When I think«Sizzler» I think«CHEESEBREAD» or «Cheese Toast!» Or «Sizzler Cheese Bread Toast!!» LOL Whatever you’d like to call it, there’s no doubt it tastes good! This is my go-to Sizzler’s in San Diego and I gotta tell ya: I’m really diggin’ the renovations! Go Sizzler with your souplantation-inspired-salad-hot-food-bar! What what?! Seriously! Chicken wings, tacos, Mac and cheese, gourmet salads and soups all come with the salad bar meal!!! I was impressed! And the food was good too! We also had the Steak and Chicken entrée(hehe we shared) which was cooked just right! I think the renovation took almost a year(sure felt like YEARS) but it was definitely worth the wait! The servers here are attentive, quick to clean, and all seem to take pride in their new job environment :) did I mention there are flat screen TVs in there too? Very cool! Nice job Sizzler! Cheese toast still looks great on ya! YUMYUM: P

We weren’t expecting much… and got less! Fatty ribs, processed log for the garlic mashed potatoes and bad service. Don’t bother!

A good place for a great lunch. .. And very reasonably priced, too. The AYCE salad/soup/taco bar cost about $ 11, and was well worth it. Unlimited soft drinks, coffee, tea and yes, a sundae dessert bar, too. The interior is very attractively modern, and for TV addicts, there are widescreens. The salad toppings(and indeed the underpinnings) were varied and fresh. I generally choose spinach for my leafy greens, and wow, do they have toppings, or what ?? I can’t name everything, but chopped bacon, hardboiled egg, mushrooms, peas, cukes, garbanzos, beets, Bermuda onion, and on and on are available in the trays. Everything was very fresh. There were six distinct salad dressings offered, as well as croutons. Oh, and you can also grab as many chicken wings as you want. Problem is, you won’t want very many, since they aren’t at the same level of quality as the rest of the food. Deep fried, very heavy batter, not much meat. One was enough for me. Across the aisle is the taco bar. That alone could provide a very substantial lunch. Next to the taco bar is the sundae station. I was too full to try it, but will be sure to pace myself a wee bit better next time. An important note, the restroom was spotless. I’m a fan.

Wow I was pleasantly surprised sizzler has changed since I have not been here in a couple of years. This location has remodeled and staff was very friendly the food was great. Nothing was stale and they really cared about the making sure the food was fresh. Saw them replacing many buffet items even after 8 p.m. when the place was empty. Had steak & shrimp scampi and both were cooked perfectly. Had few wings & Mac & cheese from buffet and my wife had salad & baked potato. Everything was surprisingly fresh & tasty. I will definitely be back.

Two years later, and they’re still thriving. Their food was cooked the way I specified it, their Stone IPA was fresh and had a good enough head to be drinkable, and the shrimp skewers were delicious. However, I have a suggestion for all Sizzlers out there: please, for God’s sake, give us customers who want our steak a serrated steak knife. I cannot, for the life of me, bring myself to keep using a flat edged knife(albeit sharp) to cut my steak, because it takes more effort to slice than a serrated knife, especially on a hunk of delicious sirloin steak that’s cooked to medium rare. If this was implemented to all the Sizzlers including this one that I go do, that would be amazing.

I just love this place! The food is really good and the price is totally fair. It is not a fancy restaurant for a romantic date, but it is a perfect place for you to eat when you are hungry and looking for meat.

I love this place, and have, ever since 1989 when I first was introduced. Since then, a lot of greatness has come to this chain and I support them. The redesign(for me being near one after 13 years) is very sleek and welcoming. The food is awesome, the price is right, and the service at this location is warm and happy!

The best thing about this place is the soda. The salad bar was just okay, not bad. I wouldn’t eat here again. But the inside is really pretty and new looking. My husband got ribs but. They weren’t seasoned but juicy. We solved that by asking for some bbq sauce. Fries weren’t great either. But the bread was. One star for the bread and another star for how pretty it was on the inside.

Way to go, Sizzler crew!!! We were THOSE people, walked in at 30 minutes to closing for a sit down meal. I’ve never been to a Sizzler so all I knew to expect was steak. Maybe a roll or halfway decent salad We selected our meals, added some salad bars and beer *it’s San Diego! We like good beer! 3 beers on tap, but good choices!* and found ourselves a table. I was REALLY surprised at the quality of the salad bar! Everything was full and fresh and a really great selection! *yay!!! Little corn cobs and amazing prepared seafood, veggie, and pasta salads* Marie was polite and attentive even as she did her closing duties, crisp cold beers arrived at the table promptly. We really enjoyed our salads, and the choice of rolls or cheese toast(yummo!!!) Our steak dinners arrived promptly, the perfectly fluffy baked potatoes not skimped on the toppings, juicy steaks grilled properly, and our add ons(lobster tail and all you can eat popcorn shrimp!!!) were delicious. We were wrapping up our meal and the kitchen had even anticipated a refill of the all you can eat shrimp, so we were invited to box them up and bring them home. All in all, really impressed at the quality of food and service! Thank you for a good meal!

On a day this hot I really wanted a salad but not souplantation because they have no protein options for my husband. We settled on Sizzler. I haven’t been here in years. It looks like they recently remodeled. It’s reminiscent of a Chili’s or Applebees. They have the chargers game on all 5 flat screens. The salad bar has a ton of great options that rival souplantation. They also offer soups, wings, nachos and tacos. Everything tastes great. Surprised to say but I think I will be eating here more often.

This place was newly remodeled and it looks great. The food is good, the selection on the salad bar and taco bar are great. The reason for the middle of the road review is it seems the prices have gone up to the point that it is no longer worth it. For the price of the salad bar alone I would much rather go to Soup Plantation. Also, there was a women there with a non service dog and the management said there was nothing they could do about it. I love my pets too. Just not at a restaurant while I am trying to eat a meal. I am not sure I would return to this location simply because of the dog situation.

This restaurant had been nicely remodeled. My coworkers and I came one day before noon and beat the lunch rush hour. I had the special, which was the philly cheesesteak with fries. The sandwich also came with salad bar and drink. Total with tax was $ 15. The salad bar was properly stocked with fresh veggies and fruits. It also had a taco bar and buffalo wings. I made my first round at the salad bar and was finishing up while I was enjoying my food when I realized I was getting full. Our waitress came by with my sandwich and fries. I did manage to have some of my cheesesteak and fries but took most of it to go. I think next time I come, I’ll just order the salad bar. Overall experience was good and I got plenty of food for the price that I paid.

I used to go to this Sizzler often when I worked at the Holiday Inn next door. It was a bit run down and not the cleanest place but it was convenient. On this visit it had been almost 2 years since I returned to this Sizzler and I was shocked. They remodeled the whole entire restaurant. It was clean, the staff was friendly and the new items were great! It was nice to see that they still had the chicken wings on the Salad Bar. I love this place and will definitely go back again! 2 thumbs up from 2 fluffy foodies

Surprisingly the food was OK here. I hadn’t been to a Sizzler for over a decade. Not saying I’d suggest coming here, but yes it was better then I expected.

My favorite part of Sizzler was their strawberry watermelon Italian soda, and I’m not exaggerating. I think this place is pretty pricey for their average(most acceptable, respectable word) food. How it works is that you order and pay first, then you sit down and get your food. You can either do the buffet, which comes with the salad bar/soup/ice cream(similar to a Souplantation), or you can order sides/entrees. My boyfriend and I ordered two entrees, plus our drinks, it came out to about $ 40. I would pay that much for a meal at The Cheesecake Factory, but not for a Sizzler. My boyfriend got the steak and skewer combo, whereas I got the steak and(breaded) shrimp combo. He got his steak cooked medium, I got mine cooked medium well, and the both of us chose fries as our side out of fries, mashed potatoes, and a baked potato. The wait for the food wasn’t too long. I was excited once I saw our waiter coming out with the food because my stomach kept growling, but it didn’t look that pleasing once it was in front of my house. I didn’t want to be so quick to judge, though! First, I watched my boyfriend’s unsatisfied face as I bit into his fries. At that point, I added salt and pepper all over them and was prepared to dip the life out of them into ketchup. I like to eat my steak with steak sauce, and their’s was a bit too salty for my liking, and tasted more like BBQ. I kept using it, though, because my steak was chewy and covered in fat. Mind you, it wasn’t even that big either. Aside from my Italian soda and his Coke, we both agreed that the shrimp was the best part of the plate. The skewer shrimp is a lot better than the breaded shrimp, in my opinion… So I wish I had gotten his plate, at least. The food wasn’t too great. The staff was very friendly, though. I wouldn’t come back, but I wouldn’t consider this place«terrible.» Maybe it’s better for other people, but today, it wasn’t cutting it.

Come here once a month but glad they finally reopened! Their«salad bar» buffet took a step forward after the re opening! The food looks and tastes a lot better along with the condiments! The wings need work, since they downgraded from the ones they had before the re opening. Also they no longer have any nacho cheese too… or I couldn’t find it, but pretty sure they don’t have it. The key thing for the buffet is that you can now refill your own drinks and have quite the selection to choose from! Plus the ice is the easily, crushable ones that I prefer too. The renovations to the restaurant are great and bring out a laid-back, casual atmosphere. They also have a huge TV in the group dining that you can watch the NFL games on! The employees and staff here are still helpful and friendly! We requested a certain football game and within 5minutes it was on. Overall, I give this place 5stars. Minor errors with certain options at the salad bar addressed above, but you can’t knock them down since every restaurant can’t be hitting every single little thing hahaha

Sizzler newly renovated restaurant is AMAZING! LALA is the best server in the afternoon(before 3) and JESSIE is the best after 3pm! Ask for their sections for FANTASTICSERVICE! Yummy shrimps! I really enjoy going on Fridays when they have all you can eat seafood at the salad bar. It’s really good quality: clams, mussels, talapia, shrimp, cod, calamari and so much more!

I’m a huge fan of the remodeled location. I personally haven’t been to a sizzlers in about 10 years, food was terrible. My parents are huge fans and I hesitated but gave in to the idea of lunch. I have Celiacs and checked online, their new menu is very gluten free friendly! Favorites: their ice(yes their ice is amazing), their kale salad, quinoa and avocado salad, jicima salad, strawberry salad, and their baked potatoes(it’s like a upscale steakhouse style cooked in salt). I like the ice cream, but lived the fruit pudding, which was berries and cream. So much healthier. My dad loves their chili and jalapeño cornbread. Their lemonades are also great. Fruit is really fresh. My husband wasn’t impressed, said you can’t put lipstick on a pig. But I enjoyed it and will come back, minus my husband.

I just came here today at 4pm for the 2nd time ever going to a Sizzler. I went to one back in Seattle about a year or so ago and it was so-so. This was not just so-so! I found out this location was just remodeled like a month or so ago. I dont know what it looked like before but now its certainly looks nice! Very open and well lit with large windows all around, lots of seating areas and a large banquet room, nice booths and tables, easy to navigate from food tables/serving area to the seating area. Looks very new and clean overall. I had a coupon for a free salad bar add on with my entrée which was the $ 9 herb grilled chicken breast served with grilled veggies and baked tater. The salad bar is huge! Its got anything you would need for a giant healthy or indulgent salad making. They even have a house made low no fat Greek yogurt dressing I just loved! They have cold salads, hot salads, sliced fruits, sliced bread and cheeses to pick from to. They also have 5 – 6 pipping hot soups on the line as well as chili, baked potatoes and sweet potatoes… build your own hard shell tacos and huge salad shells for your salad if you wish to do so… they also have a ice cream and frozen yogurt station with waffle cones, bowls and sugar cones for the sweet aftermath of a good meal if you can fit anymore in at this point. So for under $ 11 with tax(no drink) I got a huge meal and even made it a very health meal at that. I love a place that has good food, lots of variety and great prices in a cool environment… plus free Wi-Fi as well. You really must come in and check out this new remodel and the menu they have. Its now my favorite salad bar place in town. I am told that from 11 – 4 daily they have $ 5 salad bar vs the normal $ 7 some dollar price it costs(still a steal!)
