I have never said anything negative about sub-way. But I stopped at this subway to order a six inch sub with no cheese. The lady put the half piece of sub bread by a ruler and cut off one inch of sub bread to discard it. What a waste! Why not just put the foot long bread down and measure to cut it in half? Bev

This used to be a great Subway. It was always packed when I went there. I sent there on my lunch on May 2nd around 2:50 p.m. and they only had one customer. There was one person in front of me. There were tons of baked chips and I asked where their regular chips were. The manager said there order would be in the next day. Unhappy about it since it’s obvious they can order enough of the baked chips, but not enough of the regular ones, but if I were the manager, I would offer to take money off of the meal since I wouldn’t be getting the chips. She could care less. Some managers have no skills with customers and you wonder how they got their jobs. So, I still wanted the sandwich and the young girl was making it with white bread. I looked at the lady in front of me and her sandwich looked twice as big. I asked the girl if she was making it with the white bread and she asked me if I wanted that! Uh… yeah…that’s what I had asked for instead of some type of flat(maybe breakfast bread?). I just shook my head and said, «forget it» and left. I was going to have to pay full price for a flat bread sandwich and a drink. I now see why it isn’t packed with people anymore. You know, Subway really needs some training for their employees. The Subway near Tio Lios near Mission Gorge had an employee who was cleaning the bathrooms and then went to the counter to help out with the food without taking off her glove and washing her hands. I’ve seen the Subway employee off of Navajo Road wipe her nose with her glove on and sneeze near the food and not wash her hands or change the food. It’s so gross nowdays and I don’t know how these places keep an A rating. I sure would hate to think of what things happen for a B rating. Training, training, training Subway.

There’s not much to say about chain restaurants because the food is pretty much the same. But to the staff that worked Tuesday morning 5÷10÷16, thanks for brightening up my day! Y’all made me feel welcome :) Btw, spicy Italian is where it’s at. And it was the sandwich of the day when I went! Made me so happy!!!

I’ve been to this Subway before, but one particular person made my sandwich today and did a horrible job. I ordered two different sandwiches but for some reason she thought the same ingredients needed to go on both sandwiches without even asking. I did explain to her they are different sandwiches but I believe there is a language barrier and she just shrugged her shoulders like«oh well».

Best subway in San Diego ! The staff are amazing and friendly. They get super busy over lunch but they keep the smile at all times

It is what it is and the tuna sandwich tasted good. The restaurant was clean and the staff attentive to the customers although it did seem a little under staffed for this close to lunch hour. There were two people on ths counter and one at the register so the counter folks were quite busy. The lack of staff seemed to slow the line down a bit but overall they did well. I would recommend this location to family and friends.

Quite possibly one of the worst Subways in SD. Lots of money invested in the restaurant but terribly ran. You can see it in the way the employees greet customers, take orders and build sandwiches that they are extremely unhappy. Staff just throw the sandwiches together giving customers the feeling that they just plain don’t want to be there! I’ve been here 4 times and get the same level of rude service serve with a side of attitude from a different employee each time. The outside deck, tables, and chairs are filthy and disgusting. To top it off, parking is a mess! I do not recommend given that there are other Subways with a few miles east and west.

Just placed an order on a phone app(got to love technology), I was given an estimated time my order would be ready. As I arrived 2 minutes past the order time, guess what? The order was not only NOT ready but the customer service was awful. The cashier kept talking to her associate, attempted to charge me $ 15 for a sandwich. I literally had to argue with the lady there are a lot of items missing in my order. She also informed me they were out of avocado. Great, why give me that option on the phone then?! The associate by the name of Marcy was very rude to me and had poor customer service skills. As well as did not know how to read properly the order. When I arrived home within a minute, I realized my order was very incorrect but I was stuck with it. Very disappointed in this place. If you go to any Subway, avoid this location at your own cost.

Great Subway! Staff is very friendly, helpful, and does their jobs effectively. Parking is a little tough at lunch, but that’s not Subway’s fault. This location is way, way better than the one at 7710 Balboa Avenue.

I have nothing bad to say about this location. I went in to pick up 3 subs during lunch rush hour. The staff was very friendly, fast and good listeners. They got my order correctly when I rumbled off my order kinda fast.

what can you say about Subway. It’s about as consistant of a fast food that you can find. This Subway’s a.m. staff is awesome. Very friendly, seem to care and passionate about their work of being sandwich artists.

Fresh veggies and a friendly attitude That’s what restaurants like these are all about The sandwich artist behind the counter was very friendly and had great recommendations It was the first time I had tried the breakfast sandwich on flat bread & loved it! The bacon is a little scarce but you don’t really miss it because the egg whites & cheese pick up the slack This loc is right by my work & I’m happy to say that

It’s Subway. You kind of know what you’re getting in to here. I mean, really. But lets face it, I’ve got to get to 100 reviews this year somehow. ;) I’ve only stopped in close to opening, which means the parking situation isn’t an issue(though with the other restaurants nearby, I can see why lunch time might be a challenge.) Their breakfast sandwiches aren’t terrible for what they are, and just a tip, they’re cheaper if you get coffee($ 3 vs $ 4 with some change added to each) and the service is quite friendly for that hour of the day. I’m sure they’ve been there baking bread or whatever for an hour or so before the doors open, but it’s still nice that they manage a friendly smiling face before dawn. I know I sure don’t. So, yeah, it’s Subway. You’ll get what you know you’re going to get, but maybe with a smile.

I usually love love Subway but I was very disappointed with my lunch yesterday. I was thinking my delicious turkey, bacon avocado was just what I need for lunch while at work. Parking is pretty ridiculous, took me about 10 minutes to find a spot. I order and go back to my work parking lot to eat as I only have about 10 minutes to do so. It appears that something spicy made it’s way into my sandwich which caused me to not eat half of it because it burned the crap out of my mouth. So OK bummer but at least I have my nice cold medium size drink. Drink #1 was way way too much syrup. OK I thought, maybe I just need to mix it before every drink. Nope, I tried for about half the cup and then realized OK this meal was a bust and it all went into the trash.

It’s Subway. If you’ve been to one you’ve been to them all…(at least, in my opinion). Anyway, the parking is pretty bad, as others have mentioned. I don’t have major complaints. I usually get toasted sandwiches; by the way, if you find it as annoying as I do that when they toast the sandwich the middle parts are nice and toasted but the outer edges and ends of the bread are too hard/crunchy for your liking, ask them to toast it for 15 seconds instead of 30. That’s probably the only majorly picky thing about me, I prefer lightly toasted for 15 seconds over 30. Unfortunately I’m not in love with their coffee, but I shouldn’t expect amazing coffee from a sandwich place anyway… It’s nice when they have that little breakfast deal where you can basically get free coffee/chips for ordering a 6-inch breakfast sandwich. And just a note, Malia M.,(previous reviewer on this page who reviewed this place 3÷2÷2011) I think you’re too nice for giving them 3 stars after finding out that the employees talked behind your back. I mean, I’ve worked service before, employees do shoot the breeze, that generally happens… but not to friendly customers. If you’ve been nothing but friendly to them but they complained about your pickiness, well that’s just stupid considering their in the business of «Have it Your Way» …

It’s close to where I work, so I come here on a pretty regular basis. It’s not bad… it’s really comparable to any other Subway. Staff is generally friendly, and food is typical Subway fare. They are a bit slow to work through the line(which can be long). Also, the parking situation is pretty terrible. If you try and come during lunch, it might be a bit tough to find a spot.

Only reason this isn’t a 1 star is because I’ve had better service here in the past and I like that they have a nice outdoor/heated seating area(where I’ve never sat but it looks nice and I appreciate it’s offered). –Parking’s always kind of a crapshoot here. The other night there was literally one spot left in the whole area. –Walked in, they were completely out of hand sanitizer in the dispenser they have at the counter. –Went to the bathroom, there was barely a drop of soap left. –Went to dry my hands, the hand blow dryer was not working(and it appeared that they were close to running out of paper towels). –Asked for bell peppers, they were completely out of bell peppers. –Asked for flatbread, they were completely out of flatbread. –Said they were completely out of honey oat but luckily found a couple hiding somewhere. –A bunch of the gang(staff) were just hanging out at a table and also taking up a couple of the nice lounge chairs inside… and I overheard them asking the one or two other guys that were actually working if they were on break yet. –Watched another customer come in and walk to the counter to order, while the staff just kept chatting away. Finally, one of the guys slowly walked over to the counter(while still chatting away with his pals) and, after waiting a few more moments, then took the man’s order. –As I was leaving, noticed that the main staff guy working there was walking back to Subway from the liquor store that’s across the parking lot(while there was only one other dude inside Subway that was even halfway working and that person was cleaning). I figure it was the liquor store anyway because that’s one of the things the gang was chattering away about a few minutes earlier. Come on, guys/gals. You’re better than that! Usually things are decent here but the other day was bad. Have your fun but not to the point that your service is hurting. And for cryin’ out loud, keep some flatbread(and other bread) in-stock. There are WAY too many OTHER Subways around to be slacking off.

I’m writing this review because the customer service here is pretty outstanding. Unlike other Subways, once you walk through the doors, the Sandwich Artists yelled, «Welcome to Subway!» During lunch time, it can get pretty hectic with long lines. But the Artists here were super fast preping the sandwiches. I was impressed that the line was moving along so quickly. I also like how they have an outdoor seating patio area. Look forward to sitting out there once it starts to get more sunny. I give this location 4 stars though because I tried the Chicken Bacon sandwich and it wasn’t that great. I should have gotten my usual Chicken Breast with avocado«for extra» topped with Honey Mustard sauce. I know, maybe it’s not the Artists’ fault that the Chicken Bacon wasn’t that great, but then again… maybe it was?

The last few times I’ve been here, there’s been a major problem with fruit flies. I go so often that I’ve gotten to «know»(by sight) some of the staff working there and it usually happens on weekend mornings… Even at 10am, the trash is STUFFED full, overflowing and the trash«hole» over by the beverage bar is swarming with fruit flies and the smell of trash… to the point that you have to hold your breath to get to the straws and lids so you don’t accidentally swallow any. I mentioned this a couple times to the person on staff at the time and they are always polite and say, «oh, we’ll take care of it right away!» but if I go in the next day, sure enough, the trash reeks and I’m swatting away bugs. Either whomever closes the night before doesn’t give a damn about the person opening the next day… or it’s the same lazy person closing, then opening the next morning. The sandwiches are still good and the staff is still friendly, though I’ve gotten some new people lately who don’t put the same care into the sandwiches that some of the other employees do, but perhaps that will change — you’d think they’d show more attention being new. I hope they fix this trash issue because one of the reasons I like this particular location was, in addition to the friendly staff and sandwich care they seem to give, the cleanliness and comfort of the place. I wouldn’t be mentioning it here if I hadn’t already brought it to the attention of the staff more than once.
