail. Ok, to the important part — the food. My hamburger was not good. It was generic at best. I ate half of it and pawned the rest off on somebody else. The fries were good, but I paid an extra dollar for parmesan garlic and it wasn’t worth it in the least. I tasted virtually no garlic and the parmesan was so thick that it fell off the fries and to the bottom so never got much of that either. But it wasn’t all bad news. My husband’s short rib sandwich was DELICIOUS. Tender meat on great rye bread, very flavorful. It gives me hope for their truck. If he were writing the review there’d probably be four stars here. There were some really awesome trucks that used to frequent Green Flash, and I’m almost certainly going to follow them to other breweries. Unless and until GF’s new truck steps up their game, I’ll just be at GF for the beer.
