I’ve always seen this place around my work. Finally tired of subway so I decided to give it a try. First impressions: wow, I feel like I’m back in the early 90s with the store décor!!! But man, the sandwiches are great! They use an actual grinder, and fresh ingredients! You can clearly taste the difference between this and other sub places. You see the owner helping out in the trenches, and if there isn’t too much of a crowd he’s talkative. When I come(during lunch hour) it’s like an assembly line, one word answers! I noticed that they don’t give out receipts, which is good(it saves trees) and bad(sometimes you don’t know if you need to hang around or if you’re good to go).

Great service, nice staff & owner is usually helping out. Been coming here for years — consistent, clean, fast, we’ll priced, and friendly. Veggies are fresher than subway or Quiznos. The godfather sandwich rocks!

I had such a great experience here. The owner and employee who were working were both so kind and welcoming. The entire place was also very clean. My favorite submarina now!

Submarina is way better than subway. The bread is thicker, the veggies are more fresh and the godfather sub is delicious! Staff is always friendly and they even have a rewards card for frequent buyers like me. They even do catering for special events. Highly recommend!

I LOVETHISPLACE! everything is fresh and delicious! Meat sliced to order, none of that Subway pre-sliced stuff! Customer service is on point! The two dudes running the place on the weekend’s are fantastic! Super friendly and helpful. Ask about the secret menu, it mainly consists of employee experiments gone right! My favorite sandwichis the Santa Fe which is oven roasted chicken with jalapeño bacon avocado and pepper Jack cheese, sooooo goooooood!!! Definitely beats the other chain sandwich places by far!

I stopped in yesterday and was a really looking forward to an amazing sandwich, but the experience turned out to be disappointing. The bread is the thing I go for, and it was still awesome and the sandwich itself was satisfying. However, if I had it to do again, I would have gotten the sandwich to go, because from the second we walked in, every interaction with the two guys that work there gives one the impression that they are being inconvenienced by having to help you. The entire order process felt awkward with one word responses and a put out tone. At the end the guy was in such a hurry to ring me up, that even though the person I was with was still trying to order his sandwich, the guy at the register interrupts and is asking about chips and a combo, so his focus goes to that guy and then the guy he was ordering the sandwich from gets a frustrated look on his face. They literally couldn’t push us through the line any faster. When I set everything down on the table, I realize we don’t have a cup or napkins so I go back and ask and am given four tiny napkins and end up having to get the cup myself after a game of «Is this the right cup?», «No it’s the other one, the one in the middle.». I also ordered a bottled drink and had to play a game of hot/cold since he never bothered to tell me where they were located. Couple that with the fact that they were out of meatballs(at 3pm, and they have it on their menu as one of their main hot sandwiches) and the pepsi in the machine was out, and we were over it. So while we will still enjoy the amazing Submarina bread in the future, we will not be visiting this location again. The cherry on top was that two sandwiches with chips and drinks cost $ 27 and change. Thanks, but no thanks.

Super fresh bread and meat. The Cali was delicious. My daughter ordered the meatball sub and she loved it. The guys behind the counter were friendly and nice.

We recently placed an order here for 40 turkey subs and 20 veggie subs and they did a great job. The owner gave us a fair price, had everything ready on time, and even went the extra mile by packing everything up in a box and putting the subs in individual bags. We’ve also eaten here a couple of times in the past few weeks, and the staff has been excellent, the sandwiches have been fresh, and the service has been quick! Thanks, Brett and Team!

THEWORSTEXPERIENCEANDPRODUCTIVEEVERHADATSUBMARINA. Was craving submarina today and this location was the closest to me. I normally go to the one in la mesa. Personality was terrible and atmosphere made me feel uncomfortable. They had two different lettuces and didnt even bother to ask me which one I wanted just threw it on. Went to get my soda and the pepsi was clear with no syrup, so I tried my second choice and that was out also by the third soda it finally worked but tasted terrible. Barely put any sprouts on my sandwich which is one of the main reasons I like going to submarina. uhhhh! So mad and dissapointed! Definitely never going back here!

The food here is SO good. Way better than Subway — in fact, there is really no comparison. Subway has old-looking, wilted, vegetables and Submarina(especially this one) always has the freshest looking ingredients. The staff are all really nice. I always see the same people when I go there and they remember me. They’re very friendly and have never messed up an order of mine. At lunch time during the week it can get a little busy, but they always do a good job at getting people through the line quickly. I prefer this Submarina because it has my favorite sandwich(ATC), whereas other locations have different menus. I highly recommend this location!

Food is fine, but the girls had a conversation in Spanish the ENTIRE time I was there, and messed up my order twice because they were too busy talking to listen to me.

I like Submarina better than Subway. Their ingredients seem to be fresher and I like the bread better than the aforementioned place. They slice the meat to order instead of pealing it off a piece of wax paper that was sitting around for who knows how long. They are willing to accommodate your sandwich order to the way you like. Got the«special» a 6 inch sandwich, with chips and a drink for $ 5.95. Not bad. But you get basic sandwiches, like Roast Beef or Turkey, etc. with cheese and veggies.

First time I ate here and I must say it was very good. The service, The quality of the food and the atmosphere were all great! I will eat here again. Much better than the subway that is on the other side of the freeway.

If you are looking for a place in the area where they cut their meat fresh, use good brown bread and at a reasonable price this is the place to go! Much fresher vegetables than Subway or Quiznos and the staff are willing to accommodate. The place is not much to look at but there 10 stamp card reward program is worth it! For a healthy and fresh alternative for lunch this is the place to go!

Went with the family to soccer loco next door and decided to stop there and get a bite because we saw a sign out sign with special on it. We go in and they say that its not the deal and we had to choose from a limited menu. Staff was nice about it but it was the old bait and switch. Food was good so average overall.

I went to get a sub for lunch since they are right by my work, and I was underwhelmed. They didn’t have any squaw bread, and the wheat was old in texture. My tuna smelled too tunay, and they charge $.99 for one half of an avocado? Decent price and convenience are the only upsides.

Hidden Gem! Monday-Friday after 5:00 p.m. any sub, chips and drink $ 5! What a steal, well at least compared to how much it originally costs for a Cali. I love Submarinas for their fresh-cut deli meat. Specifically at this place my sandwich maker guru knows how to slice and avocado like no one I’ve seen before! Anyway this meal comes in handy for a student on a budget trying to find a healthy dinner :-)
