I had my hair heavily highlighted here for the first time today by Taylor and she did an amazing job. My hair was messed up from a previous hair stylist from another salon. When I came in it was uneven, the wrong color, and not well blended. Taylor listened to all my issues with my hair and fixed them. I have a ton of hair and it is pretty dark so it is not easy to get it to the perfect blonde but she did fantastic. Highly recommend her and I will be going back. The price was comparable to other salons I have been before in the mid price range.

Date of visit: 11/28/2015 Anousheh is an absolute lifesaver. I needed my hair layered for my wedding, but the place I normally go to left me without layers and an uneven trim. I was really upset, but my mom(always the level headed one) said that she would find someone else to take care of it. Salon 56 is really clean and well taken care of. Although it was a bit empty(Thanksgiving weekend), there was enough space to take care of a lot of people at once, but still be comfortable to be in. Anousheh took care of washing and conditioning my hair and giving my mom a deep conditioning of her hair. I was very happy with my hair cut and have definitely found my new hair stylist. Not only did she make my hair look great right after the cut, it helped my hair hold up for my wedding. Anousheh is an individual contractor, but I do really like Salon 56 and am sure their other hair stylists are great.

Worst experience ever!!! If I could give them negative stars, I would. The person who did my hair was not experienced enough and one side of my hair was less permed than the other. Also, I have a chuck of hair in the back that is straight still… Meaning it didn’t perm and now I straight hair and permed hair. For $ 170 dollars I expected better service and quality. Not only did my hair end up not being done properly, but my stylist drenched my whole back when washing my hair. Seriously!!! Who does that!!! This is the WORSTSALON I have ever been to… And I have visited the JcPenny Salon years ago. Shouldn’t a hairstylist know what to do for a perm and not continuously asking the boss for what to do? She didn’t know what she was doing… If she did, they would be receiving more stars. Don’t go here for a perm!!! Run people RUN!!! I am appalled with their professionalism and lack of proper customer service. I think they need to stop being rude and get their act together.

This is a nice, clean salon with a fairly large retail area. They were also able to get me in at the last minute on a Saturday, which was great. Unfortunately, my good experience ended there. I think my stylist’s name was Jenny or Jennifer and she seemed to be having a bad day, which happens. You can expect everyone to be cheery all of the time! My real issue is that despite bringing in a picture and describing my super basic hair cut /answering her questions, it still turned out a mess. I’ve even given it a few weeks to grow out a little now and I still hate it. The layers are uneven, unblended, and hang weirdly no matter how I style them. Because my hair is long and the cut is straight-forward, I’ve never had a problem walking into any random salon and getting what I need. I’m just really disappointed to be so unhappy with my hair even a month later. It seems like a lot of other people have had a good experience at this salon, but I would not return.

Followed Anoushea here from her previous salon in Poway. I loved my hair the first time. She gave me a head full of beautiful, golden blonde hair. When I visited her at Salon 56, she said she had written down my formula mixture so I’d have the same beautiful color. She lied. She never wrote it down, so she had to throw together a mix for me and I knew right away when my hair was dry. It was a disgusting, brassy orange color. I wanted to cry. What made my visit even worse was the fact that she rushed the entire time because she double booked! Who does that? While she was drying my hair, she kept apologizing to the client waiting and in turn, burned my ear and scalp multiple times. I did not book my next appointment with her, nor have seen her since.

the wonderful lady who does the waxing and facials is the BEST at what she does! I highly recommend her to everyone! I am very very happy with the leg waxing, underarm waxing and the facial I got there recently.

Got squeezed in for a walk-in and was very happy with the results! Got a cut and color and everything went even better than I expected. I got very good suggestions and we worked together to get my hair just the way I wanted it. Everyone was friendly and professional; service was excellent. Would highly recommend!

This review is for waxing. I recently went there to get my brows and upper lip waxed. The lady did a really good job with my brow shape and the salon looks nice, but I got a bunch of white bumps(that look like little pimples) where the wax was. I have never had this kind of a reaction to getting my brows/upper lip waxed. On top of that, it was $ 30 for both and that seems pretty steep. I will not be going back for waxing, I feel like I could get better results for less at a nail salon.

I don’t think this place deserves 1 star! My daughter went in for trial run Prom up do from Alyssa Garcia and came home with a horrible braided blob of crap. She even brought in a picture. I won’t continue with the other things that were said. But I will NEVER ever return. I love PQ and like to support the businesses here, but this place is off my list!

After searching for quite some time, I have finally found the perfect place! Emily is AMAZING! She is not only a wonderful person, but she knows color and cuts so well. She takes her time in the consultation, and makes you feel beautiful! You won’t be sorry!

Salon 56 is awesome, but the best part about it is Bridgette! I’ve been going to her for about 15 years now and she’s become the only person I trust with my hair. I follow her wherever she goes! She literally does exactly what I ask for. She knows I like my hair long and will never cut more than I specify. Before I met her, I had several bad experiences with hair stylists that got scissor happy on me. She will NOT do that to you! She also has a great eye for hair colors and trendy styles. I used to do highlights and lowlights with her all the time but I decided to grow out my natural color again for lower maintenance. One time, I made an awful mistake and dyed my own hair black. Somehow, she got all of it out and gave me my beautiful highlights back(I don’t know how she did it). I would recommend her to anyone!

Natasha has been my stylist ever since she worked in Sacramento, CA. I don’t trust anyone else with my hair, so I make trips to San Diego just to get my hair done by her. I’m a platinum blonde and get compliments at least once a day about my hair color. I definitely recommend Natasha at Salon 56!

I’ve been going to this salon for over a year now, and I’ve had a different stylist each time. They’ve all been considerate with attention to detail and and a nice attitude. Sometimes it’s difficult for me to describe exactly what I’m wanting, and in those cases the stylists have talked it through with me for a few minutes to make sure we’re on the same page. They understand that we have to live with this hair, go to work with this hair, and talk to people in this hair, so they’ve all done their best to make sure I’m happy with it. I’ll continue to go back to them, because in my opinion, there’s nothing more important in customer service than good communication.

This past week I made an appointment with Emily. I went in with long hair, not really sure what I wanted to do but just something different. She gave me helpful suggestions and we decided to leave long layers in and put a hint of violet/red in my dark hair with highlights of my natural hair color. She did a fabulous job, I left the salon with a huge smile on my face. I highly recommend Emily! She’s sweet, personal, and extremely talented. Thank you Emily! I will definitely be returning :)

I called and spoke with the receptionist to make an appointment for highlights, was quoted a price for roughly $ 75, and told the appointment would be two hours long. Instead, after chatting with the stylist and picking a color, she informed me that she did not have time for the actual service as I had been«fit in» and this was a consultation. What!?? So I got a babysitter and drove all the way there for nothing. Such a waste of time. She asked if I could come back next week… and I told her the opportunity had passed. So disappointing!

Salon 56 is the best of the best! I’ve known the owner Jaimie for over 10yrs and him and partner Kathy have brought a runway level of service to us here in the greater San Diego area. I will drive from anywhere to have Jaimie do my hair! All the stylists are amazing and special love to Emily Weed if you can’t get in with Jaimie. My cut and color is always flawless, and while I’m(secretly…wink wink) fighting grey hair… he works the color with my natural hair and the season’s effects to always keep me looking gorgeous :) and not like I’m covering up for anything. Haha. They use top of the line products and always moving with what’s new and great! Jaimie is a top level agent with the Joico brand and is always in the know about what’s hot and what’s not! If that’s not enough Salon 56 was rated #3 on Channel 10 A-list! And if that’s not enough, Salon 56 has a non profit called Salons of Substance that brings together salons in the area to do events to raise $ for those in need in our local community. I can’t say enough good things… but I’ll tell you that all of my friends have one by one been leaving their salon for Salon 56… and I promise you will too! :) Party Sensei Follow me pretty please! -

We really like Maria, unfortunately she doesn’t work there anymore. Have tried a couple other girls for haircuts but didn’t like then as much. Had my makeup done their once and it turned out really nice.

What is a straight married man Unilocaling about a hair salon for? I’m no means«metro», vain or lack self confidence, but what I do want is to maintain a no nonsense, professional look without having to worry about the day to day maintenance of a style that couldn’t keep up with my active lifestyle. Lets cut to the Chase, shall we? Enter Rosie, the new found Gem of a stylist found at Salon 56. I knew Rosie a short time before she began working here, but It was quickly apparent when you step into her Lab that I swear she works some black magic with hair. Although Rosie is the new kid on the block, it’s quickly apparent she knows her craft well and carefully and confidently whipped up a style I was proud to strut out of there. She is patient, kind, a good listener, friendly and unhurried. You do pay a bit extra, but you get the piece of mind you are getting a quality trim and that in itself is priceless. I would recommend Rosie if you are ready to try a new look, as she is as creative as they come when it comes to style. Go check out Salon 56. You will be glad you did

Tried Jaime 5 times. He’s supposedly one if the owners. I’ve never had a stylist draw blood until this year. Jaime managed to cut me on 3 separate occasions. Once by whacking me with the tip of his shears. Once with the blades. And once with his clippers. The LAST appointment, I was finally able to say, «last time was perfect! Let’s do the same thing.» Only to be told, «I’m not going to do that, sorry.» Each appt he spent a maximum 15 minutes on me. He took breaks in the middle to make personal calls. He was moody and un talkative to the point it was uncomfortable.
